The Hilltop Ao Nang in Krabi

Breathtaking scenery. The ambience and music was perfect. Great sunset view. They even provide free transport service to and fro your hotel. Staff spoke good English and was very attentive to our needs. Very observant and prompt when they notice you need help.Food was great! Quality food, service and view! Definitely a stop by if one is ever in Ao Nang, Krabi.I really enjoyed it a lot.For context in spending, my total bill came to 1600baht. Probably the best fried rice with crab you can find in Krabi 😉 but also they pick you up from the hotel for free and the workers are very kind. Hope to come back again!

Good restaurant with beautiful views. If you go by the night theres a calm and charming atmosphere. We really had a great experience and we ate an excellent dinner with a good product. The staff was very friendly and recommended us delicious plates. Thank you so much for the experience.

Perfect for lunch and dinner. Lunch has great view of the beach and city of Ao Nang. Dinner has great sunset view and the sign of Hilltop. Very romantic setting at night.Service: the service is amazing! Best in town. You would need to call them if you need anything. They are very polite and I love their cute uniforms.Food: 5/5 for food. Their food is so fresh. Nothing here is old or pre-made. They really capture the thai style taste. Seafood sauce is the best here and must have with your meal! Every bite has a strong umami flavor. My favorite dishes here… pineapple fried rice, oyster, raw shrimp salad, and papaya salad with blue crab is a must! Their shrimp tempura was a great appetizer. Curry with crab was very unique and I love how it has a kick to it. You have to get the fried fish with mango salad! Really good!Drink: I had a lychee martini and strawberry daiquiri. Both are good! Not too sweet. Lychee martini had a sour taste which was shockingly good and refreshing! The strawberry daiquiri was also refreshing and not too sweet of a taste and was just right.Overall: 5/5 the prices may look a little expensive but you are paying for the quality of the fresh food that is prepared for each order. It’s a bit fancy not your regular night market vibe. The view is to die for! I would come back and visit again for sure!Update: I had to go back for the second time! The food is too good here! The same great service and very attentive. This is nothing like the night market, it’s way better. I got the steak this time and others. The steak is a must! The meat is salty but parring it with the sauce (sweet and spicyis perfection! You can also dip it in their seafood sauce too!You really can’t compare this to a night market or other restaurants around town. This place is really for their quality and freshness of the food.

The Hilltop is a must visit restaurant when you’re staying in Krabi. My wife and I had such an amazing time here during our evening dinner. They offer special seating arrangements for a minimum spending. (Please ask the reception for pricesGetting to the restaurant was simple because they offer free shuttle service going up and down the restaurant. (If it gets busy, expect to wait a couple minutesAlso, if you stay in one of their villas they provide complementary shuttle service to ao nang beach.Food at the Hilltop was fantastic. I was hesitant on getting raw seafood because I did not want to get sick but the manager (can speak englishsaid they receive fresh ingredients each morning. I highly recommend getting the salmon with thai sauce and raw shrimp. The shrimp tempura was definitely one of my favorites with their sweet palm sauce. You can actually tell the difference between the cheap thai resturant vs the hilltop. Price is moderate to high because you’re paying for quality food. The restaurant pays really close attention to minor details like their plates, utensil and napkins.The hilltop comes with bar seating and lounging net area if you only want to come here for drinks. The employees here are friendly and welcoming. You can ask them to take pictures for you.I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could.

Nice view for sunset. Food is fair. Not much vegetarian options but could make tomyam or curry vegetables. Restaurant provides shuttle from and to hotel.

Vverrrrryy beautiful place with a wonderful view and the food is very good and delicious the stuff very friendly and kind specially the owner she’s kind .. you have to go with a car because it’s up of the mountains.. but it’s all about the view

An amazing place with breathtaking views! The food is amazing also. The washrooms could use cleaning and an upgrade. Staff is courteous. The service and setup is a bit slow during the day. They start setting up properly near the sunset. All in all recommend it!

