Traditional-style local welcoming families with regular deals on a menu of pub favourites.
Improved a lot since I was there last. Great food, staff are friendly and a relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely pub and excellent food. I was served by a young man who was very polite and helpful I think his name was Josh. Bar staff are very friendly its just like a traditional local without any bother.....thank you I will be back again and again.
As always on a Wednesday, great night down the Roy for quiz night. Friendly staff and have a laugh with friends and family.Great place for a pint and some nibbles or food. Busy again which is nice to see
The pub itself is in a nice area, good parking and nice outside space. The pub inside was a little loud but football was on so understandable. The service on the otherhand was abysmal. Upon ordering as a group of 4, we didnt realise the food would be served one plate at a time at 15+ minute intervals and thrown at the table at high speed by a member of staff who yawned his way around the resturant.I dont believe its normal for one of the group to have finished eating before the last has even been served. We asked to speak to a manager after when final plate of food finally arrived it was also wrong. The manager sent other members of staff instead and clearly did not think we were worth their time.We were not the only people complaining that night.
A Sizzlers franchise so you know what youre getting with the menu. Just a tad more expensive than Wetherspoons but you get the benefit of a huge, dog-friendly garden with plenty of undercover seating and ample parking. TVs inside and out to watch your favourite sporting events and a nice ambience inside with the special features of open fireplace a stained glass cathedral style window ...the place has some character and charm and is good value. On the occasions I visited, the staff have always been helpful and friendly. Awesome on a sunny day for the outside layout alone. Well worth a visit
Always nice to go there just me and my wife staff are very friendly and food is always good .
We did our wedding celebration at The General Roy today, and it was amazing, way better that our wildest dreams. The place, the service, the food 12/10. Top experience from us and all our 20 guests!!! There was so much food that we eat for 2 hours!!! That you guys, you rock!!!!
We always enjoy our time at General Roy, with good food and a good selection of drinks. 👍
Great food, great prices, football on the telly. A great place to spend with the family, relax and enjoy. A bit disappointed with the reduced menu and the slow service but it was busy
Excellent food and ice cold beer what more could you want !! Staff friendly and very helpful
This is a pub discreet in feltham. Good lcoation, lots of aprking and reasonable food and prices on drinks
Food isnt bad but its abit run down and needs work doing to it. Toilets arent pleasant.
Pleasant garden with decent shelter in thos very hot weather
An absolutely fantastic pub to visit, whether it’s for a meal or just a few drinks, I frequently visit for both and every time the food is always cooked perfectly and tastes amazing. The service from the staff on top of this is everything you would want, constant smiles, friendly service while keeping professional at all times. Highly recommend visiting this place.
Food was amazing!!! Staff were so great and helpful👍🏼 Would highly recommend going to this pub. Loved every single bit of my time here😁😁😁
Best pub in Feltham always watch the football in here and love a pint of Stella here. Best bar staff so friendly and helpful
If it would be possible i would give minus stars!!!! Total dissatisfaction and disappointment. I have booked for fathers day to be told I will be waiting for food an hour but when I went to order a minute later I was told the kitchen was all ready closed because it has been to busy and they may reopen in 1hour 40 minutes for pub that was maybe half ful. Honestly feel sorry for those two chefs i the kitchen as myself I come with hospitality experience i can tell that planning and organisation clearly does not exist in this place.
App didnt work, online menu we were told to use wasnt accurate and dogs are not allowed inside (nor was any water offered for them outside). Had seating outside but not that pleasant an environment. Beer was fine but we left it at that. Not a gastropub judging by the menu.
Good Food excellent value for moneyFriendly staff and really good service
Was good portions were a bit on small side lovely ladys behind the bar food was good price was pleasant was ok nothing bad to say but nothing special either just good grub for good price
Great atmosphere, staff couldn’t be more helpful! love it here, will definitely be back!!
Honestly the worst pub experience I’ve had due to the arrogant manager… Jodie. Disgusting attitude and customer service. Swearing at customers is never a good look.
Visited today roast chicken dinner and treacle sponge dessert excellent
I have visited the General Roy several times, for a disco, a karaoke, and several drinks and meals. The service has always been second to none. The food is delicious, especially the new menu. I had the grilled chicken which was cooked to perfection on a bed of the freshest veggies. I find the staff to be friendly and professional, and there is a good “old fashioned” pub atmosphere which is hard to find these days.
This is a fantastic family, sport and entertainment pub.. great food and friendly staff. Has what no other pub in feltham has and that’s an atmosphere! Whether you popping in for a quick drink or a meal it’s worth it 😊
Nice pubs for a drink and good prices. Normally the food is OK - pub food - but last time we ordered chicken nachos just to go for something different - we are NOT ordering them again - nearly no chicken and not nice nachos with many sauces - none of them nice. We should have ordered anything else. Never again.
