The Irish Village - in Emerald, Australia
Friendly and helpful staff and customers. Great bar snacks.
Food was delicious and service was great. Recommend this pub to everyone. Bonus- kitchen is open all day from 11.30am- 9.00pm.
Highly disappointed with the serving of dinner we received. The parmigiana was burnt, correct gravy & sauces was not received with the plate of foods, the schnitzels with veggies were just a serving with chips & mixed packet peas, corn & beans etc. Will not be spending money here again. When you go out for dinner & spend money you expect great food.
Gone downhill more than a bit. Food was pretty bad
Fantastic yummy meals. We had pumpkin and spinach roll, bangers and mash, steak chips and salad and pie salad and chips. Sooo good
The Guinness was great as was the Pinot Grigio. The steaks were well cooked and tasty as were the chips and salad. The young lady behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. All in all a really nice experience.
Acceptable room but would be nice to have fridge in room
Nice meals and great ambience..and Guinness
Very ordinary!6 items off the menu because they were "sold out".We purchased 2 different tap beers and the barman couldnt fill the glasses-barrels empty.Wanted salted and pepper with our meal, most of the shakers were empty. When we got them, the salt was in the pepper shaker and visa versa. The mash was almost thin enough to need a spoon to pick it up.The cook had a small child sitting on the servery as she prepared the meals.I could go on.
Had a great dinner here last Friday night.Very busy, staff were friendly and helpful.I had the Spagetti Bol which was good.Friends both had pizzas which they were happy with.Salad was fresh and well made.We has Buffalo wings for entre which were well spiced and yummy. The beer was cold.
Young fella who greeted us was excellent and friendly. Put our order in for meals which cam out in a reasonable time. There were 3 people working their buts off and others just let them. The kitchen rang the meal ready bell twice and still no response. Had to give one of the guys a g up?Seriously there was a few customers wont be coming back including us. Get the simple things right bit of work to be done. Disappointed.
Accommodated all dietary requests without issue. Steak was great.
Great place to be in Emerald, music was awesome, karaoke was amazing. Ambience is cool too. Thanks a lot 🌹❤️🌷😍
Nice place to eat very friendly staff
Had a great lunch with a pint of Guinness , great wings and calamari
Irish pub in Emerald. Good food, all day. Good selection of irish beers and whisky. Has a hall of fame with pics of famous Irish bands. Very reminiscent of pubas in the uk. Has a dance floor, if thats your jam. Helpful, friendly and pleasant service. All in all a good place to hang and enjoy a drink and meal.
Great service , great food , good selection of cold beers. Cant ask for more👍
Top place for lunch. Great service.
Great oasis in the desert. Wish l could have stuck around for karaoke. Had to drive back to Cairns 1000 ks back again. No aircon in truck. No wireless . Rooted. Went to bed. Up at a sparrows Gary to do it all again. Balyando road still rooted. Great place the Irish
Lamb shank for dinner was scrumptious except for the red wine which I am not a fan or drinker off otherwise it was top notch.
Great place to hang out on the weekends. Food is great, very social atmosphere, something for everyone. All the Celtic people in town seem to find themselves meeting up here and I think thats kinda cool that theyve all got a universal place to go in town since I do know a lot of Irish and Scottish people in the area. Recommend the pizzas, theyre very tasty. 5 stars.
Typical McDonald’s-esque Irish bar with all the fake antiques you could hope for. Good: Guinness, Kilkenny and even a few craft beers on tap(Green Beacon, Balter). Food: I doubt much of it is made in house, it seemed to be sickly reheated offerings trucked up from elsewhere. Lamb shanks were ruined by sweet mint sauce and even the bangers and mash - which is hard to do poorly - was only half edible. I think the Star next door offered better food, but the Irish is a nicer space to sit and have a drink!
Good place to have a refreshing drink & meals are good. Friday & Saturday nights get a tad busy friendly staff . Good night out
Good hearty food and a great atmosphere. Cold Guinness on tap. Lots of other options for eating/drinking near by.
