Very bad waited over an hour and when food came it was cold and not worth the price the butter chicken roti roll barely has meat in it not worth the price and the knifes were blunt we couldnt cut through our food

To be clear it only gets 1 star because I cant rate it zero stars. Food was absolutely atrocious and completely bland. Service was bad. They messed up our order and gave my vegetarian mother chicken. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Youd be better off eating out of a garbage bin — that way you wouldnt have to deal w/ the terrible manager as well.

Drove almost 100km to Curry Gate and back home.Would I do it again? Certainly.Incredible service, polite and friendly. Knowledgeable and not shy to make suggestions.Good is well priced and delicious, although delicious feels like an understatement.Best curry experience Ive had in my life.

Very tasty curries, big variety. Service was a bit slow would recommend ordering ahead. Payment can be made with cash or card.

We ordered vegetarian curries and naan at this restaurant on 3 September, it was a huge disappointment as they seem to be using packet mixes for their curries. The paneer was not fresh, the paneer palak was definitely kept in the freezer and heated. The naan was very dry. The complimentary rice was not fresh at all. My wife and I had stomach pains afterwards. We had a very bad experience. We would not recommend this restaurant.

We were offered a special and sadly, the chicken was old, there was a masala paste just smeared on, the chips had just been warmed and served and the naan was like rubber.Wont be keen to visit again

Sad to see the place. Since they moved shop to there new premise the quality of food has gone down. Mixed our order up. Gave the wrong food. When we phoned we were promised our order fixed and samoosas. They replaced our main order but not the samoosas promised. It cost petrol to drive up and down. We wont be coming back.The chicken Breyani tasted like it was burned not like before something was missing. It is sad.

This is my second time at India Gate and Ive brought along my closest friends to come and try the lamb currys here at India Gate Resturant, I have been all over at the the other popular Indian Resturants in vanderbaijl, lenasia, Roshnee ect, and yours is the BOMB!!*

India Gate is the best Indian restaurant in town. They use authentic spices and the food is really amazing. The portions are great and I would definitely recommend it for people who enjoy spicy food.

Had take Aways yesterday.. Fast, efficient and quite frankly one of the tastiest curries had here in SA... Will definitely be back.

The food served here is delicious. You will have to struggle for indian food if you look away from this place. Still, ghe food is great and service on point. Food is prepared fresh so it may take some time byt wait is worth the curries and dishes served. Its been my 2nd visit to India Gate. First I had Lamb Korma and Butter Naan. Yesterday I tried their Samoosas and Dhal Curry. Both wasordered as take aways. I placed my order via phone ths 1st time and yesterday I waited. Was told it would take 20min but ended up waiting 40min. So best 2 rather phone before. Staff very friendly and samoosas great. I just think on both experiences that the food needed more authentic indian spice. But not bad at all. I think a sit down meal would be great as it looks very neat and tidy

Food was good, but wait was long. Could only choose between 3 types of cooldrink, none that I drink.It is new and still needs a lot of tlc to get it up to standard.

Found a fly in my chicken briyani.... The waiter called a woman who he referred to as "madam" and when she arrived at our table she acted surprised and stated that they had just fumigated this morning and implying that because of fumigation the fly fell in the briyani.The lady didnt apologize she came with lousy excuse of the fumigation..... Overall bad experience

The atmosphere of this place is amazing. All the staff are friendly and they definitely look after their customers.The food was great and the service was fast .

I loved their food a lot, but for the last 3 times we ate there we had terrible stomach problems the next day. The first time I thought it could be something else, the second time I had a bit of my butter chicken left over and the next morning it smelled off and again with the stomach problems, the third time we took the bunny chow and me and my boyfriend AGAIN had stomach problems.I always wondered why the place is always empty when I drive past, except for the expensive pricing.Sad to say, but they wont be seeing us again.

Wow! What an absolutely fabulous dining experience! Lovely, welcoming decor with comfy chairs, great service, amazingly tasty food with generous portions and desert was a lovely ending to a wonderful meal. Without a doubt, the best Butter Chicken in S.A. is served here! Definitely a new favourite!

Had the mutton breyani and Chinese vegetable soup. Both servings were tasty and the portions very generous, too generous in my opinion.

Food tastes good, the restaurant is a bit dark for my liking unless its an intimate dinning. The portions are also satisfactory.

Nice place. Helpful staff. Meal was very tasty though the prawns could have been softer. Heads up: there was a huge difference between the price on the menu and the price on the bill.

This Restaurant standard of food is not what it was before. I had a lamb bunny chow tonight. There were more bones than meat and the meat was difficult to chew. Why do Restaurants start off great and then end up like this ? Im done .

Had a bad experience! We order drinks and starters, went out for a smoke came back and our drinks was not even out yet. Our starters and drinks came at the same time. After that we waited almost 45min in this time we asked the waiter are they closing as they where cleaning the restaurant this was about 19:15 ons a Sunday evening. She said no we can relax. While still waiting for them to come and take our order for mains they just keep on walking around us. We decided then to leave and go to Spur. As we went to pay our account it was already printed. We asked again is the kitchen closed her respons was no. We really wanted to try there food. We said okay we wanted to order mains and that no one came to ask. Then she said okay do you want to wait???? We were so upset and just wanted to leave. Paid our bill not giving a tips due to the serves and rude faces was given to us. Some people like this place but as for us they will not see us again!

Prices are good food is not bad homestyle not 5 star but not bad eithet

Enjoyed a lovely Butter chicken, Chicken breyani and Chicken Korma as a family. Owner very friendly and helpful. Would really visit again. They are waiting for their liquor licence, could perhaps bring in some home-made lemonade, fruit juices, coffee, cafe late, etc. It was something different.

Well firstly rhe stadf is so rude they dont greet you when you enter.Secondly I dont understand why I cant choose between naan or rice for my meal.. why should I pay extra for naan when I dont want rice?Third they got my order wrong.And to make it all worse I almost waited an hour for my food
