The Highlands Inn - Restaurant in Piripiri, Brazil
Its okay, but then Im not a fan of big pubs. Id visit again if invited by friends, but it wouldnt be somewhere Id chose to go.
Large pub. The soup and Sea Bass were very good. Welcoming staff.Pleasant outside area. Good selection of beers. Good parking area.I would definitely recommend The Highlands Inn.
I arrived after the kitchen had shut, the lovely lady named Jess greeted us with a smile and asked the kitchen if they’d make two more roasts!Honestly, it was the best roast I’ve tried and if I wanted to fault it I’d be lying!Thank you Jess and Mr Chef
Salmon was perfect; 2 of our party said it was the best salmon dish theyd had. Hub said the fish finger wrap was very good. I had mushrooms eggs and chips which were a expected. Lovely waitress with a ready smile is always a good sign.I would have awarded 5 stars but I thought the wait for food was overlong considering there were few customers. Otherwise though, it was a delightful meal with friends and a good atmosphere.
There was 20 of us for a meal.We was asked to pre order food before we arrived which was a good idea.Problem occurred because thay changed the menu and forgot about our orders not being on the menu and tried to improvise the Thai curry was awful more like spicy water, my cheese ploughmans had sausage and ham good job Im not vegetarian. We did complain and to be fair reduced our bill but wont be going back
We passed by the town on the way home and decided to stop for Sunday lunch. We didnt book but we were welcomed with a smile and quickly got a table allocated. The waitress was polite and friendly especially towards the kids, took our order with a genuine smile on her face. Food arrived quickly and was delicious! We had a burger, a beef roast, and 2 dishes from the kids menu, and a desert. Every one enjoyed the lunch. All staff was friendly, literally everyone had a smile on their faces, they worked as one team. Its hard to find this nowadays. We were happy to leave a generous tip. Shame we live so far away!
Best ham egg chips iv had trevor Hobbs crowbrough
Nice place for a good beer from local breweries such as Gun and Harveys and good quality reasonably priced food. The fish and chips is great. However you may want to sit inside if youre with children as if you want to sit in the outdoor space, then be prepared to be sitting amongst a lot of tables with people smoking which kind of ruins the experience if you are with small children or a baby or just dont like cigarette smoke. Other than that consideration, youll have lovely experience and The Highlands
Brilliant, great staff professional and friendly. And the food is Amazing.
Came for lunch 6 weeks ago, group of 6 people. Dishes mixed up more than once. Gave a vegetarian a chicken dish, luckily we notice and swapped it round. Excessive amount of crisps on side and the fish finger sandwich there was only 1 fish finger very poor.
Great pub, fantastic staff and good atmosphere. Only complaint is you have to move inside at 11pm! On warm summer evenings its a shame...but not the pubs fault. Thoroughly recommend having a drink or a bite to eat here.
Much improved. Food was great staff excellent and dog friendly! 🐕
We came for lunch on our way back from a camping weekend. The food was amazing! And the staff were delightful, nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend 👌
I have been visiting your pub since the beginning of the year for dinner with my family and for my first few visits I couldn’t speak highly enough of the pub the food specifically the fish and chips which my family couldn’t get enough of.However I’m disappointed to say that for my last few visits including one today the food has been far from satisfactory and after this I don’t believe my family will be returning again. The potatoes were rock solid and the meat was extremely dry and over cooked, we did at the time complain to the waitress who was serving us she did say she would pass on the feedback. I was surprised she came back with a speech about how others had enjoyed the the food today so i demonstrated how hard the potatoes were to cut, considering I had my grandparents with us it was near on impossible. She did agree with me but offered no solution for the matter just an apology however it felt as if it was us that were wrong for making a complaint about the food.I hope you will look into the matter and hopefully resolve this for future visitors as today has soured my view of the pub and the food you serve.
The Highlands Inn was the perfect location for our family special birthday celebration. The staff were extremely helpful. Lovely outdoor area for photos. Highly recommended.
Good food at a very reasonable price, friendly diligent staff, fast service, spacious inside and out, excellent parking. We were pleasantly surprised when the waitress bought us some cash back with our meals as they had spotted that we had accidentally been overcharged! I think thats exceptional honesty, thank you.