Nice pub. Food was nice although I had pasta and it was brought out in a kids bowl. Hubby had the Parmy - ok. Prices are a bit rich. But the atmosphere was nice, and staff very friendly
Stopped in for a quick bite. Food was good! I had the chicken parma filo which I enjoyed. Our son loved the bacon/cheese garlic bread.Only thing was carrot and cucumber on a steak sandwich? Steak was cooked well.
Cmon .was really excited to get a feed after campervan. But this food was inedible.. .had the beef Guinness pie was done in a pie maker from good guys. Absolutely disgusting. . Highky recommend dont goi
Atmosphere was ok. Not many people there and we waited almost an hour for our meal (i think they forgot us?). Food - cold frozen veggies, chips ok, ordered the brisket got 3 x very small slices (less than 100g of meat). Partner had 300g rump which was more like 200g. Garlic sauce was a bit weird and had ground bacon or something in it? $8 for a schooner of Great Northern??? Salt in the pepper shakers (beware).
Great place to stop for lunch. The meals were great value. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great with a free pool table.
Food is atrocious. Heated up ready made meals. Cold in the middle and dry. Got up and left still hungry. Ive had burps taste better than their "food"
Dropped in for a coldie and lunch after spending a few hours out at the gemfields. Old mate out at Lake Maraboon had told us that place served great food at good prices. He was not wrong. We had the Spiced bag, two x Guinness pies, a Cider and a Canadian Club all for the great price of $65. Service was quick, drinks were icy cold and food was great. Think we will be back for the Sunday Sesh.
The bar tender that made my French martinis and actually knew what they where without having to explain it to him was so friendly! And cool! But omg . The vegetarian pizza with chipotle swirl is next level , the chef is amazing. Food came out so fast too,I’ve never had such an amazing pizza 🥰 good vibes, drinks , food and staff
Long wait time for our meal & when I asked if our meal would be much longer we discovered that it was left sitting under lights in kitchen. We were the only 2 eating in the pub too, lots of staff so not sure why such a long wait time or lack of customer service. Food was terrible. Definitely wouldn’t go back!
Stuck to floor and table they were so sticky. Not to mention despite having a reservation no tables were set up for us. We waited 30 mins for burnt and bland tasting bread. Another 10 mins before they decide to tell us they are out of something we ordered in our mains. Steaks were served pink and bleeding. Veggies somehow didnt even taste like veggies and the Australian pub meal of chicken parmy was even a huge let down, and burnt. Couldnt even finish our meals, up and out of there without hesitation. 100% CAN SAY I WILL NOT BE RETURNING THERE AGAIN.
I wouldn’t eat there again. I would only go there to have a drink. It smells like stale vomit. I would not have fabric covered chairs in a pub. They’ve got bad smells. Also I ordered a steak from the pub and it was pretty bad. It just looked pathetic. The pepper gravy did not look like any other normal pepper gravy that I get from any other pub. It was dark and tasted very ordinary. It looked like it had been microwaved as it had a thick skin on top of it. Also the steak felt like it had already been precooked and was just warmed up. The only thing they got got half alright were the chips. You would have to be fairly incompetent to stuff up the chips. The salad was dismal as well. The only thing good about my experience there were the barmaids who were friendly and pleasant.
This place has the bones to be great. But the staff are clueless. And the music playing created no atmosphere. The meals were what I would expect from year 7 cookery class at high school. The mash was atrocious. The steamed veg were pathetic and straight from the frozen bag. I could go on. A lack of awareness. A lack of preparation. Good luck people. You really need to be better prepared. Its not rocket science. Quite poor. Quite sad.
Good food and beer selection. However, for an Irish pub, it should probably have more than 1 Irish dish (Guinness Pieon the menu. And when I visited, this wasnt even available!
I like the inside of the pub. When we went they had a limited menu due to them being in the process of reviewing the old menu, but the meals were nice. Slow but friendly service
I stopped in here with my family on a recent trip out west. The pub has a really cool traditional vibe. The first thing we noticed was how friendly the staff were. There were a couple of French? Staff and some aussie staff. All of which made us feel welcome. The meals were insanely good, beers cold and even a kids play/entertainment area. We loved it so much, that we had dinner there again on our return trip, and it was just as good.
