The Hotel Lucerne, Autograph Collection in Luzern
Description
Trying too hard to be cool and hip. However great location with friendly staff.
After booking and having my booking confirmed at the proposed rate, the hotel contacted me attempting to charge more and stating they would not honour the original booking even though it constituted a contract. Staff were quite rude in this exchange. The Hotel has now attempted to make a charge to my card, significantly higher than the contracted rate and even higher than the rate they subsequently offered me, without any agreement to this. Beware when booking that The Hotel will make unauthorised card charges regardless of the rate on your confirmation/contract.
MoreLovely property in a location easily walkable to any Lucerne sights. Rooms are spacious and theres very current technology in the rooms which is always helpful. Loccitane bath products, Nespresso, and other great in room amenities. Wifi is fast as well.Staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!
MoreWe stayed at the Hotel Lucerne during our 2 night stay in Lucerne. As a platinum member, I was able to use two suite night upgrades along with my 50k FNC’s from opening up a credit card for my stay. My suite nights cleared around 4 days before to a penthouse suite which was great!Check in was simple and easy. Staff were so friendly and helpful with providing information around the city. The check in area was not big as the desk is right when you walk in and you have to walk past the desk to get to the elevator. The hotel itself has less than 30 rooms. Our room was located in the 6th floor/“penthouse” level which only has two rooms. The room was very spacious! It has a couch and two terraces with one terrace having a beautiful view of the city. The toilet area was small and separate from the shower which didn’t have a door. The room had a bunch of cabinets with one being a kitchenette with pots/pans included. Coffee machine was also in our room.Hotel breakfast was included in my stay and unfortunately we were only able to use it for one morning and it had to be to go. They were so nice with getting our breakfast ready which was a 3 plate platter which included meat/cheese, fruits, and bread/yogurt.Overall it was a great hotel to stay at during my stay in Lucerne. Everything was perfect and the upgrade really was a special treat to make the stay even better.
MoreA wonderful experience over three days. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Martin gave me many personalized recommendations (restaurant with roesti by the river, wine bar with Swiss specialties, nice hotels on the next leg of my tripthat made me feel at home. The hotel itself is modern and well-designed (e.g. USB & Mac plugs over the nightstand; robotic window blindsand the bed/bathroom/work area were comfy too. Buffet breakfast was yummy & unique (3 plate presentation of cheese, fruit, meatsat your table. A winner all around!
MoreIve stayed here a number of times for business, and have enjoyed each stay. Rooms are spacious, reception staff is friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is very nice for dinner. At one point, our company had moved from Lucerne to Zug, and The Hotel made it worth our while to continue staying there with a free rail pass to and from Zug each day - nice! When I was staying there, each room was decorated in the style of a recent movie. Fun!At one point, my daughter finished her study-abroad semester, and travelled around Europe for a month with a friend. For a treat, I paid for a room at The Hotel for them. They arrived, two college-age girls with backpacks, somewhat scruffy and disheveled after an overnight train from Copenhagen, but were greeted warmly by the staff and given a nice room.Great central location, very near the train station, the bridge to the old city, and "The Little Theater", where I was able to attend a performance of a Swiss jazz ensemble. The hotel didnt have bikes for rent, but they were available at the train station.
MoreOk... So this was a strange property. I had originally booked at the other Marriott and they asked us to move to this hotel. After the stay... Im wondering if they only asked certain people (similar names to put it politely...to stay here.Anyway... Theres nothing wrong with this hotel. Its kept up nicely, but the decor and layout of the rooms were off. Hard to describe. While it was fine, I probably wouldnt stay here again. The breakfast we a true low point and I would recommend avoiding it. Go elsewhere for 30 francs. Thank God it was included in my rate...
MoreDark, Modern Hotel. Great Location. Good Nights Sleep. The hotel is in an ideal location, near both the train station and Old Town. The staff is exceptional as they were very friendly and accommodating with room requests. The room was huge, quiet, had a very comfortable bed, and with the blackout shutters it was easy to get a good nights sleep. The only reason I didnt rate it as 5 stars is due to the significant lack of light in the rooms. Even in the middle of the day, with all lights on, its pretty dark. Also, the water pressure in the shower could be better, but the lack of light that was the major issue.Although the hotel was a bit too modern for my tastes, we still had a very nice stay and would recommend it to others.I hope that readers will find my review and photos helpful.#TabesTravels
MoreExcellent location 5 minute walk from the train station. Very close to everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 3rd floor suite which is very large for a European hotel. The ceilings have art work on them, the beds are super comfortable and of course have down pillows and comforters. Just a note though it did not bother us, is that the rooms facing the park and church van be a bit noisy.