Pricey but good food overall. Great views and nice atmosphere especially during early evening/sunsets. They offer free shuttle to your hotel when reserving table. Attentive service.

If you are staying in Ao Nang and love delicious food and wonderful views this is the place to eat!

Food and view are good. Reserving the table at the corner costs you 3000 BHT (as I know now it is "minimum consumption"). Whether this is including the even in Thailand illegal separately set service charge of 10%, I did not ask. I did not return. Once was enough. A bit weird to me, this place."Illegal" means: If you serve consumers, not companies, it is mandatory to name the end price in the price list or menu. Listing a price excluding tax or "service charge", which people can find printed in 6pt font at the end of the menu page, is prohibited by law. Some restaurants and hotels prefer to use this method. In my personal opinion this is not honest. The majority of tourism companies abstain from that.I had a good time, just felt that some business attitude is unusual in your restaurant.

Free tuktuk getting us from hotel to the restaurant, superb services delivered by the team. Needless to say…the view is 10 out of 10.Food are slightly pricey and too salty to my liking, but still acceptable.

Sadly Google does not allow 4.5 stars, other than a small problem this place rocks (would have been 5 stars without a doubt). Anyone wanting a good evening with good service and food needs to come here at least once while they on Krabi.

Sumptuous foodThere were tables and chairs and nets there so we could sit there and have our photos taken.Heavenly views that’s quite unbeatable.

What a brilliant place to stay! really special view from the accomodation and from the restaurant, and the staff are excellent. There are steep hills, thats why you get the great view! But there is a shuttle which is easily organised through the manager who you will have on speed dial. This is a place the lives and breathes hospitality. Go!

The view and atmosphere here is definitely amazing but bring your bug spray. I got bit multiple times but that might be a me problem. I ordered the garlic butter scallops, roasted duck with orange sauce and the crab fried rice. They were all delicious

Stunning view, relaxing atmosphere, and the food was really great. Got the soft shell fried crab, shrimp cakes, squid, and orange duck. The duck was excellent, and so was the crab. The crab is covered with chilis so make sure you can handle the heat. Would definitely recommend for the view alone, but also the food is a must as well.

Magnificent views! Especially on sunset.The food is excellent and not too expensive. I definitely recommend to try oysters but beware - they are huge! 6 oysters here were at the size of dozen at any restaurant in Phuket.All we tried was fresh and delicious. Drinks are good as well.

Great place with one of the best views in Krabi. Very good food. The menu is mainly seafood with western and Thai dishes. Great drinks and lots of space. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It seems like most of them speak English very fluently. I highly recommend.

Food and service not bad, but portions were small considering the price. For example, the pineapple fried rice with prawns had around 3 prawns.

Great location for sunset, plenty space to keep social distancing if you mind. Great food, especially deep fried shrimp balls.

Great view, attentive staff, average food. Duck curry - very little meat, lots of apple(?), pineapple, some sort of hard large peas. Chicken fried rice in pineapple and morning glory were ok. Strawberry daiquiris served in martini glasses.

Quite the view from way up there. On a clear day you can’t beat the pristine panorama. Plenty of parking for cars.The food was flavorful, though larger portions would have been appreciated. They appear to have a stage set up for live music. Definitely a spot y want to check out in the day or night time.

we went here last night Jan 9, 2020 and let me tell you that I thought it was a tourist trap. but low and behold that this place was amazing. the view was great and hard to get to see a view like that for that price. There is a shuttle that picks you up and drops you off. my wife left her phone on the shuttle and they drove back to our hotel to drop it off. there is nothing bad I can say about this place. Service was fantastic and food was great!!!thank you hilltop so nang for the great experience!

I had dinner Christmas Eve here with complimentary two-way transport service by the restaurant. Enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance here and was really surprised by the fireworks.Food was decent but not awesome, but definitely worth visiting if you want to have a hilltop dining experience in Ao Nang.

