Had a bar meal as was too early for the bistro. The meal was the same as served in the bistro and I think the same price as was expensive for a bar meal. Is $25 for the roast of the day too much? It was a decent serve and tasty so no complaints. Had to wait 30 minutes for our meal and it was not busy as the bistro was not populated when we ordered.

Very basic. Disappointing that they dont have seniors meals on a weekend

we had a wonderful experience in the top room where we attended a 40th birthday party. definitely recommended. however I was on 2 walking sticks and had to get up 2 flights of stairs , having a lift wouldve been amazing especially for wheelchair bound people.

Great location and place with service. Upper section for events is also quite good.

Roast pork had no flavour tasted like it has been boiled and worst of all we were there at the start of lunch on a Sunday and there was no crackling with the pork!

I was in the upstairs function room for an event. It was very spacious with comfy seating and a decent dance floor. The staff were very lovely.

Excellent service been there many times over decades.

No wonder the bistro was empty at 1pm on a sunday.Hubbys steak sanga was 50% meat 50% gristle.My salt and pepper calamari was over done.Shouldve gone to cheeky squire.

Had a,lovely seniors meal here a couple of months ago. Drive an hour today for lunch to find out you are only allowed to have a seniors meal Mon to Friday, had no idea, could they have not allowed us a seniors today seeing as we came so far then we would know. No staff on but I am sympathetic of that. Could not afford standard prices. Cutting off there noses to spite there faces, wont be back. They have lost our business today & what they would have made at the bar. You have to wonder about these head office clowns who make these decisions. No one in the place, I wonder why! 🤔👎👎👎

Still waiting for our meals after waiting 59 mins. Not hope of getting them anytime soon either apparently. Wont be coming back.

The greeter at the door was the best part of the experience.Food took 40mins to come out from time of order. No cutlery supplied and had wait and ask for it. With only 8 tables.Steak while well cooked and nicely done was only slightly warm. (Tasted really nice would have been a treat if served hot.)Also the frozen chip on the plate was not appreciated.Sadly not the greatest experience.Overall just could have been a better experience.

Went for dinner and had the roast of the day, it was lamb, the lamb was sooo good, vegies cooked just right and I loved our waitress Maddy, she was amazing and sooo friendly, I will definitely go back there again and often, infact all the staff here were very nice and extremely helpful. The food is great from here except its not that cheap. I love the pumpkin feta arancini, the salt & pepper calamari, side salad & the sweet potato chips but its 10$ for 3 arancini balls or a thing of sweet potatoe chips so it adds up.They do uber & are open every day from 12 so its very convenient.Ive only ever ordered takeaway during lockdown so not sure what it is like to eat in but I would like to try it. Recomend.

I would be happy to give this place a 5 star rating IF for once when I went there they had Almond Milk!!I attend this venue regularly and They NEVER have Almond Milk!! It’s actually got to the stage where today I had to BRING MY OWN milk!!I would never have usually done this and just gone elsewhere, so lucky I like other things enough in this venue to come back because I think it’s Bad customer service not supplying appropriate milk🤦‍♀️ Especially when so many people have food intolerances now days.

Went last night for tea not many people in but waited 50mins for food soup of the day and roast of the day. So had a refund and went home. Not a good night will not go back till they review system

I have eaten here many times including the Christmas menu they usually put out every December and it’s always superb.I have never had a bad meal here in fact l would rate the food better than most places in the area.The atmosphere is very average as the place doesn’t seem popular and the bistro is often empty. I don’t really mind as the staff are attentive and the meals are fast.

Lovely evening engagement party up stairs food very good as a visitor from the UK very friendly staff. Played the pokies until the power went down again staff helpful. Matthew very good member of your team.

Great venue.Service was excellent.Couldnt fault it from a patrons point of view.Only issue is it doesnt cater for invalid people. I had to walk stairs in crutches, how would wheel chair people get upstairs?

Lovely place to dine. My sisters and I had a lovely lunch here just before Christmas. The decor has really improved over the years.

I received a sms from the Grand hotel a few weeks ago saying the Dragon link grand jackpot was over 22 thousand, then with my friends, we went to the pokies room, and a woman named Cat was serving coffee around, instead of the other customers refused to take her coffee, she didnt let me to take a coffee from her!! We have been there regular for near five years already, I know she recognized us, she just didnt want to give me the coffee. Who am I there?? A BEGGAR??!! Her excuse was I just walked in and she still serving the coffee around...so if that is the coffee policy of the Grand hotel they should give a number to the customers when they walked in and serve the coffee by their number then!? I have been there many times and have been seeing Cat the rude woman many times and she is always cold and no smile, what did I do to her?? Nothing!! Maybe the only explanation she is doing this because I am an Asian?? I dont need you to like me, just do your job as a well trained staff, and, Cat,I dont like you neither! You get paid by the Grand hotel and just do your job normally, dont bring your own sh*t to the hotel and serve it to the customers who you judged by their looks or their race!! We cant be bother go back there anymore if she is still there!!