A very warm open looking place - people sitting outside having a few evening drinks, enter into the bar area and to the right, the dining area which is spacious. Great service from a friendly young lady. Lots to choose from on the menu. I had prawn with garlic and chilli to start - was ok but didnt taste and chilli I must admit, and then I had chicken, bacon and avo salad. The chicken was char grilled by the looks of it, and sometimes was bitter tasting (a few burnt bits on itand a bit dry from over cooking I found. My sister had a very delicious salmon and my hubby and brother in law had the steak pie, which was very filling and quite tasty they said. Its a pleasant place to pop in to have a pleasant evening - offering sometimes live bands on certain evenings.
Nice surrounding, good food choice, excellent service
Lovely food, well priced. Recommended.
Came for lunch as a party of 10, easy to find, and easy parking as many spaces.A few family groups were also having lunch, and the establishment has a nice friendly feel.A range of menu options were ordered, 1 of our party is a vegetarian and had no problem finding menu options. The lunches and desserts were all great bar mine which arrived with a long hair resting on it, spotted as the plate was brought. The waitress was apologetic and another plate was brought about 10 minutes later.Dropped a star from my review for hair in the food, so only 3 stars.
Really delicious food, large portion sizes, arrived fast, lovely atmosphere with very friendly service and reasonable prices. I and my family were so glad to find it after a long hard day hiking the seven sisters
Good food they do smaller portions which suits me. Will go back when were that way again
prices average, but food excellent, big portions and friendly staff
Popped in for a burger and a beer just before closing, bar staff were very friendly and took our order. The burger itself was one of the best IV had in years! Juicy and very tasty. The only reason I have dropped one star is because the waitress who bought our food out looked very unhappy to serve us and when I said hello to her she completely ignored us!
Very easy to find plenty of car parking. Plenty of space for parties and bar for drinks. Food excellent and overall a very good pub ..
Very good, busy pub. Large car park, good service. Food available 😋 friendly staff..
Had the Fish and Chips! Food was excellent. The waitress was the best! So friendly and welcoming!! Nice cozy little place. Great experience there. Great job!!
Lovely hotel, I was looking for something different to the generic boring travelodge/premiere inn and found this place. It’s a lovely hotel, clean and tidy and the staff were quite friendly. My only issue really was that breakfast was advertised online and in the room and I paid for it when I booked but when I asked about it I was told they don’t do breakfast (despite being called a bed and breakfast also!I told them I paid for it etc and was just told that there a cafes down the road!! Times are hard and we were on a budgeted mini break so to have to go and pay in a cafe for 3 breakfasts which we hadn’t budgeted for set us back. I feel like we should’ve been offered some money back on our room or something. But like I say, other than that it was a lovely hotel and when they start doing breakfasts again I’ll be back
Excellent menu with such a great selection of great food. Service is brilliant. Have been a few times already and will definitely be going back again soon.
The food is absolutely amazing. Cooked to perfection. Staff really lovely and prompt too, nice open fire and friendly atmosphere
We went in there for an impromptu hot lunch having been with out electricity for 3 days in the recent storm. They were welcoming , the food fabulous a big roast and fish and chips , and I spilt a whole pint of coke over the floor and even then they were gracious and moved us to another table so our food didn’t get cold !A nice farewell topped off a really pleasant lunch .. thank you we needed kindness and good food and that’s what we got.We will be back
Joined friends and family to celebrate a special birthday. Despite pre-ordering food we had to wait nearly an hour for it to be served. The service was appalling. Would not recommend.
Excellent Sunday lunch. The roast beef was brilliant, really impressed.
Food was poor, entire table of 7 disliked their meals. The vegan burger was worse than the one offered at Wetherspoons. Tiny portion for the price.Only 3 star rather than 1 due to the great service and atmosphere. Would have 5 starred if the food wasnt so dissapointing.
Lovely food at reasonable prices. Large car park, and lots of outside seating too. Staff are friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. It feels covid safe due to the spacious interior, table areangement, screens and sanitation stations.
