Irish bar serving pub grub & a huge selection of whiskeys in an alley lined with outdoor tables.
Got the Shepards pie, so delicious! 🤤
Fun, kind of funky old time bar. With food. Well be back again
Delicious food and great beers!
Very good atmosphere with lot of beers and a nice bar tender.I warmly recommand this nice spot.
Came upon this bar by chance, we didn’t have anything to eat but did stay for drinks and were there quite a while, the service was good, toilets are nice and clean. There is an outside seating area also
Irish manager was aggressive, rude and potentially violent. picked on an Asian American women over the way she was eating her chips; threw her out of the bar area by grabbing her suitcase thereby making her follow and then throwing it along the ground. When I remonstrated with him he was equally aggressive and expletive towards me. When he wasnt swearing t me and calling me a baldy c..t he was complaining about how hard a day he had had. Then he took the drinks from myself my partner and brother before showing us the door, we got (someof our money back. He may have had a bad day, but that is no excuse for treating his customers with contempt, arrogance and possibly racism.
Nice looking pub with seats indoors and outdoors. Good place to get a drink during the day.
Great place to grab food and drinks. Outdoor seating available.
A little pricey. The drinks were fun, but not very strong. The fried food was greasy and overwhelming, but thats our fault for ordering so much of it.
The place was amazing, the decoration, the toilets and very clean bar. It has sme tables outside that it is really nice in summer, to enjoy a little bit the sun meanwhile you are having a cold guinness. The food price it is average and fantastic if you compare with the quality. Everything looks so fresh and taste delicious. The portions are not humongous like I found other places in america like that but big enough to feel fill up or having problems having the last piece. Definetly one of the places I will go back as soon as I put a foot in San francisco.
Best iris bar near Unión Square. It is located in a small street. They have food and drinks. Open for lunch and dinner.
Fantastic friendly quick service and a good cheese steak sandwhich
I love this casual small Irish pub, especially the more spacious outdoor seating in the alley. It isn’t a fancy place, but the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the food was good. I had a Magner’s cider and the shepherd’s pie and was impressed with the quality of the food. It’s a low key place with a super fun, relaxed vibe! I’d definitely return.
Supposedly a famous place with a lot of history. We went here for a work happy hour and I have no complaints. It was a Thursday evening, not too busy, decent food, decent service. Seemed like a standard Irish pub. The chicken and mashed potatoes was quite good.
I came on Saturday at noon. It was quiet. The bartender was friendly and quick with my order. I got a 7&7 and a Stella Artois spent $18.00. I will be returning.
Great vibe! Loved the fish tacos and the Irish beer. Great spot to visit!
If you are in SF, you have to come to this place. Amazing atmosphere, greats decoration, food is superb, good portions and fair prices.
Great Pub! Love the vibe and plenty of space to sit inside and outside
Great place to "grab a pint". Bartenders are professionals and personable. Patrons local and foreign are treated the same and make it a fantastic hidden gem
Good Irish pub showing English football. The food was good and the Guinness was cold!
Open at 11:30am, The Irish Bank opens a bit late for a weekend brunch. I came here a few times in 2020/2021 and they were closed. Previously, this was one of our favorite happy hour after-work bars when I worked at 333 Bush St. Needless to say, Im glad they are open in 2022. Today, I came here after shopping at Niketown a few blocks away and was in the mood for a full Irish breakfast. The bar was full because of the Champions League Final soccer match. Please note, breakfast is only served on the weekends until 3pm. Their Irish breakfast $18 was good. It is served with a generous portion of baked beans. I liked the eggs, Irish sausages and black/white budding. On the menu, it states Irish bacon is included. Perhaps the chef forgot my Irish bacon because it was missing. I would have preferred Irish soda bread instead of plain toast and also Irish potato farls instead of chips/fries. If we are talking about an authentic full Irish breakfast, they should have included mushrooms and a piece of tomato. Guinness pints are $9.25. Service was excellent.
Perfect Irish Pub with good beer, good food for reasonable prices 👍Could recommend the Irish Stew
Found the cool vibe Irish bar that serves lunch and dinner. Great entrance way into the bar. Bartender was attentive and friendly.
After a 21 hour day I was hoping for sustenance. I was pleasantly surprised by Curry Chicken over Fries. Turned out to be one of the best meals served by very pleasant bar staff Ive had recently.
The most amazing spot - the staff are SO friendly, youll feel at home from the minute you walk in. The atmosphere is so casual and fun, and the food and drinks are excellent. I love the little pew = confessional alcove which can provide some privacy - its actually an excellent date spot! - and then the two larger rooms have a great setup, plus a long bar and outdoor seating. Couldnt ask for more <3
Great Irish pub.I had dinner and drinks at the bar.
One of my favorites in SF. The food is good, wings are delicious. Drinks are strong. Good variety of beers. And just a good place overall. They have tons of outdoor seating!
Walking distance from Grand Ave. Near China Town. Great drinks. Seems very Irish and very local. Staff was attentive and fun. Great the 1st time, the 2nd time, and the 3rd time. Maybe I have a problem hahaha.
