Inaccessible venue, rude staff, wouldn’t accept my Canadian passport as legal ID, don’t know what that nonsense was about. Sounds from the other reviews like the staff is not only nasty but racist as well, how delightful

Staff were lovely but the disabled entrance was not accessible at all, and the wheelchair user was forced to walk up a steep hill to enter the venue

Never buy tickets in advance. When we arrived at the gate the security guards wouldnt let us in without giving us a reason. They have the immunity to say whatever they want. They invented that we were drunk, (we had not had anything to drink). Its because we are foreigners and they are racist.PD: We paid 10 pounds each and we dont get our money back.

This is such bull,I was super sober but the bouncer said I was too drunk…I was they only black in line! I don’t wanna say I was rascally profiled but it was suspicious.I’m never gonna be back there again.

The Garage for gigs is not great. It gets 2 stars for good lighting and atmosphere, because the punters make a gig night. Otherwise, compared to other music venues in town, its fairly poor. It puts bands on early compared to their counterparts (main acts finish by 10pm unlike the standard 10.30/11pm elsewherein order to funnel people out to make way for its club night of teenagers and desperate older men. The bar serves a basic selection at the bar of cheap beers and spirits (wine is not included). If youre a band looking to tour- there are better venues available! If youre attending a gig- take heed of the times!! Ive missed half a main acts set due to working late and them being on early here. Learn from my mistakes.

Hey so me and my boyfriend we both bought tickets for today 28th of October online. But we decide to take with us my boyfriends brother which is 19 . Your security guard (Callumdid not let him in the nightclub because he didn’t not he with him a document which is notConsidered to be allowed by your policy regulation. Like I do understand that this is your policy but your security guard denied a manager presence when I requested to speak with one saying he was the responsible at that night refusing to give any type of prove of such. Now I am not an expert but have me and my boyfriend both of us bought a ticket and request to file a complaint or request to speak with a manager it is not the right of a security guard to offend this person and deny a right we have as customers. Now I do expect an apology and a refund of both me and my boyfriend tickets as I do not allow for anyone to accuse me of being drunk like your security guard did and to refuse to let me speak with the responsible . I will not rest until I have a proper reply. It is 01:23 I am not drunk and I will not allow for anyone to disrespect me like that. So I do advise for you to acknowledge this or I will not rest !!!

Best place to vibe out with friends on a weekend but its open on all 7 days a week. Drinks are of pretty good and friendly rate. They even click your pictures. There is a staff who do face painting, if you want u can do it. The entry charge there was £7. The garage has 2 party halls when we went so you can switch to any if you find the songs good in any of it.

Bouncer wanted to see my ID instead of my student card but because I had to look for it in my bag and wasnt a native English speaker which made me sound a bit all over the place I suddenly seemed too drunk and immediately all my friends were refused as well. Do not recommend this place

Just got my ticket for the Aristocrats on June 12, 2023. I’ve wanted to see them for years. The only true supergroup in the world - Guthrie Govan, Marco Minnemann, Bryan Beller It’s gonna be amazing!

Felt like I should have brought a solicitor for the interrogation I received from the bouncers trying to get in. Been asked less questions at a pub quiz.

Disgusting behaviour from security guards, I never usually write reviews but I absolutely do not recommend going here at all whatsoever. I watched 5 of the guards put their hands on 2 innocent guys who were simply having a good time and those guys weren’t causing trouble at all. DONT GO HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE ABUSED BY STAFF WHO ARE MEANT TO PROTECT YOU!!!!!!!! 😡😡

Begrudgingly went with friends after hearing horror stories about the place. Didnt even get in and it lived up to its reputation... The bouncers were extremely rude and clearly racist as they didnt let my friend in because they had an Asian ID (official government issued). Never going back and highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs!

RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My friends and I have arrived at the Garage, queued like everyone else, produced our I.Ds VERY POLITELY and with NO VALID REASON, the bouncer with a round earring on his right ear DENIED US ENTRY without even TAKING A SECOND TO LOOK AT OUR I.Ds. We politely asked for a reason why we were being denied access and his reason was, "BECAUSE I SAID SO." This is THE MOST RACIST CLUB IN GLASGOW!!!! We were simply denied entry because were black. Another guy at the door claiming to be Pakistani and the club manager(very doubtful though), also insisted that we cannot go inside the club. We have pictures and a recording of the conversation. SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

A friend and I went to see Arion, Brothers of Metal, and Gloryhammer. The security staff were friendly and approachable, and even notified us we were allowed to vape inside so we didnt have to stand in the rain. Saw one guy took a bump to the noggin and they took care of him and kept checking on him. Bar staff were great, they seemed to be making a mental note of who got to the bar when. I think my only gripe, was as somebody with reduced mobility I had managed to climb the multitude of stairs, but when I needed the loo it was a mission, and there was about 20 of us women lined up to use the 1 hand dryer as there were no paper towels, even at the beginning of the night. 100% looking forward to next gig here though

4am shut , 3am and it closed. I enjoy the garage but I come out for these 4 ams as the fun they have. Sad times

Just wanted to write a review specifically for Jaz the security guard! Just want to say a big thank you for making us feel super safe and informing us about procedures. There was an incident where myself and friends felt uncomfortable and after telling him he sorted it straight away! There was a younger guy who wasn’t the nicest that’s why the 4 stars

I was the designated drunk driver for the group so I was kinda just chilling on my phone when one of the security who had the same body type and head shape as Huell from breaking bad came up, starting shouting in my face and insisted that I was taking photos of people. I showed him the last photo in my camera was my cat in a cardboard box and then he started shouting more and squaring up to me for whatever reason before forcing me to go into one of the main rooms rather than the lobby where I originally was. His breath absolutely stank as well, to an extent I can not describe. The most accurate comparison would be that he unclogged a toilet at the gym with his mouth before downing a bottle of peppercorn sauce. The same bouncer also left his colleagues who were struggling to get a drunk and violent customer out the club. Like he was there for 5 minutes watching it before straight up bailing and just standing in the main room upstairs. No idea how he’s still employed but what can you do.Music was decent tho, Unfortunately no comment about the prices as I wasn’t drinking but I did hear some guy ranting about VK’s costing £4 so that’s probably not great

I was visiting glasgow for the first time, just trying to have a nice time. But because I am a man, I was not allowed in. I wasnt drunk or anything, just wanted to have some fun. It was just plain discrimination.

Because we were too old probably bouncer who looked about 20 himself used the old u look too drunk cant let u in even though there was worst states getting in before us but the were barely 18 so it was fine completely disappointed as had been recommended.

Bouncers hate males who wear short but are more than happy to take advantage of drunk women in shorts with kisses on the cheek to let them in. Pretty messed up.

Went here for the hunting killers event last week and what a night. The whole event from start to finish was great. My friend is in a wheelchair and the venue had great accessibility. All staff were very helpful particularly Gill C. Thank you

Brillant night weirdo Checkin bags out but she was on the ball but he moved toa diffrent floor should hv been kicked out sitting at peoples tables waiting for a drunk woman to steal her bag , i was watching him bec ive got kids and would i fk want them to be robbed, he was dancing trying to mix , but never once went to the bar, £5 entry few hundreds excited out the 🧏‍♀️door staff are brilliant cant fault them they tried to keep track of him

Nice wee venue but twice Ive been there for a gig and on both occasions the security staff have stopped us from leaving the venue before the gig ends! This is tantamount to being taken hostage....what the hell is the issue for those running this venue....when folk want to leave....let them!If there is a next time, we will call the cops and let them decide if there has been a law broken!

Very heavy handed bouncers. Refused entry due to smelling of alcohol despite advising I was driving and no alcohol had been drank. Very poor response from bouncers when challenged the decision.

We were assisted by a lovely Hayley to book a booth for the Saturday club night to celebrate an engagement. The booths are in an area called The Balcony and its quite an apt name because you get a nice view of the packed out dancefloor below.My only quibble and hence the four stars was the early closure of the Hip Hop and RnB room. That was quite frustrating as its our favourite genre.We also met several clubbers inside and they were good natured and friendly.

