Village pub dating back to 16th century has a log fire, a daily-changing menu and outdoor tables.
Very friendly, nice table, lovely staff, local beers but a somewhat unusual menu.
Beautiful, romantic, cosy pub with good food and excellent service
I had read the food was good. and it was sooooooo good. Lovely little place. You will not be disappointed. Oh and the team are just delightful. Thanks guys for a cracking little lunch. 😋😋😋🤫🤫
Very good Sunday lunch. Food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming despite being very busy. The only downside is that parking is very limited so expect to walk to the pub having parked on the High Street.
Love the relaxed vibe and great food here. The leafy outdoor seating and childrens playground are also highlights.
Incredible food and service. They were wonderful with my 2 year old. Absolutely love it.
Highly recommend as a superb wedding venue! Staff extremely friendly and food is superb! Made it unforgettable experience.
It’s a nice pub, and perhaps is better thought of as a place to eat. Been there twice now with good efficient service. There’s a nice small inside space but outside is best. Lots of space, parasols and heaters. Occasionally some headlights from the parallel parking lot intrude but not much.Food is good though won’t blow you away. The usuals have enough to make them unique (the burger especially). The parking lot is small, tight and the small entrance can also be a challenge. Drive if you have to but get there early. The drinks menu is a bit light on the draught side, wine and Prosecco won’t be a problem though.
More gastro than pub but bags of character and friendly atmoshere.
Great food, good atmosphere, service was fast for starters but dinner came slow."
Lovely setting and the food was brilliant!! Our server was very friendly and helpful when we weren’t sure what to order. Highly recommend lunch here and a walk around the lake afterwards.
A great dog-friendly with on site parking and an outdoor area. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. They looked after us incredibly well, and our dog was made to feel at home. I would definitely go again.
Fabulous dinner at the George & Dragon. Lovely village setting and a very attractive pub inside. Really warm greeting as we arrived at the Bar and the experience continued on a high level throughout our evening. Nice sofa seat with our pre dinner drinks before we sat at our table. Service throughout was very warm and attentive. Satay chicken starters were beautifully prepared and tasty. Hake and Risotto main courses were both excellent and we followed that with cheese & biscuits and coffee. A delicious meal , beautifully cooked , presented and served. Such a lovely evening. We will return. Highly recommended. Thanks G & D .
First visit to the George and Dragon for a belated Fathers Day lunch. Beautiful, characterful pub with a lovely outside space. Really well put together menu executed with skill by the kitchen team. Service was welcoming, friendly and polite. 5/5 will definitely be back.
Very nice Sunday lunch, my only comment, please can you cook your cabbage a bit more it was so undercooked couldn’t cut it ! Other than that very good and would definitely return
Really enjoyed the food and drink here - the vegan banana cake was fantastic
Trendy modern pub, good service with a good selection of beers on offer like Peroni and Grolsch. Garden has lots of benches, lighting and neat flower beds. There is also a secure children’s play area. Clean toilets, plenty of hand towels.Just need some background music in the garden, would make the atmosphere better.
Wonderful indoors, fireplace, service.Food was almost top notch but I find it fell a bit short of the mark. Sunday roast with no potatoes? The cauliflower cheese was great and plenty of gravy is always a hit!
Great pub, great food! Will definitely be returning regularly
What an excellent meal from this local pub/restaurant. The best in Sevenoaks. The pork belly was to die for 😊
Would definitely give 5 stars if garden was properly open. Hope is soon. Solid food, good, friendly service. Decent prices. Somewhat stressful with toddler on the gravel, not the grass
We love the GeorgeThe food is greatThe staff delightfulA really cozy 17th Century country pub and they welcome dogs10/10
A small country pub that Id previously missed when visiting the area. The food was excellent, a real step up from standard pub grub.
Excellent lunch, food is superb , atmosphere relaxed and fantastic staff. Place of choice from now on when looking for local meal.
Went for Sunday lunch here with the family last weekend. Very good food, nice staff and a well presented pub. I recommend it.
Excellent Sunday roast. Quaint pub. Good choice and also alcohol free choices which was handy as was driving and had to get back out of a rather tight parking space. Staff all very friendly. We did have a settime at the table as they had further bookings but plenty of time for relaxed lunch.
Great food, the place to go if you want to eat well. Lovely place.
Beautiful old pub with a cosy feeling. The meal we had was amazing, both courses extremely tasty. My desert was probably one of the best Id ever had. Good range of food choice on the menu, catering for vegetarians. A pub with amazing service and good ambience. Definitely will return again soon. If I could give it 6* I would!
Great service, cosy atmosphere and delicious food. We had the steak & couscous, chicken, slow cooked lamb and the rhubarb.
The food was good accept I had a burger and the bun was very stale, however the staff were quick to rectify this and when it eventually came it was tasty. The atmosphere was a bit odd with the music being played feeling like you were at a student disco, not a beautiful old pub. I feel there a better pubs in Sevenoaks and surrounding areas so I would not be back here in a hurry.
