My nine-year-old daughter and I had a lovely time having tea there. They are remodeling it so Im not sure what itll look like in the next couple of months. The only reason it doesnt get five stars is the food was not at all interesting or impressive. I think they could do better on the food. Otherwise it was a wonderful ambiance.

The service was amazing, Jorge took care of us with his great knowledge of the teas and didnt make any awkward conversation. The tea was delicious, they often came around the fill the teapot when low. We all got a glass of Dom Perignon, made the experience so much more fun. The desserts were amazing. The sandwiches were good if eaten quickly. The bread dried up pretty quickly and harden.Would definitely come back for the tea experience.

We went to holiday tea here and it was amazing. The food was delicious and the staff was kind and helpful. Our waiter asked us if we had any allergies, and I told him I was lactose intolerant, he gave me an entire dairy/lactose free plate! The building was absolutely gorgeous and it reminded me of being in an old mansion. Since it was the holidays there was a giant Christmas tree and gingerbread village. Will definitely come back next year.

I organized an afternoon tea with some friends. The teas were good and there was a large selection. The food was also good and plenty for a meal. If youve never done an afternoon tea before, this is a good one to try out. Theres an option to add champagne to your tea service as well for additional cost. It was $55 per person for the tea service, $85pp for champagne added. Atmosphere is great. I would have given the Afternoon Tea here 5 stars except for the way our server treated us at the end of the tea service. He berated us for not understanding that they dont take multiple cards for parties of 6 or larger and didnt even bother bringing the checks back to us after we paid (he had someone else do it). They accommodated us anyway, but it left a bad taste in our mouth considering he received an automatic 20% gratuity regardless. For an establishment that prides itself on service, this was not the way he should have acted.

I cant even begin to express how much 8 enjoyed coming here for afternoon tea. Staff was fantastic, food was amazing and the ambience was breath taking. Also if your gluten free, this afternoon tea will not disappoint like so many other places do. This far exceeds my experience at the Fairmont in Vancouver BC. I definitely plan on returning and bringing friends.

This is for high tea.$55 a person for subpar food and limited tea selection. The panacotta started off great, but then the food went mostly downhill—all the diff breads were so dry and stale. Desserts too sweet. It seems like they premake the tiers and stick them in the fridge to serve. 2 stars for atmosphere and staff/service. But the price point for what we received is sorely disappointing.

My family and I went to have afternoon tea here. While there was no valet parking, the price was still reasonable, for Seattle. Now if you come here for the food, you might be disappointed, at least I was. The food did it have anything special and to be honest I’d rather go to McDonald’s than here. The atmosphere however was astounding. The employees are all very very nice. It’s really the employees and atmosphere that get 3 stars, not the food. Daniel is a great guy!

Pro: elegant environment, decent service.Con: very small portion on food, long wait on food arrival. Party of two only gets one afternoon tea stand which could barely fill me. Top tier desserts are ultra sweet. I saw some eaters left some desserts completely untouched probably due to that reason.

Not a place for the LGBTQ community. I took my wife here for anniversary tea - thought it might be nice to experience something different. While the food was...eh... okay... Im not sure why they called to confirm reservations and ask if we were celebrating anything special. I told they we were indeed celebrating our anniversary. They asked if wed like champagne and I decided that would be nice. The gentleman who I spoke with on the phone was very nice. He said there would be a special treat and champagne waiting at the table. Cool; I thought. When we arrived, there was nothing special. The waiter was perfectly pleasant, but I could tell he was just playing his part. Friendly, but not necessarily happy to be waiting on a queer couple. I wondered if there were any special notes at all that were conveyed to him. I was going to say something, but then after he did indeed get the note about our dietary restrictions, I decided to just keep quiet because being ignored as a queer person is something Im used to. Whatever. BUT... at the end of our tea and lunch meal, he presented our check along with a plate of strawberries covered in chocolate. Gosh, super nice to receive this nice celebratory plate along with the check. Felt like he wanted us to eat the damn strawberries and get the hell out. Which is what we did. Too bad, really. When we looked around at the other tables our server was handling, he was explaining all the items on the plate, and paying great attention to other patrons. We had to eat our dessert on the same plates that our savory sandwiches came on... for shame... not cool.As for other things to note about The Georgian -- the architecture of the building is amazing and a must see. It could be a real special place and I would be happy to pay premium prices for a tea snack champagne lunch, but they do need some renos and think about taking more care of the chairs, etc. to have such a high price point. One more thing to note: this is not a disabled friendly place either. Im not sure how anyone in a wheel chair would be able to eat here. My wife has a permanent knee injury and had to go through a maze of kitchen and crud just to get to the dining room. Cmon.

