The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure - Amusement park ride in Bletchley, United Kingdom
The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure in Bletchley
Description
Privilege
Loved this ride, great change up from professor bubble works
Brilliant for parents and young children.
One of my all time favourite rides. The Q goes down constantly due to the never ending cycle of the ride boats which is good. The story is great and so is this rides interpretation. Just beware that you can get a little wet depending on how your other passingers put their hands in the water tunnels 😁. For those with youner kids or those that love the story its deffinately a must do ride at chessington.
MoreLoved it so much we finally got the photo for it!
Great ride at Chessington. If you love the gruffalo story this is a great ride
this ride changed my life forever
So cute and lots of fun. My little one never wanted to get off... She also grabbed the fountains... You will get wet
MoreI would recommend this for anyone who doesn’t mind getting WET!
Nice little dark ride, tells the story of the book. You may get a little damp
Showing its age now, many of the voice overs are hard to hear, especially for children, and start before your boat has arrived.
MoreExcitement 4/10Thrills 2/10Theming 8/10Wetness 5/10 (if you put your hand over the sprinklers you get soaked 😂)Overall 6/10Good ride for kids but also nice and relaxing for people who want a break from the thrills but also get a bit wet.
MoreWonderful placeGreat walk through the woods
Great kids ride at Chessington. You take a River boat experience while it goes through the Gruffalo story using display and clever lighting. Nice break from the coasters as long as the queue is sub 30 mins.
MoreBest indoor attraction in the UK, apart from HEX at Alton Towers. Its a brilliant ride overall. I like how it is pretty long compared to the majority of indoor attractions.
MoreLOVED IT - went round againwell put together, sights and sounds - cant praise enough, if you love the Gruffalo then its a must - we also stayed in the gruffalo room at the hotel, cant see how people critisie the wait time - its on digital screens at the entrance to the ride, so its your decision to wait or not - the ride its self is faultless
MoreGreat family fun, especially if your kids are fans of the book
Had to queue with young grandchildren for 45 minutes. The ride itself probably only lasted a couple of minutes. Usual revolving rubber ring, bouncing off the sides meant that often the thing you wanted to see was behind you. But have to say that younger kids will love it. 😂
MoreA retheming of the Imperial Leather Bubbleworks ride based around the childrens book The Gruffalo. The rides layout is the same as the original ride but now tells the story of The Gruffalo with animatronics of the characters. A nice calming ride.
MoreIm normally more into the fast roller coasters but my son wanted to go on this rideand I fairly enjoyed it myself to be honestVery good displays and models
MoreVisually fantastic and a great ride for young ones. The audio is terrible and mostly unintelligible throughout the experience. I think they are reading the story, but it is so bad even our children who know the story were distracted by it.
MoreAmazing.. Suitable for everyone even babiesStrong smells so not ideal for extreme sensory. Although both my boys have special needs and 1 did say he didnt like it however he did still manage to enjoy it so all good
MoreMy 3 year loves the gruffalo ride! 😁
A fairly pleasant smooth journey with a little toddler. Little one was scared when the mini waterfalls rained down on us through yje ride on the two occasions that it does. Other than that, I would say that in comparison to the waiting time to get on the ride, they need to incorporate a lot more interaction from the characters and increase the volume as you cant hear much over the sound of the water all the way through. If you have a little one who can handle the wait time then give it a go of theyre a Grufallo fan.
MoreNice little water ride through the story. You may get a damp back/bum as the little water shoots you go under can wet passengers but very slightly!! Really nicely presented ride for all ages who love the story!
MoreMy little one loves the gruffalo and really wnjoyed the ride. The cinematic parts the colours and visuals are really entertaining. She loved every second going round. The water going over your head at the end was a nice touch and she was fascinated by this
MoreGreat family ride for all ages. Well thought out. Even when you are in the queue there are things to look at to occupy young children. The actual ride was fantastic. We loved it.
MoreA really lovely ride for the little ones, very gentle. You do get a little damp but nothing major. It is also quite loud and dark but my children both enjoyed it.
MoreReally good ride for the kids/Gruffalo fans.Nice and slow, easy going, slightly wet ride very enjoyable for your little ones. Our five year old loves it and makes a B line for it whenever we go to CWoA.Photos whilst on the ride are available as are some really nice toys in the shop but as per all Merlin parks they are exceptionally expencive, which is a real shame. If they brought the price down they would sell a lot more.
MoreLove the new ride, the Gruffalo theme works brilliantly using the old Bubble Factory set up.
