The Gun in Caxito

Ive recently moved to Blackwall/Canary Wharf area and Its great to have The Gun as my local pub. I took my first visit with my family to celebrate my birthday last Saturday. Food and drinks are amazing and staff is caring and kind. The only false note have been 3 additional pints we didnt order. Theyve been added to the bill likely by mistake and I realised that the next morning but yeah see you soon The Gun ;)

Fantastic Sunday lunch and Bloody Marys, helpful staff and great views from the terrace.

Barbara and her team were fantastic - food, atmosphere & service were wonderful for our wedding reception.

Amazing. No idea what I was walking into and the service was great, the food was outstanding (I recommend the venison), and the place was great.Will come back.

Bit on the pricey (for the foodside but a hidden gem in the corner of Canary Wharf. The drinks were good, though I just stuck with beer and had the beef burger and fries. Though the menu seemed to die for and the beer garden view of the river is stunning! Great place for a date or a mate! Certainly gonna go back.

Great pub/restaurant with the most amazing views - the staff are all great with attentive/personal service - the Cote de Beouf is the best I have had anywhere and the triple cooked chips are the perfect accompaniment- looking forward to going back soon

Really cool location on the edge of the Thames overlooking the O2. Food is brilliant (particularly the steaks and burgers), with a great choice of drinks.Always a favourite when around the Docklands/Canary wharf area

Hidden gem of a Fullers pub with riverside garden and covered restaurant area overlooking the Thames. Attentive, friendly and professional staff. Good range of real ales plus extensive drinks menu. Reasonably priced lunch. Would definitely recommend

Soft lamb shank, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes with a nice crust...If you cant enjoy this, you just dont deserve it:-p

Amazing food and great service. A few mistakes in the orders but nothing that their sense of humor and great attitudes couldn’t fix.

Absolutely love this place. Authentic pub with great selection of whiskeys, wine and beer. Food is second to none. Outside area overlooking the Thames. Great place to have a relaxing night out

A cosy little gastro pub nestled in the back streets, The Gun is packed with history.The food was outstanding, showcasing a wide selection of modern Brittish.The vegetarian pie was a stand-out.

Lovely hidden gem. Wonderful views and friendly staff. Disappointing that kitchen was closed due to no chef. We will be back.

I passed this pub during a lockdown walk and this was the first time i could arrange a visit. 10 of us were here for sunday lunch and the food, staff and layout of the pub were fantastic. We will definitely be back.

Wow, who would have thought that Fullers acquisition would do so much damage! Once this pub was 1st class, now George and his pink shirt brigade have really messed it up! I invite you all to visit The Gun and join me with a negative review! Order the steak and enjoy posting a review. Remember George and the pink shirt guy.

Visited as recommended by our tour guide/driver as a place of historical interest as a tryst for lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. Nice outside area overlooking the O2 across the river. Traditional interior. Although we didnt eat there saw the dining area - quite dark but I suppose atmospheric. Just had a drink in the bar area. Nice area but small - the whole place very busy so obviously a popular place. Staff helpful and quite friendly.

Went two times during my visit in London! Very kind staff, food was amazing (sunday roast was excellentand the atmosphere next to the thames makes it very authentic! Highly recommend

Celebrated my Friends surprise 40th birthday private function in there Garden space facing the Thames.The staff were really Lovely and helpful 😊 Its a very spacious area and very clean. With your own outside Bar, or the Lovely staff came to your tables to order drink and bring them to you.We all had a great time the love, laughter and fun we all had together. It turned out to be a fantastic night and I know the Big man himself was very surprised and had the best time too. Well done to his wife for organising a special event. Look forward to going again.

An excellent gastro pub, right on the river with great views across the Thames to the O2. Good range of beer and wine and good food. Staff are really nice as well!

A M A Z I N G!!! There are some venues that just get IT and The Gun does in abundance!!! I hosted a work and family event in the same week with them and they nailed both. The staff are first class and nothing is ever a problem. They are so polite, helpful and professional to the max. If other venues could learn from anyone - this venue would be the one. On both occasions they made our space look beautiful and clean and always had enough staff to accommodate the event. As for the food - WOW! Our work event had lots of overseas guests and they couldn’t believe how yummy the food was and our family dinner was truely exceptional. I can’t thank you enough for especially making my father-in-laws 80th birthday celebration in the private rooms so special. Thomas our butler for the evening was the best and Christine / Barbara the organisers so kind, caring and so organised. You are the best The Gun - thank you!

By FAR my favourite place to eat in East / Southeast and even potentially the whole of London. The head chef is extremely talented and it shows in every bite of food. The menu changes seasonally and is true modern British. You just cant beat it I will come back time and time again. JP runs the place and is always so welcoming and hospitable, he even gave us a tour on our first visit and informed us of the history which we found so interesting. Have eaten in hundreds of restaurants in London yet the only one I seem to want to come back to repeatdley again is The Gun. A true hidden gem

The Gun serves one of the best roast dinners in London. The beef was tender and perfectly cooked, the roast potatoes were crisp and fluffy inside and the veg was perfectly done. The staff are absolutely excellent and super attentive, great service from them. It is a bit more expensive than some places but well worth it in my view.

Lovely hidden gem. We sat in the beer garden and the service was excellent. I am gluten intolerant so was really chuffed that I was able to eat here - I had the burger with a gluten free bun 👌 gluten free beer options too. The view is amazing, and the cocktails looked awesome from the other tables aswell!!

Fantastic place, great food & selection of drinks. The absolute stand out though was Abby who looked after us all, not an easy group but she was fantastic & should be singled out for praise 10/10

Fantastic location right by the riverside, with great views of O2 Arena. The staff were friendly, the decor was fab, and they have a wide selection of beers. Definitely worth visiting this place!

