OK but a bit lack lustre. A strange rule applied to outside drinks which had to be served in plastic glasses if taken onto lawned seating area. Unfortunately my pint of real ale was average at best. But hey this could have been a one off. Food not being served when I was there, again Im uncertain if thats always the case. Ample easy car parking, plenty of outside seatingIn summary, not bad but has potential to be so much more

Quick, friendly service with a wide range of drinks. Including proper coke.

Not like it used to be pre covid. Not home made anymore. Very poor limited menu and frozen food.

Lovely garden, super coffee (was driving). Lovely outside space for warmer weather with a childrens play area.

Chose something simple in the hope it couldnt be ruined. I was wrong. The chips were pre cooked and warmed up. The salad consisted of limp lettuce with a few slices of cucumber in total. The wrap had the consistency of cardboard and the filling was unrecognisable. The table was not cleaned, I had to do this myself with the napkin. Never again!!!

Interesting spot. Have it all. Kids play area. Pool. Fruity and staff who are aware when you potentially need a refill.Good as gold

We came in for a 50th birthday. Table service was efficient and friendly - a special shout out to Ella who was lovely.Most of the party ordered rib eye steak. Ella then brought out peppercorn sauce (which we hadnt orderedas the chef said you cant have steak without peppercorn sauce so I whipped some up for you. What more can I say?Thank you for a lovely meal, perfectly cooked steaks and very reasonable.I think weve found our new local eatery..

First visit. Nice, local boozer. Friendly staff. Table service runs like clockwork. Pub dog is a beast! 🐕🤣

The Staff couldnt do enough for us! Great food good portions! Nice atmosphere! Met the chef who came out to say hello after we praised his lovely dinner! All 8 of us really enjoyed ourselfs and will definetley be returning! Thank you!! X

the manager very helpful when needed a place asap for a family wake, he sorted everything out for me and the food was very good and hospitality of his staff very good too, thank you "The George" .

A welcoming pub. Landlady Lucy is fun, super friendly and always helpful.We had our daughters 10th birthday party at the George with 11 kids. They had an amazing time and the waitress service was great.My favourite local.Steve & Marilyn.

First time visit for me. My daughter and granddaughter have been before today. Great food, great price, enjoyed and appreciated even more seeing the poor chef suffer in the heat, thank you. Bar staff lovely, young girl so polite and courteous, thank you. Will come again.

Nice, clean pub with a decent pool table, darts board and pleasant beer garden and good parking. Handyish for train station. Staff friendly and helpful.

Called in here ahead of a match at Thackley AFC. Nice pub, had Sky Sports and big screens for around. Decent enough standard selection of beers, and very welcoming staff.

Good choice of quality brands. Friendly welcome. Reasonable prices. Intriguing smell of real charcoal grill from the kitchen but alas no time to explore further on this visit.

Had a leaving party here on 5 aug had a lovely day staff very friendly and helpful would recommend this pub as a venue and the food was lovely. Great outside area for kids.

First time in the area and just called in for a meal. Friendly staff, service good, the meal was excellent - steak cooked exactly as requested - well priced. If were passing again, wed definitely call in.

I highly recommend The George. They do great pub food and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Fantastic choice on the menu and great value for money.

Went with 4 friends. Service was appalling from bringing the wrong meal and then arguing that we must of ordered it because it said so on till ticket. No apology when bar person said she had pressed wrong order or when waitress spilt sauce all over my top, trousers and arm. Food when arrived tasteless.

Hot day so decided to have tea at The George. Beautiful beer garden so had a couple of drinks outside first. Great little play area for the kids decked area to sit on and tables aplenty spread across the grass. Could have eaten outside, decided to go in. Nice and clean and spacious bar area. Great little games area, pool table and dartboard. Service impeccable, all staff fantastic. Food was delicious. I had chilli my wife the hunters chicken. Generous portions, I said she could have asked for half the amount of chips and still left some! One let down, and silly as it is, reason for four stars not five; no Tabasco sauce! Otherwise, if youre passing The George, dont! Call in, and enjoy! Bring your own Tabasco though!

Good value for money and good portion size on the food . Two meals for £12 available . Nice environment and friendly pub.

Not been in for a while but was pleasantly surprised, has been really well renovated, great selection of drinks & plenty of seating areas both in and outside.

Have been to the George Pub after 25/30 years absence due to bringing up a family who now frequent the pub every weekend and during the week for quiz night. We then chyose it for the funeral wake of my late husband and last Christmas day I spent a couple of hours with my daughter, my children decided to throw a surprise party for my Birthday and today was a party for my much loved daughter in law and son for their baby shower each and every occasion was made special for us for each reason. The pub has a warm vibrant mix of all ages which I think makes a good pub one you will visit again and again we had a buffet today which had quite a good variety and our children often like to go down for a meal at the pub with friends and so I have been told the meals are of good quality and very reasonably priced. The only one fault I have is that there is no actual disabled access and being a wheel chair user I have to resort to using my crutches but as .that is the only fault I will certainly enjoy some more time there.

Amazing food very home cooked and excellent in every way. Staff were brilliant. Fast, friendly, gargantuan portions and a bouncy castle and climbing frame for the children. Happy find after a long day out.

Was nice but the smoking shelter wasnt finished and theres no outside cover so was a little grim stood in the doorway watching my bike with a pint.
