The Foreshore Restaurant & Cafe - Restaurant in Darwin, Australia
Delicious food, great spot for brunch and a relaxing atmosphere looking out over the bike path to the water.
A very nicely situated spot, especially for checking out the sunset. My initial server was lovely but felt a bit uneasy as a solo diner when I only ordered two things when they were delivered, and possibly the most expensive coffee Ive had for a while.Overall it is a really nice spot, and one of the only places around to get a coffee later in the day ☕️
Best breakfast in Darwin. Açai bowl is my fave. Great vibe too. Good views, friendly and quick.
It never disappoints! The food is delicious and amazing! Fresh healthy tasty and beautifully presented! Service is great! Highly recommend 👍
Love this late afternoon relaxation spot – a haven from the humidity with both A/C and shaded, breezy spaces – and one year old Walter B. has become such a huge fan of their baked cheesecake, Im lucky to be able to eat any more than just the biscuit crust.
Location is nice overlooking the beach.Menu = many options!Drinks = fresh juices + much moreService = very fast A+Price = fairFood = I personally enjoy it very much.Overall out of 10 = 8.5/10
This place is great! The service is quick, the food is always great, even the toast! Never disappointed!
Lovely drink, food and view. It really has the vibe.
Sorry the one picture is a little blurry. Went here with a larger gathering, no problem. The outdoor seating and ocean view is amazing.
Perfect poached eggs, good sized delicious meals and amazing ambiance to match. First time here for breakfast and was very happy with everything. Really good coffee too!
I would visit Darwin again for the sole purpose of visiting this venue. The local of Nightcliff dont know how lucky they are - amazing location and reasonably priced beautiful food.
Great coffee, friendly staff, and amazing view. My favorite place in Darwin.
Lovely place staff friendly enjoyed it unfortunately $40 rack of lamb was destroyed overdone and in some greasy crumb ? It sat on mush it sounded promising mushroom spinach tomato pumpkin pure it was stewed Dish idea good execution disastrous Coconut prawns nice scallops very nice better luck next time Sat 6th august
Great food, good coffee and a very nice deck to enjoy! However, just a recommendation for the restaurant that they should provide a better straw for their drinks, especially their shakes.
Compliments to the chef! I visited and had the regular crispy skin barramundi on my first visit. It was prepared perfectly, and the vegetables that accompanied it were as flavoursome as the main event. I came back a week later and there was a special that was another version of the crispy skin barramundi with different veggie sides. Equally to die for. It is nice to eat dishes that are really considered on all fronts - I can tell someone here really cares about flavour and good cooking. I just wish I was staying in Darwin longer to try the rest of the menu! But I will be back. Location is incredible too.
Love the setting, great place. The expansion with the deck is great. Somehow theres still not enough tables on the weekend though and theyve had a "we are under staffed" sign up consistently so staff are not in the happiest state but they are doing what they can, thanks guys! Otherwise a lovely place to go, food and drinks are all delicious.
Somewhere off the usual Darwin tourist trail with great food and views over the water.
Awesome place, good food. Would be 5 stars if not for the massive slow line every time, 20 min to order
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food. Its Darwins best kept secret with a lot of options to eat from.. and the Ice Creams.. always great.. they also have amazing cakes for desserts..New addition of outdoor sitting area makes it even better for cooler Dry Season..
I had the beef ribs and it was perfect. great friendly staff and the view of nightcliff was great. I will definitely go there again.
Good catch-up with friend for coffee, we hadnt seen eachother in over 18 months. Met at 4.15 pm... left at 7.30 pm. Just coffee, would have eaten there but we didnt intend to stay so long and both of us had something prepared for dinner at our respective homes but lots of others eating there seemed happy with their meals and Ive eaten there before and the foods been good. Good variety on menue. Had our coffee outside, al fresco style, amidst the Casuarina Coastal Reserve chatting long enough to watch the sunset over the Arafura Sea. Wasnt crowded at particular time but was well patronised throughout the time we were there. And allows dogs outside, on a leash of course, and caters for them with water bowls. One of my favourite cafes in Darwin.
I came here for the first time and the food was incredible! I will admit, it is a little pricey for its portion size, BUT the quality is incredibly worth it. I had the seafood plate and my partner had the bbq rib. The meat was so tender and fell off the bone. The seafood was cooked amazingly and the squid had such incredible flavour, it reminded me so much of Greece. The fruit frappes are so delicious and my ice chai was full of flavour. The icecream was great quality too. I will be coming back!
My new favourite cafe in Darwin.Jess was Very helpful and patient while my partner and I deliberated over what to orderMy partner and I shared our meals she ordering the beef salad and I the chicken salad. For drinks we ordered the daily specials juices.A really tasty pair of meals.Well done chefs 👍The other waiting staff were like Jess equally awesome the young blonde lady showing great initiative and a customer focussed nature in providing us with a spare glass to assist us in sharing our iced chocolate, good on her, much appreciated.👍The Indonesian lady doing an outstanding job of clearing the tables and wiping them down ready for the next potential customer in a timely manner definitely adds to the dining experience when you get to enjoy your meal in clean well kept surroundings 👍I highly recommend The Foreshore Cafe.
Great food, great service (with a smile). Our drinks were served within 10min of placing our order and we didn’t have to wait much longer for our meals. Very accommodating as we were able to change to dairy free for a few different meals.
Could not have been more impressed. Went with the fam on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. Food all round was amazing, especially the lamb rack. Great cocktails, friendly service and really good live tunes. The new deck is a fantastic addition. They put on a nice sunset too! Will be back soon for sure.
Great location for a meal and a cool drink overlooking the water. Very good food and service. Excellent spot to watch the sun set over the ocean whilst dining. Great spot good food and great views.
