No. 160號, Section 3, Ren'ai Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106, Taipei
In a redbrick building in the Da'an District, this modern hotel is 3 km from the Taipei 101 skyscraper, 8 minutes' walk from Da'an MRT station and 6 km from the Taipei International Convention Center.Relaxed rooms with rosewood furniture offer minibars, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, plus tea and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms and studios add minifridges and access to a private lounge; suites have sitting areas. Room service is offered. There are 7 dining options, including an American buffet eatery, an English pub and a Chinese restaurant. There's also a seasonal outdoor pool and a gym, plus a business center, a ballroom and 2 meeting rooms.
At the first sight, I underestimate this place. Since looks like old building. But when entering the place, I do love this place! Many unique sculpture. They have certificate for halal food. Coming here for seminar and found this is beautiful place with extraordinary delicious food (except scalop soup 😂)
Had an excellent stay this past weekend. From check-in to check-out. Clean, quiet, excellent room, good facilities, very nice pool. Will definitely stay again.
I really like this hotel, friendly service and good quality. Close to public transportation.
We spent a night at 1268 for mid autumn festival. The room is kept clean and tasteful designedThe staff at the hotel reception is warm and helpfulThe lobby is grand and elegant as it always isThe breakfast is fresh and deliciousThe location is greatWhat’s more, we got a box of moon cakes as a gift for free.
A very pleasant stay for my random weekend getaway!High quality wooden furnitures neatly fitted into a small but cozy room-- the fitting is so nicely done that you still feel spacious and comfortable =] friendly and helpful staff, nice food, plus I really like the fruits the hotel provides as a welcome gift =] Will definitely come again
the staff can explained about what you want to do & order
Awesome stay!! Great value for this 5-star quality room. The building is old but everything is still maintained perfectly. The bed is super comfortable, I slept like a baby. The bathroom comes with tub and amenities, everything is so satisfying for me 👌🏼. Great location in central Taipei and close to MRT station. Super friendly staffs too. Would definitely love to stay again! The only downside is the parking lot in the basement which can only be reached by stairs.
great location, but in urgent need of some major renovation ....
Visited the Chinese restaurant with my family.Decent food and great hospitality.
Decent hotel to stay, hotel has a nice pool to enjoy. Food is good and they have many restaurants serving multiple cuisine.Large rooms and the hotel staff are very nice and attend to any issues very efficiently.Toilets are equipped with heated seats and water spray with control.
This is a review for the Pearl River Dim Sum restaurant in the Howard Hotel.Very authentic dim sum and reasonably priced! Make sure to get the loofah & clam soup. The desserts was also very accessible and delicious and not too sweet. The service was attentive and fast.
Have stayed here many times when visiting in Taipei on business. This hotel is right in the shopping areas of Taipei and a very short taxi ride to Taipei 101. Hotel is clean and staff is very good. The food is ok, simplistic. Room service is very good! Rooms are very spacious.
Old Hotel - less busy - low profileShopping but they have a pretty good Dim -SumRestaurant! Hence the 5/5 stars!
I lived at the hotel again on Oct 3, 2021. I think that their service was fabulous! At the moment, my dad and I carried a lot of suitcases. Their employees came to help us instantly when he saw it. We appreciated his cooperation. However, I was a little bit disappointed about their breakfast. We got several breakfast boxes at the restaurant. However, there were full of pickles in the boxes. Most of them are suitable for gruel, or they might taste salty. If they could use stir-fried vegetables or other dishes instead of pickles, it would be better. However, I am still willing to visit the hotel again. Also, I hope to eat a buffet-style breakfast after the pandemic.
The room is clean and luxury. Staffs are very helpful although their English is not very good.Breakfast is disappointing for a 5 stars hotel.
Thanks for all the arrangement especially during this difficult time. Really appreciate Mr. Wen and Mr. Louis!
