51 Lavender Gardens, London SW11 1DJ, Antsohihy
Eccentric pub in a former music hall with a classic menu, house-brewed ales, comedians and DJs.
How ridiculous. Early and very very sober as a 56 year old I get refused entry as I have no photo iD. Jeez. Nanny state or kids as doormen with zero ability to think for themselves. I’d introduced my kids to this pub. But no more.
Went for friends birthday. We all had a ball dancing to retro DJ and fun game’s especially the car racing in the upstairs arcade. Friendly fun place
Amazing night out. Fun round every corner to explore and great bar drinks and service, with DJ and top floor fun arcade.
Hannahs service was impeccable from start to finish! I have to say it made my Saturday night! Promote this girl! The loveliest smile in SW11!
Don’t get cocktails here - they don’t put anything but tonic water in them. Also, the two girls at the bar were unbelievably rude - will never come here again. Oh, and the whole place smells like bathroom.
I loved the arcade, had an amazing time! Great cocktails, specially the rum punch!! Thanks Hiago for the recommendations!!
One of my go to pubs in London. Its awesome on any night of the week, but perfect for a weekend evening.Got everything you could want in a bar and is perfect for people who want to start or finish a night out
Hannah at the Boat Bar in four thieves delivered the best experience, very chatty and sociable! Gave the best service, throughly enjoyed my drinks. Thank you! Would recommend to anyone.
An excellent experience especially with Hannah who is a superb bar person. She deserves a promotion or at least a bonus for how excellent she is 😁
Great game bar. Basement is karaoke room, ground floor is restaurant and bar, top floor is arcade games but also with VR and racing etc. payment is by touch credit card. So easy to enjoy and also spend $$$
Really cool with some awesome rooms like karaoke, tap room, nice beer garden and the games room upstairs. Really like this place
Good bar for a night out and if you want to experience a quirky place as they have many rooms and arcades! Some are proper 90’s games! They also have some outdoor space which is a bonus. The food isnt great but its not the main selling point to go there!
A good local pub with lots of rooms (one has a stage and a boat in it), and lots of events like quizzes. Its just off the main road, so it has a much friendlier and more intimate vibe than places nearby. Good beers, and a nice yard at the back. Ill be back for more!
Drinks are not the best but where else can you play games and have cyder? Definitely a fun place when its not overcrowded.
Love this place 👌 such a fun vibe. The remote control raceway is awesome!!Also has nice beer garden and fun little dancefloor
Amazing local (hidden gemwith great beers 🍺 and pub food plus an extra pizza menu. In addition the venue has lots of activities and entertainment including comedy, jazz, cabaret, karaoke room and an arcade. Outside there is an additional garden 🪴 oasis A complete night (or dayout in Clapham 🎶🥰🥂👏🏼🍻🎭🤹🏽♀️🎤🎹🌈🍕🍷
They have a dj and parties on friday and saturday nights, really enjoyed it there ! The arcade upstairs is my favourite. A must go bar in London!
Disappointing experience compared to what this pub used to be. From fun, edgy, with great retro games and a great vibe, the games now seem to be breaking down and it just all feels a bit…tacky. Maybe a place to go when you’re already merry, but for someone looking for something different it feels tired now.
Hannah and Jess were absolutely lovely on my 25th birthday. Had the best time. The staff were amazing and so kind
Ray is a fantastic employee! Met her outside and she really created good vibes before and after we left. The bar staff were fantastic too!
Visited this place on a Friday night. This is a great place to go if you want entertainment beyond the standard drinking/dancing! Theres a pub-style area on the ground floor which was pretty empty with overly loud music, and upstairs is a huge games area. Most of them are arcade machines which were difficult to understand how to play 2-player (some instructions would be useful, I was completely sober and struggling!). Theres also a sizeable toy car racing track which you enter through an organised ticketing system, which is fun.The games are pretty pricey for a single go - especially as some of them are over in 30 seconds. However, you can pay with contactless which is convenient. The only reason Im docking 1 star is because I feel the toy car racing is a little rigged. Despite pressing on the accelerate pedal, my car would not move for a good 5-6 seconds; others would be very responsive. When I told the staff member operating the track about this, he said hed check the car, but I saw he never did: I think he was relying on the fact Id be too drunk to notice (I didnt drink). When I went for a second go, I asked if he had fixed it, and he said there was nothing wrong with it, when there definitely was. Its just a game, but can frustrate people and lose you customers!Would recommend this place to all!
The drag bingo was hilarious! Not suitable for the easily offended but it was fabulous! The chips were great but the pulled pork sandwich was a little soggy on the bread. Staff were brilliant and the building is huge!Loads of space to keep away from the masses. The garden courtyard was brilliant, little sun trap!
Decent venue - we didnt stay for the loud club music downstairs, but spent most of the night in the gaming hall. The games were fun, especially the remote control car racing. However, the cars we drove kept breaking until we literally couldnt steer them properly. We politely asked the operating guys if they could sort this out for us and they were a bit overly defensive about it.However, they did let us switch seats in the end so it was all good. The gaming area could do with some air con as well. We would have stayed for much longer but had to leave after 40 minutes because it was like a sauna in there.
