A 6-minute walk from the Bass Museum of Art, this upscale hotel in the trendy South Beach neighborhood is a 15-minute walk from the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, and a mile from Lincoln Road’s shops and dining.Casual, colorful rooms offer free Wi-Fi and 42-inch flat-screen TVs, plus coffeemakers and desks; some have balconies or patios. Chic suites add separate living areas.Chocolate chip cookies are free upon arrival. Other amenities include an upmarket restaurant offering open-air dining, and a modern lobby bar, plus an outdoor pool, a gym and coin-operated laundry facilities. There's also a 24-hour convenience store and a business center.
I would recommend spending your money somewhere else. This place doesnt meet any standard. Service was literally the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel. I gave them two stars because I did have a roof over my head. FOLLOW ME for more thoughtful recommendations as I travel the world 🌎
The bed was the worst Ive ever slept in my life. Horrible pillows. Terrible service. Charging for parking is a steal, as the extremely rude valet wanted to charge me 42 dollars a day and wouldnt let the car stop in front of the hotel to unload the luggage. He was going to charge $42 a day and park it in a public parking lot across the street for $15 a day. A real steal!
I cant say enough about the hotel. It was great, everything from the staff to the pool and the service. How they greet you and make accommodations for you. As we were leaving the manager came and ask how was our stay and if we had everything we needed during our stayed. This will be my to go place as it is away from the craziness of Ocean drive and If you want to party its a few minutes away from everything.
Its a very nice stay in our opinion but the hidden fees were killer first off theres no parking you have to pay 42 a day for valet parking then theres a extra charge of 30 for beach tent and 2 hours bikes and pool that wasnt optional. Either you use it or not you still got to pay extra 30 on top of your stay. Our bed was extremely comfortable and everything else was good other then the hidden fees. Beware before booking.
I had a great experience as this hotel! I was nervous about staying here because of reviews I read, but I’m so glad I decided to try it. The staff was nice, my room was nice with a balcony pool view, and the location was great! There was also Easy access to the beach, good food and the hotel offered a complimentary bike ride as well as daily activities. I was able to take free salsa lessons and yoga!!! Fun experience and great quality for the price
Called ahead of time and ask for a balcony or a good view they said sure with no charge. When we arrived we was not accommodated with that type of room. $43 parking each day at the hotel. Our room faced a wall with no view at all. When we also received our vehicle they put other people belongings inside of the trunk of our car. That showed us they are not responsible with your vehicle. Make sure you take everything out. Called for housekeeping needing more towels and they did not show up. Housekeeping left wet pillow cases in the room on the bed once we returned back to our room. I will not be returning. I highly DO NOT recommend.
Dont understand all the negative comments. We had a lovely stay, the front desk employee(when we arrived)was super sweet(unfortunately forgot her namewe got an upgrade with a pool view balcony. The room was great, hotel was clean, the pool was small but sweet, we definitely enjoyed it. The day before our departure the front desk lady connected me with Hector for a driver but he completely ignored my email. Kimmy the front desk employee is the real MVP! She managed to hook me up with a driver to take my family and I to the airport at 5am, shes a life saver. I wanted to tip her and she didnt accept it, so humble.
Absolutely horrible stay here. The hotel was dirty and rooms were small. But that is far from the worst of our experience.I am a Hilton gold member. I checked out of the hotel and was never emailed an invoice or provided any folio of charges. Weird?I noticed two charges on my credit card. One was for pre authorization hold and the other was apparently for food and beverage and resort fee. I contacted the front desk through messages before ordering food to make sure we had $30 credit to use. They said we did.I call to dispute the charge and the girl at the front desk was entirely rude and unhelpful. She kept telling me to call Hilton honors as you booked third party and your “points” don’t apply. I didn’t use any “points”? Clueless. I told her the reason I ordered was because gold members get $30 credit for food and beverage and her staff confirmed before ordering after looking up my account and stay. Here’s where it gets incredible. I asked the her name for reference when I called customer service or corporate and she actually said thank you sir in a fake voice for calling gates hotel hope you have a nice day and hung up the phone on me. Absolutely DISGUSTING.Do yourself a favor and skip this trash of a hotel. The staff is arrogant and you will likely be overcharged for everything. We actually didn’t use the pool , bikes, beach towels - nothing! Nothing under the “resort fee” did we use.I will never be back to this hotel and I can see why it has horrible reviews. Also to park your car there is atrociously expensive. Should’ve trusted my gut.
I really enjoyed this hotel. The location, the amenities and the service was excellent and worth the price. The rooms are well equipped and the bedding was comfortable and fresh. There were several pillows so I cmould choose the ones I need and work for my sleep style. All in all great experience and I would come again.
Great stay. Comfy bed and the pillows are heavenly. Very clean property. And the cookies they give you when you check in. Omg yum.