When we arrived we were told that there was an hour wait for food. We then had to wait 25 minutes to place our order. The waiter came after an hour to inform us that they had run out of onio9ns and also they had no platters to serve the food so would a plate be ok.. The food arrived after an hour and twenty minutes the gammon and chicken were only just warm and the steak was so tough we could not put a fork in it was also raw! The mixed grills were missing the sausages and after complaining we received them burnt. The steak was inedible and the manager apologised and gave us a £20.00 voucher as an apology. The cokes were in bottles and the cost of £3.30 each it would have been nice if they had been refrigerated instead of warm! This was a birthday celebration but was ruined by the bad food. The staff were clearly struggling to cope and the kitchen staff seemed incompetent. This is the first time we have had a bad meal in a sizzling.
I first went to The General Roy about a month ago after a cinema trip with a friend. I was a bit apprehensive probably due to shyness as much as anything about going into somewhere new. But I can honestly say I have never felt so at ease and comfortable as I did on that first visit. The lovely Kris made us feel like regulars from the start and did a wonderful job of promoting what the pub had to offer i.e. quiz night, sizzling app etc. We had a lovely meal that night and I have returned twice with my friend and each time has been a lovely experience.Tonight I took my husband to show him what a really nice place it is. We had a lovely meal - mixed grill for me and gammon for him - the food was piping hot, well cooked and very tasty - well done to the chef. I could not fault the service at all from the young man who took our order, the server and the young man who cleared our plates and asked if our food was ok. Superb!!Not managed to stay for the quiz yet but plan to go again next week.Thank you to all at The General Roy.
Had a chicken roast dinner and it all tastes like it had just been warmed up in the microwave
A good old fashioned pub very welcoming staff and a great karaoke evening. We stayed around the corner for army v navy rugby at Twickenham and are returning next year based on our experience this year.
Wow! What a great pub!! We just moved to Feltham 6 months ago, we are not big night out people but love a nice meal in a pub and the General Roy did not disappoint! 2 meals for £10! Bargain! It was served in a timely manner, piping hot and delicious! I had the cod and chips, the cod has a light crispy batter and the fish was flaky and soft, cooked to perfection!I was also amazed at the entertainment and activities available through the week! Darts! Karaoke and more! All documented on a handy flyer on each table. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. Moreover the cleanliness of the pub is amazing!! Well done General Roy! #localpubdoneright
We had a really good evening on Good Friday at The Roy. They had a solo performer called Andy Woods Mitchell singing and playing harmonica to a really great selection of songs from the 70s to present day. The staff were efficient all evening making sure you were served promptly and the tables were cleared of empties reallly quickly inside and outside. Everyone had a really nice evening 😊 As we live nearby, this is our "local" so we visit every Wednesday too for the Quiz Night hosted by Kris which is always good fun as shes a great host and makes you feel really welcome. Definitely recommend this pub for drinks with friends, fun evenings and cheap eats .
Great selection of food for the whole family, warm atmosphere provided by a friendly staff and decent prices.
Great atmosphere top food extremely helpful staff good family environment
Nice food, disappointed they ran out if garlic bread! Good prices, would recommend to people!
Very welcoming, nice food and very Reasonably priced. Definitely worth a try.
The General Roy classifies themself as a “restaurant”, Google seems to disagree and refers to The General Roy as a pub… when they run out of ketchup they may as well shut up shop, seemingly unaware of the 4 supermarkets not a 10 minute walk away to tide themselves over. Off-duty staff confronting costumers over issues with orders, just a taster of the incompetencies experienced from my visits. Oh and the food is sub-par, fatty, oily, diabetes on a plate, all for a two hour wait. Enjoy!
Used to be great every time we went. Last few times weve been, several things have been unavailable and meals have taken 50+ minutes to arrive, including one occasion when we arrived a little before the doors even opened. On both of our most recent visits at least one item has been cold. Today it was the mushrooms, last time it was the chips.Someone asked for a plate without a tomato, but it was included anyway - customer could have had an allergy. Luckily, she just disliked them.Menus were sticky and obviously not wiped, which is a particular problem at the moment. We had to press for plates to be collected. Did not see one single table being wiped as people left. Make sure you sanitise your hands well.No kind of queueing system in place, people frequently barge in or are asked for their orders when others have been waiting for longer. Now often have no explanation as to food arriving late, only apologised when told one of us now had to leave without eating due to an appointment that theyd left plenty of time for. I know it gets busy, but this has been excessive. No onions today, but they did have premade onion rings which they could have offered as an alternative, but did not. But they could sell us some seperately, of course. Onions are such a basic thing for a restaurant to stock. Surely after 6+ months they still cannot be working out order volumes for the new menu. The next order after ours was also told no more tomatoes or mushrooms, and I heard at least two people failing to order the fudge cake as well.Steaks were miniscule, bright pink in the middle though we ordered well-done, and I could barely eat a mouthful of my own since it was so full of gristle etc. Generous amount of sauce, but there was so little actual food on the plate that most of it was wasted, and of course its a seperate purchase. Portion sizes have definitely dropped recently and the menu has been greatly reduced. Their website still has the old menu though, despite replies on here saying that the switch happened 6+ months ago, so, having looked online in advance, we were looking forward to ordering things that were no longer offered. There are now only a couple of veggie options on the entire menu, only one of which is warm and both of which contain things a couple of our party could not eat. There were also not enough staff on duty. Behind the bar is almost always empty now, leaving people waiting for ages. At one point on our last visit, customers were told no more orders were being taken as they had to put away a delivery now. And yet they were still missing things when orders resumed some time later. The 50+ minute wait was post-ordering, by the way. We might have been ok had an entire family not been allowed to barge in front of us, despite not even knowing what they wanted yet. Favourites are definitely given preferential treatment. And then a family member had to send some chicken strips back because he could not get his teeth through them, they were so tough. The staff when you can actually speak to them are friendly enough and Im sure are doing their best, but seem a bit overwhelmed quite frequently and standards have definitely slipped over the past few months. Im sure itll be blamed on Covid, but you just shouldnt leave a restaurant still hungry. - Especially not twice within a few weeks. As things had previously been great, we decided to give the place another chance after the first occasion, but will think twice about doing so again.
