This 6-acre destination with botanical gardens hosts special events & offers classes.
The gardens are stunning! For photographers: there is a permit required. Please make sure to reach out on advanced to confirm your permit. Once in there is the gardens are so big and there’s so much to explore. Exploring on a weekday is great as it’s really quiet and no crowds!
Gorgeous rose garden. It’s quiet here and relaxing. Butterflies and hummingbirds. Plenty of benches in the shade. 10/10 would return
It’s a beautiful botanical garden farm ideal for any social event
Exceeded my expectations.
I like it there, because the flowers and lakes are pretty and beautiful.
Attended a lovely wedding in The Gardens and enjoyed the setting very much. Congratulations to the service crew!
This is a treasure of a place. Having a wedding here in a week and the space is beautiful. The fields of roses in full bloom and aroma.
Beautiful garden, beautiful flowers 💐
Beautiful gardens with a tranquil atmosphere, I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something to do while in Walnut Creek
There were a lot more flowers in bloom than I expected based on the time of year and the rain we just had.
Always booked so call ahead and check their website if status is they are open to the general other if not status dont go or you be disappointed. But from a distance it looks great. Also not part of memberships but cost is free anyways
If you love roses you need to visit this garden.
There arent any Roses now but there are some others like Japanese Crabapples, different kind of Daffodils, Camellias, Mallows, Salvia Hot lips, Loropetalum etc...
This is the best park!!! The gardens are absolutely beautiful, and its such a huge park with so many different spots to explore and trails. Definitely coming back!
Chilling place 😌 beautiful flowers
Loved it. Great to be outside again, surrounded by pretty flowers, nice lawns and happy people with masks!
This is the Most beautiful place I ever go I liked came with my family and make the Easter eggs I recommend this garden and park for the family there was a beautiful Beautiful place
What I love about the gardens is that they have a little section dedicated to native plants. Often it is hard to find such beautiful examples of our beloved Californian and natural heritage out and about. This is a great place to bring children to encultureate them and educate them about the unique bio diversity our fine state has to offer, as well as, the world. If you are elderly this is a nice place to come by and Contemplate life in Serenity. If you are a lover bring your significant other and hold hands as you walk side-by-side through beauty and grandeur. Enjoy the art that Is displayed throughout the garden. If you are emotional like me, then stop and read the memorials and recognize how many people have come together in order to Grant us this gift. The gardens at Heather farms is an example of how community can Act as a force for good!
Wanted a new stroll and found the Gardens at Heather Farms. Our first visit in December was refreshing if not flower-ful. Our second visit in February rewarded us with much more color and the promise of a glorious summer to come. Will definitely be back to enjoy the garden in additional seasons. Many paths to meander through; we particularly like the succulent area. Pay attention to the strawberry tree add you enter; the bark and fruit are fascinating!
Such a beautiful Park. Were so lucky to have this gem right here.
Beautiful roses and landscaping, and no entry fee
Lots of beautiful roses.🌹
Great place for a walk in the morning. Very peaceful and relaxing. If you go just as the sun comes up there is some good bird viewing.
Nice location. Scenery was lovely.
This has to be with out a doubt this best park in Walnut Creek. The MAIN event they have here every year is the Art and Wine Festival, not sure if they are going to be having this year. The one problem to watch out for here is all the goose poop, be careful were you walk when coming here. A large , spread out area to hang out and chill.
