The Halal Guys - Halal restaurant in Seattle, United States
Accepted our order on Uber Eats, neon sign says OPEN but the place is closed. Google also says it’s open with hours updated 3 weeks ago. Terrible management!!
Ordered falafel sandwich, chicken platter and roasted red pepper hummus. Taste was good!
ordered chicken platter. just average. I am expecting the chicken to be better flavored / marinated. Ingredients are fresh.
I love their beef
Pretty good. Not as good as the east coast halal carts, but it satisfies a craving for that sort of thing. One thing thatd go a long way is if theyd brown the chicken a little on the flat top. As it is, the chicken is a bit pale and steamed/boiled looking.
The absolutely most disgusting dry chicken with stale beef wrap I ever had.
Great customer service and very delicious place for gyros!!! And great quality food. Will definitely come back 👍☺
Great place, the staff was very welcoming and nice. Food was good too, maybe a bit overpriced but overall still good!!
Very yummyAnd can be very spicy if you like that
Its not Manhattan outside the midtown Hilton but its still pretty good when you slather on the white sauce and some hot sauce. Got a chicken and added falafel (2 piece). Filling and tasty eats before a soccer match.
Falafel is really good there. Ordering one or two sides of falafel feels like really great value. Two falafel $2, four for $3, six for $4
I had a falafel sandwich and the falafels were very dry and small. The pita bread was dry and broke apart so everything just fell out. I have had them in Sacramento CA and they are delicious. I would never go to this place in Seattle WA again!
First time I had it in the NEW YORK CITY since then I like to eat every corner of the halal guys!love the unique taste and the combination. Yum!As its a small shop when it gets busy waiting area and also seating area are very tight. otherwise great place and taste…..
Very small portions and poor quality. I was in east coast and halal guys used to be my favorite. This one is nowhere close to it in terms of taste, quality and portion size.
What happened?!?! I used to love this place. This is the first time Ive been back since COVID. (I WFH now and it out of the way. Something about it just doesnt taste the same.
The portion really depends on the mood of the staffs. Sometimes they gave me a fair portion, sometimes not even half of the bowl is filled. If you do want hot food, go during the lunch/dinner hours. Otherwise, cold pita, cold chicken and cold beef.
I have had halal guys food on the east coast. I recall it being a lot tastier there. This isnt too bad though. The beef is much better than the chicken here.
Its just alright. Not a fan of the "sauce packets", because if you use a whole packet is easy too much, and I ended up throwing out more than half of mine.More importantly, though, when food is designed to be eaten by hand it should not be so messy and overflowing that everything spills out. This is particularly true at a time when there is no dine in and you have to eat in your car.Literally half the lettuce and tomatoes ended up on the floor...and since the sauce was the last thing to go on the sandwich sauce ended up all over my car.I understand that you "want to go give people their moneys worth" but where is the value to either of is when those "bonus" ingredients end up on the floor. And the. I have to clean it up. If you want to spend your day cleaning up lettuce and tomato from the tables in your restaurant thats fine. At least you get paid to do that; but it is still a complete waste of perfectly good produce.Either charge less and use a smaller amount of get larger bread. Or maybe learn to wrap them better (and apply the sauce BEFORE you wrap it).And if you need help figuring this out you can literally find any taqueria in Southern California and they can teach you how to wrap a burrito without wasting ANYTHING.
First off, the fries were crispy! Thats so uncommon in Seattle. Why are we a city of limp fries?Ok, second my gyro sandwich was full of flavor and ingredients. Yummy! Staff was polite and the store was clean. Cant ask for much more than that. I shall return!
Great, food, good service. It’s kind of a hybrid oof Greek and Middle Eastern. I confirmed with the manager everything they serve IS Halal, it’s not just their name. (I realize that doesn’t matter to everyone, just wanted to make that known for my Muslim brothers)
They are now charging 1 dollar for hummus. It used to be free earlier. This might be a change in their business model.I liked halal guys as it give multiple tastes in a platter but with this change they look similar to other food chains.
We went on the weekend but their wasnt a long lineup, only two people before me but they were very fast, we were able to use the bathroom as well which is very clean! The fellow was very helpful as well, great customer service, place is very clean and hygeinic!
