The Green Valley Inn in Belmopan

If youre considering staying at this property, DO IT! You will not regret it. Peter and his wife, Marcella, are wonderful hosts. The location of their property is incredibly convenient to ATM cave, Barton Creek, Caracol, and many other attractions. The hospitality is beyond amazing - Marcella cooks a wholesome breakfast with fresh fruit from their property and can even cook dinner for an extra small charge.Each cabana is thoughtfully decorated with the utmost attention to detail. We stayed in the apartment which is suitable for a family. It had a double bed with a bunk bed. There’s an outdoor shower with warm water, fully equipped kitchen, and is right across the swimming pool. It is also right next to Peter’s house which is where the communal kitchen is located. We went there for breakfast and dinner. They have 3 very friendly dogs - Girl, Sol, and Miss.Peter made our trip extremely easy. For a set price of $350 USD per person, he covered all transfers to/from the airport, water taxi terminal, and attractions as well as all of the tours we went on including ATM cave, Xunantunich mayan ruins, and canoeing at Barton Creek Cave. Peter worked with my group to create a trip that met all of our interests. He’s lived in Belize for over 13 years and has a ton of knowledge about the history and people. I learned so much from him during our car rides.Our stay at the Green Valley Inn went above expectations. If I were to come back to Belize, I would stay here again.

Simple and pleasant. Marcela is a gracious host. Very clean. The meals she and her staff prepare are a blend of Central and south American dishes. It is centrally located to the major towns in the area. A hidden gem a little off the beaten path....

We absolutely loved our stay. The property is absolutely beautiful with a lovely pool, hammocks to lounge in, and lush greens. The treehouse was so fun to stay in and the outdoor shower is great. The best part was Marcela and Eva’s hospitality. Marcela was able to book an amazing ATM trip for us, help arrange transfers and gave great travel tips. The food was so yummy! We loved our breakfast and dinners. Don’t skip the pina coladas…. they are the best we’ve ever had! We didn’t have a car and had no problem taking the bus into San Ignacio. The best place!

Marcella is amazing and Green Valley in is a place of tranquility and healing. It is a good place to get some rest and be blessed. The food is awesome and the hosts are lovely and very accommodating and staff is nice.

Great place I couldnt recommend it more I am friends with her on Instagram now. The owner is a great host and makes a good breakfast! Pretty easy to get to town from the location its pretty central. My wife and I are most likely going to back next month for a day or two.

A short drive down a rocky driveway brings you to a wonderfully quiet Inn. Marcella and Eva are great hosts that do what it takes to make your stay the best it can be. Quiet rooms or choose a treehouse to catch the breeze.

Amazing place

If I could give this jewel of a find a 10 that would not be enough. Incredible jungle cabanas and tree houses in a lush jungle setting.Marcela and Eva are so gracious. Eva is the amazing and talented chef and Marcela the fantastic host.She keeps her property so clean and perfect.Food was impeccable and the atmosphere was magical.She offers breakfast and dinner as well as a few alcohol choices.Glorious outdoor shower under the stars.Hammocks to relax in while savoring the sounds of the jungle.Close to san ignacio without the crowds.Perfect launch spot for traveling the pine ridge area and all this area has to offer.We had some issues with our airline and part of our crew was delayed 24 hours, Marcela helped us through this tough issue.Excellent property for families with children of all ages.If you decide Belize is your next adventure do not miss Green Valley Inn.

Couldn’t recommend this place more!!! Marcela and her wonderful staff were so accommodating. The food was amazing, and the mojitos were out of this world. We loved our little cabin and we can’t wait to come back and stay longer the next time.

We loved our 5 night stay at Marcelas! My husband and I are pretty adventurous and low key travelers and found it exactly to our taste. The bungalows are very comfortable and cute (and a great bargainand the grounds are just beautiful. Not a "luxury" resort but so cozy and comfortable much in part to Marcelas hospitality (and her trio of adorable dogs). She is a warm and interesting host (without being overbearingand was so helpful in booking our adventures (ATM and Caracol). And frankly we ended up enjoying breakfast and dinner each night onsite as Evas cooking vastly exceeded our experience at the Guava Limb, a highly rated restaurant in San Ignacio. The location cant be beat as far as convenience goes, particularly if you have a rental car. Off the highway enough to feel tranquil, but no long stretches of dicey road to navigate. Very quick drive to San Ignacio and sites that are accessible without a tour guide (in case, horseback riding to Barton Creek with Mountain Equestrian Trails, Xunantunich, and the Botanical Gardens). You wont regret staying here!

We stayed in Green Valley Inn for 3 nights in the treehouse. We have been traveling for more than 3 months already and we can truly say that the host (Marcelaand her helper (Evaare the nicest and most helpful people we’ve met on our trip.Before arrival she sent us clear instructions on how to get there and offered to pick us up from the main road (we were dropped off there by a shuttle).The cabins and tree huts are located in a beautiful garden that has been taken good care off. Also the cabins are very decent build and maintained very well.Marcela offers breakfast, lunch and diner for a very fair price. She and Eva make it on a time you please. Breakfast changes everyday and was always very tasty; also with a lot of fresh fruits. Diner has also different tasty options; also for vegans or vegetarians.We have noticed that Marcela and Eva want to give their guests the best time while staying. We can say she did. We loved the hospitality and kindness. She can also help with arranging tours and took us to some cities while she did groceries and stuff there.Overal we had a very good time and can really recommend this place to anyone! 5/5

I was initially a bit worried about booking at the Green Valley Inn, due to the unbeatable price point and being away from population areas. Our stay here was amazing and four nights was not enough!Marcela is a gracious host and she and Eva are fabulous cooks. Marcela is also a travel agent and she made all the arrangements for us to go to ATM and Caracol, and helped us plan a day at the market in San Ignacio and Xunantunich, with great recommendations on where to go and eat.My wife and I stayed in the tree house cabaña and it was clean, adorable, had parrots on top of it, great AC, a perfectly stocked minibar for us and had amazing views of the property and surrounding area.We felt ahead of the folks who started on the coast and then drove a couple hours inland to see what was relatively close by to us.Were already planning on going back to Belize with our kids, and we look forward to staying at the Green Valley Inn again!

