Stylish venue offering traditional British dining from breakfast through dinner & cocktails.
Great breakfast, not the cheapest but the food quality makes it worth it. I cant say I enjoy their dinner menu though.
Friendly polite staff. The food looked beautiful but the taste could have been better balanced as the harissa was a little overpowering, decent Vegan options and a cute place to have Lunch.
Had a lovely evening here, and our server Ozzie was brilliant , couldnt fault him for anything and food was unreal too
We dropped in without a reservation, dinner was delicious and the waiter Ozzie was attentive, friendly and made our dining experience special.
Had a lovely valentines dinner and then returned for breakfastGreat attentive serviceFood was creative and fillingExpensive but worth it
We came in to celebrate our little ones first birthday. The staff were so hospitable and made us feel very welcome!
Lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff. Good food and drinks. Have been to a few of the ivy places now and always a pleasant experience. Would recommend.
Lovely upmarket cafe/restaurant over looking the Church and Heath in Blackheart. Food and service are really good if a bit pricey but then you are paying for vista and up market feel of Blackheart. Full English breakfast is good value but the coffees are a little overpriced hence the 4 star rating.
Had such a wonderful evening at the Ivy ,we had a lovely friendly waiter ,Ozzy take care of us ! He was super friendly and made sure our night was special and truly enjoyable! Great staff, atmosphere and food!Would highly recommend.
Ozzy gave us the most amazing service ever! Better than any other restaurant! Would take him everywhere that we eat if we could!
Food was good on the whole, hot to table but the burger was overdone which we wouldnt have expected. The waitress service we had this tome was the best so far, really friendly without being too much. Lunchtime rush meant it was really noisy in there though, the layout is arranged for maximum covers in the space, so when its full, its full and hard to hear the others at our table!
We made a 10 pm reservation on the 15th of October for 2 people. Got there and was seated by one of the waitress. We ordered 2 glasses of Prosecco to start with and was waiting for 15 minutes. We saw the waitress we order our drinks from chatting at the bar with her coworkers and laughing so we decided to call her over to find out why is our drinks taking so long.she look at us as if she completely forgotten and said she ordered it from the bar which wasn’t true because she went to speak with the bartender and we could hear him saying he didn’t get any order of such. Finally she brought our drinks over and said sorry about that and walked off so fast without even asking if we are ready to place our food order. We was waiting again for someone to acknowledge us and then we saw her and she came over took our order. The food came at a reasonable time my main was the lobster with spaghetti which I find a bit too salty apart from that I had to wait to see the waitress to ask for Parmesan ( yes it’s my preference I like it with seafood pastasshe ran down stairs and came back with some but by that time my food was already cold as we sat by the window which was cold. We ask why it was so cold where and she told us there’s a constant draught coming in and that the air conditioner may have come on. What a horrible experience! Apart from that she was loud and proud this waitress because she was coming back and forth to the table next to us checking on the diners but almost everyone could hear her loud strong accent which I find a bit interruptive especially when 2 people are trying to talk. Been here before 2 years ago for my son’s birthday dinner and it was a totally different experience it was nice..been coming tothis same spot for dinner back it the days when it was chapters restaurant and thought how nice when we heard the ivy cafe has took over.I have dined in the original ivy restaurant in Covent Garden and tower Bridge Canary Wharf and Kensington to name a few.. all good dining experience except for the other night in Blackheath.. don’t think we will be returning anytime soon which is a shame as we are locals and like to eat out as much as we can locally:(
Lovely restaurant - the staff were brilliant (Karmie, Ozzie and Stela in particular, very welcoming and couldn’t have asked for better service. I’m already looking forward to the the next time I go.
Exceptional service. Really attentive staff and manager was so genuine and accommodating. 10/10. Food was excellent, overall a very good experience.
Ambience was lovely, unfortunately the kitchen was a little slow and we were rushed off of our table. The prawn cocktail starter was lovelyBrioche burger was over cooked/burnt so had a very distinct taste.
Thanks to the team who were able to accommodate us as we had no booking. Great standard as usual.
Great place to enjoy a three course meal or more. Steak was well cooked and biting into it felt soo smooth. The mash was delectable and as it was was mine and my sisters birthday. We both got a Profiterole filled with gooey chocolate inside
What a treat! High class without going to 5* hotel. Reminded me of good old days working at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.Amazing details all the way from staffs uniforms to mirrors and ivy leave on the napkin.. Had a lively evening. Five stars from me!