I like the hotel located in central Taipei. Near to MRT station, helpful staff, clean and spacious public area and comfy guest room are attractive for me to stay here. Guest room features Ming style furniture, good quality mattress and soft pillows. warm lighting, quiet aircon make you relax in the hotel. even standard room equips bath tub. It’s not a new building but owns itself style. several good and famous restaurants inside it. Worthy to visit it and stay here if you want to find an elegant place in Taipei. Highly recommended their bakery in ground floor.
Food great, service great. Came here since I was two years old, the third generation of my family to come dine here.
Food at Formosa is amazing!!!! So so so fresh and tasty Taiwanese food. Great staff too!
my sister had her 18th birthday there and the place is very clean and amazing! allan helped us a lot during our stay there!
Ms. Wu is very polite and patient when serving my old parents. Much much appreciate her professional standard.
Nice hotel in a good location. The staff are very nice and helpful. Can only recommend it.
The food is outstanding and not to mention their services is even better! We have a very pleasant gathering and thanks for Howard’s colleagues delivering such wonderful dining experience.@Formosa Restaurant, 施凱祥領班Kevin
I had a buffet lunch in the weekday at the central plaza on the ground floor. There are sufficient choices to choose. Most of them are the Taiwanese/Chinese dishes and Japanese sushi. The overage experience on the foods are above average.
Food are excellent, the service is great!I love their cuisine, such as crispy chicken, salty crispy shrimp, and stinky tofu!!
Happy New Year!My family, my wife and I have been staying at this wonderful hotel for sometime. My friends asks me, why don’t I stay at the Doubletree (I am a Hilton HHonors Gold Member), or the Regent, Sheraton (my old hotelI worked there for 20 years. I said to them, I stay at the Howard Plaza for a number of reasons.1The staffs.2Its like a family (my homeevery time I come back to Taipei.3The convenience for my business.4Everyone recognize my wife and I.5The owners of this hotel treats the staffs with respect and recognition.I have been in the hospitality industry for over 40 years. Starting with Starwood, Hilton, Marriott and 2 independent chain hotels.Worked in Taiwan, Shanghai, US, Thailand.Customer recognition and consistency is what I value when I stay at a hotel.Your staffs, from Concierge, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Executive Lounge (Ariel, Haley, Jo and Jennifer). These are the staffs and jewels of this hotel that makes the guests want to return. The lounge and housekeeping staffs knows the type of pillow I prefer, blood pressure monitor, and so much more, room service knows the condiments I like, they know I like my food hot,Of course, because of the pandemic, the travel industry is badly affected. Also affected are my family hotels back in Malaysia and Sydney. People asks why don’t I go back to be with my own hotels, I tell them, its because they run hotels differently from I do.Whoever reads this comment, I hope that your staffs needs recognition from Management. I have heard that there is a new GM at the hotel. I sincerely hope that the GM loves the staffs like I love them. Especially the lovely and hard working ladies at the lounge and front desk, housekeeping.I just ordered my room service and my dinner is here.I would love to meet the new GM on my next stay which is about 3 weeks from today.I will go and have my dinner now.Have a great New Year.Things will be back to 80% normal by the middle of this year.Thank you for reading this long comment.Regards,David
Food selection was good, but not so tasty as many other similar buffets.
Service is good and very personalized. Ariel and Haley working in the executive Lounge are excellent. They always think ahead for the guests.
Delicious!!!This soup 🍲 is harmonic in everyway.Sugar, Salt, spices, the consistency of the noodles everything together creates this wonderful soup. The location fits also perfect! It is a real experience 😉
Great and convenient location which is very close (and just a quick stroll awayto major shopping malls and restaurants in Taipei. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are not too modern, (comparable to other hotels you can stay in Taipeibut the bed itself is really comfortable.Although it can get quite busy, the breakfast buffet has good choices and caters for both Western and Asian cuisine. I highly recommend the beef noodle soup from one of the restaurants in this hotel. It is truly underrated.