One of only three AAA 4-Diamond restaurants in Seattle. We had their holiday afternoon tea for $75/person. At that price I expected something a little more special. The location in the Fairmont Olympic hotel was indeed fantastic. But the food didnt really suit us. Found the bread a bit dry, cucumber sandwich under-seasoned, and red velvet overly sweet. We had their Orange Pekoe house tea and Creamy Early Grey. Both were tasty.

Went for afternoon tea, having been a fan back in England. Tea selection was good, dietary requirements shared ahead of time were not shared with server upon arrival, so had to re-share. Room was nice and table good. When the tea came it was good. Next came a martini glass with fruit on it - never heard of that before, and awkward to eat.Sandwiches were next - interesting flavors but at that price expected either Roast Beef or Smoked Salmon - both staples. The scones were disappointing - they barely rose. Probably best to get the chef to watch some British baking shows to learn how to make scones. Equally the Devonshire cream provided was a tiny portion and not clotted cream - the usual. Jam was very good. Finally the pastries came and were good, with the exception of the macron, which could have done with a jam in the middle - was a bit tasteless. All in all it was good, but with the parking price and for a trip into town, will be making it myself next time.

This place is the most old school breakfast in Seattle. Deferential staff. Better than average everything. Lots of people have the buffet. I cant understand this choice. They have a good and varied menu. Anyway, this place is the closest most of us will ever get to having a butler bring us breakfast. Just be polite and pretend you know what you are doing.

They didnt serve scone with Clotted cream, so I asked " can I have some Clotted cream?" The waiter said, " what is Clotted cream?" I couldnt believe it. He is working at a tea house and doesnt know what Clotted cream is. They say they are going to give British style tea, but their demeanor was very American. British people dont carry cups like that. Waitresses were currying cups like a girl working at a beer hall. I was so shocked. In Britain, they dont charge when guest wants to try another flavored tea. However at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle, they charge 7 dollars each. I believe what they do is an insult to British culture.

The only quite high tea place in downtown Seattle, which makes it hard to rate it. It feels like you either go or out off option.Pros:- Quite, fairly good service.- Teas are really tasty.- Sandwich are delicious.Cons:- Real dessert are not well made, they looks all right but taste is jsut so so. Especially Macaroon, for anyone who tried other French macaroon before, can easily tell this one is really not good at all.- Close early around 230pm, they will not kick you out(Servers told us to stay as long as we want ), but still, feels like i should leave sometime soon.

Food was mostly good, but my mom and I were SO disappointed in the service, especially at $65 per person. Our waiter was not very personable or friendly and extremely hard to understand. It was obvious he was very new. We were just expecting something special, especially for the Fairmont, but was let down. The staff just had a very uninterested in their job attitude. Would most likely not return.I do want to say that Danny at Valet was amazing and most helpful!

Went for tea and the experience was odd. They had us get up from the table and smell each of their teas. Then, when we were served, we didnt have the ability to desteep so the pot was over-brewed by the end. Also service was delayed in offering us a chance to order different teas.

I treated a friend to Afternoon Tea at The Georgian this past weekend. My friend has an incredibly long list of allergies (including dairy and nutsand I reached out to SEVERAL establishments that offer afternoon tea within a 100 mile radius of Seattle, but only The Georgian was willing to make such allergy accommodations. It was an extended process -- I contacted the Food and Beverage Coordinator via email in mid-March and it took >2 weeks of back and forth to verify that accommodations could be made and to schedule a reservation. For others seeking allergy accommodations, I recommend planning well in advance and perhaps calling instead of emailing.Overall, the staff were incredibly friendly and had top notch service. We really appreciated the opportunity to smell the teas and learn a bit about each before ordering. The tea pots were consistently refilled, offering an almost bottomless experience. The tiers were varied, well paired, and incredibly decadent. It was expensive ($60 with tip/person), but a special afternoon.

Beautiful & elegant dining space plus helpful & friendly host staff. Table service was not as attentive as it could be.The $24 American Breakfast was an ok value but at the end of the day, $33 USD with tax & grat included for breakfast is a little steep for whats provided.Breakfast buffet unsanitary & unappealing without sneeze guards and lookie-lous with outer wear jackets (probably youths in pjs if you wait long enoughsurveying the dishes. How can this be policed though?However...looking very forward to having a signature Moscow Mule in the lounge later today! An experience not to be missed!

Our afternoon tea at The Georgian left much to be desired. While the service was routine, the food was at best disappointing. The scones were untraditionally served first, with scarce amounts of clotted cream and jam. The sandwiches were dry with the bread bordering on stale, still cold from (I assumebeing kept in the refrigerator for at least several hours if not overnight. The cakes were dry and uninspired. Overall, the experience was subpar. I would highly recommend the kitchen scratch their current tea menu and start again.

