The Haven Self Catering Cottage in Swellendam

My husband and I arrived after a long drive and were warmly welcomed by Gabriella and her husband.They were so helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The garden setting and pool are also lovely.Can recommend their cottages

We had wonderful time in our stay at Lantern. We stayed at Thatched cottage, which is very spacious, with lovely furnishing and also cool in summer. Sparkly clean swimming pool is surrounded by lush garden. Owners were very friendly. We will definitively be back.

We are a young couple traveling with a one year old. The host is fabulous. We arrived at Swellendam in the evening at 8:30 and she was still able to host us and gave us one of the best rooms at a reasonable price. The room was gorgeous! The only down side is that the room is quite dusty, and it felt it has not been cleaned for a while.

What a beautiful little spot, nice and cosy when its cold, and will definitely be back to have a swim in the pool next to the braai. Very friendly owners.

The shower was blocked up and slippery. The chandleers had webs on it. The firewood wasnt available upon arrival. Coffee and tea provided only 2 coffees and 4 teas and a 200ml milk provided. No kitchen cloths or sunlight liquid. The chimney wasnt clean and the whole place smoked up. Beautifully furnished but not travel friendly. I really expected more for the price paid. We left early because we cod enjoy the rest of my birthday better at home.

Great and very cozy

While the "Karoo Cottage" (a family unititself was adequate for my husband, daughter and I, just 2 coffee satchets were provided during our stay. Although advertised as having wi-fi of facilities, we were unable to connect at all, which was a great inconvenience as we both had admin work to catch up on. I dont think well return.

Always a pleasant visit. It is our third time and every time has been special. What an awesome getaway. Loved it.

A beautifully designed place. There are 3 independent cottages available. Make sure you check you are not getting the smallest room. It is not sufficient for a couple. Otherwise the rooms were really spacious and well maintained.They have a lovely barbecue and pool area along with a few rabbits around. They have a very friendly dog Emma who is always very super excited to welcome every guest. The couple who hosts this place is very lively and friendly. They suggested us to go to Barrels and Blue pub in the neighborhood which was a really good place to catch some drinks & dinner.

Lovely cottage in a tranquil setting. Staff is friendly and helpful but not overbearing or invasive, which is a tough balance to find. Clean, neat, cozy. Definitely would recommend.

That place is fantastic. You have a really nice garden area with a pool and a BBQ area.The hosts were very nice and very helpful. The cottage is really nice decorated with a look on every detail. The kitchenside has everything you need. With the hosts lives a pretty lovely dog named Emma. She is such a sweetheart and loves to get pet by the visitors. By foot you can access several restaurants and the town centre is also nearby.If you have time you have to stay at this place just to get some rest. I truly recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely Country cottages, perfect place to be in the country. If you ever go to Swellendam this is the place to stay!!!
