The High Llama in Beirut

The scrambled eggs with cream cheese very good but the portion is small. The honey ginger cinnamon latte is ok but theres no balance between all three ingredients empowered by ginger strong flavor.

Despite having this horrible disgusting plastic/paper bag in one of our burritos, the team was extremely unprofessional with dealing with this matter. Barely apologizing, the manager came with the full bill minus the burrito plate clueless of his job! Clearly the owners are irresponsible. I have never imagined leaving this place with a nausea!!

We had a warm porridge and a French toast, and we really loved the food ! The almond butter and honey that goes with it are amazing! Real flower honey. And a Great coffee, polite friendly service. Recommended:I wish I could eat more

Cosy coffee shop.If not ordering plain coffee it is damn expensive.3 coffees = lunch for 2 at a good Lebanese restaurantThey should check their pricing again otherwise it feels like a ripoff

Cute little place in Ashrafieh, located in a renovated old building, there’s a parking lot right in front of it too. The food was good, but some things were a little out of place. They sounded nicer in the menu, so we were kind of disappointed when we tasted the food. The potato and cheese dip is basically mashed potatoes served with chips that crushed to the point that you can’t even use them to dip. The croque monsieur’s bechamel sauce is non-existent and it was a bit dry. The burrata and poached egg is a bit confusing since there’s also another burrata salad dish. The pain perdu was good. I will give it another chance and try more dishes because the taste was delicious.

The High Llama Bistro is their new concept, just one street away, great cocktails and atmosphere, English-style. Perfect for an after dinner, cozy and calm atmosphere. We didnt try their food yet.

Food is a bit pricey but one of the few brunch spots in beirut. Service is swift and efficient. Also home to some of Beirut’s best waiters, Adnan and Jad. Come for breakfast!

Nice place with a nice vibe and good service.The coffee is good but the food is mediocre. Our eggs arrived cold, in my case, and undercooked in my wife’s case.

The interior is very minimal and cozy. Its a nice atmosphere. The coffee was good and the food was so delicious. I enjoyed my meal and the whole setting a lot.

Cute place at an old beautiful building. It has a nice small seating area outside but inside is not that cozy. Seatings inside are very uncomfortable. Staff isnt friendly or kind, theyre just doing their job. Coffee and food is good though. In my opinion it needs renovation inside, new seatings and better service.

A very nice cafe in a beautiful old house in an interesting area of Beirut. The coffee is great, and they have a good menu, but service is unbelievably slow.Definitely worth a visit if you’re not in a hurry !

Twice as expensive as a good cafe for half the quality, the pancakes were crumbly so you couldn’t eat them with a fork let alone cut them with a knife, mocha tasted so bland, and if you’re a smoker even iqos isn’t allowed so you’ll have to sit on a tiny porch on the street

The food was a bit pricy but it was delicious and beautifully presented. We had the breakfast tacos, egg sandwich, and the vegan pancakes. The only downside is they charged us 35,000 for adding honey to the matcha latte. That felt a bit excessive for a spoon of honey.

Loved the atmosphere! Staff is super friendly, and give excellent recommendations for food. Cocktails are 10/10 and their pain perdu is amazing.

The food quality is really fresh and the variety is rich and creative. However, prices are not much affordable for a weekly visit by middle-class Lebanese citizen in such a situation.

The new location of The High Llama is nicely curated. Not many seats outdoors but take away and delivery are available. Many options to choose from, savory and sweet. Nice selection of coffees and teas.

We frequently passed by this establishment in ashrafieh and elected to give it a try today. We walked into an establishment wherein modest corona-adequate safety measures were in place; while staff members were effectively wearing masks, maskless customers were seated in too compact a configuration. Hoping to distance ourselves from the crowd on the first floor, we walked up the stairs towards the second floor when we were subject to a rather abrupt greeting from one of the far too few staff members who elected to exclusively apprise us of the second floors current unavailability. I wish to proffer helpful insight to the establishment in this regard : signs are usually a good idea!Given that it was our first visit, I asked a staff member if the establishment adopted a self-service model. He assured me this was not the case and that someone would be with us promptly. We found a place to sit where we waited for nearly 30 minutes, keeping multiple eyes out for any sign of accommodation from the staff who, even when prompted, possibly opined that we didnt look nearly hungry enough to qualify for decent or any other possible other kind of service. I humbly submit that, should you ever be subjected to such treatment, you owe it to yourself to leave and sate your hunger at a place which strives to make their customers feel valued and taken care of rather than subject to presumptuous attitude/ severe symptoms of understaffing

Very good coffee! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable, they can recommend a coffee that suits your taste. Plus, it’s One of the rare places that offer bagels! On top of that, the atmosphere is serene, with nice background music and interesting books to help you unwind and enjoy your coffee. You will loose track of time and will leave your worries behind.