Hello, This review is going to be quite long because I feel that I should be totally honest with you guys! And please understand that this was MY opinion of the food, I don’t if you’ll it or not. After all we all have different tastes and likes. Well, it all started when I was searching up Mediterranean Halal foods in Seattle and I happened to find ‘The Halal Guys’. I read and watched soo much good reviews on these foods. I was expecting a food a delicious meal. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Me and my family were ordering 3 combo platters and a sandwich which costed the total price of $50. We we first bought it, we were all excited to try this halal food which look delicious. Again it’s was not what we, I expected it to be. The chicken was cold and it had no flavor or taste. The salad portion was huge filled but tasted like a normal salad. The rice was dry and stale, and the pita bread was super dry and unsavory. This was not to my taste and liking, and I say that along with my family too. I have read about these guys having the best food in NYC (Which I’ve never been, but hoping to one day!!I had super high hopes for the chicken and beef gyro platters, the combos, and the sandwiches, but atlas it was not to my taste AT ALL. Again this is MY opinion and Taste. If you choose to take this warning, and not waste your money 💰 on this then congrats bud! Your saving up, right? But if you do chose to try this, good luck my friends!!
I used to eat at my favorite halal cart in NYC and I have missed it so much until today. Just like my favorite place. The ckicken/gyro platter is amazing and I bought white sauce to use on everything. I only wish it had a little hummus and it would’ve been perfect. Thank you for being my new favorite place! Eaters beware, I made the mistake once of putting on a small to moderate amount of hot sauce on my meal and I couldn’t eat my food because I was crying out of my eyes and nose. Street meat!
I got the family meal (gyro meat and falafelfor the great quarantine of 2020. 🤣 It was delicious! And a great amount for the price! The baklava is the best Ive ever had, thank you!(Note: there is no need for you to buy EXTRA sauce)And that hot sauce is no joke it might actually be the spiciest the on Seattle.
Ratings Scale 0 - 10Variety: 7Service or Product: 8Customer Service: 7Environment: 7Cleaning: 8Washroom: 7Cost: 8Always enjoy a meal at the halal guys! This location is quite small with paid parking around but still the food is yummy.
Chicken could ve tasted better.. tasted like bland boiled chicken.. maybe could use some more spices/marination?
I love this place. Reminds me of when Im in New York. Served the exact same way... In a foil bowl with a lid. I would recommend this place. It is halal because there is never no pork served in this establishment. The staff is friendly. I have signed up for their reward program. Im there usually on Thursday or Friday evenings as my weekly dinner treat. Never had any problems with staff or the quality/quantity of the food. Enjoy! 😊
I miss the food carts in NYC, but this was every bit as good! Service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing!
Reminds me of new York street halal food. Its great
Wow! What a delicious sandwiches! All Halal, one sandwich is big enough to make you full to the rest of the day. Fast and great service! Must try if you are around 😉 nice staff running the property. recommend it
The food was really great! The place was bit crowded small space and the desks were not that clean. The customer service was not one of the greatest. If the customer service was grear I would have gone for a 4 star!
Of course, if you have been to NYC, you have tried the Halal Guys. So its so cool when they came to Seattle. I had great expectations from them but sadly the food did not withhold those standards. The location and ambience of this place is casual, quick and friendly. I missed the carts from NY but this was a good experience too. I like that I was able to grab food from here and either sit in the restaurant itself (though it was pretty fullor go to Pioneer square itself. I like the location because I was able to sit outside in the park and just people watch. It was great. The food is just average rice and chicken, nothing too memorable, frankly. I had it because of nostalgic reasons and havent returned since.Overall, its an average place worth trying once but for the real deal, you got to visit the original location.Tip: the sauces are truly what makes the meal great. So get a good amount of sauce, otherwise it will be very bland and not that tasty.
Always delicious and open late! Its a deconstructed gyro if you go for the platter with the wonderful inclusion of perfectly spiced rice.Beware though, the red sauce is not for the casual spicy lover. Like really, dont let it ruin an otherwise great quick meal
Not as good as NY cart, but nonetheless it is decent. Location is in a shady place, hope they open at another location in Seattle. Small place with limited seating area. They do not have the sauce packets which are so popular, they just put the sauce from the bottle and no extra sauce is given.
The food was NOT worth the price. Service is good but mainly the food is poorly thought of. I am Middle Eastern and I know how it should taste. This is an updated exactly one year since my last visit. Today’s date is March 18/19This place is a joke. I thought I would give them another chance maybe they have improved in a YEAR. Nope not a bit, in fact they have gotten worse. (Service was okaypoor little girl looked like she hates working their. I Don’t blame her.The place looked so not clean and disorganized especially the food counters. And are you kidding??? That pile of chicken on that grill is disgusting. Who does that? You understand this is a restaurant not a gyro truck!! The prices are sooo not worth the food. And I doubt if that meat is Halal. Also what is that “white sauce” if you want to make a middle eastern garlic sauce make one very easy, just mix some yogurt and garlic with salt. So bad im sorry. You either improve or just stick to your trucks in New York City because this is not acceptable in seattle sorry.I wish I can get my money back. But I guess this will help save someone from this. 🙂
5/5 rating for this. their chicken is the best ! Wish they had more items on their menu. Liked this place in Seattle downtown. Add hot sauce only if you can take the spiciness.
