Cheery local coffee shop & bistro for simple home-cooked food from breakfast to pasta and panini.
Dissatisfied entirely. Order Full English Breakfast with tea. Tea and Breakfast arrived together as requested. Tea was a small espresso cup on a saucer. The tea came in a milk jar with a lid and I had to ask for milk. The breakfast was as advertised, however, the plate was cold and so was the food after less than 5 minutes! The eggs were under cooked and the plate too small for the serving (toasted bread kept falling off the plate). The atmosphere was good, the initial waitress adequate but no-one asked if everything was fine otherwise I would have expressed my dissatisfaction on site.
Super friendly service and extremely hot coffee. Pastries were good but we didnt ask for them to be heated.
We had the most wonderful full English at The Hothouse this summer! The owner and wait stuff were attentive, cheerful and helpful. The food was great! To top it all off, the owner gave us a special pint glass when I offered to buy it. Amazing! Thank you
Nice ambience and staff, very warm and welcoming 👍🏼
A pint for £6.50. Check prices before ordering.
The koshari is excellent! Also surprisingly hard to find this dish being served in London but fortunately they have it right here in Chiswick
We had seen the great reviews but unfortunately turned up and was told the chef was really angry about serving food and the waitress was holding back tears. We waited 25 mins for our drinks and the avocado and halloumi was awful. The sauces we asked for came once we finished the food and the staff couldn’t handle a small amount of customers. On another day it might be good but we were very disappointed
Such cute vibes and a lovely breakfast!! Accommodated us as a large group on short notice and the food was fantastic! Definitely will come here again
Friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Had a nice breakfast. Reasonably priced. They accept cash too.
Ladies and gents, the issue with the lager has been sorted out. Come in and enjoy the drinks at the HH.
A fantastic place to start in a day with music of Miles Davis and a beautiful strong Amricano combined with an delicious English breakfast.Even the little dog got his own sausage served by an very polite owner. The whole team is very accommodating.Thank you for everything and see you soon.
Out of this world. Friendly, caring, good vibes all around. If your around Turnham green, step in, you wont regret.
As nice as it is the service was very slow.A ten percent "voluntary " service tip added without being told about it ,only a sign.Food good but pricy
An absolute disappointment in every sense of the word. A disaster is likely to happen if its management don’t take control and improve.Every single order we have placed came with a problem associated with it. It ranged from hygiene to non-allergy compliance. The orders also came fragmented and chips followed after the food turned cold or was consumed. One of the orders had a long grey hair on top of the food. Looks like the chef is not wearing a proper cover over his head and/or beard. This went back but to be honest it wasn’t replaced. So it was a turn off and the trust had already been shaken with this place. The second order was burger with no cheese. It came with residual cheese still hanging on the bread and on the meat. Again, this was sent back. Once more the non-compliant chef cut corners and scraped the cheese off the burger and send it back. Those with allergies beware and big time. The so called sous chef left the kitchen to blame the waitress, who is not at fault, for all those issues then started to clean the tables. Cross contaminations and rule breaking, again, at its highest. The toilets were dirty and no soap was provided. The Council ought to pay them an immediate visit.Never again and those of you with allergies just stay away.
Genuinely some of the worst breakfast food Ive had from a cafe for a long time. I had veggie breakfast - hash brown tasted and smelt off (could smell them even from the plate on table), veggies were very oily and small serving of sourdough - overall poor meal. My partner had pancakes, they were very salty and texture was chewy - cream on side was bland. The coffee I had was fine. We werent offered any sort of discount, only service surcharge was removed. Cant recommend this place at all.
Not worth it, I had ordered the pancakes with strawberries and cream, the pancakes were salty and the cream was runny and flavourless and my drink never arrived. My partner ordered the veggie breakfast and it was all oily and the hash browns were grey and had a disgusting oder. When making a complaint the waitstaff only took off the 10% optional service charge and nothing more, making the inedible food over £20. Would not recommend this place to anyone for breakfast.
Wonderful food. Affordable. I’ve had poached eggs, avocado and hallumi cheese. Yummy and quick service. It’s clean in here. The chef and manager are super friendly and efficient. Love it here.Apparently it has music and karaoke on Thursday to Sundays based in Chiswick. It’s got a really relaxed and chilled vibe for lunch. It’s fabulous 💜
Great food ,good portions at a fair price. Middle Eastern fare, North African to British a nice variety of meals and drinks to choose from , with friendly service. Worth a visit on your lunch break or when you want to meet friends for a chat and snack. Recommended 😉👍🏼
I just visited this place and I totally recommend it. It was amazing service, and they have the best burgers and pancakes! Everyone was so friendly too.
