The Habit Burger Grill in Modesto

I waited 30 minutes for a Burger, onion ring, and a shake, and was hoping that since it took so long, I would get hot food. I took it straight to my car to dig into my hot food. It was all completely cold. They also got my order wrong. While I was waiting, I heard about 8 different people complaining that their orders were wrong and every single person complained about the wait time. I heard no apologies to anyone. I had to take mine home, doctor it up, and nuke it, yuk. $16 for cold food and a 30 minute wait deserves a 1 star rating. Oh, and there were black crumbs in my shake🤮

The first time you have a chance at the top is the second one you get a free pass and you can go on your way back and then go to your car to pick them out of your house or whatever they have in the garage so they don’t know what they’re going to be there for and they will give you a ticket and then they will take it back and you get the money and they have a free ride back and you can get your car and they can take you home or yei or whatever you like and they will be able you just pay for it and you can go back home you don’t care about it and they don’t want your kids or tywywt and you can pay them for you have a car and then they can pay them and you

Great Burger joint with a variety of options. I love the teriyaki burger! Delish!

I am never disappointed! Even if they do forget something if you dine in they fix it immediately!

Excellent burgers and chicken sandwich. The tempura green beans are a must have. Their signature juices are delish! Try their new parmesan pesto grilled chicken sandwich! Best chicken sandwich they have ever made!

Good food bad wait time. Ordered at 6:21p but got my food at 6:45p. It tasted great but I could have went to a sit down restaurant if I wanted to wait.Not happy about their service at all. No apologies.

This is a nice place to grab a vegan sandwich (cant call it a burger!and sweet potato fries! We use the mobile app to order and our food is usually always ready for pick up by the time we arrive after only drive a couple miles to their location. We have ordered for delivery and there has not been any problems with getting our orders correct. My only reason for not giving this store a 5 star is the way the food is placed in the bags. The sweet potato fries always are stacked on top of each other and become kinda mushy which is not a good thing. Hoping the corporate gets enough input to do something different about that.

They put avocado on my burger it wasnt in description and i didnt add it on! Im allergic!

Has the regular char burger, no onionsbor tomatoes + avocado & drink. Great value for my meal.

Nice variety for a menu in case you dont want a burger. We had the burgers and they are very good. Great service but a bit slow.

They have great food for a reasonable price and great service towards their customers. Ive been there on several different occasions and I was always impressed with their service. Too bad they dont have a drive thru ...👍👍👍👍👍

The burgers here are the bomb! I cant really say that because I only always get the Santa Barbara Char. Its the best! Its right by house, so not there best idea but the self control is working out for now... I also always get their sweet potato fries. A-mazing!!! The place does an excellent job, the workers are awesome! Ignore the karens on Yelp or at the store complaining about goes know what. My parents came by to visit the other day and they prefer ordering in. I suggested Habit and they went for it. They got the impossible burger substitutions and loved it!

Best strawberry milkshake around! Not to mention super nice 😊 currently doing the Happy milkshake dance in the car lol

You get a 1 🌟 when I walk in to give my order and Im the only one in line and theres 2 ladies behind the counter and 1 of them sees you, looks at you and doesnt take your order. She just keeps on talking. Looks at me again and again and makes NO attempt to take my order UNTIL the cook sees her looking at me and tells her "hey, shes waiting"... and STILL doesnt come to take my order. The other lady finally sees me and comes right over to take my order.Let me add- I did not say one word because its not my way at this particular location. Also giving a 1 🌟 because Ive been to this location maybe 10 times and I can honestly say Ive had good service once. Ive given enough chances...Please do better.

Burger is good but its just too small for the price you pay

So I went in today with my friend and my meal came out great only issue was my friends meal cuz he likes to have a dry bun and he also order no cheese his burger so on the 1st burger we got for him they put butter on his bun so they remade the next one, but then they put mayo and cheese when we specifically said no mayo and cheese unfortunately its very upsetting that they messed it up twice and my friend didnt want to eat it anymore plz I ask that ur team member double check the ticket because I really enjoyed going here but if they cant get my order right then idk if I can go back .

This are the only burgers I can eat, they are tasty and delicious, they can be single or combo with fries and soda, also sizes, actually some options can be in a salad. Prices are good. The environment is comfortable, and the decoration is simple and enjoyable. I love the how families meet her for dinner but also is nice for a night date.