The gardens are beautiful with its huge fountains
Beauty and tranquility figuring these tumultuous timesOnly wish that more people wore masks for everyones safety.Little children running in every direction.(not enough signs)
Lovely place to visit, walk your dog, even fish (not sure why here but I see people doing it 🙂). There is a dog park too
Part of Heather Farm Park, beautiful, public garden to visit when the roses are in full bloom. Open from sunrise to sunset, unless a private event is taking place on the grounds. The roses are clearly marked for those who are interested. Well-maintained. Popular (aka crowdedduring the weekends with families and couples strolling. Very popular for weddings and private parties during the summer. You really dont have to spend a lot money on flowers when the garden is in full bloom.9/30/2019 update: From March - November, there is a fantastic Six 6-week sessions on Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30 a.m. called “Nature Explorers Program“ for 2 to 5 year old preschoolers. It’s a 90 minute “Parent/caregiver and Me” class that teaches about nature, the environment, a little bit of science, etc through storytime, walking through the Gardens, and creating a hands on arts & craft project. The weekly 90 minutes outdoor class goes by fast for both your kid and you (and you both learn about nature).Ms Noelle is great with the kids and helps out both kids and parents during the weekly arts project if needed. She spends a great deal of time prepping for the weekly topic and her arts & crafts project is always interesting, clever, and creative for both your kid and you to make. The parents are always talking about creative and imaginative she is with everyday household items and what we gather around the Gardens to add and incorporate into it.Highly recommend this weekly Program for 3 1/2 year olds and up. The older kids get more out of it than the younger ones (my observation after attending 2- 6 weeks sessions with my 3 year olds). As mine are getting older they appreciate and participate more of the weekly class now then we first started. They also are excited when Tuesdays come around because they get to go the “Gardens and see Ms Noelle.”Gardens does offer sibling discounts and Members discounts (Join the annual Gardens of Heather Farms membership - It’s a great nonprofitfor the Nature Explorers Program sessions. You can pick and chose which of the six 6-week sessions to sign up for or you can sign up and pay for a weekly Tuesday class if there is availability.
I attended a wedding here - a beautiful and natural venue for such events
As a wedding photographer this venue is a dream to work at. Their staff is friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Best of all the gardens are beautiful all year round and easy to get to. We always look forward to visiting again!
Place is really beautiful especially in late spring and early summer!! I suggest people to visit here!
Beautiful little park garden area. We saw a frog and some tadpoles among the lily pads. My kid was delighted when he realized that there were tadpoles. It was so pretty I kept taking pictures lol
We had our wedding ceremony and reception here! The Garden at Heather Farm was an amazing venue and there was so much that was included in the price. They did require wedding insurance and you cannot get to the venue prior to your rental time at all, a solution for that is to make sure everything gets delivered to the venue and that you have a day of coordinator to help with the setup. It has both an indoor and outdoor option, beautiful photo spots. Great for children and families. They are professional and responsive and punctual. Great recommendations and excellent customer service! We got so many compliments on how amazing the venue was. There is a library/meeting room that can be used as a dressing room.
Great rose location and excellent flowers. It is a good taken the pictures, amazing view.
Very nice park to walk dog, has family picnic, take kids to playground, or just take a walk
Beautiful garden and flowers 🌺🌻🌼🌷🌹🌸💐
Hot & muggy but absolutely breathtaking. Its a nice, small venue for special events. Flowers were blooming & the area with all the roses smelled glorious.
The animals, especially the blue Jays are extremely smart. The Jays really LOVE Pistachios & I used to wear blue shirts & feed them where the benches are near restrooms. They got so spoiled that when I hadnt fed them for a couple of days some of them would pick up an empty shell & drop it next to me while looking up with their head crooked. Repeatedly. At the pond beyond the water works are the fascinating Turtles. If you talk to one hell bob in the water looking up and soon a few more will show up. Before long there might be 5 or 6 of them all floating there listening to you talk to them. To assume animals arent intelligent simply because they cant talk or may seem disinterested is wrong. Maybe they think humans are not as smart as them! By the way if you get near the geese you better have a snack for them if you want to make it past them!
Great place to take photos and relax...
Beautiful garden with blossom trees, amazing flowers, views - must see
Beautiful park with great amenities, lake, and dog park! Great place to bring the kids for an afternoon on the playground or hang out and picnic on the grass.
Flowers inside; water, grassland, BBQ picnic site, swimming pool, basketball and sand volleyball courts outside. Perfect for local people.
Beautiful gardens and very peaceful
Great Diablo Valley Fly Fishing club meeting. The best
Always worth the visit, whether alone or with family
Beautiful, shady and open spaces. Nice breeze.
Beautiful gardens...well designed and maintained. A great place for a relaxing walk. The rose garden is terrific in bloom. The park surrounding the gardens adds to the overall impact.
What a beautiful place to walk through, and the rose garden is always a pleasure. Seasonal plantings always delight, always change.
Stunning rose garden inside a very nice overall garden. One of my favorite places to take visitors in Walnut Creek.
