Traditional neighbourhood boozer showing sport on plasma screens, with darts, pool and a pub menu.
Dont come here if youre an American. They were so rude and gave my husband an 1/8 inch pour with ice. They acted like they didnt know what a lemon drop was and when I ordered a vodka soda instead there was no alcohol in it. Zero stars.
Chloe, Delia and Ellie made me very welcome, fed me, sorted a decent beer and some good company. Great to know pubs like this still exist in London. Ellie make sure you travel, Delia your name isnt very Swiss but you are a sweetheart. Chloe keep smiling, its a great smile.
Nice beer no food
Proper pub good choice of beers.
If you are on a budget and without a permanent accommodation in London then think of this place , they offer good service and lovely rooms at different price to suit your pocket at great location. I got hostel at £15 and my stay was very interesting, I didn’t feel I was in an hostel sharing room with other strangers as there is enough privacy and they put in nice rules that helps
Great range of beers. Standing area outside and a small area of seating indoors. There is another floor but didnt get a chance to see
Good small place. Very busy usually on a Friday evening. Friendly personel and reasonably priced.
Friendly staff and fair prices for Central London. (Changed my 1 star after Alejandro left)
Nice pub .. air con working fine .. Good selection of beers . Nice friendly staff .. sport on tvs if thats for you.. Whats not to like ?
Nice backstreet pub with plenty of screens to view F1/sport etc. Nice range of beers. Casks kept well.However. Having specifically walked here we were disappointed to find no food available on a Saturday lunchtime even though their website showed it as such. Had to use the Greene King pub down the road to eat. We did return however to view the F1. Would visit again, hopefully with food next time.
Quick service for drinks, but toilets are always filthy.
Great venue to visit after a stressful day at work. Definitely one of my favs in the area. Delicious pizza and a good range of ales. I do like the return of the live music, which makes it even better place to spend the evening. Always friendly and super nice staff. Except yesterday, when we were refused to be served by Alejandro, no explanation followed..We didn’t want to ruin our evening and argue so we simply moved to the Red Lion and spend couple more hours there. I’ve known a lot of good managers there but this is the first time I left the pub with a sour feelings. Sad to see how one person can ruin the years of positive experience. Please take some action. I want to visit my favourite pub and spend quality time.
Big pub with food and drinks at reasonable prices. Tucked away behind Liverpool Street Station so tends to be a little less busy than others in the area.
Relatively tiny inside, but great on the pavement spots to have a drink.
This is our go to place after work. Great bar staff. And good live music.
Great service. Great choice of drinks. Super pizza.
Great English pub , good service and excellent ales served well.
This is a great choice, not many cask beers but the ones they have are well kept. Busy around 1 but OK. Definitely be back and try their lunch menu.
One of my fav place to hang out.. watch game and good food..
enjoyed a return visit to my favourite pub of 1974-75 :-)
Always sells a good selection of real ales, in perfect condition, ideal after a day in the office!!
Excellent venue for many different darts games. Great fun. Staff very good and friendly.
Its an absolutely lovely venue, with a cosy feel. The range of beers is great, with IPAs, APAs and all the usuals too; something for everyone. The food menu is quite typical of a regular pub, but the execution is fantastic; real lip-smacking flavours. They show live sports and occasionally have live music too if you are up for a sing-a-long. The greatest asset though has to be the staff. So welcoming and helpful, you feel genuinely looked after. Ill be returning regularly now Ive realised just how close it is to my office!
Always a nice atmosphere and they always start pouring my drink as I walk through the door 😎
Friendly staff as well as clean toilets, what else!?Started after hoopla, improv in the weekday evenings.Selection of drinks and ales in a Old fashioned pub, area near moorgate station.
Brilliant staff think the girl is called Ellie. Keep up the good work and thank you. Kind regards the happy geordie 👍
Very miserable staff they hardly smile specially when you are there and spending money. Nice pub but moody staff. Please hire some friendly staff also someone with good manners
Loved my stay there, was in the hostel aswell. Great food, good company and in total recommend anyone planning to stay there, pillows werent big enough for my preference but everything else was pretty awesome.