MoreEven as an adult, I found this ride fun. Really liked the fact it followed the story. A great place to take a school or the little ones! If youre not into the more energetic rides, this is for you!
More5 stars, amazing adventure for young and old, really recomnend it :)
The ride is ok but bubbleworks was way way way better it doesn’t have a lovely smell anymore it smells like a dump it’s not as colourful and exiting as it used to be they should of kept bubbleworks for at least another 27 years! But it’s gone now or they could of made someChanges to bubbleworks what they did 2 times but oh well ;(
MoreVery well done, felt a lot like a Disney ride. Covered some of the key parts of the story. The kids loved it.Sadly, the ride was constricted by the size of the building, it is essentially just a renovated version of the old bubbleworks ride. This meant there was a lack of space/ length to really do the story justice.Would have been 5 stars if the whole story had been covered, or if Gruffalos Child had been included. However, what was there was excellent, definitely a must for young families visiting the park.
MoreGreat for younger children, just be aware you will get a little wet and have to get out of the ride while its moving although it is slow. Advice need more than 1 adult if your taking kids in to help with this.
MoreMy kids love this ride. I kinda miss the Bubbleworks, but this is a great idea for a revamp. Whenever we go to Chessington, we always go on this ride. Its basically an indoor river ride, but has no height restriction on it, so anyone can go on, which is great. As a ride its squarely aimed at younger kids, but also great for the young at heart!
MoreWeve been on this a number of times last year and now this year. Whilst my kids are getting older, the way the story is done through the mini water rapids ride is excellent. You watch them notice new things every time they go round as well. One of the best rides for families at Chessington.
MoreOk, Ive been on this ride in a few variations so its still the same ride in its base but the new theme is modern and popular with kids and they have smells as you pass through now. If its a hot day, go there first cos it is popular.
MoreMy granddaughter who is 2 enjoyed this ride, I personally think it was better as the bubble works, would not be work a long queue time, thankfully our queue time was 10 mins today
MoreFantastic ride, great scenes throughout. Our two young boys loved it. Did get slightly damp due to splashing, this helped the enjoyment! Well recommended.
MoreAlthough price entry is a little high this amusement park was built more for little ones which is great. Lots of lovely little rides for under 3s and more adventurous ones for 7 -13. And of course adults like these rides too. Food is a little on the high side but the portion sizes are good. They have a little arcade, sweet and gift shops, as well as loads of buggy parks seating areas for your lunch you can even use there buddys they provide for your children if you didnt bring your own. I only ever go to this amusement park on a 2 for 1 voucher as I cant really justify £50 for an adult and under 3. But this is a great place to visit.
MoreOur 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was mesmerised by it, even after 3 goes.
Nice gentle ride on water for 4 yr olds plus. It is fairly dark in parts which little ones might find scary. Realistic character models and animation makes you really feel like you really are in the deep dark wood!
MoreWent on with my 8 year old. We both loved it! Great ride for the kiddies, doesnt go too fast, and we all love the gruffalo dont we?!
MoreIts basically the old bubbleworks ride cleaned up with the Gruffalo. Its very nicely done. Suitable for little kids but my fourteen year olds quite enjoyed it although I bet they wont tell their friends.I did miss the bubbles. I know theyre not in the story but a bubble machine on the final.section would make it even better. Went mid week on an inset day and only queued for 5 minutes.
MoreI think we must have gone on this ride 20± times! The kiddos loved it. So much so when we got home our daughter was able to read the book to herself from what she remembered from the ride.
MoreBrilliant ride, tells the story of the Gruffalo with sights, sounds and smells. My 4 year old loved it and his face was a picture! His mind was blown away and he loved it so much we had to go on it again :staff were really friendly and helpful too. My only thing was that it was a little quick to take it all in! Really good.
Moregreat ride but very very expensive as it was a 60minute queue we paid an extra £24 for a family of four to use the fast track... highly recommended but very expensive as that was a one use only fast track ticket
MoreThis ride is just wonderful. I was skeptical when I first heard they were getting rid of bubblrworks as I loved that ride! However, the Gruffalo is just so good! The theming is outstanding, the best of all rides currently at Chessington. The music, atmosphere & special effects are so good - its truly an incredible ride that I highly recommend!
MoreA tame little indoor river ride themed around the Gruffalo. Its nice, but not really thrill seeking. You almost certainly wont get wet unless you touch the sprayers.
MoreGreat ride. Its great to see this ride back to its former glory with lots of jet fountains and different smells all the way around the ride. The ride last year when it was still the bubble factory was looking very sad! The Gruffalo ride is great though!