Great brunch spot in a historic hotel. High ceilings, crystal chandeliers, nice open room. The buffet is small, but packs lots of healthy options. Ordering off the menu gets you hearty portions. $50 after tip and tax for an afternoon tea with terrible service and uninspiring tea and food. The place is inside the Fairmont hotel. There were only a few tea options on the menu. I got the Earl Grey and it wasnt as flavorful as I had hoped. At least it wasnt bitter as other reviews have noted. We went around noon so the place was only a 1/4 full. There were at least 4 waitstaff and a few other service personnels. However, we barely receive any service. Near the end, I wanted to get the staff to clean up the dishes so we could take some picture but had to wait more than 10 minutes craning my neck at every direction trying to get someones attention. The afternoon tea came with 2 cherry scones, 3 savory sandwiches bites and 4 desserts. Overall, everything was too sweet. At the very least, they could have 2 different varieties of scone, a savory cheese and herb for example, to balance it out.

I was taken here yesterday for my 32nd birthday. Ive been to several tea services, including the Fairmont Empress in BC, and was really looking forward to getting to experience the holiday tea here in Seattle. I would never suggest anyone do this. Despite wanting to eat here so badly, they ruined my birthday. The staff (Jorge, Anna, and Mackenziewere all very good and professional (+1 star). They took our complaints in easy stride and did what they could to rectify the situation. Our party of 6 had two vegetarians and one person with a nut allergy, which they easily accommodated (+1 star). The down sides however, far outweigh the good here. The decor of the place was the same as during the summer, nothing to indicate this is a "holiday tea". No wreaths, trees or anything beyond a small fondant sculpture at the front. The rest of the hotel is overflowing with decorations, but that seems to have stopped at the door to the Georgian. With the architecture and space of the place there was certainly room to do a lot more here (such as anything at all!). Images on their website include a red reindeer napkin holder, and a sprig of holly with berries. I dont know where those were from, but not at the Georgian. The tea. I want to first say that I know a lot about tea. I go out for tea on a regular basis and there are at least three pots of tea brewed in my home a day. Our party got several types of tea, and they all had a common problem. In our two-cup pots of tea there was about 1/4-1/2 cup of tea leaves. You should never use so much tea. Its wasteful, and makes the tea taste horrid. Tea takes 1 teaspoon for every cup of tea, this isnt coffee. Additionally, there were no tea strainers in the pot to remove the tea once it has reached a perfect steeping. Instead they use a strainer set onto your cup to pour the tea through. I had to send my Earl Grey back to be replaced because it had been both burned and over-steeped to the point that the bitterness made it entirely unpalatable (it was darker in color than black coffee). The second pot had the same problem of too much tea, so while the first cup was ok, the second was horrendously bitter again. The third pot was no longer Earl Grey, but the 1907 blend. It had the same problem of too many tea leaves in the pot but was under-steeped, so I could make it work. Tea can be so good, and its so sad that a place known for its tea service doesnt know how to brew it. My wife also had to send her pot of 1907 blend back for a new one due to bitterness, and the rest of the table also complained about their tea being so bitter they couldnt drink it either. The comestibles also left something to be desired. The scones were very sweet, so it came off as us eating a dessert, then a small savory snack, then more dessert. I can usually overlook that since its a common trend with scones. Yet the tea sandwiches were abysmally lackluster. There were four bites of savory comestibles per person (roughly 3/4-inch in size). The lack of culinary balance here was felt by the entire party, who asked when the savories would be arriving. The entire party was still hungry for real food after the service concluded, which is something Ive never experienced at any other tea service Ive been to before. We were highly confused at the end of the meal since this was supposed to be their holiday tea. What made it a holiday tea? Ive looked at images of their regular tea service ($35and it appears we had the same experience (for $65)!Im highly disappointed in what we experienced and sincerely hope that the person(swho run the establishment take my review seriously enough to make drastic changes to the service. The Georgian has so much potential, and it feels like it was just phoned in.

Very nice looking buts looks are deceptive in this case . . .Have attempted to get into the high tea as well as breakfast several times on multiple trips to Seattle. Food was good to very good, but service was very average, and they werent very busy. Bill for 4 people was >$500. An elegant space, French-inspired Northwest Cuisine; this isnt going to be cutting-edge dining, but all plates are well executed. Service at the table was excellent, but communication with valet staff and execution of validation handoff was not as smooth.Ambience in the room was quiet, with a much older crowd than Ive experienced at many of Seattles restaurants. Maybe it was the weeknight, but most of the diners were 60+, tilting heavily in the direction of the 70s. This made for a quiet room, with not a lot of energy. More lively was the bar area, with some live music and a younger crowd collecting drinks.