An interesting and atmospheric place, especially when the weather is favorable and you can admire the beautiful sunset over Krabi. It is possible to sit at tables overlooking the city, under a roof among romantic lanterns, or to lie comfortably on nets among pillows. After sunset, an additional attraction are the atmospheric lanterns illuminating the trees growing there and the contours of the buildings.

Had a great dinning experience. Beautiful sunset scene. Great food. But little bit pricey. And remember to make reservation because the restaurant always fully booked.

Tourist trap with a nice view. The food is far from authentic Thai. The crab was dry and tasteless, the fish tasted ok but a bit dry, the chicken with cashew nuts didnt taste anything and the rest was about the same. You pay premium for the view. Go here for a drink and skip the food.

Free shuttle provided. Food is just ok, so so. The sunset view is Great, we will recommand to reach the restaurant about 5.30pm, so the weather will be nicer.The menu pricing is quite high, we have spent over THB2200 for 2 people for just a dinner.

We had the most amazing romantic dining experience here. It was the first time we ate soft shell crab (still searching for anything that comes close& sea snails. Everything we ordered was delicious & the wait staff where super helpful, patient & friendly. There is even a special out door table that is stunning for a special occasion.

This was definitely one of our favourite evenings. The view at sunset is unbelievable, the staff are very attentive and the food was delicious! There was also an amazing live singer when we were there (who wasnt too loud that you couldnt have a conversation).

great place to enjoy sunset over the bay. try to get there before dusk, and enjoy the sky colours gradually changing. menu offers plenty of options, from spicy to non-spicy. freshly cooked and nicely presented. nice to come with friends and family, also can be romantic too. great to have live band to liven up the atmosphere too.

Romantic and great view. A nice place to spend your evening and dinner with your love one, they cater to special request such as suprise for your spouse a cake or bouquet of flower but need to book through their website and they will contact you by email.

The view was amazing. And the transport was really on time.The food was not that good. We ordered the fried rice with prawn and crab, beef with basil, and squid with garlic and pepper.Squid = fine. Need more flour to make it more crispy.Beef with basil = not delicious at all.Fried rice = plain.Overall, ok.

Just wow! The view here is just unbelievable! We made a reservation here for 6pm and we were able to catch a spectacular sunset view with all the mountains! There are seats outside as well as inside however because it was raining a bit we were seated inside. Amazing dinner date location!The food was delicious we got 5 things and dessert (it was a ton of food; not all dishes captured in photos). There was also a live band playing with set the mood for dinner very nicely!

The Hilltop is a lovely setting - 3 sections, a lovely outside area and then 2 areas set further back. The live music is really good. Unfortunately the place is frequented families and their noisy kids. This is to be expected as folk go on holiday with their kids - but don’t think it’s going to be a romantic evening. It’s not. We stopped for a sunset view and a drink. Evidently one needs to book for dinner - and looking at the menu it’s pricy for South Africans, but probably not for those with stronger currencies.It was fun people watching all the insta queens. There is also a “ pick up “ area at the bottom of the hill so folk without transport don’t need to walk.

This is located on top of a hill. They have a pick up and drop service available. So just call them once. The food is decent. We ordered fish and it was very nicely done, served with the right thai sauces. The cocktails were also very good. They have a nice garden to walk around post your dinner. It is towards the expensive side.

We were here in a group of 11 tourists with 1 child at 1.7 years. They had a child seat for him.The Venue consists of 3 areas. One rooftop bar with view of the bay, one eating area under roof with limited view and a larger eating area under open air with splendid view.The location is superb, it is romantic and scenic. You can go here both night an day. The facilities are clean and orderly. It is really a great place to eat.We were here during new years and they served a buffet. It was plentiful and looked delicious. Tasted very good.The food during new years was pricy as one can expect.I highly recommend this place for the venue. It is probably a bit pricy but the location makes up for that I think. Safe place.