We had the most wonderful stay at The Gates South Beach! Service was amazing thanks to Skylar- and Wendy at the pool. Shout out to the bartender (didn’t catch his namefor the best spicy skinny margarita. Clean rooms, comfy bed, and great location- will definitely be back!
The housekeepers did not clean the room or change any towels despite us requesting several times. We had to go to the reception to pick up towels every day for 6 days.
It’s very nice hotel, clean, and welcoming. Walking distance to the Beach. Jo at the front desk was super helpful and went above and beyond, Thank you.
The Room smell bad, the bathroom was dirty, a lot miscommunication with the reception. The breakfast was bad. The only goof is the location and also they provide you 2 chairs and 2 towels on the beach at no cost, but you have to pay for the umbrella $25. Beside that I think is overpriced to be a Hilton hotel, and not clean.
I stayed at the Gates during Bitcoin 2022 in Miami Beach for a week. I stay at a lot of Hilton properties and this is in the top 5 in the entire world for me. When I was checking in, I needed help opening some luggage of mine that I forgot the key for. The staff helped me get in so I could have clothes to wear. From the first moment I stepped in until I checked out, everyone who worked there was extra friendly and helpful at all times. The layout:There is a restaurant out in front which has a top notch breakfast buffet with the best mimosas, fresh fruit, meats, veggies, and seafood...I was very impressed at the wide spectrum of foods and the amazing quality. While Id eat my breakfast, I was serenaded by a beautiful young lady and later by a talented charming gentleman who took requests for songs too.Inside there is a lobby bar and restaurant which also had some amazing dishes. I liked the octopus dish, the hamburger, and ceviche if I recall correctly. Outside there is a pool and a pool bar which also serves food until around 4pm. After that you need to order from the inside which isnt far at all.On the weekends they had a DJ spinning music in the afternoon by the pool and salsa lessons one day with a very charming young woman. This was great fun and a nice opportunity to meet some others. My room was a standard King on the first level with a door opening to a sitting area adjacent to the pool. This was very nice, especially at night to sit out in the open air.The hotel has valet parking. They were pretty quick with bringing the car up and dropping off, even in the middle of the night after coming back from some of those epic Miami parties. The hotel is within walking distance of Lincoln Road, the beach, the convention center, and most of South & Middle Miami Beach. There are bikes available for use from the hotel and also bike rentals out in front where you use the app and you can ride somewhere and drop off the bike.Lyft and Uber are pretty readily available in South Beach 24/7 and I did use those a few times when I didnt feel like driving. The hotel was very clean and up-to-date. The architecture is a more open space concept. They open up all the sliding glass doors during the day and the lobby is breezy and good lighting.Once again, I really loved this hotel and the staff. I highly recommend!Ill be back in May for Bitcoin 2023!
This Was The Absolute WORST Experience I’ve Ever Had At A Hotel! From The Time I Arrived, I Was Approached By 2 Spanish Speaking Valet Personnels Who Could Not Communicate With Me In English AT ALL. The Only Thing They Were Able To Say Was “Valet Only”. Once My Mother, Sister & I Gathered Our Belongings, We Entered The Hotel, Which Has A Nice Lobby, But Everything Else Was Terrible. As We Waited At The Front Desk With All Of Bags In Our Hands, We Were Not Greeted Or Offered Any Help. We Had To Ask For A Bell Hop Or A Cart, Which We Were Told They Didn’t Have, Which We Believed Until We Saw The Bell Hop With The Cart & Asked For His Assistance. Once The Other Receptionist Realized We Were Irritated About Their Co-Worker Lying To Us, He Offered Us Burned Chocolate Chip Cookies. I Mean At Least He Tried, But It Honestly Didn’t Help The Mood. The Bell Hop Was The Best Part About The Hotel Because He Was Very Welcoming, Helpful & Down To Earth. When We Arrived In Our Room, It Was TINY! We Felt So Catfished Because It Was Like 1/2 The Size That Appears To Be In The Pictures. We Sucked It Because It Was The Only Room They Had Since Rolling Loud Sold Them Out, But For $400 A Night, That Was Unacceptable. We Settled In & Tried To Watch Some TV, But Guess What? The Remote Was Broken, So We Couldn’t Browse The Guide To Select A Channel. When We Tried To Call The Front Desk, The Phone Didn’t Work, So We Had To Walk Downstairs And Tell Them. While On The Elevator Going Down, I Spoke With Some Other Guests Who Expressed That The Lights In Their Room Didn’t Work. We Decided To Just Leave To Get Some Air Because This Wasn’t Pleasing At All. When I Got My Car Back From Valet, The Window Would Not Roll All The Way Up, Which Wasn’t A Problem When I Gave It To Them. I Immediately Complained & Was Told That All That They Could Offer Me Was A Late Check Out & Free Breakfast Because The Stay Was Nonrefundable. Fast Forward, Try To Go To Breakfast The Next Day & Was Told I Could Only Select The Items On The Card I Was Given, Not Anything From The Menu. When I Ordered The Chicken Sausages, They Were DISGUSTING & I Expressed That To The Waiter, Who Then Told Me “They Are Terrible But I Didn’t Want To