Great place of you to have some good old arcade fun, but not with much variety. Otherwise, a pretty regular pub.
We were celebrating our mates birthday and had an absolute blast. Games are great, food is tasty and beer selection is very decent. Staff were very nice :). Highly recommended!
If I could leave 0 stars I would. This is easily the worst experience I have ever had with bar staff. Booked for karaoke - when they were running 30 minutes late we were happy to go to the bar while we waited for them to set up (they couldn’t get the previous group to leave). When they showed us to the room, there was a hen party before, the group were continuously coming into our karaoke room without anyone telling them not to. We were concerned about our belongings so told the manager, they said there was nothing they could do and we could leave if we were not happy with this. After they aggressively said we had to leave, we asked the bouncers several times what the reason was for asking us to leave after we had paid to rent the room and they did not know the answer. Bouncer was an absolute disgrace, snatched my friends phone and threw it across the street. Thankfully we caught this on camera so all of the bad reviews about the awful bouncers might change. Would never step foot in here again it was awful.
Super impressed, loved the look and feel of the place, upstairs was amazing! Like that you could bring boardgames in if you wanted to, good food great selection of drinks
The games part of the pub was brilliant and we had a lot of fun, but the staff we rude and aggressive. They got our orders wrong many times and blamed us for it, when they put the order in wrong. They gave vegans non vegan food, again blaming them for this situation. Two security guards and another member of staff came up to our friend just after their boyfriend left to get them some water and food, and was aggressively talking to them about their well-being when they knew they were looking after themselves. Whereas when men were actually being sick in the toilet, they didnt intervene. Such a shame as the games were very cool but the staff were awful and we will not be returning.
We visited here last night for my partners birthday and were shocked at how rude the staff were. We enjoyed the games downstairs for a few hours and then came upstairs to get some food. Half of us went up to order and the other half stayed sat down - one of the group is a surgical nurse and was shattered from a long shift, so she rested her head on the table. The bar manager, a member of staff and two security guards immediately came over to harass her, asking her over and over why shed put her head on the table. They said she had to order food as she was too drunk, which we were doing anyway - three of us ordered vegan burgers, including the nurse. They then kept bringing up meat burgers instead, getting ruder and angrier every time they brought the wrong order. It was so bizarre, my partner asked to speak to the bar manager - despite him explaining everything politely, she was then rude to him too?! Eventually she comped my friends burger for how theyd treated her, but at that point theyd all ruined the birthday so we left. It had been dead upstairs for a Saturday night in the area - maybe other people know what the staff are like.
Went on a Friday night, when there was a dj playing. That probably affected my experience negatively, as the music was a tad cheesy and not music you could dance to or enjoy with your friends. It was some romantic (?style of music that maybe couples would have enjoyed. No, it wasnt Valentines Day.Anyway, we sat by the garden, which closed rather early btw.Its an ok pub I suppose, but nothing extraordinary. Their chips were kinda meh as well.Drinks were fine.Prices are think were kind of standard for the area.
Visited on a late afternoon. The place smelled a bit off, and is definitely in need of a good refresh. We were left hanging, waiting for 20 minutes to order two drinks at the bar. The staff seemed too busy chatting up girls than serving customers. Probably a good place to get wasted on Friday night if you’re max 21, not sure I would take work colleagues for a decent glass of wine or let alone dinner. It’s a pity, as the venue architecture is quite interesting.
Great pub with an awesome arcade upstairs. Gets very busy so worth booking ahead if you want a table. Good selection of beers and friendly staff! Only disappointment for me was we had booked a table for 20 and when we arrived there were people sat at them and empty glasses and plates. We had to move them and no one came to assist. Then when our slot was up we were very quickly shifted off the tables so it felt a little unfair that that wasnt the case when we arrived!
Really nice vibe, didn’t get to visit the arcade room this time but the food at the bar was really good with sizeable portions.
I’ve never had so much fun in a bar! The food was nice and the racing track is incredible - you control the cars from racing simulators. Hours of fun for everyone. Will definitely be returning again soon!
Wow, a pub crossed with an amusement arcade. Really interesting concept, everyone was having a good time. I can imagine spending more on games than on booze 😉
This venue has a range of activities for you!Such as Arcades, Music, Karaoke, Beverage and Food.A great place to chill, sing, have fun, play games and drink all at the same time! What can go wrong?3 floors of excitement! And plenty of rooms for dinning and seatings. Each room has its own little quirks and vibes, everyone here are all friendly and fun!Recommended to all.
Went there for my teams Christmas party this year. The table was nicely set up and the food was nice, although not mind-blowing. As part of the package we were provided with a card each, which were supposed to give us credits to arcade games - but they wouldnt work on all of the games so it was really confusing. Great concept but requires improvements for a smooth and more enjoyable experience!