Beautiful old pub with delicious food and staff always happy to help. We just found this place a few weeks back for a Sunday roast, and have been back twice already. Its easy to get to off the road to Sevenoaks although parking can be an issue when its busy. Food has been excellent on each visit to date, we will definitely be back.
It was fine. Good playground for the kids and the service was friendly enough. The food was OK. Nothing too amazing though - the gravy with our roast took ages to come out, the Yorkshire puddings were cold and the chocolate mousse I had for dessert was not set and just a runny mess. I wont go back to be honest, Im sure I can get better for the price we paid.
Couldnt wait to get online to write this review. Very happy to compliment this place, we had a great afternoon. We had business un Tunbridge Wells and thought wed eat before heading back down the motorway. Now we would journey back just to while away and afternoon in their lovely outdoor eating area. The food was delicious, the place clean , the decor charming, the service fab! We are used to carribbean food and can struggle with the blandness of some restaurants but this was very good. An imaginative and well thought out menu. Thank you G & D staff.
Lovely quiet room for a work reunion dinner. Menu options were limited, though the steak strips with raw salad and skinny fries was good and a friend enjoyed her Seabass
Had tasty Sunday Roast. Well behaved dog was welcomed at the pub. Good service and enjoyed our meal.
Really lovely village pub, building clearly a few hundred years old and has a lovely charm.Outside is a really nice modern beer garden/terrace with excellent seating and a small kids playground set to the rear, but set back in such a way as it is kept separate from the tables. Nicely laid out.Visited with party of 4 adults and 2 kids, all well catered for, superb menu for adults and children alike, excellent choice of beer and other libations. Its bang in the middle between us and the in-laws hence why we chose it, and having visited Im sure well be take time and again.
Service excellent. Food was good with an interesting strawberry Pimms desert. If you go Sunday evening the roast options run low, so be prepared to be flexible. Very dog friendly.
Really good roast dinner, food was lovely, however service was poor, staff not attentive, place felt dirty. It felt like they were understaffed for the amount of tables, probably due to the outside area. For this reason can’t give it any higher rating. We were going to enquire with them about catering for our wedding but will think twice about this now.
Lovely and friendly staff, great chefs who come out and have a chat with their guests (massive plus, well done!, beautiful food! Steaks juicy, wide variety of deserts, starters full of flavours - all seasonal menu! Really enjoyed my birthday meal, thank you so much to Ben and The Team! XX
* read more for update..Nice pub, seating outdoors, plenty of friendly staff, my dad said that the ale - Georges Marverlous Medicine was not great (a little cloudy and not nice taste), the car park is also very small, but there is a play area in the back garden for the kids.Update:Had fairly bad service here on our most recent trip including more than one mix up on the food and drink orders. Also a very dissapointing (and dangerous?hot pork pie which involved kind of warm pastry on the outside and cold filling, clearly warmed badly from the fridge. The chips were a bit under as well. The kids menu is £10 for 3 courses, which we ordered.. or £10 for one main course which is what turned up.The service charge is added to the bill which aggravated me further due to the mix ups encountered, this said, although mistakes were made, staff were friendly.I would not eat here again based on this experience though.
Great to be back at the pub, it was a bit chilly but excellent staff, excellent food and what a lovely pint of Summer Perle ....
Lovely food, polite friendly staff, great outdoor seating with heaters, would definitely recommend.
Great service with excellent tasty food. Definitely one to go back too.
Nice enough but wont be rushing back - a bit over hyped. Nice kids playground area. Food was good but not outstanding - nice main but small and left hungry, chocolate tart for pudding was big and rich. If it wasnt for the eat out to help out I would have left feeling it was quite expensive for what it was. Not enough waiting staff too.
Lovely food, lovely service, children play area, large outdoor dining and space indoor too. Highly recommended!
Really lovely Sunday lunch. A great traditional pub/restaurant with excellent food. Came for Sunday lunch and was very nice, staff were extremely helpful and understanding with a member of our party who was gluten intolerant. Really authentic decor and traditional styling was nice. Only criticism would be the (lack ofparking.
Love this place. Excellent customer service and really good pub food
Housed in a 400 year old pub it has that British country warming character. The warmth continues with chatty, friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Their guidance through the menu was honest and exemplary. The recommended veggie burger was the beat example I have had the pleasure of eating. The staff went in as far as recommending a dessert and pairing it with off the menu ingredients. Their side recommendation elevated and complemented the crumbly dish. Price is excellent given the quality. On this occasion, which is rare, I was sad to say goodbye.
Very, very good. Wonderful food, lovely outside area and smart, prompt service. Wonderful pub, could improve its modern craft beer selection though (currently none!)
A lovely setting for a pub & restaurant with beams and uneven floors.Retro furniture thats mismatched but it all adds to the ambience. Its a busy place but thats because it is popular. The food is excellent and pricey but well presented and so full of flavours. Most of the ingredients are sourced from local farms and producers so everything is fresh. Good service and knowledgeable staff. The wine list is extensive and if you are keen on cocktails there are many to choose from. A perfect place for a romantic meal or drink. Unfortunately the car park is very small. At busy times youll be better off parking towards the top of the hill rather than in the pubs car park.