Food is great esp the steam fish. The basil chicken is great but the hilltop tum yum a bit of a miss. The staff is friendly and attentive. What knock you off your socks here is of course the unbelievable view. Come here by 530 and enjoy the sunset. They have complementary ride from your hotel but its limited so book early. Prices are not crazy despite the settings

Great view from a high cliff site. This is quite a large restaurant that serves a lot of tourists. The food is tasty but spice wise bland. The menu says you can ask for spice level when you order. But whatever you order it is bland. Perhaps tourists from North America are seen as low tolerance to spicy food. Service is excellent.

Excellent view. Visit around 6 pm to view the sunset. Restaurant is a bit expensive but the service was really good. The order arrived pretty fast and we were not kept waiting for long. Usually takes about 500 bahts per person if you are a part of a big group.

This restaurant has a premium factor that matches its great location with superb sights.Probably one of the best places to see the sunset and fight the mosquitoes in the same time :).They have live music in the evening, the staff is friendly, helpful and speak English. The food is good and you have local and foreign dishes to choose from.If you dont like walking on steep slopes, then get a tuk-tuk, a taxi or their coach to drive you up the hill. Or even better, if you want to arrive in style, you can always come on a rented scooter.

Nice restaurant on the hilltop. Food is lovely. Had the steamed prawns, fried omelette with pork, stir fried Thai vegetable with egg and Tom yum soup. Very tasty. Arranged free shuttle pickup and made it for sunset. Lovely live band friendly staff. A great end for an evening!

Fantastic food, fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is spacious and cooling. Good place to enjoy a couple of pictures of the beautiful sunset. Highly recommend their Pad Thai. Place offers free shuttle to and from hotel.

Other than that, everything was substandard considering the price and over hyped. Would not recommend. In order of my experience:1 - pick up service is bus. However: we asked them to pick us up at 5.30 originally, changed to 5, they didnt confirm the change and then picked us up at 5. When we werent there "on time", they refused to come back for another half hour until we called them again... At which point they complained we werent there the first time etc then came later only when there was another huge group they needed to pick up nearby.2- the view was amazing and we made it in time for sunset (we almost missed it cus of #1 issue).3- its outdoor so be prepared for mosquitoes4- the waiters tried to serve us dishes that were not ours MULTIPLE times. Another waiter interrupted our waiter as we were talking to him / giving him our order - rude.5- they never took away our dishes as we finished them.... And we had SIX dishes in one table!6- presentation was beautiful but everything is very over priced. For example: even low key local places give you fresh fruit juices - they used syrup, despite being 3x the price. For the price, you would expect the food to be fresh, but as another reviewer mentioned, its factory food production. Its very evident that 80% if not all the food is precooked and reheated when we ordered. 6 dishes came out within a half hour, everything was overcooked and not hot.7- no waiter asked if we were OK at all during our meal. They asked if we wanted our mains at the same time as the appetizers, we said no but they all came out at the same time anyway.In summary, their pictures were 5 stars, their location is 5 star, they pretend to pass themselves off as 5 star.. But theyre really 2-3 stars. Do not be fooled - other than the view, any local restaurant can do better at 1/10th the price.

Five-star view... if youre lucky. The beauty of sunsets really depend on weather, and for us we were quite lucky to catch the beautiful rays of light as the sun descended. The live band was great, and the complimentary transfer to and from nearby hotels was useful (call ahead to reserve!). The food was a mixed bag - some was great (like the curry with crab meatand others were average (stir-fried beef with vegetables). But for the view - Id think its worth it!

This is located on a small hill next to Krabi resort. The view from the hotel in the night is good, and there is live music as well. There is one table with an amazing view but the minimum order value to be able sit in the table is 5000 baht.The food is slow to arrive and is nothing great. It is priced on the higher side. we ordered Chicken with Cashew nuts and Spicy Papaya Salad, and we did not finish both the items bcoz of the tasteThis place is highly recommended for romantic dinner or sunset view dinner.
