The Highlander Pub - Pub in Vatican City, Vatican City
It was a nice, quiet place. The bartenders were very friendly.
The Highlander is a perfect pub to drink, have fun, sports and music. Dimitri and his team are specials! Thanks the experience and the generosity of authorize to watch Flamengo be champion of America!!!
If your in Rome and looking for a place to watch football, look no further, great place and the staff is awesome! Good prices and atmosphere.
Loved visiting this wonderful pub while wandering Rome. Sarah is a fantastic hostess/ owner who makes you feel so welcome
Great pub!! The quiz night is great and so fun!
Great little pub. Could use some bigger tvs but all in all, nice little place and great staff.
Great place to watch games (they have multiple at a time in different screens). The staff is nice and the alcohol is good. The food is not so great though (for example, seems like the fries were baked and not deep fried, or they use too much salt on everything). Overall great atmosphere
Ok... You need fix for some NFL, NHL or whatever sport you want. They had NFL Red Zone on when I walked in. This is your jam. Hit it up hard. Its sneaky hard to find. No big signs. Cant makes it feel special. Very North American bar.. If that turns your crank.
A sports bar in Rome that plays NFL games amoung other international sports. For all of you Americans who cant miss a game while you are on vacation, this is the place to go. The wings and pizza are better than sports bars in the states.
We text the highlander if the Buffalo Bills would be on tv and Dimmi responded immediately yes. We met at least 14 other Bills fans who we had such a great time with. Amazing place. Go enjoy your team play. Highly recommend
A little scottish gem in the middle of RomeWhat better place to watch an Australian rugby league grand finalGreat little spot close to the Spanish steps
what a joke for a "sports bar". You dont switch sports in the middle of an event when people are watching
This place deserves special mentions the staff are great drinks good atmosphere just the business would highly recommend anyone to go here
the pubcrawl is a very good option to explore romes night life! nice people and nice pub
Home of Rome’s Best Pubcrawl, this Scottish pub has been a staple for ex-pats for well over a decade. They have several beers on tap, all types of drinks and shots (even body shots if you request it). They also have food and known for staying up very late for sports broadcasts from all over the world including American football and baseball games - just give them a call and they’d be happy to help as the owner is a friendly sport’s fan.The pubcrawl starts at 10pm, costs 30€ and includes a free tshirt, open bar of beer, wine and pizza! Then at 11pm, they take the crowd to several other bars and a club where you get a shot at the entrance of each one. Definitely worth a try if you just arrived in town because of all the fun fellow travelers you’ll meet. I actually met one of my best friends on this pubcrawl back in 2008. You won’t regret it, I mean, don’t get (or get anyonepregnant, unless that’s what you’re looking for 😅😂.
Great time watching Liverpool win vs Ajax, enjoying food and beer with amazing staff Angelo, Simon, Dimitri and Turkish lady
If you are away for a while and start missing the pubs in the UK then this is definitely the place to go to! We felt like we were back home for a minute. They have good chips and football on!
Awesome bar with great beer an if your missing Scottish beef like I was then your in luck cause they do a great pint of tennents lager . The staff where great as well an the food was great too . We watch the rangers game there an the staff where very helpful to make sure it was on . 10/20 for me .. well worth the visit.
Lovely staff and a great place for last drinks as its open late
This place is an absolute gem, cool and dark ( like all the best bars), fantastic escape from the heat of the day. Good food, great beer, football for when you miss the opening day of the season and a great atmosphere. Shout out to Billy who looked after me and my family brilliantly, cheers Billy we will be back next time we are in Rome.
Great copy atmosphere. They even put on the football match we wanted to watch! Pretty cool place.
Great food, staff were great, has irn bru and everything for the Scots
Good environment. Can watch every sport event you want. Nice owner.
Amazing experience! Cool drinks, down to Earth crowd, body shots, beer pong and the best… the bar hopping 🥳 thankks!
great underground pub in the middle of the heart of the old city. literally underground, so views are limited..:-mostly a place to drink beer and watch sports.
Amazing bar crawls. Must go. great night life.
Stumbled upon the Highlander after a long day exploring Rome. Great place to grab a drink. Friendly service and very popular place.
An underground escape from the sun with wonder people serving wonderful beer. If youre in the area you must stop by to enjoy this hidden sanctuary!
This quickly became my favorite Pub in all of Italy, the owners Dimitri and Sarah along with the whole crew made me feel like I had been a regular for years rather than just a few days. This is a must if your in Rome.
Had the best night out here, I was with work colleagues who had been here the previous night, the atmosphere was brilliant and the owners were so welcoming , for a friendly place to watch sport or listen to music this is the place to go.
Great wee pub with good food and drinks very friendly and helpful owners
Nice place to watch sport events ,F1 formula1 race , football match, etc. They have many rooms ,You can ask for specific event to watch .
Found this gem whilst searching for a pub that was showing the Liverpool game. Food was good, the staff extremely helpful and the atmosphere was bouncing.
We needed a place for the Liverpool - Everton match (2-0 Liverpooland found this gem through the Internet.Lovely pub experience with a vast selection of tvs for the match, all the beer and cocktails you want, reasonable eatery for the match and good hosts.