Great place to stay near San Ignacio. The cabins were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the bunk bed. Marcela is an excellent host and Ava is awesome. My family have been to Belize several times and we must say that this is our favorite.

Love the place very clean, owner always there to ensure you have everything you want. Make breakfast at the time we wanted. The site is amazing. The food is great. Cant wait to come back.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. AWESOME and so so RELAXING. Dont leave Belize without staying here. It is situated about 1 quarter mile in woods. The grounds are so peaceful and amazingly serene. I loved my treehouse and its quaintness. It was lovely to sit out on my tiny porch at night and listen to all the different bird sounds. I slept very well in the comfortable double bed and late at night I could here the howler monkeys. The pool was a nice surprise. The weather was also a nice mixture if clouds, sun, and a bit of rain. This place is situated about 20 miles from the city of San Ignacio. Each time I had to go into town I was taken by one of the workers there without hesitation. Joel and Ava were the 2 young workers there and they were so helpful and friendly. Now to get to the heart of the Inn, Marsela the owner. She is from Chile and has owned this Inn for 5 years. What can I say but I now have a new and dear friend to visit the next time I go to Belize. Sweet and awesome, friendly and kind, gracious and comfortable. She and Ava cooked my breakfast and dinner each day and it was complete and delicious. It truly was like a family staying there. I was not able to take advantage of the tours however she was there for me if I wanted them.In the evenings I would sit with them and either talk or play cards along with a nice glass of Merlot. Thankyou a thousand times Marsela, Ava, and Joel for an awesome stay there. One of my best stays ever. See you next time. By the way, Thanks to Anna for driving me there.

Beautiful setting and wonderful service from the owner and staff. Close enough to everywhere you want to go but far enough away that its quiet and peaceful. Food was great too. We will definitely come back as soon as we can.

Amazing spot to stay in western Belize. Perfectly located near most of the Mayan attractions. The owner is super nice, and adds a personal touch to getting to and from the daily tours. In addition, she will prepare all your meals morning and evening if you are not planning to go out. We stayed in a real tree house, complete with its own full bathroom and bedroom. Marcela is a fantastic hostess and she will pick you up and drop you off at the airport if you arrange it in advance. I recommend you book directly with her through the website and pay pal, it saves you and her a little off those booking sites.

Green Valley and our hostess is a beautiful gem hidden in the perfect location. It is located close to all of the great tours like ATM cave, Caracol, Tikal, Barton Creek and the like. The rooms are immaculate, comfortable, air conditioned and beautifully built. Our hostess, Marcella, booked the tours we were interested in for us and had everything set up prior to our arrival. She made us amazing meals and we dined in a communal, intimate setting with some of the other guests, all of which was perfect. She shared stories of her home in Chile and the local goings on. At Green Valley Inn, we met other travelers from a variety of countries and shared beautiful stories from our respective countries. Of all of the places we have stayed, I was truly sad to leave her home. Green Valley Inn and Marcella (along with her dogs Miss and Girlare the definition of a diamond in the rough. You would be remissed to pass up on her accommodations...and her Chilean wine.

Marcelas place is AMAZING. It is located close to ATM Cave and other attractions are easily accessible from here as well since it is within 20 minutes drive of San Ignacio. Marcela booked our tours for us before we arrived. Our cabin was immaculate and was the perfect little haven for us at the end of a long day. We slept so well here. Marcela cooked us amazing meals every day and we were able to dine and socialize with other guests. She took great care of us and we would love to stay here again!

amazing and beautiful. the pictures do not do it justice. very peaceful and safe. Miss Marcella is such a sweetheart and helped with anything we needed including our tours. Very reasonably priced and by no means your average hotel. reasonably close to major attractions and there is a small store walking distance 10/10 would recommend

We struck gold finding Peter and Marcela, who offered us adventure and comfort at their beautiful property.The treehouse itself is so cool - exceptionally clean, with great amenities and a very comfy bed! Waking up to the sounds of the jungle was very special. We also used the pool and hammock area, which was an added bonus and another place to relax.We also ate breakfast and dinner here, and are very grateful to Marcela for preparing us such yummy food - we felt more like friends or family than guests.The tours Peter offers are so exciting and great value - the guides we had taught us so much, and we even decided to stay an extra night to squeeze in more fun! Peter was fantastic at communicating with us, and helped us before, during and after our stay.We left The Green Valley Inn with fantastic memories and recommendations, and would love to go back one day!

Im Greenpeace Vally Inn bei Peter und Marcela fühlt man sich willkommen und ist gut aufgehoben. Schöne angelegte, sehr saubere Anlage mit allem Komfort. Sehr gutes Frühstück, individuell nach deinem Geschmack zusammengestellt und täglich verändert. Für dan Lunch muss man nicht lange suchen, Marcela kocht ausgezeichnet. Organisieren deine Touren selber oder noch besser lass es dir von Peter organisieren. Perfekte Routenwahl, gut organisiert mit lokalen Guides. Alle sehr pünktlich und informativ. Hier wir der Aufenthalt in Belize zum Genuss, Adventure, Weiterbildung oder einfach nur zum relaxen.