Tell You Because That’s What You Wanted To Order So I Let You See For Yourself.” It Was Horror Story After Horror Story. I Attempted To Still Participate In Activities, So I Went To Get A Free Henna Tattoo That Was Included In The Stay & When I Arrived At 2:30, I Was Told I Would Have To Pay Because Free Hennas End At 3 & They’d Be Working On The Person They Had In Front Of Them Until 3. We Requested Our Room To Be Cleaned While We Were Away & It Wasn’t. We Tried To Ask The Cleaning Staff & They DIDN’T SPEAK ENGLISH EITHER! When It Was Finally Time To Check Out & Leave, I Tried To Get My Car & Valet Told Me I Had To Pay $50 Before I Can Get My Car, Which Nobody Stated Until The Last Day & It’s Funny How They Don’t Speak English Until It’s Time To Pay. This Hotel Is A Joke! I Highly Highly DONT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
The hotel was beautifu. l the room was really small. One light controlled the entire room, so if you had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you had to turn on light switch, Which illuminated the entire room. There was no separate light for the bathroom which meant you would disturb anybody else in the room. The morning of check out, the water was totally turned off. I couldnt flush the toilet, nor shower, let alone brush my teeth. Called down to reception and was told it was a problem throughout the whole hotel and It would be fixed by 7:30 AM, which we were checking out at 7 a.m.
Nice, clean hotel. Lovely pool area, nice bathrooms in the room. Good service. The food and drinks at the pool bar are very good.
My Family and I had a fantastic stay at The Gates Thanks to Joe. He welcomed us warmly. I hope Management knows what a gem they have in Joe. He is a true gem to your Hotel. We will be back and we truly hope to find to him still working there. Bianca at the concierge desk was great too. Thank you.
Terrible hotel, worst experience I ever had. I would not recommend it. Pool dirty, broken chairs, terrible ambient and the presidencial suits had multiple stains in the bed blankets, smells bad the ac. I had booked 10 days and quickly after 2 days change hotels.
Great hotel, I have no complains, service, food and drinks were superb. Conveniently located, beach closed by. Already looking forward to going back.
Loved this stay - we had a balcony pool view room and it was perfect. Ola was great - pool was excellent. Would be happy to stay here again!
So I had given this hotel a 3 star but now a 1 star. Why? The main issue was the billing errors. I was charge a deposit for one night and when I left charged again for entire stay. I contacted hotel, spoke with Cory and he promised to correct and return the additional $226 and over 2 weeks later nothing. Then they charge another $616. You kidding me. Then I had to call Cory again and they returned that billing error. Cory gave back the $30 resort fee to his credit to help the situation but his failure and the hotel failure to not correct the $266 billing error 2 weeks later, has caused me to update this GOOGLE rate to 1 and dispute the charge on the AMEX. As a HILTON property, very disappointed. Look else where for a quality hotel because when you dont care about your customers, you simply dont care at all. Finally, you would think a follow up would happen by the HILTON, nothing!
rooms has swage smell and bath is outdatedRoom are not sound proof and you hear other neighbor room and even music from night clubThe charge for packing is $41 daily!!!You need to pay extra $22 on top of resort fee for Umbrellas at beachYou need to ask for room cleaning one day in advance otherwise they only clean once each 3 daysHotel location is good.
Stayed for the 4th of July Weekend it was a great experience. Would’ve been 5 stars but the room was kind of small for 3 people and the view from the hotel room wasn’t good. Service and View from the pool was Amazing though!!!
In front of hotel is the end of a canal where all the debris piled up. We even saw a bloated giant dead iguana floating around. The pool is really small and there are not enough chairs. If you want a cabana, I was told it was first come first serve or you have to pay. There were people walking around the pool area bringing people food or drinks. In all the 5 days we were at the pool, no one ever asked us if we wanted something. In all the reviews I read, no one mentioned the beach. Yes, the beach is right across the street. But if you want the chairs and towels included in your resort fee, you have to walk 3 more blocks down on the beach to get them.
This hotel is nice for the price. Bob, the Bellman, was phenomenal. He welcomed us as we waited for the valet to park our car. The front desk associates, Sofia and Akiba, were also very nice. I recommend this hotel if youre on a budget but want to be close to the beach!
Didnt enjoy my stay. No matter what mode I set the central AC to, it kept cooling and kept room temperature to 66-67F. Heat didnt work at all. The only way I survived was sleeping with multiple blankets and turn off fan and AC. I didnt have time for getting this issue reported and corrected because I was there to enjoy not deal with maintenance issues. No self parking. Valet parking $42 (without tipfor 24 hours with in-out privileges. No microwave inside room but there is microwave room on 2nd floor near elevators where meeting room/staircase is.Front desk was really helpful and nice. Make sure you know they charge $100/night for incidental charges.
