The High Note - Karaoke bar in Milwaukee, United States
Awesome fun. Great time and they even let me sing some Elvis.
I had fun here. It was comedy night and then there was karaoke after. When I get back into town I will go again.
Great atmosphere!! Open mic night/karaoke
I always have a blast whenever I go. Drinks are good and decently priced. Great atmosphere!! No judgement ❤️ Just be yourself and sing 🎶
Very bad place the dj was awful he canceled our song because we were from out of town, and then some one from the bar tried to fight me it was awful dont go here if you are from m put of town, be aware of this place
Fun place! They have a lot of songs.
Awful. Completely awful. José stole my friends ID then proceeded to verbally abuse her and drag her out by her sleeve. The owner must be out of his mind to allow an employee to not only verbally abuse a 25 year old woman but to let him lay his hands on her is something else. Too bad she was too scared and upset to press charges. José needs to be fired immediately.
ZERO STARS. from out of state and the rude security guard assumed that my friends IDs were fake. We are all 23-25 yrs old. Refused to give IDs back until we threatened to call the cops. what a joke. Took our business elsewhere.
Would give six if I could...let me start by saying Im an African American male although I didnt want to bring race into this we get turned away a lot just because but I say that to say this...I have been going out 10yrs strong without a weekend missed and I have never felt more at home and embraced by not only the patrons but the bartenders as well and I roll solo which makes things even more weird at most places but not here!!! I even sang with a group and solo ......will be my spot from now on for sure glad I stumbled upon this place
Joe, bartender, and Matt, the DJ, are awesome and everyone should check this place out!
Great place to do Karaoke all week long! 🎤🎸🎶🍹🍻Thank you Ray! 😁Joey from Contractors Unlimited LLC
Terrible place. Spent over 200 dollars at the bar and waited over an hour and a half to sing at their self proclaimed “best karaoke bar in Milwaukee.” Didn’t even get to sing after almost 2 hours of sitting there. Bartenders kept singing over paying Customers and regulars kept getting songs over paying customers once again . Awful experience. Will never go back and will never recommend to another out of towner.*thanks for the reply. We were in line for an hour and a half. We had a group of 8. My tab was 40 dollars. Our group of about 8 customers spent a collective 150+. Our names were on the list as next after an act. When that act was over we went up and our act was skipped after our names were listed for 2 songs as on deck. Were we really next or was another regular going to get the stage before us once again?? Calling out a lie on a review better get your facts straight yourself before calling people out.
Love going for comedy open mic on Fridays. It’s always different and there’s always something for everyone.
Such a great mix of people and songs - The talent I witnessed from just about everyone who sang was next level!
Came to Milwaukee from Michigan. Wanted to karaoke and found The High Note. This place rocks awesome! Everyone who sings here are great and fun. Definitely coming back.
I wondered in there about a year ago and will definitely continue wandering in. That plain neon open sign might not make it look too fancy but some of the most fun Ive had in Milwaukee was there. Great people/great vibe 10/10.
Fun times, got a headache pretty quick though from the speaker system.
Went here for the first time last night! Had a blast until I drank a shot then later realized I hadnt eaten anything. Had to leave, but plan on returning so I can sing!
Cool little spot in downtown Milwaukee. The bartender Rey (hope thats how she spells itwas really nice and friendly. She taught me how to play bar dice.
What a fun bar!! Some really good singers in there at times!
This is by far the worst run karaoke bar I’ve ever been to. I’ve been twice now and they have absolutely zero system to ensure that there is a normally distributed playlist. It’s terribly run. I STRONGLY encourage any one to open another karaoke bar in Milwaukee.
I like it here! The drinks are reasonably priced and its always fun doing karaoke with friends
This was my first time visiting this lounge and I had a great time with family and friends.Gem: KaraokeKey thing to note: arrive early if you dont want to wait a while to participate in Karaoke. I went on a Saturday and arrived around 10pm, but didn’t get called up for Karaoke until 2+ hours later.
I always have a great time when I check out the high note! The people are awesome, authentic and eclectic. It is diversity at its finest. Thats what music does. It is universal. Music is medicine ❤❤
Love it! ❤️ specially when the regulars are there that know how to sing songs that suit their voice. Usually early before 9pm, after you get the Marquette brats and if your onto that atmosphere cool. Either way its a great spot 👌
Great atmosphere but terrible straws, turtles do not love them. They krinkle & crack very easy. Super fun time tho!
One of the most magical memorable nights where every patron was a performer and as diverse in their styles as the eras and genres they chose their songs from. Will never forget it.
Ive gone to this place on numerous occasions an each time it has become more an more of a disappointment. I believe the biggest disappointment for me an my group was noticing how, some bartenders allow the regulars to skip ahead others to sing. This has occurred numerous of times with my groups trips here. Other than this, I also dislike the fact that a bartender had knowledge of their being MANY underaged people in the bar, an yet continued to serve them. This place has changed. I use to love coming here, but now I would rather go do Karaokee elsewhere.
Great for date night . I am embarrassed it took me so long to write this review as I am a regular for karaoke. The owners and waitstaff are all great! Definitely recommend!
Great energy at this fine establishment. Whether you are looking to shoot your shoot in comedy or in singing, this is a great platform to launch yourself. I see a good consistent crowd at this place on Tuesdays and Fridays when I am here. You get some chaos from locals coming in some days but the staff handle everything like pros. Drinks are a decent price and performers for the comedy mic get a free drink! Cheers Milwaukee
Was a lot of fun. We went there 2 times, the first night had really good people singing. Seemed like American Idol talent! The second night, not so much, lol, but it was always fun!