Outstanding. My second day in a row at the Ivy and I’ve become a raving fan and had to leave a review in both venues. At Blackheath I was particularly taken back by the food. The fish, what ever was on the menu had run out and was replaced by I think Sol; the sauce had a rich maple syrup flavour with prawns and capers it was absolutely divine - I rarley take the time to leave reviews but hats off to the chef, it was outstanding.
The BEST breakfast I’ve ever had! During my trip to the UK, my (nowFiancé and I decided to visit the towns outside of the city of London. Blackheath is just a sweet cute town, we decided to try the Ivy Cafe where we were seated immediately. Our waiter took our order, kept our drinks filled, was so kind to us, and had our food ready and out fast! We ordered the ‘eggs royale’ and the ‘avocado benedict’. My eggs royale MELTED in my mouth! It was so fresh and delicious. Both of us enjoyed our time here and I hope you all do as well! Thank you for the wonderful service and food!
The Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and tasty I asked for a substitute for one of the items and they were able to accommodate with no fuss. The service was top notch and I am already planning my next visit.
Visited on a Sunday evening for a drink. Say by the bar and the staff were accommodating. The first drink was a piña colada, nice and creamy. The second one was specifically created by the bartender. After the two drinks we wanted something sweet and the dessert did not disappoint!
We had a lovely anniversary meal here, the food was scrumptious and even though my girlfriend didnt end up liking her main course they let her choose another dish which was kind of them. The staff were fantastic without the good staff the experience wouldnt have been as good as it was. Thank you! We will be returning and recommending.
After going here for a long time and enjoying the food and service, today will be the last time. The food was still good, but the service was very poor. We had a curt maitre d who tainted the whole experience, this gentleman needs to take a people friendliness course or become a traffic warden as politeness was not his strong point.
Workers were polite and the decoration is very original, but food and drinks were dissaponting and mediocre. When we booked online, we requested a table close to the window and mentioned we were celebrating my mums 70th birthday. No one read the booking notes.I wouldnt go back.
Fried zucchini were really good. The squid not that great.I had a fishcake which was also ok. The Rum Baba a bit dry but the taste was still good
Celebrated my birthday there with lunch and cocktails. The service is outstanding and the food and drinks are delicious. I reccomend the prawn cocktail
Lovely food, and very friendly staff. Our waitress, (I believe her name was El/Elle?made us feel very comfortable and kept us well looked after, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to celebrate!I would recommend taking a taxi if you struggle with walking, as parking outside is limited and the closest car park requires walking up a rather steep hill!!
Went here for lunch for the first time. Parking isnt great as its one of those phone app meters. Annoying! The parking area outside is also quite small so it was lucky that we got a spot. I can imagine at busy times, it would be hell to find parking. The restaurant is quite snug inside and we were given seating that was far too close to a noisy group of 4 so my friend promptly suggested a move to a better table. The starters and main were delicious and the service from the staff, excellent; they were very attentive and uber friendly. I will definitely visit again.
Great brunch and lunch options! Excellent service.
I received an outstanding level of service from Georgia. I visited the Ivy for my mums birthday and Georgia went out of her way to inform the other staff of the special occasion. As a result, my mum received a complimentary desert. Thank you for your efforts - I look forward to my next visit!
Always amazing. Brunch, lunch and dinner.
We had booked for the afternoon tea online. It turned out they dont do afternoon teas any more. Website needs an update on prices too. As an afterthought they brought us a complementary dessert just as we were leaving, so had to have it packed a to take away. We ordered steak on set menu and a few minutes we were told they had run out steaks. So we ordered a la carte. The management needs to get a handle on stuff. On the plus side the sea bass was very good.
Good experience.. was a walk-in bit the service was good.Place is really cute, so thats always a winner for me :)Ordered the fish and chips.. they were okay. The real winner was the sticky toffee pudding for dessert - amazing!Overall I enjoyed myself, would go back and try another main meal.
Wow what a breakfast and done to perfection too. Decor and ambiance superb. Worth a visit if you can.
Yummy comfort food and something for everyone. Nice cosy atmosphere with friendly staff. Beautiful interior decor. Also, serves vegan afternoon but you need to call in advance to book and request. Recommend trying out the afternoon with some friends.
Sadly another Blackheath eatery trading off its location and name, but hugely lacking in service and substance. You know you’re in the wrong place when it takes over 15 minutes for a drink to arrive. Service is massively lacking in this establishment. The menu is overpriced and food underwhelming. Would be far better off simplifying and trying to do less, but do it properly instead of obviously over stretching your staff and capabilities in the interest of perceived image and profits.