We arrived at the hotel from Europe, jet-lagged. Check-in is at 4 PM and we arrived at 2 PM ... we would be called or emailed when our room would be ready ; we never received any message.Beware that a "resort fee" is automatically charged to your account; even if it rains non-stop the whole day. Simply outrageous! And an indirect way to announce a room-rate that nobody pays as you get a 15% surcharge whether you like it or not.Valet-parking is slow.
This is a very beautiful hotel and it is located in the calm side of south beach. I initially book a standard king bedroom upon my arrival I requested a upgrade due to my diamond membership and miss Akiba took great care of me. I really enjoy the king suite terrace balcony. The balcony was massive. Thank you so much Akiba. I will return. Lastly the angus burger was to die for i indulge twice throughout my stay.
Very basic hotel. Was paid for before we left Ireland. But on arrival we were told there would be a hold of $137 per night per room. But would be lifted after we check out. But then on check out we were told that 50 dollars per room per night for WiFi and towels and pool area would be taken out of that money. The pool area was tiny looks alot bigger in the picture but doesnt seem to fit the size of the hotel.also the pool is right beside main road so you can hear traffic motoring past. Which wouldnt bother me if I wasnt charged for pool bed. That I never used. Came back one day to find that the cleaners had left my door open. So anybody could of taken anything. For the price of the hotel i couldnt believe how basic it was like a travel lodge. Nothing special. If you want an experience stay at Eden roc its beautiful and pool areas are amazing!! This is also a non smoking hotel so you have to leave the hotel grounds to smoke which is quiet literally they footpath infront of hotel.
No cleaning service and staff was not very helpful with questions or issues. Edit: the cleaning service was requested everyday that we stayed (a total of 4 daysand each day our room wasnt cleaned. I went to the front desk everyday to ask to clean and they asked for the room number and said it would be cleaned...it wasnt 🙃. So the very last night I went up to a cleaning staff member cleaning a room down the hall and asked to have our room cleaned next. I went to the front desk and told them I took matters into my own hands and they were just lackluster surprised that the room hadnt been cleaned because in their system it said we requested for daily cleaning.
Quite nice hotel.Room was nice clean and modern but the Air conditioning was arctic and I couldnt adjust it to do anything other than attempt to freeze the room solid. One of the reception team was very rude, but the rest were quite nice.
Upon checking into our hotel the staff was not helpful. They did not tell us where are room was, when I asked I was given attitude. The room looked clean until I opened the pull out bed for myGrandson and dirty bed cover was on the mattress. I called room service which did arrive quickly with sheets. I showed the gentleman how dirty the cover was and asked him to take it with him, he explained they did not have another cover but would give me something else to cover the bed. We had dirty hand towel in the dressers and was told that happens even after the room gets cleaned. For the price we paid we should have had better service and cleaner room.
Everyone at the hotel was very nice names to be included Joe. Karim and David. Hotel is located right one the main strip on Collins Ave and is very easy to get to places. Also the hotel is very modern and nicely decorated as well. As a extra perk you do get a set of beach chairs and a umbrella right on the beach as well which is included in the resort fees.
We have had an excellent stay. The room was clean and noise free. We were upgraded to a balcony room on the top floor and I have added some pictures from said balcony. My only complaint would be the water didn’t get hot enough for my liking but that is more a personal preference than a hotel issue.Pool area was awesome and they have some activities planned for the afternoons so it keeps you entertained. They have a private restaurant attached and ‘Ola’ and it has some great reviews but we didn’t get to eat there as we had made reservations elsewhere.
The location of this hotel is amazing right on Collins Ave. Walking distance to all the good places and the water. Staff was very nice, food was good, atmosphere great. I liked how the pool was situated.. private enough from the street, it felt like a pure resort.
Somewhat awkward location/tight driveway/entry. Smooth & quick check in/out and they give you a complimentary cookie! Hotel pool, restaurant, and attached bars are all really nice but slightly expensive. The octopus and sangria were definitely worth it, while the bourbon inside the hotel was of lesser quality for the money. Rooms are small but cozy, nice TV, small fridge, decent bathrooms & lighting. They provide free water which is a great perk and was actually pretty tasty. The pool can get pretty loud during some days and they have events/dance party’s & make it a fun vibe. They were handing out free ice pops one day I was there to people chilling at the pool! Across the street is a very nice hotel and bar and quick access to the beach — this place is only a 10-20 min walk away from most stuff on Collins!TLDR; worth the price for the stay. Great place for a 1-2 nighter where you’re spending most of your time elsewhere but want some decent amenities!