Good overall despite some real issues. There was a 35 minute wait in a long line to check in, which was there from at least 3:30 when I arrived, until at least 8:00 when I came back from dinner. It was a long weekend, but check-in facilities should match room capacity. While checking me in, Eric pulled down his mask to wipe his nose on the back of his hand. This would be shocking even without the pandemic.Less importantly, the carpet in my room was covered in stains. There was no power outlet near the bed. Loud bumping noises could be heard through the walls every couple of hours, often waking me throughout the night. Housekeeping didn’t come until I called them at 3:30. The five floors of shops are 95% no name old ladies clothing. Some things were excellent. I tried two of the three breakfast buffets and they were awesome, with probably 10-15 really high quality meat and fish options (although nothing for vegans). The location is good, with bus stops right outside and MRT stations nearby, and countless shopping and dining options within a 20 minute walk. The gym is pretty good, but I wish it opened before 6:30. The chocolate macaroons from the bakery are amazing!Overall, it’s a very good hotel and I would stay here again, but I hope they speed up the check-in process and also improve service standards at check-in and check-out.
The staff were very nice and friendly and easy to befriend also the variety of food in the buffets was simply excellent and the rooms were clean and very nice and they were very neat and the refrigerator is packed with lovely drinks also the little treats were very nice in the bar on the first floor lobby had the most delicious drinks we had a great view I love the rainbow colored floors also I Love the glass windows on the elevators ,the Front desk people were so friendly and the balcony of the rooms were very nice
To have five stars the room I dont think so. It is two with five stars. the positive the breakfast on the second floor good and also the attention. Sunday breakfast was on the first floor. its a disaster another dimension is such a different place! the people are not friendly and the food is nothing to see. And the cost was high. I think there are many three or four star options that can beat it.
First impression.... Bad... Long lines on check-in and check-out. It should be no surprise that this is a holiday weekend.... Check-in procedure gets one star...Ok. I have to edit this... The hotel is clean the room is nice and dinner at Formosa was a delight. Now I am looking forward to breakfast.
Its an old hotel and a very traditional restaurant. Locals will know why its really good and can appreciate the taste. If youre looking for something that is more modern, then this place might not be for you. Had a great time with family and good food. Their traditional desserts arent for everyone, but my parents liked them very much.
Clean and comfy hotel rooms with special treats and great ambience. Although my visit just to see my acquaintances, and when we have a talk in the room, I was amazed by the features. And then, because the hotel is the old-known famous hotels, it have they own bus station that directly go to Taoyuan Taiwan International Airports, it is Bus No 1960 which cost you 145 NTD a trip, and take around 50min. The bus start from 5am, and services depart every 15 or 30 mins.
We chose this hotel because of its location. It is conveniently located in the center of the city, and is a 5-min. walk to two MRT lines (Blue or Redwhich we took to visit Taipei 101, and to two different night markets (Shilin or Raohe). The hotel staff is fully supported by a dedicated staff, and the concierge is available from very early in the morning to very late in the evening. The service provided by the staff deserves recognition. The breakfast atrium is in an open space in the middle of the complex and the buffet breakfast is sumptuous with both Western Style and Chinese+Japanese style breakfast. I will choose to stay there again on our next visit.
Not the most upscale or three most fancy hotel, but it is modern and clean. The walls are a little thin, you can hear people talking outside. Service is good but not great. The room I have has a hairdryer that only now cool air. I asked the front desk for a new one, but it never came. Im not sure if it was a language barrier thing it what. Other than that the overall service was good. They do do money exchange, but they dont give you the best rate. If you need to exchange money and can wait, I would recommend going to the bank.
Good hotel! Neat and clean with good service. Restaurants and bars available. Pool was closed though it is a five star hotel. Gym and sauna facilities available. Both Asian and western options available for breakfast. Rooms are not spacious and sometimes you end up walking 250 to 300 steps to reach room from elevators, considering the number of rooms available, elevators are less and only in one area.
The Hotel was located in a perfect spot in Taipei. The service was great and people friendly. Very easy to get to and from. It is a business Hotel so a lot of people. I would stay again. The rooms though where 3 Star. My Carpet and chair was stained. Could do with a decent deep clean.
Spacious room. Good breakfast and options available at different breakfast area. Service of the hotel staff was also good. Accessible to subway and bus lines. In house shopping mall. The breakfast package for early departure guests are also very good.