My partner and I had our engagement party at the Grands function room. The space was nice and large with space to dance and to sit, and easily fit a photobooth we hired.The staff were lovely and accommodatingThe food was complimented by all!And overall it was a fun night had by all!Thankyou Grand staff for the amazing and memorable night! 💕

Friday myself and 2 of my mates where refused entry for the simple fact of the way we looked. The security tried to say he saw us walk across the road and based on crossing a road he managed to see 3 guys from inside a building. My friend was completely sober and also refused. He stood there and smiled the whole time and we all became very aggressive as he literally made that up.Just because security has a name badge they cant make up stories just to refuse people entry. As Im a local Ive spent thousands and thousands of dollars there, pokies, bday dinners and a night out..The security who was actually outside even said thats rubbish!Was an absolute joke considering how early is was on a Friday! Frankston security at its finest! 👎

Had a friends 21st there recently and was thoroughly unimpressed with the security, I got there about 9:30 I Had my ID out for the bouncer, got asked how many drinks I had that night and I said six, which was accurate, I was then told to wait half an hour, which I did (by myselfwhilst he watched me sit for half an hour then I came back up to the door an the security guard implied I had taken some sort of drug.this is not the only time I’ve heard of issues with the bouncers there. There’s better venues to hire out with less security issues

My cousin got married and decided to have his wedding venue at the grand. It was a rainy day and we were soaked and came through with the signs from the wedding. Drenched and really looking forward to warming up with the family here at the reception, we came in the entrance to be stopped at the door, and asked for ID. I showed my NZ drivers licence to then be told they don’t accept it and will only take our passport which is over a hour away where we were staying. By this point we got the manager involved who we thought would help but instead gave no comfort at all and told us all where to go. I found the two security guards and manager quite racist and rude. I eventually took the signs up before the bride and groom came through although they were telling me not to go up the stairs and to my dismay, there were children and teenagers already up there! And to think they were holding us down the bottom until we had valid ID. They also stopped the bridesmaid and the bride. Do not recommend for weddings. The highlight was the bar tender that night!

What a rip off. It clearly says on a gigantic sign 2 FOR 1 meals, then when youve all arrived and get the menu there is a tiny note at the bottom that says you need a coupon. I suggested this Hotel to take all my family and friends because they cant afford todays prices and it ruined the whole birthday party. Will never go back

Thank you for your excellent service for my husbands 30th birthday party, the food was quick and tasty. Wonderful venue with pool tables and dj area/dance floor, would recommend for future events.

After a long drive we called into the grand for lunch but decided to b find the bathroom first. As I was washing my hands a staff member came in and asked my 19 year old daughter for ID. Whilst I dont have a problem about asking for ID, as we both work in the industry, but being asked as youre coming out of the toilet - unbelievable. Didnt have lunch and will never go back and will spread the word to everyone that comes to frankston. Avoid avoid avoid. 😠

Weird service, unfortunate desserts that are not cooked properly and uneatable. Shame the manager did not ask if we wanted a different dessert, just said he would tell the kitchen...If they didnt have buy on get one free , this place would be completely empty on a Sunday. Sad!

Went to the Grand hotel with my partner last saturday nite. The main meals were great and we decided to have desert. My partner ordered 2 passion fruit tarts. The desert board showed them at $4. The manager put the order in the till and said that it was $18. My partner pointed out that the board said $4 . The manager said"no way they are. They are $9 each. If the board says $4 someone has changed it. He refused to honour the price on the board and asked the waitress to go and change the price on the board immediately . We left and we were very dissapointed at the rudness and lack of customer service given by the manager. We bought dessert elsewhere and decided that our regular patronage at the grand has come to an end.

Lovely service staff and pretty good food. Nothing fancy, but good pub grub and you gotta love their 2 for 1 deal. My flat head tails were really nice but the chips were heavy. My partners green curry seafood stir fry was delicious and very generous.Certainly worth a try and amazing value.

The worst Xmas lunch at The Grand Hotel Frankston. The family has been to The Grand for Xmas lunch for almost every year due to the quality & service & the value of the money. But 2015 was the worst experience ever! Waited 1/2 hour to get to the foods for 1st round. And wanted to get 2nd round I had to wait another 1/2 hour before reaching the foods, then found out no more oysters left, no more roasted pork left, no more crumbed prawns left, roasted potatoes were raw, ....... No fruits available, no ice cream for the kids....... . 2 and half hours lunch . Family left with great deal of disappointment and still hungry! The restaurant either over booked or short of supplier! End of day , people have to find place to put their dirty plates. As no staffs were there ! No more Xmas lunch at The Grand!