I came here for a Taylor swift vs Harry styles night at half 10pm , I am here at 12.31am and so far 2 of each has played! I did not pay £5 to get in here for that! SHOCKING !!!!!! distribute what your customers pay for

Nowhere quite like it for a Thursday night! You really can’t beat having a bouncy castle and beer pong in a nightclub, people just go mental for them. If you’re looking for a good time on a Thursday night, get yourself down to Garage!

Its a great venue for gigs. Good security aspect, and drinks available inside. Saw stone broken and the sound was perfect.. seating area available,disabled accessible.

Me and my friend were followed by 2 grown creepy men on Tuesday the 12th of April. We had planned to visit ‘the garage’ to join our friends. After the 2 men had followed us, we approached the garage and were asked for our ID’s which we had no objection towards. We informed the door staff about these men following us, and at first we’re greeted by open arms by the women at the door. This was before she realised her male companions were less than impressed and began to insult us over our complains of the 2 men that followed us. Between me and my friend we had 3 cocktails, below the average amount before entreating a club. We were refused purely based on misogyny and discrimination. I hope your staff improve on their stance regarding women’s safety. After being sent away we continued to be followed by the men. Do better. We were called misogynistic names… ‘bitch’… ‘whore’… by the very door staff that are supposed to protect women. 12.04.22 23.00 ish

Smells of sweat and multiple midlife crises. A nostalgic and heartwarming memory. I sometimes park my bike here. And much like my dad’s garage, I like to sleep overnight here too.

This is the worst club I have ever been to sadly - I was here with a friend, both of us very respectful & tasteful, most importantly kind good people, and arbitrarily the bouncer refused entry to us. I have probably only written 5 reviews in my life and this experience compels me to write my 6th.

Last night I experienced discrimination on entry to your club when visiting my friend at university from Birmingham. I was asked at the door how much I’d had to drink, to which I honestly answered 4 drinks, but was accused of being too drunk. When I explained I was fine, which I was, it felt the bouncer had already made up their mind. My friend was subsequently coerced by a female bouncer into leaving the club after your bouncers left her with no choice, telling her she “wouldn’t leave her friend on her own”. I have never experienced treatment in a club like this for no apparent reason and even now I’m struggling to understand why. After reading the rest of the reviews, this seems to be a continuous problem.My review will be reflected in my complaint. I won’t be returning and neither will any of my friends.

Refused at the door with valid ID. The bouncer explained that he would happily allow me to enter but was unable due to their club policy against Young Scot IDs.Young scot IDs come under the pass scheme although it is perfectly acceptable to refuse such ID. His reasons were solely due to the type of ID and not my condition.I was even told by the bouncer that he wanted to let me but wouldnt due to fear of repercussion from his manager.I ask that said manager reconsider their door policy expecially since lots of young students will be using NEC cards as ID.If the government accepts it as ID, there is no reason this club shouldnt.

This is one of my absolute favorite places on the face of the Earth. I have countless photos and memories of great times here. I studied abroad to Glasgow back in 2018 and I made my way to the Garage one night during one of my first weeks there. You can believe it was not the only time I made it there. I went back for the face paint, the bouncy castle, the glow stick parties, the foam party, new people, the drinks, etc. The entire atmosphere is all around incredible and always a great time! I loved it so much I trekked through the huge snowstorm that came that year with my friends because we could always count on the Garage staying open through everything. I am so happy to see that the Garage has made it through the troubles of the pandemic and is starting to re-emerge. I will definitely love to make a trip back there one day! If you are in the area and you don’t take a trip to the Garage you’re truly missing out! 20/10 recommend! Have a rocket fuel for me & let the good times roll!

After 14 years ICP are back, with MushroonHead. the best night never. i have never been to the Garage before and the place was good, drinks price are good, the staff where friendly. They even gave out drinks of water near the end. the place was packed. the photos do not do them justice, so sorry for the poor quality

Been a long time since I attended a club night here but in my younger days it was a favourite. Visits now are for gigs. Good little venue. Even if your at the back of the room youll have a great view of the stage.