Great evening spot for dinner with family and loved ones. To start I thought this restaurant was going to be a disappointment, the entrance host had a capricious persona and did not make us feel welcome. However this was turned around by the waitress and supervisor who were fab! The interior of this restaurant is very nice, the seating and tables are very comfortable and presented well. We had 45 minutes to eat and go, the waitress helped advise what was good etc. Food came out in under 15 minutes. The squid was very tasty. I went safe and ordered fish and chips, the batter on the fish was light and crispy, chips were soft inside and crispy outside. The meal hit the right spot, an excellent experience leaving us wanting to come back very soon.
Food was delicious, service was outstanding. The only issue I found was it was too crammed. Ive been to other Ivy Cafes and this just felt like there were too many tables in the small space.
Very delicious, beautiful ambiance. Special treat for my birthday breakfast. Seemed rather busy which flustered the staff slightly
My wife brought me here for my birthday brunch and it was a fun meal overall. Food was good, restaurant is well decorated and fun but the service is seriously lacking. Snobby waiters forgetting that service can make or break a meal and need training on how to serve correctly, I definitely expected more from an Ivy. We also had to wait a long time for everything we ordered whilst tables were served quicker that order after us. As a result our food was often colder than it was meant to be.We had the Crispy Duck Salad which was extremely tasty and packed with flavour but maybe a tad over cooked, a few pieces of duck went past crispy to hard.My wife had the tempura prawns but they arrived very wet and soggy, not crisp like tempura is meant to be. They were tasty but would have been more enjoyable if hot and crisp. For our mains we had the Blackened Cod and Eggs royale with chips. My eggs royale was very tasty and the eggs were spot on, and the chips were good. My wifes blackened cod wasnt really blackened cod. It was closer to cod in a teryaki sauce! Very disappointed in that dish.Overall I wont be back due to poor service and long wait times but the food was good. Next time Ill try the Ivy in Canary Wharf as Ive heard better things.
Good place and ambience - Cosy and can prove to be a good location for a sunny day to sit outside as well. The restaurant however is not easily accessible for public transport, needs you to walk from Greenwich which is not too bad.Food however was very disappointing. Thick and chewy pancakes did not feel fresh at all. The Zucchini fritter is advertised as almost a special but is very oily and unappetizing. Had to leave most of it on the plate. Not a lot of vegetarian choices which is surprising for Greenwich standards. Brunch was ok - Chips and Hollandaise sauce were a slight saving grace, but in general my brunch experience was disappointing.
The Ivy Cafe has a pleasant and friendly environment, as always great decoration, dishes and customer service. :)
Incredible food with a wide menu to choose from. Great cocktails. Beautiful setting with wonderful service. Couldnt fault a thing and will definitely be back.
The food was nice, however what let me down was the forgetfulness with the service. They forgot my brothers Gin and tonic as well as the 2 orders of chips we ordered with our mains. My husband ended up just eating the blackened cod on its own which resulted in us having to buy more food elsewhere. The best part of the experience was the roasted scallops at the start of the meal.
Super place for brunch and lunch. Great service from professional and attentive staff. Not had a bad meal yet, the poached eggs are cooked to perfection. Very reasonably priced to boot. Will be returning for dinner.
This is actually a nice, reasonably priced place to have lunch in Blackheath. No idea if its linked to the famous Ivy restaurant chain, but the food is good and priced well for the area. On a sunny day see if you can get one of the outside seats which have lovely views out onto the heath however if the traffic is bad it.can be quite noisy. Service is excellent and food arrived quickly. They have a decent alcoholic drinks menu too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
What a restaurant. We went for our wedding anniversary and were met by some lovely staff who were very kind and generous with their time. The food was brilliant with incredible flavours and superb balance to the dishes. Quite expensive but I think good value for money for what you get and to celebrate those special occasions. The champagne was particularly lovely!!
A great place, with food food and a wonderful atmosphere. It is the sort of restaurant where you can turn up in jeans and t shirt or dressed up in a suit and it feel welcome either way,;the same is true of different size groups. A romanric meal for two or a group of 6 or more can both be at the restaurant at the same time and hold their own atmosphere and not intrude on the others.Good menu, nice decor and good service. I would definitely go again
We went there for a few times for breakfast and brunch, dinner. The service was amazing with kind welcome at the entrance and waiters were highly attentive with good knowledge of food. The breakfast menu is not very large but food served were excellent. Brunch/ dinner menu is even better. We had tried steak and eggs , a fish dish and the crab pasta. They all tasted amazing. The fish dish especially was our favourite. Desert was very nice as well with great presentation by the waiters. Will definitely go back again as the place has very good chilled but yet classic atmosphere. Highly recommend.