Best pub in Emerald . Good selection of beers on tap . Great Irish atmosphere. Staff were a little slow when it came to serving our beers considering there were only 2 other customers in the whole pub at 4pm ?
Great pub. Function was being held out back and restaurant didnt have extra waitstaff. Recommend going somewhere else if there is a function. Otherwise food was okay.⭐⭐ Service⭐⭐⭐ Food⭐⭐⭐⭐ Facilities⭐⭐⭐⭐ Location⭐⭐ ValueHad the rump steak and Guinness pie. Ive had the pie a few years back and it was one of my favorite pies. Lately, not so good so will not be buying again. I think the quality of the meat went down but not the price. Steak was ordered well done and was .. very well done which I understand as customers that order well done tend to be crazy. vegetables were kind of depressing with nothing justifying why the meal was better than a $18 pub steak night.
Typical country Irish pub with some alright food at good prices.Ordered the chicken parmigiana and satay chicken pizza. The parmi has rectangles of ham (as opposed to a slice of ham), was overcooked on the edges and the tomatoes were overpowering. The satay pizza has a weird sweetness to it. Veggies were underdone and flavourless, with only corn, broccoli and cauliflower.Large venue with plenty of space to sit, some games for the little ones and two bars.
Meal - Pretty awful Chicken Parma. Super thin slice of chicken which results in a dry schnitty. Good bread crumbs. Shredded ham on top is pretty gross. Whole thing was an overly salty mess and cant recommend it. Friend had the rumour steak which was a lousy, small, thin piece of meat. Looked average. Tasted good apparently.Place could do with some Irish style meals to match the rest of the place. Menu is fairly generic.Service - Good. Friendly staff.
Who is that self important little man who flits about making customers unhappy? He reminds me of a little dog who thinks he’s tough. The owner should fire him straight up. The rest of the staff are great. Location is great. Atmosphere and staff are great. Can’t comment on the meals as I haven’t had one. Just that little yapper man that makes you want to turn around, walk out and never go back.
I came here 6 years ago and it was phenomenal. Tried again today and it was terrible. Ordered a 500g rump for me and my mate and got a 150g thin piece of steak. Asked the chef and he claimed it "shrunk on the grill". The steak disappointed me less then being blatantly lied to our face. After this he had the poor waitress come to us and explain he was a butcher and knew what he was talking about. See the picture and tell me if its 500g. Dont be a grub and lie to your customers...
This is a terrific pub and actually has an Irish pub feel. Service is great with friendly helpful staff. I’ve eaten here a few times and never had a bad meal. Even had the chef come out and ask me how the meal was one night.<br/>As an added bonus... best house made lemon/lime/bitters ever!
Visited with our two kids and the service was fantastic. They were given a little activity book to keep them entertained. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Meals were fresh, tasty and large.
A great looking pub. Its in fact enormous and seems to go for 200 metres or more. Its in any case a beautiful bar, a bit like youd find in Ireland. The food is fine and the personnel are great. The bar was nearly empty the night I stayed: I even asked myself how such a big bar could possibly keep going with 10 people in the bar.The room was a bit strange as there are no bathrooms attached to the rooms: the showers and toilets are down the hall. The room was however good and clean.
Poor and slow service. Steak and parmigiana not of good quality. Veggies and mash that were offered as side dishes were probably just taken out of freezer and thrown into microwave for a while - dry and tastless. Table next to us complained about steaks being too raw. Cooks are probably some random amateurs. Shame because pub itself has character and good location.Ive seen some really decent country pubs with food and service and prices way better that this one.
Went to The Irish Village for lunch with the family. At first the Guinness and the Kilkenny were not working. Had to order something else, but was given a free drink as compensation. The food we ordered was very good. We had the Thai pizza, beef parma, kids pizza ave the corned beef. All were very good, although the corned beef was a little dry. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere of the place was great too. Just how I imagine an Irish pub. Highly recommended.
