The Harp - Irish pub in Boise, United States
We stopped in here after we googled closest Irish Pub after attempting to attend non Renaissance Faire. So glad we found this gem. Everyone was so fun! Hi Pam... Food fantastic and Cocktails on point.
Warm, family feel for a pub....and the food is surprisingly amazing.
Great Irish beers and food. Bar like atmosphere so Im sure it gets interesting after 5pm.
A great Irish pub! Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. Only thing that was disappointing was the sandwiches dont come with any side...chips, fries, anything? Who serves just a sandwich? Add chips and it would be perfect.
Love this spot and the decor. Such a chill vibe. A really good Guinness pour and the cocktail menu is plenty to choose from. Great whiskey selection as well! Highly recommend.
Absolutely the best pint of Guinness in the northwest made this Irishman very happy. All pints were poured perfectly and left to settle before topping off. The staff certainly know what theyre doing. And not a bad Reuben either. I will be returning......and soon.
Pigs n blankets are tasty, but they have a better name for them.
These guys are awesome, I’ve made it my regular spot, drinks are great. Atmosphere even better, owner is a hard working lady and is always a pleasure to talk to. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Great Irish Pub. With a variety of Irish whiskeys. Music was fun. Definitely going back. Next time I will try the food.
Make sure to order the bread pudding for dessert, you wont be disappointed.
Update:I was looking forward to going to the harp again, so we did. Very dissatisfied. Lamb stew was mushy, our friend had the lamb, Lettuce and tomato sandwich and the tomato was thicker than the tiny, thin slice of lamb. For the price we paid, not worth it.Love the concept, but at least put out a good portion size. You have got to go and visit this awesome, authentic Irish pub! Great service by Rich, great beer and great food!! And family owned.
Food was good but I found a hair in my sandwich. No big deal it happens but I didnt get a new sandwich or a discount on my meal. I only ate half my sandwich but still had to pay full price.
Pathetic service and food. Took the waiter 15min to bring spoons for dessert, my wife had to go to the bar and get glasses of water and dessert came to us 1/2 hr after ordering. Waiter and waitress skirted our table and not once asked, if we needed anything. They helped patrons around us, but not us. I am a service connect veteran, and was threatened with harm by the waiter if I didnt back off!! While teying to speak to a manager. I will take the time to advertise to my fellow veterans to stay away from this establishment and follow up on filing a complaint with the proper authorities upon discrimination as I was the only colored person there and was not served due to the color of my skin. Sad to say, racism still exists in our time and place today. Very sad and disappointed as I served this country and protected the rights of some of those who dont deserve it
I went on St. Patricks Day and it was standing room only! Despite the crowd, the servers were friendly and attentive! The Irish Kiss was amazing!
Perfect place for a warm schnapps at an amazing Irish Pub! Delish food, good old Irish music and great staff.
Wow I was surprised by their authentic Irish food - the corned beef and cabbage was great! Dont know how many times we drove by without noticing the place, but am real glad we went in, will definitely go back.
Very disappointed in communication from the staff. We waited 1 hour for our appetizer(meat/cheese boardand 2 hours for our entrees. My mashed potatoes were cold. We found out they were down a cook and a oven which we can understand. What we didnt understand is the owner wouldnt comp any of our bill. They took off one drink. That was a slap in the face. The manager tried to do more but we understood his hands were tied. Ill never recommend anyone to The Harp. We visited multiple times before. Never again.
Two hours later with no food, the owner decided to be rude and snappy, when we finally got food it was OK but my friends potatoes were cold. Also shouldnt you check in on your tables as your waiting? So much for heading to an Irish pub as something on my bucket list..
Definitely stop in you won’t regret it!I wouldn’t say I’m a regular here but you only have to go a few times to feel like they know who you are.I’ve always had a great time, the food is delicious, and the beer is good. It’s the only place I’ve been that pours Guinness and draws a clover in the foam on top! Definitely one of my favorite places in the valley!
First off they have the best selection of irish beer anywhere state side I have ever seen. Second they have incredible food, I started with a Reuben and will be coming back to try everything else on the menu, not only is it amazing food but they locally source.