Great little sports bar in the Heart of Rome. Sarah is the owner and her Scottish roots make her the ideal host. Angelo who is one of the bar tenders is so friendly and happy to chat as you watch whatever sport you are in to watch.Although this is a Scottish themed bar which is easy to see it plays host to a lot of Americans who enjoy there college sports on TV.Great atmosphere, amazing staff and something a bit different from everything else in Rome.
Brilliant bar for football and Tennents lager in Rome. Bonnie Scotland in the heart of Italy.
We’ve been in Roma for a month and the Highlander has become an absolute staple. We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we walked through the door; Dimitri and Sarah’s team are just fantastic. Not only are the bartenders friendly and knowledgeable, the drinks are cheap and diverse. We’ve met so many fascinating people from all walks of life and corners of the world. Thank you for all of the happy memories and the karaoke times! Special shoutouts to Dimi, Sarah, Joe, Rach, Vessi, Angelo, Daniella and Alex. You are all fabulous. Get in touch if you come to Edinburgh; we will happily show you the sights. In bocca al lupo!PS check out their free walking tour. We booked with Nick and it was such a fantastic intro to Roma’s history.
While on vacation in Italy for my honeymoon I was looking for a place to watch some NFL and after doing some research stumbled across the highlander pub and Im glad I did. Such a great atmosphere and fantastic service. Beer on tap at great prices and plenty of TVs playing 5 or more different games at once. If I visit Rome again in the future I will definitely be back.
We stopped in on a Sunday evening to catch some NFL football. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. If you are spending a Sunday in Rome and trying to watch some NFL football this location is awesome! Highly recommend!
Stopped for a couple back in 2017 after stumbling across it.So much character below , wonderful. Was talking to somebody at entrance and he told me he was the owner ? He was 7 feet tall so believed him :). Think he said he was bulgarian. Anyway , brilliant during the day and probably great in evening, well worth a visit. 5☆☆☆☆☆
We were regular clients of this pub, been there several times. Before COVID restrictions, everything was even better (which is understandable). They had a large variety of beers to choose from, an actual bartender, in the middle of the confusion, the food also managed to arrive in time. Having returned there this summer was a disappointment. First of all, it is not understandable what they serve and what they dont: from their menu they serve few of all the written stuff and there is not even a sign or word to indicate what you cannot order, making it all complicated. Second, trying to order something to drink, a girl working there literally told me to choose something easy to make and light in alcohol (she meant a cocktail with only one type of alcohol). When my drink came, it was not good at all. Another time they did not have any red beer (essential in a pub Id say, since many people like me dont like blonde beer). Lastly, we called to reserve a table during the Euro2020 matches and they told us it was not doable to reserve in advance (we called 1 day before), so we took their advice and arrived there 2 hours before the match to have a seat, but the tables were signed "reserved" (so it was doable?). So, I wonder, if you have no seats left or you dont like to reserve a table for me (to consume food and drink, not just for drinking), why do you make me come there hours before, losing time and then getting stuck in the traffic before the match without any other possibility? There are thousands of other places I could have reserved the day before after I called your pub if only you had told me it was already full. For this great inconvenience and, sincerely speaking, disappointment (I really liked the place and the atmosphere there), not turning back and opting for an Irish pub for the sports season next year. A good pub cannot hope to survive because of the atmosphere only, it also needs product and service quality, considering the competition in a city like Rome.
Really friendly pub. Lots of beer choices. They do serve food but I didnt try any. Good place for sports.
Great place! No outside seating, but its great to escape from the heat .Im guessing they make you feel comfy for any kind of sports event. We were there during the first weekend of Euro 2020. It was supposed to be a one-drink pit stop in the middle of the day, instead we stayed there for two matches plus made some friends. Good burgers by the way👌
We were there for the 2019 rugby world cup semi final. Great atmosphere. Very nice staff. We secured a table for four by booking breakfast. Otherwise it would have been standing only. The service was very slow. I think they were a bit overwhelmed. The match was nearly finished by the time we were served. There was a choice between continental breakfast which is what I ordered or English, Scottish or Irish breakfast. Scottish is English with added haggis and Irish has added potatoes. There are TVs everywhere including in the toilet so you never miss a minute of the match.
We are tourist from Detroit so naturally we loved to see the Detroit lions. They made my girlfriends first drink to strong so her second was free. They have beer pong and other beer games . We had alot of fun here also met some very cool people.
The place is not so easy to find. But other than that, everything was nice. Staff, drinks, the mood, and so on. You can enjoy your time and probably havea crazy night as much as you want. If you wanna make friends from other countries, states, whatever, just make friends.. Go there and have fun till the early morning.
Great sports bar - laid back staff and awesome atmosphere once it gets busy. The bar can get a bit clustered but the back rooms are perfect to relax with a beer
Cute Scottish pub with drinks and basic bar food. They were very accommodating of allergies and helped me get a dish with no dairy. The drinks were average, but tasty.
Great place, staff, and atmosphere. The owner was great. I did a pub crawl and this is the meeting place and the open bar was excellent and the pizza was as well. The owner took us to several different places including historic sites. 5 Star experience.
Watched the Patriots stomp the Dolphins here. So fun !!!!! Food wasnt as good as I expected. Eat before you go for sure. But any game you want to watch will be on if you ask.