I personally dont think their burgers are all that for the price they charge, dry beef, dry buns, but the salads are normally on point. Could be cheaper. Most Habits are clean with friendly staff, which IS appreciated

My mother and her friend received bad service. My mother found a strand of hair deep in her salad. Employee taking the strand of hair showing it to employees and starts laughing and looking at my mothers hair and casually laughing. Restaurant Employees laughing in the background and while walking behind her. Employee not handing the food to my mom and putting the food to aside and walking away saying nothing. Couple moments after starts casually laughing again. This is not a good restaurant employee service. And the amount of this disrespect is unspeakable. WHAT A SHAME OF MANAGER.

Too bad this place is not POC friendly. My mother and her friend received terrible service from the manager on duty. They found a thick black hair in their dinner. When they kindly asked if the kitchen could remake the item, the manager with blonde hair turned to her coworkers and laughed. My mother and her friend felt so insulted that they left. What an absolute waste of money.

If you like finding long black hair in your salad and then being laughed at by the white blonde manager when you show them then definitely come here. Otherwise don’t come here and get laughed at for trying to enjoy a meal.

I ordered almost 10 burgers and it came in 5 mins!!! Fast service friendly staff gave me 2 burgers for free because the barcode wasn’t working. To the guy who helped us that day, if your reading this THANK YOU. ❤️

Habit is such a great eatery it has tempura green beans which are absolutely Divine the Santa Barbara char Burger is to absolutely die for and their newly added brussel sprouts are about the best thing since the creation of the Earth I am addicted to their brussel sprouts and not a single restaurant on this universe can say that

First time being here, right off the bat the staff was very respectful and kind. The manager expectably, I was watching his every move because now days I feel the wrong people are being placed in the wrong positions. He was very kind and generous he made sure everybody was happy and ontop of that if he didn’t remember doing something he just added it instead of going through the trouble to double check. He also checked on his employees and when their was a bit of a wait he was very respectful and kind letting people know he’s greatful for their patience. So shout out to the manager!!

Yummy vegan burger! Theg have a veggie burger as well as the Impossible. I got the Impossible burger with caramelized onions (*EDIT* I have read various things that the grilled onions may or may not be vegan. I would avoid them unless you can confirm). I was surprised that it was so cheap, cheaper than I have gotten it from a fast food place. It was $6 and some change.. The bun was nice and fluffy and the grilled onions added a great taste. The lady who took our order was very nice, called us "honey" and did a good job suggesting things for order. The food came out hot and quickly. My bf had Habit before in another state and he did not want to eat here because he said the fold was bad then, but after having a burger here this time he said he would definitely want to go back again. His was a meat hamburger not a vegan one.

As a Dasher: This location is usually pretty Awesome! Some staff may need re-training. Isaac Handled it like a Champ while Management seemed to be having a bad day.

When a place makes you use your ATM card instead of money that is wrong. Want to place how do you have to have the exact amount because they cant get change they are lying. If you have to pay the exact because they say they dont have change and rounded up to the higher dollar they are stealing. I tried to explain keeping someone change is no different than the person going on the other side of the counter taking a hamburger and eat it without paying for it theyre both stealing. The only reason they got four stars because the food is great.

Usually love the food but waited over an hour for cold food (ordered curbside from the app). When my husband asked if it could be remade, the manager got upset and slammed the fries down spilling them everywhere - it was awkward. Next time I am craving a burger from Habit, I will go to a location with a drive thru.

I have always liked Habit but lately its not as good. Burgers are hastily put together and lacking sufficient toppings. Fries were a little soft not crispy.

Placed order as curbside pick up. Got.my text order was finished and would be out shortly. Twenty minutes I had to walk in to see where my order was. It was sitting on counter with other orders being prepped. While I will agree they were busy, if you have a curbside order ready it should be taken out to your customer before prepping 5 more orders. Yes my food was extremely cold and I will not return. Majority of it got thrown in the trash. Stop advertising curbside when you obviously cant handle it.

Food was really good! Unfortunately had some outages of some supplies and my usual was not available, but I was quickly let known I could customize to my liking. That worked really well. It was frustrating though that we were waiting for a while with our buzzer, but it never buzzed to let us know our food was ready. We went in and it had been ready for a bit.