Great platter real great Sharma and platter - their white sauce is magic of this place but date to try red chilli hot sauce :let me know what you think about that
Delicious food. Tasty sauces. Perfect seasoning. Went very light on the red sauce, so spicy
I never had Halal Guys in NY so I cant compare. I had the combo small plate. Food was good. I dont know what the hype is all about. It taste just as good as any gyro restaurant Ive been to. The rice is different and I liked it. The white sauce is ok. Just make sure they put enough on your plate. The hot sauce is very hot. A little is extreme
If you can avoid the lunch rush and the 2am drunks, then Halal Guys is wonderful establishment with outstanding food. Parking can be tricky but just turn on those hazards and you can leave your car unattended for as long as you feel lucky. Otherwise, count on circling the block until hell freezes over. The guy with long hair behind the counter is the real reason to give 5 stars because he hooked it up with white sauce all day.
Probably the best meal i had in town! Huge portion. Cheap. Delicious. SPICY!!!
We decided to give this a try today while walking around Pioneer Square. We walked in and no one welcomed us. No one from the staff was smiling. The young lady behind the counter was not even looking at us when we came to order. I said Hi to get her attention and I could barely hear her voice as she was talking to me. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a combo plate. The total was around $23. A little overpriced compared to other gyro places. The sandwich itself was good - nothing too fancy. The pita was a little soggy. I saw that they were all left out on the stove. The chicken tasted good. The veggies had no taste. The hot sauce is VERY hot. You have been warned. I wish that I had received a warning from the employees. It is the hottest hot sauce I have ever had. And Ive had a lot of spicy food in the past. But if you enjoy this level of heat - go for it, youll love it! The restaurant and restroom were clean. Service was fast too.
I went to this place because it reminded me of the halal guys in Manhattan, NY. Still, it did not offer the same taste i did in NYC. The chicken was dry and overcooked. They offered two size. Small size of $9.99 and regular $11.99 which were more expensive than the original one. I understood because they sold in the restaurant. They should maintain their symbol by using their truck.
Seattle’s first taste of the Famous Newyork food truck sensation, now a series of fast food chains across US. The chicken bowl was great, layered with beautifully flavoured pilaf rice, wonderfully cooked chicken, and a great sauce. One of the best I have had, not just in Seattle but across, service was quick & friendly, definitely my first, but not my last visit here.
The food here is really nice. They have a small menu but they really do a good job. The chicken platter has essence of Asian, Mediterranean and American food. This place was a good discovery.
If you like fast food, you might like this. But my expectations were higher. Its not like the meat is carefully prepared in the back by a butcher; we watched as the employees defrosted huge chunks of meat before frying it up. There are much better options for Gyros and Chicken and Rice (food truckin the area. My own dish was soaked in white sauce and included odd tasting felafel, undoubtedly also made elsewhere and defrosted. The poor quality of the food, along with the deafening noise of metal on metal as the meat is chopped, made for a terrible experience. There are many great food options in Pioneer Square; this is not one of them.
This Halal Guys is not as good as 53rd and 6th in NYC, but it comes close enough. I have no idea what people are saying about it being slow, other than the first day, as I walked in on a Monday afternoon and was in and out in probably a minute. I understand there being lines as it just opened up and there still is a lot of hype. The white sauce is the same, hot sauce is the same and is just as hot, rice is the same, pita is the same, and the chicken is almost as good and isnt dry at all (its more dry in NYC). I dont understand the complaints - it put a smile on my face and took me back to NYC.Price is $13 which is quite a big difference from NYC, but I understand having a brick & mortar store in downtown Seattle costs more to rent and operate than a tiny food truck.Maybe people dont understand its not meant to be a fancy looking dish? It always visually looks like a mess, and its supposed to.Go, enjoy, realize its not meant to be pretty looking, eat, you wont regret it.Edit: I went again and staff do not concentrate on the customer and dont listen to your order. I had problems with two orders not being correct in a row, so I bumped this to a 4/5.
Not quite as amazing as the NYC version and Im disappointed that they only have the white sauce behind the counter. But its still a solid greasy spoon/ late night spot.
I got the chicken plate and it was good. We waited for too long, they are very slow. Its over priced for the quality and quantity of food.