Initially thought meat options limited, but decided on the steak and was probably the best flavoured and cooked I have had for a long time. All the food that came out for all 8 of us was cooked to perfection.
Fantastic service in a beautiful pub. The staff were friendly, accommodating and prompt with their service. The food was delicious and our party of 5 each had a different dish and all of us enjoyed the food. I Would highly reccomend to anyone.
Took my 2 daughters for a Sunday roast.Service was brilliant, beer (for mewas spot on and the food was the icing on the cake.Thank you guys for a great meal and great hospitality.See you again soon.
Very nice food, five stars going to chef! More restaurant like quality. Cosy environment and friendly stuff. Recommended!
Had a nice meal in The Highlands on Saturday evening, the food was really good and the atmosphere in the pub is great. We had a table of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal.My only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 would be the service. One of the waitresses kept pressuring us to hurry up- she came over various times to check if we had finished when we were all half way through our mains. She gave us the menus and said she would be back in 2mins to take our order and the same with the bill. It was so blatant she wanted us to leave and it was only 10pm on a Saturday night and there were other diners still there. Such a shame because it really put a dampener on our evening.
Not as good as it should be. Theres very little competition in the Uckfield area for a decent, friendly pub with good food. The Highlands should be a shinning example in an this somewhat underwhelming town. The menu has a reasonable selection and includes Vegetarian/Vegan options. This is good for me and my family. Sadly on a very recent visit I ordered the Vegan hotdog & fries which were fine apart from a totally inedible hotdog roll that was small, rockhard & stale. I pointed this out to a young member of staff (the staff are in general friendly and helpful). The staff member said sorry, I asked them to take it to the chef and ask if they felt this was edible? I heard nothing more and at the best part of £10 its just not good enough!😐
We both had Pan fried Sea-bass, pesto orzo rice with Mediterranean roasted vegetables which is a must! Extremely tasty, rice cooked to perfection, fish fell off the skin and was fresh and tender vegetables cooked beautifully. So lucky to have this pub in Ridgewood, along with its friendly staff. Thank you from Mr Mrs G 😀
Beautiful decor, looks really smart. Food was good, we had 3 starters/lite bites to share. Service was a little slow especially considering there was only one other table when we arrived!
Stopped here on a whim after visiting a railway nearby. What a good decision this turned out to be. Great selection of food for adults and kids. Good choice of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I had the guest ale from a local brewery which was tasty.I ate pie of the day, which was Chicken, vegetables and stuffing. It was delicious and a proper pie too, not just a pastry top. Kids meals came with a choice of beans or peas, as well as chips. Good selection of sandwiches on offer too.Pleasantly surprised by the war memorial in the garden to a pilot who lost his life saving the village by using his Spitfire as a battering ram against a V1 bomb.A great choice, will certainly think of here again if in the area.
Came here as a group of 6 with my wife and 2 other couples, our friends had been here before and said we should give it a go, Im glad we did!Very polite and friendly staff, dog friendly bar, great food selection, lovely open fire place in the restaurant, fantastic portion size and very reasonably priced I would say. Will definitely return again if Im nearby and will be recommending to friends too, been told booking is ideal as it can get busy and I would imagine thats the case, was absolutely rammed by 1pm.
Friendly warm atmosphere. Good pub food. Perfect sword fish and to die for gluten free chocolate torte.
I eat out a lot and visit lots of different places, but this is by far my absolute favourite place to go (even though its not local about a 40 minute drive!), I last went there for my 40th with two friends and they appsolutely loved it as well!!, The food is unbelievably good, the seating is well spread out so youre not crammed in, staff are really nice and helpful and theres a really good atmosphere, keep up the great work guys and girls!!😀
some great menu choices and at reasonable prices. staff are friendly and helpful and food arrived in good time and was hot. friendly surroundings and clean environment. I would recommend to anyone passing
Loved our first visit here. The food is great & they have good offerings for vegans. Our roast was a decent size, & the staff were really friendly. My only gripe would be how loud it can get, but its not the venues fault. Would definitely recommend a visit (or two).
Delicious food! Long wait, but it is usually quite busy so is understandable. Great service too.