I normally love this place. However when we came in last just before Christmas after pre booking a table over the phone we manged to find our seats as there was no staff available like the normally is. When we went over to place the order after we have been handed the normal and Christmas manu we were told we couldnt order from the Christmas menu as its for bookings only. I was confused because not only did we book the table in advance, a memer of staff specifically handed us the Christmas manu. By the time we were infromed we cant order from that my kids were just too hungry so we ended up walking out and eating elsewhere.
Went for Christmas Dinner. So well organised, and never seen so much food, which was cooked to perfection and well worth the cost. Will definitely consider it again for next Christmas. Staff were brilliant and worked their socks off. Looking forward to popping in for dinner again soon 😁
Very nice pub somewhere youd never guess it, it is warm, cosy, spacious and clean, the staff very cheerful, helpful and easy going. You get a reasonable portion for the value. It may take quite a while for your order to be served so if you are really starving, get yourself a beer first to fill your belly a bit.The staff is honest enough however to warn you, do hat off.
I love this pub. All of the staff are very friendly and polite and make you feel welcome. Last time we ate there I had a steak and it was cooked to perfection (especially impressive as rare steaks on a sizzling platter often end up overcooked). Prices excellent value too, especially if you have kids, as there is often deals on. 👍
Good quality pub food. Friendly staff. Nice environment. Big car park.
Excellent deal for two tasty lunches.
We found the food selection quite limited. Fish and chips had run out to reduce it even further. Far more impressed with whetherspoons or hungry horse pubs. Good parking and lots of outdoor seating available.
Amazing atmosphere,good varieties
Quality service and food was so good. Staff where excellent and have made it safe to enjoy during this worrying time. Hats off to all staff thank you
Fantastic food, my children love it here. Plenty of space outside, brilliant hosts vibrant atmosphere book yourselves a table and you will not regret it 😀
Having read (mostlygood things about this place and wanting to try somewhere new, we were really looking forward to eating here. When we walked in, I immediately felt it was a lot louder than expected and could do with a clean. There were a couple of groups of people in the pub being seriously loud as well - far louder than the music or general atmosphere!! For a Thursday evening, that was pretty unexpected. The drinks were decent enough and the staff were perfectly friendly. They could definitely do with some more beers on tap - especially in this era of being spoilt for choice by craft beer! When ordering at the bar though and also at our tables, there were a lot of fruit flies around which is never pleasant. When we went to order our food, we were irritated to find that there was no fish (so no fish and chips which half of us were orderingand they couldn’t use the hob (so couldn’t cook eggs for the full English breakfast). Having read a lot of reviews saying that people had had problems with certain food items not being available, I was really hoping they would have sorted this out. Sadly not, so we were really disappointed. I think my father in-law was given some extra bacon as an apology, but sadly that doesn’t much make up for not being able to eat what we were after.Probably the most disappointing thing was when the food arrived. After reading one review about “great portions”, we were left wondering if we’d come to the wrong place. The portions were really small compared to other places like this. Granted they are cheap - and they really are cheap - but we would have much preferred to pay a couple of pounds more for a decent serving. I was pleased I’d ordered a side of cheesy chips, but even these were pretty lacking on the size!! The quality of the food really was good, so we had no complaints there, but we were just left feeling pretty hungry. As a result, we ordered a couple of big desserts. These were a pleasant surprise, as they were a really good size and again, they were really tasty.Of course, the pub can’t do a great deal about the clientele so can’t be blamed for that, but that would unfortunately put me off going back any time soon. It’ll sound really snobby reading this, but we are not snobs in the slightest!! We just don’t tend to enjoy places where people make a point to shout as loud as they can at people standing right next to them, looking to fight with every other person who walks past. Again, not the pub’s fault, but a shame. If they ordered more of a stock of the food that seems to be often unavailable and perhaps increased the portion sizes on certain dishes (even if that means increasing the prices slightly), we’d give it another chance some time. Sadly though, for our joint birthday celebrations, this probably was not the best place to choose!! Let’s hope for an improvement in future, and thanks to the staff for being more friendly than the other guests were!
Nice friendly environment, the food was great and I had a great time with the family.