Grabbed a picnic rug (providedand sat and had fish and chips soaking in the music and atmosphere. Food was tasty and experience laid back - just what we needed!
Went for dinner with friends, very busy which is always a good sign, unfortunately meals came out and part of mine was cold ( I think it had been cooked first and sat on the pass waiting for the others to be completedcomplained as we had been waiting for a while. Luckily I kept the fish to eat as it took them half an hour to rectify, and that was only after they were reminded. Live music was good, but very loud, it was hard to have a conversation without shouting.
Went for dinner and a drink and were quite impressed. I had the Beef Ribs which were probably the most tender meat Ive ever eaten. The Mango Daiquiri was delicious. There is inside and outside dining with a view of the sunset.Highly recommend trying this place.
Recent renovations have greatly expanded the seating area but sacrificed the grassed area out the front that was awesome to throw down a picnic blanket. The food and coffee have always been consistently good, however youll need to pick your times as it gets incredibly busy and you might have to chase the staff to see where youre order is.The views and proximity to the pool trump the occassion rudeness from the ownerWeve tried booking ahead in the past but have never received a reply back.Overall, Id recommend this spot, just be prepared to enjoy the view while you wait.
Great service. Our food took it’s sweet time to arrive, though 😐. It was worth it, as the food was delicious and waiters were very kind. Recommended!
Booked for 4 people in the afternoon and specified we’d bring our dog. We were told that was ok and we will be allocated a table outsider in between 2 trees was the description and will be shaded.Went there on time and a staff, I mentioned the booking and pointed a table with 2 seats on direct sunlight and no where near the 2 trees. I said I booked and specified a shaded space and he said they can’t control the customers and there’s no way I will seat there and Nader the sun. He said they can’t control who sits outside.Another staff came over (he overheard my discussion with the staffand he said he’d sort us out, and asked a group who were seating on our table without booking to leave.Food was ok, nothing special, flies everywhere, the tables were by the parking space and by the kerb.I understand the place is renovating the front of the restaurant and they’re accommodating customers with dogs. But maybe put some extra parasols for good shades and maybe something to control the flies within the restaurant vicinity. To be told by the male staff that they can’t control the customers seating outside and quite ok for him to point us and our dog on direct sunlight and heat, and without any shade or protection without any concern for our safety soured our experience.
I like the indoor /outdoor space ,relaxed atmosphere .The outdoor space lets you spred out. Hole in the wall if you want to grab a coffee ,quick service, friendly staff, nice meals.
Such a cool breezy place to go and enjoy the food. Went there for a coffee and a fruit tarte and was really delicious and highly recommend this Restaurant. Heaps of parking spaces available and you can enjoy the sunset as well as enjoy the songs there.
Lovely quiet location beside the ocean. The food was delicious with the service unassumingly excellent. Thoroughly recommend!
Offers a "Vegan" Bruschetta option for $16. Bruchetta is typically overpriced, but when it looks like this, its an insult and shows lack of care for what they are serving.
Delicious brunch menu as well as their coffee. Atmosphere was splendid although it was weekends. Open ocean view at front, good outdoor seating if you preferred sunset view. Also, takeaways had dedicated window for that, if you’d prefer to.
Always a good place to enjoy coffee, food and sea views.
Great place right by the sea. Had a delicious lunch in the outside dining area. Good portion size, prices are very reasonable.
One of the best seafood platters I’ve ever had. Acai and drink also fantastic! You also get this amazing sunset! 5 out of 5!
Great location, food and coffee! Prices are decent. Half the seating is outside but you get a beautiful sea breeze. The staff are very friendly. The menu selection is good, plenty of options. You just can’t beat these views!
Location is amazing for a perfect Darwin sunset. Live music fri - sun 6-9pm. Friendly staff. Outdoor dining and relaxed seating. A little too much onion on my grazing platter. Otherwise highly recommend
This place is honestly the only reason I haven’t left Darwin. The food is outstanding and innovative, the coffee is better than anywhere, on par with laneway but otherwise unparalleled. Great location, gorgeous minimalist interior, wonderful service. If you haven’t been here you need to start your new life, revolving around this speck of wonder in the desolate wasteland of Darwin’s cafes.
Overall really impressed.Good food and presented well. I had the sweet potato and rosemary fritters with beetroot hommus which contrasted colour beautifully and tasted really good. Friends said the brioche bun was a little stale, but it was still presented really well, as well. Also my iced coffee had a chocolate wafer around the straw which I was also impressed by.
Nice restaurant, great location on the Nightcliff coast overlooking the entrance to Darwin harbour and the sea.Lovely range of all-day meals with friendly and helpfull staff, excellent coffee....... well done
Perfect setting on the beach front. Scenery was amazing service was excellent. The coffee I had wasnt that great. I ordered the espresso protein shake and found it didnt taste much like anything with a huge lump of banana. Service and scenery awesome, coffee not the greatest in my experience.
Bus no.4 to casuarina, walk from nightcliff bus stop on Aralia street. Great view, big portions, coffee a little strong flavoured. Service efficient but as expected. Nice stroll along the park, pool right opposite. Kids and dog friendly. Unless you have a car, best left for locals.
What a great little spot. Right down on the water, heaps of parking and a range of outdoor and indoor seating. Table service would really set this place off. I had some of the Cartel Cold brew coffee which was fantastic
Stunning cafe with awsome views, great staff and excellent food. Just be advised that there is a take away counter and eat in counter - ordering from the eat in counter is 20 cents per menu item more expensive than ordering from the main counter. This is on top of already high prices
Best meal i have had this trip, meals presented had a lot of flavour, light and filling. Feel satisfied without over eating. Absolutly delicious! Reasonably priced too.