This was a fantastic find. Great coffee, excellent food if you like vegetarian menu. Other food options for the children were great. Excellent service would definitely return regularly if they were closer to home.
RAW EGG: worst customer service experience EVER. Me and my bf went for brunch. My bf had 2 poached eggs in his order and he saved one to eat at the end. To our utter shock and disgust, when he cut into the poached egg, completely raw egg spilled out. We waited until a waitress came to collect our plates to mention it, as we wanted to finish our coffees first. Once we mentioned it, and she saw the raw egg, we requested that the item be taken off the bill, or even just the eggs. Then the manager came over with the bill and said with a smile "we dont do that. We cant just take off an egg from the price of the meal". NO apology, no concern for feeding us a raw egg. I requested in that case he take the entire item off the bill ,and he took that as if we were trying to score a free meal, and started arguing with me! The reasoning was that we shouldnt have waited until my bf finished eating everythin else on the plate! He wouldnt accept that he left the egg to the end. As if he would eat other food covered with raw egg. The delusion was just astounding. When I said this was the worst customer service Ive received he agreed the 10% discretionary service charge can be take off (lol). It was so insulting and pathetic, and just the lack of regard for our experience was unbelievable. He could have salvaged this terrible situation with an apology and a complimentary cake or something, but simply refused to take responsibility. Raw egg can make you extremely ill, I recommend you save your money and disappointment and stay clear of this place.
This place has a very relaxed atmosphere. They do halal breakfasts. If the weather is good you can sit outside. Staff are very friendly
Great breakfast and food choices. Also the prices are really good. The staff are really nixe and attentive. The girl who served us was really nice and helpful.
Great food, pleasant staff but not a lot of varieties on the Menu.
The coffee was OK, however burger tasted like theyd used oil that had been reused several times. Eggs dont appear to be good quality. Staff were friendly and service was quick, however both my partner and I had a stomach ache afterwards, so not sure if thats because of a kitchen hygiene issue, or actual milk had been used in the coffee (rather than oator the oil issue. Shame.
really nice food, went here for my friends birthday and the owner was so sweet and surprised us with cake! Good food, really filling and high quality! :))
The food was great and the service was even better. Went with friends for my Birthday and was surprised with Cake and music. Definitely will be returning!
I came for the Egyptian buffet on a Saturday afternoon. And I was blown away by the flavour and spicing. Some of the standout dishes were the stuffed vegetable, the beef stew and the selection of puddings. The food is offered by Alaz Catering, which is well established in the London Egyptian community and deserves broader recognition and their own property. Samy and Sabrina make you feel like youre part of the Egyptian family with their welcoming environment. This wil be a Saturday staple for me!
Find it expensive for what you get. £8.95 for a vegetarian breakfast with only 1 small slice of halloumi (only 1!!), plus the vegan sausage is not even a real sausage, more like a vegetable burnt croquette (properly black dip fried burnt). Requested poached eggs but where not drained adequately so the food tasted like vinegar & water. Besides all of this the cappuccino was spilled when the waitress pass it to us. She didn’t even seemed bothered to substitute it, not even the cup. We had to ask for a new cup and when she bought it back was only half full, literally just pass the content of one cup to another and brought it back. We had to ask (againto at least fill the remain cup with a bit of milk - you shouldn’t really had to ask for all of this… She didn’t bother to take all the paper tissue soaked with milk, we had to take it to the counter ourselves. This was my third time in here and was never impressed with the food, the service experienced this last time was the final drop. Don’t think I’ll ever come back, money just not worth it.
Had a fantastic breakfast at the Hothouse, friendly and attentive staff, wonderful fresh produce and the poached eggs were on point!Coffee was very good and the food arrived quickly!I can’t recommend this place highly enough, my dog even got her own sausage!Great work guys 👍
I absolutely love hot house. The food is good. The atmosphere is brilliant and the service is amazing. The staff are fantastic. There are many super people who frequent the establishment and I love it. My favourite ever place to go out. The Karoke on the weekend is awesome and the host of Karoke is fab. Pass by sometime and you will see for yourself.
Sorry, just not up to scratch. I was willing to put up with the delays considering covid situation, however, breakfast could do with improving, especially the poached eggs! Bacon way too fatty. Happy to pay more for quality. Being out of avacados was not good for the vegetarian in our group.