Given 5 stars mostly because the Bartenders here are amazing. Brandon & the short blonde I cant remember her name are normally bartending when I go with my little group. However, the other nights with other bartenders were pretty awesome as well. Pretty chill atmosphere also. Just a whole lot of fun. Fridays & Saturdays are a bit too packed for my liking, but Sundays & Mondays are perfect. Great folks to jam out with.
Complete random I stumbled into this place. I walked in during open mic comedy ! What a treat to hear a bunch of comedians practice their sets. They were great and it was completely entertaining. Following the comedy the karaoke started! The staff take part and they were fabulous! For really some of the friendliest staff you could ask for! The owner Evan was there and he was very personable. What a great concept this place is! Bartenders were attentive and fast! Rocky the security was also super! Seriously - stop into this place on your next trip to Milwaukee !
Accidentally walked in with a crew of like 15 interrupting an open mic night. The staff though was super understanding and treated our group graciously. We had a very good night.
I really enjoy that the staff sing too. Truly talented employees.
Wonderful place for karaoke…it’s nice to have a bar that’s set up for it!They do a great job of keeping things moving…there’s a little stage and the acoustics are pretty good!
I love this place! We go everytime i visit my daughter in Wisconsin. It reminds me of my spot in New York. The people are nice and the atmosphere is amazing. If you in the area and you like karaoke 🎤 I highly recommend you stop by. You wont be disappointed!!
1st time here, went with some friends. Had a lot of fun, the bartenders were cool and kept the place alive, I always enjoy karaoke lol there were a bunch of requests so I was scared I wouldnt get my turn but I did and had fun doing it. I definitely see myself going back.
The bartender was super helpful and polite. The karaoke was fun and got to sing frequently. The bar stools were very uncomfortable, to the point I stood. Change that and its a 5 star.
My husband and I are from Chicago. Ive been in Milwaukee for work for 2 weeks. He stumbled upon this Comedy/ Karaoke night at High Note. Walking in we didnt expect much since there werent many people inside. But wow was this such a great time!!! The staff is so friendly, the comedians are hilarious, everyone here is so welcoming. Weve been here 2 Tuesdays in a row and even came on a Friday because we loved it so much. If you are looking for something fun to do come here!! Tuesdays and Fridays!
Awesome place! The employees made our night. They made my friend and I feel comfortable even though it was a slow day and just us singing. I was so grateful considering I struggle with social anxiety and here I am at a Karaoke place lol. But they were amazing and 10 out of 10 would go again. Thanks Guys!
I am changing my review of the High Note Karaoke Lounge to three stars due to them not taking proper precautions to protect against the spread of COVID-19. When I wrote my original review, there were only a few people at the bar, so having to remind the owner to change out the microphone for me was not an arduous task. Over the weeks that followed, business picked up at the High Note while sanitation precautions did not. When I sent a Facebook message inquiring about what safety measures were being taken, I was told that mics would be swapped out and equipment sanitized "upon request." I said, "Thanks, but no thanks," and havent been back since, as every other karaoke show in town has hosts who are sanitizing the mics automatically without having to be reminded. Its an impressive performance to see the owner do his alcohol fueled microphone fireballs, but when the microphones arent actually swapped out between singers, it is nothing but a show and fails to provide any actual preventative purpose. To do karaoke during this pandemic is a huge risk in the first place, and as an avid karaoke goer, its a risk Im willing to take, but not at a place like the High Note where I dont feel like precautions are being taken nearly enough, if at all.
They really do seem to favor certain people. I had people go on twiceBefore I did. These people weren’t paying any extra money to perform either. Larger parties seem to do particularly well.. like they can sing all night. I get it. It’s just a bummer because I waited for like an 2 hours and paid good Money for drinks and meet some really great people. But I really wanted to sing just one song. But was not given a chance while other sang 2-3. Don’t expect to sing unless in a large group or unless you go very often.
We have gone twice now, both times we bought drinks, waited in line, wrote our song nicely on the sheet, only to watch the same four or five people get to sing multiple songs and our song never came up. We waited over an hour both times, it was fairly busy but not packed. I would not recommend this bar if you ever actually would like to sing. We will not try a third time.
Place goes through high and lows quickly. Everyone can be engaged and having fun and within minutes it can almost be depressing, like all the energy got sucked out of the room. Overall its a great place for karaoke every night
Best quite most awesome bar I have ever been to. First time for my sisters birthday. Started with stand up Comedy and it was amazing, very awesome laughed very hard. And had karaoke. I had one guy all over me was very uncomfortable, the bartender noticed my look at him and kicked him out. He saved me and was very much a gentleman and the rest of the crowd was very pleasant. My sisters and I made it a plan to always go back at least once a month. This will be our spot for now on. Thank you for best birthday for my sister, for saving me and my sisters, and best drinks, laughs and such a good time I wish I could give 20 stars.
What a gem! There is open mic comedy on Fridays, Drag Thursdays, Trivia Mondays! So many fun possibilities. If you are looking for an unpretentious bar to go and sing your heart out, this is the place to be! Evan is doing an amazing job of revitalizing this amazing karaoke bar!
This is the best karaoke bar in Milwaukee, nay, the entire state of Wisconsin. The people who sing here generally are really good and Richard is a hidden treasure of this city. Truly, listen to him sing "What A Wonderful World". You will weep from how beautiful his voice is.I love this place more than any bar in Milwaukee, hands down. This place is my jam.
Im not a karaoke geek, but I appreciate the aesthetic. This place has it, in spades. Great staff - bartender & DJ - who really get what the gig is. The place is comfy in its skin, and theres just enough of a stage (with 2 mics/mic standsfor folks to live the rockstar fantasy-- 1 song and 1 drink at a time. The "Cheers" of karaoke bars!
The drinks were cheap, great atmosphere. Karaoke list can fill up quick so I never got to sing the last time I went, but the time before that it was very fun singing. The crowd gets you hype. Loved it