Best pub around canary wharf

Great riverside pub, friendly staff and amazing views. Have been here for drinks, food and Sunday lunch, all excellent with great staff and a quirky interior. There is a large terrace to the right with seats and river views although no longer bar service here you have to bring them out.

Had my wedding reception at The Gun a few weeks ago and it was amazing (Im only just recovering). The staff especially Barbara and Ivo were so friendly and attentive, it was amazing. My whole party had an excellent time and the food and cocktails were so lovely - there was not one thing that didnt taste great! I couldnt recommend dining here more. Great venue and so lovely when the sun is out.

We had a company team dinner at The Gun, where we booked The River Room to our selves. The view from the room is stunning, the atmosphere is cozy & the service is good.Their steak is really bad. It seems their meat is dry, though other team members enjoyed other dishes!

Good pub located right next to the entrance to Csnary Wharf docks. Has a great little terrace overlooking the river but when we went over half of it was booked for a private event so there wasnt much room.Good drinks selection and the staff were helpful and friendly.We went on a Tuesday evening and it was busy with a buzz about it so I would guess towards the end of the week its packed.Food looked good and I am looking forward to going back to eat there.

I am a local resident and i always always have trouble getting in and out the road because theres always deliveries going in and out the pub.on this occasion the delivery took roughly 45 min sometimes its more sometimes its less.The pub does not own the road and has no right to block the road even if it is for deliveries and the drivers dont even move when they can see you waiting.on this occasion i have recorded the full clip on my phone (45 min waitand taken pictures i will be making a complaint to the council

Great dining experience let down by regional admin for events booking.We visited the restaurant with a view to booking for a birthday event. The dining experience was very enjoyable. Lovely food, nice selection of wine. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.What was very disappointing was the response to the booking enquiry from the events manager. It was to be for a very special event. Having viewed the room and selected it l, poor response from the events manager and errors led to the room being given to another client, despite my request for it to be booked for me on 2 occasions.This was a classic regional office lack of interest and poor service, ruining a great local experience.No plans to return or to bother with other Fullers sites.

I love the Gun. 6 years into living in the UK and places like this make me love the British cuisine! It was actually my first Sunday Roast ever in the Gun and I loved it! Served beautifully with a very cosy atmosphere and good service! I recommend 👌🏻

Went to the gun for NYE , they were doing a 9 course tasting feast , 😋, we arrived really late but they were happy to accommodate the time we arrived. The food was so tasty prepared to perfection. The staff were amazing ,friendly ,attentive . Everything run smoothly ,and we were able to see fireworks🎆 very worth it .

Looks like a pub from the outside, but this is a proper restaurant in terms of dish quality and also the service. We tried the hake and the lamb dishes, and both were really great.If youre in the mood, also try their dessert wines.

The onion soup is amazing! The food in general, is very good. Staff is very friendly and the place itself is quite nice.

A great and historic venue for a nice ale and a strong gin! Short notice booking of 8 people was no bother. Sat with a river view and the menu was plentiful. Great quality, sirloin steaks were sizeable and well cooked.Poor reviews are either snarky competition or overly fussy fusspots. Nothing wrong here. Look at the river view, a true dining view.

Excellent service from all staff, very friendly atmosphere lovely glowing fire on a cold day . The food was excellent and had a lovely table looking over the Thames. A special thanks to JP and see you soon.

Has some of the nicest views of Thames river.Beautiful pub on a mews style road in Canary Wharf area. Lovely cozy interior inside. Has large terrace overlooking the river.Service was good and efficient. We had Sunday roast and Butternut squash, mushroom, spinach & feta Wellington with mushrooms on the side.Worth visiting once for an evening drink or a Sunday roast. Recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment!

Ive been here a few times, bur this time for a corporate event - the service was fantastic - the waiters / waitresses were happy to take drinks orders and put up with the din of 30+ people talking loudly.The food was also delicious I had a steak (medium rareand it was cooked perfectly, plus there were 3 (three!types of potatoes.My colleague had a vegetarian pea salad thing that looked delicious (large portion).I didn’t really need the sticky toffee pudding but managed to find space….The walk back to Canary Wharf tube station was very surreal, 4 years ago it seemed to take forever, but I trusted Google maps and it took me in a straight line (past some sort of Amazon Supermarket (?))…

Fantastic experience. Food was good, service was phenomenal. The view from the outside patio was to die for - photo attached. I think the garden was closed which was a slight bummer but not an issue. A bit pricey, but you’re paying a premium to be on the River.

The best restaurant in London, very friendly staff. The managers both on Saturday night and during the week are fantastic. My cousin had the best bridal shower. Thank you soo much

A brief visit for a coffee. Fantastic location and very helpful and friendly staff. I was shown around the upstairs Nelson/Hamilton room too when I expressed an interest in taking pictures of the bar area.

Nice to go to a pub that has proper food and great service. Many so called gastro pubs are let down by serving convenience food, such as frozen chips, but here you can get the real thing. The sticky toffee pudding is the best ever!

We love the food, river views and service at the Gun. History is interesting as well, with the Lord Nelson tie in. But the Kitchen and food is what we really appreciate! We have been 6+ times in the last year and it never disappoints, really good food. The menus do change with the season, with daily specials which are very nice. The Starter of Asparagus was really lovely as well as the steak Tartare. We shared the main of Duck for two and it was sublime, really well prepared with some very nice variation.Posted several photos, the Sunday roasts are excellent.

Lovely pub right on the water edge with great view of the 02. Staff friendly, service was good. Food mediocre especially for the price, would visit again on hot day if we were guaranteed seating outside.