Absolutely fabulous breakfast and smoothie at great prices for the area. The Hothouse for under a tenner and a fresh and full of fruit strawberry smoothie for about £4. I also think the hash brown was one of the best Ive ever had. Would definitely recommend. 2 ladies serving were lovely to.
Amazing service all around. Very friendly, smiley and funny staff. So helpful when deciding food and helping with food preferences. Food was great, tasted delicious and was served In great time. Coffee is amazing
Great menu and very reasonable prices for London. We had a mix of vegan, chicketarian and halal. They were able to cater for all dietary requirements. Staff were very friendly and even boxed up my leftovers.
Let me start by saying after reading the reviews I was excited to try this place but to my dismay it was and there’s no other words for it, terrible. After spending the night in London I went out to enjoy a nice breakfast with friends but when entering was not served and when eventually the waiter came over after serving other customers who came in after us, had a vile attitude. The food was cold and horrible and tasted like they had taken it out of the bin and plated it up for us. I honestly wouldn’t even feed rats what I was served up. Thankfully though I will admit there was one part of the meal which was very well presented and the taste was divine which is the reason this is getting at least a one star review. The Bottled water was exceptional and honestly I’d go back just to experience the refreshing taste of that cold water running down my throat. In all honesty save yourself and don’t come down to this place.
-Freezing soggy food-tasteless sausages like they were frozen-pathetic customer service, owner spoke to us like we were mute or something???-£3 for a water, but a coffee is cheaper???Definitely wont return here and you should avoid as well.
Decent size meal for the price, good presentation, friendly staff. Nice to see the owner around as well greeting customers. If I was to make a suggestion it would be to make tea pots a little bigger, the current one is small and had to ask for a hot water refill to tidy me over my meal. Definitely recommend 👍
Just rude staff. Wanted to come in for a lovely New Year’s Day meal. And was completely ignored by staff. On a pretty empty day, the Chef was blunt with answers and waitress completely ignored me as I asked 3 times about ordering a meal. We had to take care of everything ourselves, before deciding to leave!
Nice place but food was mediocre...will try it again. Service is great!
Avoid this disaster of a restaurant. I rarely leave reviews but this experience warrants one! Disaster from start to finish - you could only pay by cash which we were told after we ordered, we never got our water, my fiances breakfast arrived 15 mins after mine and I was finished eating, then we got the bill they were over charging us!!! food itself was average - do yourself a favour dont bother
The service was quite, but the food was great and the staff was very polite! It is a nice place to come for a brunch with friends.
the BEST breakfast i’ve had! Everything about it was amazing I can’t fault anything. I went with my son and husband, and the manager/cook made my son very happy and was well looked after! I’m going to recommend this place to everyone! 🥳 kid friendly and amazing atmosphere.
Breakfast is over rated, not worth the money. Youre not allowed to swap breakfast items in the breakfast meals and they charge a ridiculous amount for additional items. Coffee was very small considering I ordered the large. Also Im pretty sure one member of staff is a lady of the night!
Service slightly slow and staff was a bit passive. But the food was on point and the place has a very chilled atmosphere.
One of my favourite places in Chiswick to get breakfast and a coffee, an unmissable treat for anyone in the area. The Hothouse boasts a range of Mediterranean foods, meat fresh from the local butchers, inventive cocktails and pancakes. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere welcoming. Whether youre looking for an evening out at a fabulous wine bar or you want a great day time meal, I would definitely recommend it.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious. Samy is very attentive. This place also does music at night with a different theme every night. Highly recommended.
My partner and I have enjoyed the atmosphere and food here previously and this time, brought our young baby and his grandparents with us. The food is delicious with a great variety and selection, including loads of vegan and vegetarian options. The coffee is good too and the staff are really friendly, chatty and professional. Our top choice for a quiet, quality cafe in Chiswick.
Grabbed a chicken wrap for lunch, staff were quite nice and quick. The wrap was pretty good for 4.75.
Good quality food. Prices are OK for the area it is situated in. Its doesnt get too busy and packed even during weekday lunch times so you should be able to get a table. You can expect friendly, and good customer service although the waitresses faces look like theyre bored of their job every time they take my order at the counter.I work in Chiswick Park and being a foodie, Ill naturally come along with some of my colleagues and friends who live nearby every now and again for lunch. The pastas and wraps are very good with generous portions and I even ask for it to be cooked with extra spice to which they seem more than happy to do so.Ive also tried their breakfast a couple of times in the past months and it was decent as well.