Apart from ONE rude sweaty bar man, the rest of the staff and venue were amazing. Had so much fun playing the games. Beer selection was also good. Perfect venue for bunch of friends or a date night!
The staff are very helpful. You can now order food and drinks to the table from the website and the arcade games have been updated to accept card payments only.Fastest lap of the night on the moonshine raceway
The Four Thieves is rocking! A most joyous experience for all - The Four Thieves offers arcade games from your childhood in a carefree atmosphere.I was concerned by some of the other reviews I had read prior to arriving at the venue regarding the security staff, however I would suggest they are reasonable and thorough. I will also add to this point, that I arrived 1.5 hours late and the staff could not have been more welcoming, kind and accommodating. The moonshine raceway is great fun, even if your skills on the track are as nonexistent as mine and the commentary from the staff are charming and hilarious.I really enjoyed the critter racing and ice hockey table too.The vegan pizza we ordered had a delectable wood-fired flavour.I had a really fun night and the only thing I can fault is that it was a little noisy in there. But I also think that noise is a symptom of a good night. Would recommend for bachelor parties, work events, dates, or even just a quick drink.
Went Early on a Thursday so not busy at all but very entertaining venue. I really want to go back with a bit more atmosphere. Great place in Clapham Junction.Food- chicken Sandwich was very tasty but very small. Wasn’t worth the £6 sadly.
Went for the comedy night on Wednesday, which is normally really good. Sadly last night not so good, 2 women performers were terrible. 2 male performers were OK, but the compare woman, an American, seemed to think comedy is just talking about the size of mens private parts would be funny, got boring after a while.Otherwise nice place, and normally decent comedy.
The Four Thieves is a pub where you can also play Arcade games, such as foosball, veteran many computer games, hockey, ball games, remote car games which is very fun with friends, and also a Plonk minigolf course as well... Friendly staff, reasonable prices, nice ambience... I definitely suggest if you are looking for fun!
Great pub/bar which has always got a good atmosphere. Perfect to come to when theres a large group of you - Ive come on different occasions with friends and with work colleagues, a bit different to all of you just gathered around a table.Drinks are a pretty standard price for the area, I paid around £8 for a double vodka lime soda.Obviously the upstairs games area is the big draw. You sometimes have to queue if you come late on a Friday or Saturday evening to get upstairs but only for five- ten minutes or so. Loads of different choices for games. They do get a bit expensive, occasionally I only find the racing and the VR worth it as otherwise you can spend a couple of quid on a game which lasts an hour.Always a fun trip!
The food is pretty average but the arcade room is awesome. A really fun night out with a great range of entertainment - theres something for everyone: Street fighter, air hockey, virtual reality, mini racing cars and top golf to name a few. It was super busy on a Friday night as expected but we still got to try most games out - Im sure midweek would be quieter.
Ive been here many many times and I love this place. Great one to have drinks with friends. Fun atmosphere, good music, love the arcade area, fair priced drinks. BUT. I ordered food here recently for the first time. I hated it! Its greasy as hell and tastes disgusting. Never again Im ordering here food. Me and my friend felt sick after eating it. So would recommend to eat before you come here, dont order food at this place!
There was a large group of us so we pre booked and were treated like VIPs!We didnt have to queue, we had someone come and collect us outside, bypassing the very long queue to get in!We were given a long table and we ordered our drinks. The upstairs is amazing, all the games, Tekken on the projector, mini golf, a carnival games, VR and a really cool racing game which accommodates alot of people at one time. Highly recommended for a good night out for all as there is something for everyone.
The menu is entirely misleading, giving you the option of various breakfasts for about £10 OR a £30 unlimited brunch which is supposed to include unlimited toast, spreads, tea, coffee and juice. However for the "unlimited" brunch there was no bread left, no coffee left, no knives, no napkins, no plates for the toast, no no cups and the woman serving our able actually made the birthday girl of our group cry!!! It was truly remarkable. One of our group doesnt drink alcohol as part of his faith, but the waitress refused to allow him to pick someone other than the £30 brunch with unlimited Bucks Fizz - she told him that hes evidently not pregnant and obviously chancing it, ordering him too to pay £30 simply to just keep the peace and ensure our birthday girl enjoyed herself. The woman even came back to us to say "Im sorry that you got confused about the menu earlier" to which I simply had to grit my teeth and avoid a response. They also forgot the birthday girls meal. The bingo as entertainment was okay and did make us laugh, but too loud. Dont do the brunch, the rest of the pub is good.
Great vibe and nice staff. I came here with my work team during Christmas time and the mulled wine was so well made, perhaps the best I’ve had this season! Highly recommend booking a table in advance as it can get pretty crowded. We stayed for the quiz on the Tuesday night which was good fun. We didn’t have time to go up to the arcade room but I’ve heard it’s great. Really convenient location as well, only a 5 min walk from Clapham junction so perfect on a weeknight after work.
Nice local microbrewery with beer piped directly from the glazed brewing room into your glass. Quite comprehensive gaming arcade upstairs though have plenty of cash to enjoy.
