The House in Oxford

RUINEED THE NIGHT. Lady at bar with black had served 5 people before us, and left us waiting nearly an hour to get one drink whilst chatting to people at the bar, despite me politely asking. This was done on purpose. Lovely bar and staff, shame about the lady letting the side down completely. Will not return after being spoken to so rudely. Great vibe otherwise!

Deeply unprofessional, stood half an hour in front of the bar and could not get served while several people (some of them severely drunk and shoutingwho arrived after me were. Messy, inefficient, unhygienic setup and procedures, sloppy drinks probing mixing. First and last time here.

Great cocktails at a very reasonable price. Worth a visit.

It was quiet on the night I went but the staff were really friendly and made great cocktails. I had their whisky ones and would definitely recommend. As a solo punter its nice to find friendly staff to chat with. There is also a pool table upstairs and nice little armchairs to relax in. Ill definitely be back next time I come to Oxford. Thanks!

Two words……Happy Hour!

Had a surprise birthday party for my son here yesterday. The venue is great! Very spacious, comfortable and lots of pretty sparkly lights. They also let us in early to set up. The staff are fantastic, especially Joe and Mark. Really friendly, helpful and make great cocktails. Perfect venue for a party

Went for some birthday drinks - great, friendly service and good quality mixes. Would recommend.

Best cocktail bar in Oxford, bar none.

A great cosy bar with a surprisingly large and varied selection of drinks and cocktails. Tried lots of new ones, some hit, some didnt, but it was a very relaxed atmosphere where I felt comfortable trying new things. And the table service was pretty good so was happy to tip. I went off peak with friends casually after a meal and would go back for sure.

Expert mixology. Modern vibe. Good basle at Happy Hour.

Tucked out of the way, The House is a little gem. Friendly staff and great service. Great choice of cocktails and happy hour means it worth booking an early table. Internal and external seating available.

Nice little bar that serves nice drinks and has comfortable seating and nice atmosphere. Sat upstairs and the large seats were really comfy. Drinks are nice and not too overpriced and their selection is great. Large glasses and friendly staff too. Music is slightly loud for a bar but it’s still a nice atmosphere

Went recently to this lovely cocktail bar, its a little hidden gem! The drinks were a lot better then what we anticipated, which was a lovely surprise.Staff was very friendly and nice to us and specially sweet curly haired boy.

Covid safe cocktails at the house very nice probably safer to book a table rather than face disappointment of not being able to get seated we were lucky app works well there but cash can still be used 😉

Fun place, great atmosphere, fabulous drinks and lovely staff.

Needs to take it self a little more seriously if it wants to survive. Cocktails looked lifeless and if it were not for the pool table half of the party of 20 of us would of gone.

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent selection of cocktails, quality ingredients and nice garnishes, and bartenders both skilled and friendly. Visiting Oxford on a chilly, rainy night, there were bars and pubs everywhere but I went into three and found I just could not stay. This one was my last attempt and it was perfect, just what I was looking for! Great happy hour specials as well. No regrets.

Great cocktails 🍸 the espresso martini being my fave, you can tell they use quality ingredients there’s a really nice outside area you can smoke in and it’s covered from the rain.

Great selection of cocktails and a very generous happy hour. Sister bar to The Duke of Cambridge on Little Clarendon Street but does not have beer on tap, so whilst you can get a house beer on happy hour, its a bottle oh Heineken rather than two thirds of draught beer. My favourite cocktail here is Bloody Mary, and they do a bloody good one at that!

I LOVE this cocktail bar! I have been to The House quite a few times now and have always been impressed. The drinks are delicious (I’ve basically tried them all), the staff are friendly and the drinks are really well priced. I highly recommend having a drink or two with a group of friends at happy hour. There is seating inside and outside. I will definitely be going here again and again.

The cocktails are top quality, I would recommend the espresso martini, good music outdoor smoking a real class to it

Great cocktails for very good value during happy hour, comfy sofas and the candles and music create a nice atmosphere.

Probably my favourite cocktail bar in Oxford. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. If you can visit in their happy hour then the drinks are good value compared to elsewhere in Oxford. Upstairs they have a pool table and board games. Definitely worth a visit as a couple or a small group.

The place is devoid of any personality. Regardless, its ideal for a drink with short queues. The prices are reasonable and service is good.

Very well made classic cocktails. The place feels quite classy with prices to match. Two out of the three times Ive been, Ive been at an event where drinks were included and in that capacity, I cant fault the place at all.

This is a great bar which is usually open till late. The bar is on the ground floor, with additional seating and a pool table upstairs. The music was good and the cocktails were excellent.