I would love to give this place 5 stars but after several visits I just cant. The atmosphere is authentic Irish and they deliver on several key points but miss on others. Worth a trip, just dont be in a hurry (app took 35 minutesand dont order the mac and cheese (very dry). Most of the food is amazing, but they do tend to be small on the protien portions of the meal.
The waitress was the only employee helping customers. She was a bartender, waitress and hostess. The sign on the door said help needed... and they do. Drinks were good . Food was just bar food but she never made us feel like we had less then all her attention. She was carrying the entire load alone and that was why I gave 4 stars. If anyone knows someone who needs a job please send them there. I wanted so much to just help her. All in all. Nice place to try.
Food & drinks were amazing! The only reason it fell short of 5 stars is because we waited a while for our food but I would give it 4.5! It was worth the wait. They were also very accommodating of my gluten allergy. Overall a great experience!
Today we were so excited to go to an Irish pub but it was a disaster. We ordered and waited and waited and waited for over 2 hrs for patotoe soup and 2 sandwiches. I think the server while very nice had no idea what to do when the cook dudntcommunicate with her. Very few people in the pub so it wasnt like the cook was slammed just so slow. The food was marginally okay nothing to write home about. Dont plan on returning.
Excellent food, a fine selection of cocktails and drinks and a cute interior make The Harp a lovely place for gathering. Small tables may limit group size for those with larger parties, and there is no outdoor seating to speak of. All the food was delicious, and our waitress was great.
Wonderful Irish restaurant and bar. The food(appetizers, entrees, desserts! Was all delicious.6 of us orders 6 different things and we all tried each others food and i wish i would have ordered one of everything! Haha!
We had a great time on St. Patricks Day. The staff was fantastic. They ran out of food way to soon. Great evening of fun.
Great pub ! If you a re looking for a pub close to the Irish feel this is it. We had a dark haired bartender that was very nice and was a great conversation. The owner was there as well and was very friendly and helped us with our beer selection. They didn’t make us wear a mask upon entering and were a great pub 10/10!
The problems started when they said they were out of potatoes (ironic for an Irish establishment, don’t ya think...and couldn’t serve anything with them, like shepherds pie or bangers and mash. There goes all the things we were wanting to order from scouting their menu beforehand. So I ordered the steak and accepted a substitution for the potato waffles. 20 MINUTES later the waitress came back saying they were out of steak and I’d need to order something else. Our food took another 30 MINUTES past that to make (we ordered two ruebens, a lamb BLT, and Mac and cheese. Not cracking any culinary barriers here). Quality was so-so. Wasn’t bad, but nothing to recommend to anyone else. Over an hour and a half total time to get in and out. Waitress was friendly and the atmosphere and decor was pretty cool, but not enough to make up for the long wait times, lack of menu items, and so-so food. Would not recommend.
Stopped in for the first time today with my wife and a buddy. Little did I know you could do so many things with Jameson. Our server/bartender Taylor was super cool and basically concocted a drink for my buddy off the cuff and nailed it. We had their wings with the honey bourbon sauce, mac n cheese, and the to-die-for bread pudding. Cant say enough good about the drinks (Irish doe, Irish mule, and custom order), food, and service. Cant wait to be back, thanks Taylor!
This place is amazing! Service is swift, knowledgable, and friendly. The atmosphere is rich in Irish themes with a great music selection (Flogging Molly is my favoriteand traditional fare. There is a decent selection of brews on tap and a friendly crowd to share them with. A humble menu with some traditional favorites as well. I can see The Harp becoming a favorite local watering hole....sadly, I live 30 min away.
Nice pub good food quick service the night we were there. Bartending for drinks was definitely paying attention. Tried sausage rolls they were good.Reuben was good. Lamb sandwich was ok, Im not a lamb fan though to begin with.
Great Irish pub and grill!! So good we visited 2 times the first day and went back for our breakfast the next morning!! Definitely try their Sunday scotch egg special! All 3 of our bartenders were awesome and very attentive and helpful with drinks! Could spend all day there as its not your typical loud and rowdy scene. Great atmosphere!!
Such a great place for a lot of fun.Food was very good, yum!