Wonderful hotel. I was here a couple of years ago, and broke out in hives all over. The concierge was nice enough to take me to the hospital nearby, and helped me check-in (with follow-up a couple of days later to see how I was doing). This time, thankfully no more hives. Amenities in the rooms are spot-on, and cover all our needs. It really shows how much thought the team at the Howard put into ensuring great guest experiences. Extra kudos to the housekeeping team. They act super fast, and always do a wonderful job replenishing items and tidying up the rooms.Last but not least, the location is hard to beat. Its walking distance to metro stations and great food.Howard is for sure my No. 1 pick for hotels in Taipei.
The location of the hotel was very excellent for our intended visit. The conceirge was helpful and their instructions helped us from getting lost. We had an early flight, and they provided a boxed breakfast, in lieu of buffet breakfast, which was very nice. Order that at check-in. Two types of breakfast buffet to choose from. Lots of selection from each - I tried each. Complimentary water is available (specifically labelledin room which is great for those whose stomach like to argue.
Vistied for the buffet with a work party. All you can eat, except very little you wish to do so. Limited selection on rather unappetising dishes. Mostly cold, greasy stuff. The on the bone meat is dry like eating a shoe, . No beer included included in the price, just poor quality fruit juice, water or coffee. If you want a decent buffet, go elsewhere.
Room view was stunning! Ask to stay at 1021. Hot spring is a must try, fairly modern rooms, didn’t interact as much with staff so not sure on that area. The sky Lounge is by far the BEST I ever seen, oww and Sara who works there is just the cutest friendly thing!!! She will take EXCELLENT Photos of you and the Stunning view wow!!! Would stay there anytime!!!
Wow, just wow! This hotels buffet is not only delicious but beautiful. Theres a gigantic waterfall in the center of the floor that is just so majestic. They even have ambient music. Its a bit unsettling though since some of it relates to Buddhism and spiritualism. The only thing is that the dessert can only be accessed by a staff. Now thats a no-no. You never do that. People feel guilty when they have dessert and they dont want a witness. The variety isnf that impressing though.Too bad we didnt get to check out the rest of the hotel. But besides all that, this place has an excellent buffet!
The worest so call 4 stars hotel I have ever been. This type of facility and room size its like 1-2 star motel. Its so old and so small. Staff service is good but they forgot to clean my room. They turn off lights on the aisle, it looks like hunted place at night. Overall experience is very bad except staff Service. I cant believe still so many people stay here. You can find much much better hotel with this price in Taipei. ex. Evergreen hotel high classic extremely clean.
I gave this rating because the hotel claims 5-star status, which I disagree with. Yes, it is a nice hotel but I feel it is a bit worn around the edges to claim such top shelf status. Unlike most contemporary hotels your room door will not close behind you even with a little push - be careful. There are two breakfast lounges: one for Western food and one for Asian food. Avoid the "western breakfast" and choose the Asian breakfast buffet, always, if only because you get some warm milk for your coffee and the "Western" breakfast only gives you little plastic liquid creamer. If thats culturally "Western" I cant decide if it offends me or I am ashamed of my artificially processed world image. Also, that buffet room is decorated with US-centric imagery, which I also find odd and a bit irritating; as if: "Welcome to Taipei. Please enjoy dining under a poster of a bald eagle on a stars-and-stripes background." Kinda funny. Kinda not. Its as if "the western world is America." Hundreds of millions would disagree. Also, I didnt feel it is 5-star food, either. Not bad but not 5-star. Everyone is nice and helpful so the staff is great.
Although this hotel is centrally located, it is old and outdated. I also got a great bout of food poisoning from the beef noodles so beware when you eat in the restaurant. Ok, the good news. The staff was helpful and pleasant will make you feel comfortable and welcome.
Great hotel, the service is top notch and the rooms are clean. Its an older hotel, but they kept it in good shape. At peak times with the large groups are coming in, there are long waits at the elevators and their two cafés get filled up. Though thats just a downside of staying at a popular hotel.