The kid taking the orders was the absolute sweetest! He was attentive and quick.The burgers were 5 stars themselves and very very good!We sat outside, nothing was covered by shade. I asked some gentleman that were sitting outside (not under shadeif I could move their umbrella and they said no problem. So I moved it so that we would be comfortable. The manager, Lisa, came out and was EXTREMELY rude, and grabbed the umbrella angrily and spoke to either all of us, or no one in general with an extremely rude and overly angry voice that we werent allowed to move it and put it back. Which, if we were told politely it wouldnt have been any issue. For the remainder of us eating, anytime I needed to go in for a refill she would watch me very carefully.I use a cane and the floors near the soda machine were insanely slippery. To the point my cane couldnt even grip the floor which made it extremely dangerous when my cane slips from under me. Thankfully I was able to catch myself but it wasnt fixed in the duration of my visit.Would love to come back as long as Lisa isnt there! She definitely made no one feel welcome or comfortable! :(

I like these burgers, but beware ordering online. The default is ordering a meal, which I did not realize. I ended paying way more than I wanted, got a ton of extra fries and some drinks I didnt want. Just a heads up.

Not to good of an experience this time. The salad was missed, a couple of burgers were wrong and the cheese was burnt. By the time we got home our onion rings and fries were ice cold. The salad got replaced after they had to check our bags and a 25 minute wait! Not too happy this time.

In short this was my first time here, it was busy during my visit (6:30pmwhich I didnt mind because I wanted to try the meal fresh. My char burger was okay (I guess I was expecting more, I love burgersand if the fries were crispy it would have been way better (maybe ask for them well done?)The Meal: $9.00 for a single with cheese and fries -$5.00 for a free bday burger, ty btw ❤ total visit was $3.00. Id rather hit up Five Guys for this style burger or In-N-Out.Overall, the food was good, friendly staff, and very clean inside. This is just one mans opinion, you should definitely try them out for yourself. After all, that place was jamn with customers, they have to be doing something right ❤🤟😄

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE 5 STAR RATING I WOULD!!!!! I will NEVER order from here again! My partner and I are struggling with Covid right now and wanted some real burgers after eating soup for a week straight. Well when we got our food it was cold, the fries were cold, and the whole burger was soggy, (and the order was wrongit had obviously been sitting there for a while. And no, it wasn’t door dash, as our driver was waiting there for a while as well. It’s almost as if our order was completely forgotten about. My advice: skip this restaurant all together and just go to McDonald’s, at least your food will be warm! This was such a WASTE!!! Our middle fingers are up for you today Habit!!!!

I have never experienced a bad meal here. We dined inside and the employees were adhering to covid safety guidelines. The burgers are great here but I prefer the healthier garden salad with seared ahi coupled with their balsamic dressing. The balsamic tastes like they make it but Im not sure about that. Enjoy!

Love it here!!! Always HELLA busy, but so worth it. Great place to go to eat healthy and hearty. I love the superfood salad w a side of tempura green beans 😍 Staff works their butts off so be nice! 💪 If you like In N Out you will prolly like it here.

Its pretty busy on a Friday evening. I would recommend ordering ahead. The wait was 20+ minutes and you cant wait inside out of the heat. The food was okay - my husband enjoyed his brunch burger, but I wasnt very impressed with my grilled chicken sandwich. The fries are pretty good though and their milkshakes taste pretty good even though they were a bit too liquid to qualify as a shake in my opinion. Overall, it was alright.

Brought my kids here got them the kids burger and myself the veggie patty and lets just say it was good the flavor was amazing and the size was big, skip the honey mustard its dairy but the patty isnt vegan either. Overall good experience fast and clean came on a Friday place was packed but we still found some seats .

Have never been disappointed in The Habit; first had it in Santa Cruz and fell in love! Usually the tri tip is my go to but here I did the Santa Fe Burger which comes with avacado. Onion Rings are good. Tried the garlic fries, wasnt a fan, should have had cheese on it.

I love habit burgers. Comming back from SoCal over the weekend we stopped in here for a burger with My wifes Family from Germany. Great burgers and they got the order right even though some of it was ordered in German. Food was hot and came out quick. And this place was packed. Im from Stockton and love our local Habit burger but this place is great, staff very friendly. Kyana took our order and made sure we got our milkshakes brought to our table. 5 stars for this place.

I would venture to say that this is the best fast food burger in Modesto. I know I know, that’s practically blasphemy with two In N Out locations in Modesto, but these guys have an EXCELLENT burger and FAR better fries and other side options. Their menu isn’t overly elaborate but still there hasn’t been a single item that I haven’t loved! I think they are top for a quick burger centrally located in Modesto!