Nice coffee shop in Achrafieh serving breakfast options, good coffee and healthy salads. I was there a couple of times and tried some of their items. Food was good, service can be slow but its ok if you are not in a rush. What can be improved is the seating, seats are not that comfortable. For a stay in a coffee shop, i would prefer to have few couches.

A fine café bar in Achrafieh, many light vegan cakes and goodies, very good tea options amongst other brewerages, kind and caring staff, feels like a little nest where you can enjoy a soft loving 💖🤗 conversation with partner or friends, cozy ambiance. Recommended

The concept is very nice and they have good coffee and food. However, the service is not good enough, they are slow and not aware of customers needs. The menu is printed in paper and they only have 3 or 4 copies, they took mine while reading it to be able to show it to another table.

I walked in to grab coffee or tea and a snack. The latte was pretty nice and the chocolate chips vegan cookies too (I was happy to find vegan options). However, when I came to pay the bill, the waiter asked for 15 USD!!! I asked why, he said that the cookies were 3.50$ each and the latte more expensive as I had chose a vegan milk (the menu on the wall didnt mention the extra for nut milkfor a total of 8$. As for many places in Beirut, it could be a very nice cafe, but waaaay too expensive...

After i saw this place on Instagram i definitely had to try. It is a small coffee shop with a calm and cozy atmosphere, it is not suitable for smokers since there is no smoking area. The coffee was good and the sweets are delicious, especially the brownies, they are the best Ive ever had.

Its a modern and stylish café. A quiet place. Good for work or chill out or have a good conversation. There are many editions of Monocle piling in the corners of the Café, giving the impression that the very place came out of one of their pages.The coffee itself is pricy, but pretty good.

Great little coffee shop in Ashrafieh. Awesome coffee and flavorful. Their beans and brew methods really give a unique taste to their coffee. Parking can be problematic if youre driving.At an average of 8000 LBP (5.3$per cup, its slightly more expensive than the rest, but its not for nothing.

New coffee place in the heart of Ashrafieh with a good selection of Colombian and Ethiopian coffees. I tried both their Chemex and Syphon and their home-made desserts. Nothing fancy about the desserts but they were decent. They offer a wide variety of hot drinks, like Matcha Latte, Golden Turmeric Latte, and Maca Chocolate.Their setup is really nice and allows for a good work environment. It’s spacious with light music. A new favorite spot!

It was like “finally I might have a decent cappuccino in Achrafieh!”But.... coffee taste is very average and overpriced for what you get. It looks like barista is at the “beginner” level though they charge 6 usd for a cup of coffee... design pretends to be simple and cool, but failed in comfort seating. Overall, it’s not bad spot given the fact of absence of alternatives on walking distance in the neighborhood.

A cosy nice place in the middle of Ashrafieh; the staff is super friendly and nice, the music (Jazzwas perfect for a Sunday brunch.The food was tasty: we had the New Yorker smoked salmon and the beiruti bagels; they were both good.The coffee is not to miss; the roast is just perfect.I also tried the banana chocolate cake; a must try for banana lovers 😁.I recommend the place. You must try it.

A cool new place to chill and have some nice coffee.. their blends are a bit stronger than balanced, rather get it on a lower level to be more favourable on the overall taste.. yet nice service

I saw this place on Instagram and I went today and I literally fell in love with their coffee. I had the Yirgacheffe/ Ethiopia blend and it was amazinggg. Their pumpkin soup was good too.I highly recommended this coffee shop for studying or hanging out with friends.Super friendly staff and nice music !

Great coffee and homemade desserts. The carrot cake was exceptionally mouthwatering! The staff is really nice and welcoming. Definitely coming back!