Friendly bar staff, very attentive! They gave us great tips for things to do in London. Big screens for watching sports.
A quick visit for refreshment during a busy day. The pub is quite small but it wasnt too crowded and there are plenty of tables to sit at. Inside decor is charming and theres a lovely feature fireplace.
Love the place, was first day back in the office in nearly two years so we did team drinks and this worked out well. Good to see expanded food menu.
Perfectly decent middle of the road city pub. Beers were fine, staff were fine!. Any worse places to have a drink in the city. Same prices youd expect in the area and enough space to drink outside given covid.
A delightful traditional London street corner pub with modern twists including multiple screens showing sports (cricket during my visit). A good choice of beers, both cask and keg along with a wide offering of wines and spirits. Rooms also available. Service was quick an efficient. The staff are lovely and happy. A short but most enjoyable visit.
Loved this place!! Friendly and welcoming staff. Great beer and wonderful live music 🎶 🎵 Excellent atmosphere!! Definitely recommend a visit. Im sure Ill pop in again.
First time ordering at the bar in 18 months! Fine selection, good spot for a few post work brews, nice to hear live music going again too.
Great place to have an after work pint. Have been frequenting this pub for 2 years and post covid its still as good as it was. I was served by both Ellie, and Martina, who were excellent and went above and beyond for me. Will be coming back as often as I am in the area.
I really love this pub! There are tables outside and inside, a lovely staff and good selection of drinks and beer!! Try this place out and you wont be disappointed.
At least 2 screens visable from each table. Able to have multiple sports showing. Very good burgers served too. Great sports pub so will be watching big (and littlematches there again.
Great place for drinks after work as well as watching sports. Great pub food, we love the salami spicy pizza. Really nice and friendly staff. We also love the decoration for the Euros with the name of the main players all around. Will come back for sure!!!!
Great pub a short walk from Liverpool Street Station. Old fashioned boozer rather than trendy. Good select of beers. It was not crowded when I was in between 6 oclock and 8 oclock on a Wednesday evening. I did not try the food.
Lovely traditional pub in the heart of east london, good range of drinks and the staff are so friendly! Yummy stone baked pizza! 2 for 1 pizza and cocktails during the week, great value for money! Will definitely visit again!
This is a wonderful pub ! Great beer, served by really friendly people. Tasty pub food cooked by Lucius, and you can even sleep here. In a location to explore Old London.
Absolutely in love with this traditional pub! You cant often see pubs like that anymore in London, so if you are looking for a REAL traditional pub definitely - this is the best spot. They have huge range of craft beers and wine selection better than some wine bars. Highly recommended.
Fine for a quick pint after a meeting nearby, very reasonable prices for central London and reasonable selection of beers. We also had a pizza that was lovely. Not the biggest place, with limited tables and chairs, but I would go back if I found myself in the area again.
Very friendly staff and lots of beer options. One of the only pubs thats open all year (due to hostel upstairs).Breakfast starts at 07:00 (for hostel guests), but also available for non-guests for £3.
The photo is from my window in the hostel, I like the stay there very much, the staff was very nice, the bar is impressive, generally the place very welcoming.
Quiet little pub in the city. Small and comfortable interior. Typically old style pub indoors. It can get a little busy, its popular amongst the workers in the are who want a quiet drink. Youre able to spill onto the pavement. This place does serve food, but did not look at the menu.
Pretty decent pub. Decent selection of drinks. Friendly staff. Loses one star for the clientele on this particular night. Staff couldve asked them to pipe down. But I guess they were having a good time and who are we to stop that. All in all recommended. Its also difficult to find a classic pub in the area. So yeah...thumbs up.
Great pub that is shared with the city workers and the people staying in the hostel above it. I am a city worker and like the diverse crowd the place attracts although some nights it is just full of suited and booted city folk. The sports is always on and we joke about this place being pub of the year. I think its a strong contender!
Four stars! Nice lively pub with with a finance crowd. Good ale selection and good service. When they rang the bell a small mouse came out to clean the floor.