Definitely a little divey... but damn is it a good time. Came here for St. patricks and they were quick to pour. Love that they opened the alley way behind for q dj, see photos, incredibly fun. Only 4 stars for cleanliness.
Best Irish stew. A must visit every SF trip. Plus the staff is awesome, major win.
Cool 😎 alley setting down the street from China 🇨🇳 town. Drinks 🍹 were decent and the ambiance was surely reminiscent of the ‘red light 💡 district’ 😉 The service was goods for food 🍱 was on point as well. Will be coming back next time we are in the area.
The bar was really cozy and homey inside but we opted to sit on one of the tables outside as there were several tables available to enjoy the breezy weather. We had two bartenders who were fantastic this evening. My party was drinking 805s and I had a light and refreshing cucumber gimlet. There is was red lights outside so my photo arent the best. I highly recommend this place for late night drinking!
Horrible food, the slowest service, I ask to change the awfully sandwich of a pice of tire and never serves the other plate; very disappointing; I’m wondering what they do with a full restaurant! Cheff Ramsay diamond opportunity here! (Share you a photo of a good looking place, with no service spirit).
Super delicious! Bacon cheeseburger + fries was $22. Big portions. Fresh ingredients.I also have had the blue cheese fries also really great. Outdoor patio tables for dining or lounging. Indoor dining as well.
Great neighborhood pub with cold Smithwick ale and a hot, delicious shepherds pie! Love this place.
Very traditional pub. Although the initial greeting in the bar wasnt the most welcoming the overall service was great. The bar tender was attentive to every table making sure we all had what we needed. I had previously only ever had the chicken tenders, this time round I got the fish and chips and they were pretty solid, though I almost wish I had 1 more piece of fish.
Was staying in a hotel nearby and yhis was the only place close bythat was open past 8pm. Decided to have dinner here and was not disappointed! Usually Im a bit shy walking into bars but I was quickly greeted by the friendly staff and felt welcomed to dine there. I ordered the beef stew which was very tasty and flavorful. My husband got the fish and chips and was happy with it. Pleasant dinner!
Looking for a pint while walking through the city? Then stop here. Been walking all day with my wife and found this Irish oasis. Plenty of space in the alley to distance. The seating inside was also spaced appropriately. Beer choices were plentiful and chilled just right. A perfectly poured Guinness is just what you need to lift your spirits also. This is a must visit when in town.
Great food and very attentive and friendly service. A good amount of seating inside and outside.
The “Legendary” Irish Bank. Great place for gatherings and food. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. The food is authentic and delicious. Bangers and mash is my personal fav. Considering the times, their outside space is perfect. Many good times were had here throughout the years. Glad to see they’re surviving. Dos rounds up 🥃🥃🍺🍺
If youre from the UK, this is the closest to real fish and chips you will get in the area. The bar was nice, the food good and the staff were good too. We went in a couple of hours before the super bowl and all was good still.
We had a surprisingly good dinner at the Bank last night. The chicken wings were respectable, as was the Malay curry! Service was fine and the atmosphere is comfortable. Tons of outdoor seating for nice nights.
Visited recently on a work trip with some colleagues, dropping by just as it was getting dark. We took a table outside in the alley (much nicer than it soundsand started off with drinks. The drinks were good, price was reasonable. Food is standard Irish pub food, good quality. Our waitress helped me acquire some curried chips which was a nice touch.Overall, its a good bar/restaurant, serving good quality food and they dont cheat on the drinks either, or water them down as far as we could tell. And we conducted a thorough test. Definitely recommended for an evening, or to drop in after work.Pro tip: The bouncer/assistant/maitred who greets you when you walk up and helps you get a seat, looks EXACTLY like a customer so we didnt recognize at first that he worked there and tried to walk past him. But he was a good guy and fine about it.
Good vibe and friendly staff are what the Irish Bank has going for it. Drink prices are ok by SF standards. The music was a bit loud for a pub, making it difficult to visit.
Its a good place. The appetizers have a fair price and theres a good amount of options. Nice list of beers (on tap and bottledand, of course, youll find a Guinness.
I didnt actually make it inside, but I went to the block party they put on for St. Paddys Day 2018, and it was awesome.Headlined by the Quiet Men who are an excellent Bay Area Irish rock band. The whole place was packed and rocking all day.
Cool spot with big portions, a lively atmosphere, and reasonable prices for the location near Union Square. Get your drink on Irish style.
Got to the bar and had prompt service. Good fish tacos, even with a minor mistake with my “hold the...” request. Probably a bit overpriced, but the atmosphere an Irish pub should have (well, an American urban version). Excellent bar staff. Worth visiting.
Ok Irish bar but our server kept forgetting requests like hot sauce for the quesadilla and additional beer orders. She was kind of snippy and didn’t apologize. Prices are reasonable.
The food is definitely a two but the atmosphere and the establishment is worth visiting. Check it out