Corned beef and cabbage. The cabbage was kind of bland but the corned beef was amazing! And the potatoes...well not much I can say but, wow! So flavorful!
Phenomenal service and very high quality of food (we got a starter- lamb stew with homemade soda bread and for our entrees we got bangers and mash and Shepards pie). Drinks were also very satisfying- 3 Harp lagers and a Jameson old fashion. An overall great atmosphere here, too!
This place was absolutely great. The Guinness and Smithwicks were fresh. The food was authentic. Less actually being in Ireland, this place was as good as you could get. The only negative I have--youre not in Twin Falls! Id be a regular if you were. Thanks for a great meal and great memory. Ill be back.
Been wanting to try the Harp for several months as I love all things Irish. Although the atmosphere is nice, the tables and chairs are quite uncomfortable. Ordered the sausage bites for appetizer and they were delicious. For the entree I ordered the Boxty Steak at the server’s recommendation. It was so tough it took work to cut with the steak knife. It was not a pleasant experience. Owner stopped to ask how it was and I said “I’d not order that again” she proceeded to make the excuse that maybe she needed to change the cut of meat and that these steaks hadn’t had time to marinate. I would assume if you have a special on Friday’s and Saturday’s you should be able plan accordingly and have time to marinate properly. I do not recommend and would not eat there again.
OMG BEST SHEPHERDS PIE I’VE EVER HAD. Great atmosphere and even better service. A MUST TRY!!
We came up on this place by accident, but will be returning on purpose. Repeatedly.
We love this place!Friendly staff & crazy amazing food 🍺🇮🇪🍀😋🍻 Worth the 30 min drive to us. ♡
Walked in and it was bright and clean. Bartender was friendly and funny. Good prices, they were playing different awesome Irish rock, curling was on TV. Got crowded and a new bartender kept checking on us...they put on hurling (Irish national sportso we could watch...amazing place...great menu for food and for alcohol. We will be going back and recommending as often as we can!
Great Irish Food and Pub. They also had great music on
We have been to the harp before, and waited an extremely long time for drinks, but the food was delicious, so we thought “oh it’s new they are still figuring it out we will try it again”, so we went back.... it was an absolute disaster. We walked in, one other table was there. The waitress was nice got our soda quick. Ordered an appetizer which we got in a timely fashion. We ordered sausage rolls and two soups, three other tables came in. We waited 35 minutes, the sausage rolls came out. We waited another 15 minutes with no sign of soups coming out. The waitress didn’t even address when our food would come out until we asked what was taking so long We asked for the check, and left. In those 50 minutes we waited, every table got food before us, except not all at one time. Everyone got one item from their order, and then another, ten or fifteen minutes later. We will not be returning, and unfortunately so because the food is delicious, but not delicious enough to deal with the terrible service. I hope you guys can get it figured out. No one is going to pay for that.
The owner and people here are so fun and helpful. Comfort food for those that know the or descent for the Eire motherland. Beer and whiskey oplenty!
Weve been looking for a place that offers good authentic Irish food and we finally found The Harp. This place has amazing food and drinks at really good prices. It is definitely one of our local favorites.
Absolutely delicious food! Im definitely coming back for more. The service was wonderful, the Places youve visited in Irealnd map was a blast to be a part of, and I thought it overall has a very cozy welcoming vibe. I ordered the LLT which tested amazing! I loved the tender lamb slices and the sauce has a slight spiciness kick to it which is fabulous! The bread pudding was also tasty.
This place is amazing. Do yourself a favor and go eat here! The mac n cheese is amazing. Tastes like the same beer cheese used in the equally amazing pretzel bites n beer cheese. Oh, and get the boxty n steak. Youll thank me later!
Cool place! It has the feel of being in a pub in Ireland; except it is clean and there is enormous amount of natural light.Offers beer and mixed drinks with food. I think at launch it was a limited menu but they plan to have more options going forward. It has great potential. I hope to see them stick around and be successful
Great new addition to the valley! Good selection of Irish draught and whiskey, with some traditional food menu items as an accompaniment. Great service, plenty of seating, good looking pub. I wont be a stranger to this place!
