Lounge bar with a garden and a traditional pub menu served amid rough-hewn beams and exposed brick.
Went here today for for a roast. The potatoes were good. Cameron was better, a truly exceptional waiter with a real sunny disposition.
Brilliant as always. Food is just delicious, have had a Trio roast, highly recommend. Big thanks to Cameron who gave us recommendations and taken provided a 5 stars service
Love this pub, great service but yesterday we waited for over an hour for our roasts and then the portions were tiny. For £19 expect more than 2 potatoes and very little meat etc… will be back for drinks but not food.
Had a table booked in the restaurant section for yesterday early evening. We sat down and nobody came over to give us menus for 15 minutes until 1 of our party asked for them. We were then given the menus, however once we had chosen our food, it took asking a waiter to come over twice to give our order (first time he came over, then said hed check what was available Roast wise, left and didnt return). Upon returning the waiter informed us that they had 3 items available, vegan roast, fish and chips and watermelon salad from a menu of approx 20 or more items (including a Oktoberfest special menu which they had nothing available from).Considering we had booked a table online for dinner, it was unquestionably the worst service/experience I have had in a long time. The fact a restaurant table booking was accepted for the evening, but they didnt contact us to cancel the booking knowing they would not be able to provide a choice of food was astounding.Would absolutely not recommend coming here for food as a result.
Great pub, good selection of beers! Gorgeous garden amazing for those warm days.
Came here for a meal and wasn’t disappointed, Food was amazing, staff were friendly and overall a lovely meal. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Beautiful pub, amazing food, great night out with friends. Cant wait to return for more good times.
Lovely staff... food was delicious and the staff were so friendly... the atmosphere was also very good... such a lovely experience
Visited last Sunday and had the BEST roast beef I’ve had in such a long time. All the staff were super friendly & had great banter, great local pub will definitely be back.
A popular pub and crowded on Sundays. Good selection of wines and beers on tap including some local brews. Staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly with all customers.Food can be much improved. Chicken springroll, though sizable, was dry and flavourless. Same goes for the Sunday roast with really dry chicken and gristly beef. Gravy also needed more seasoning. The salmon fishcake was OK, perhaps needed a bit more tartar sauce. Some of the semphire was woody and tough. The rest of the menu looked interesting and perhaps there could be better items we should have ordered.
What a gorgeous pub!! Lovely selection of beers and really tasty fish and chips.. honestly massive helping of fish!
Beautiful Space inside, and delicioso food, I had a scotch egg and my husband had a Burger, it was all sublime! Thank you!!
The service was great and all team were all friendly and enthusiastic. Really good food and extensive drinks selection. Have been many times and will be back soon again!
Very unimpressed with the burger and fries. It was small and the key word to describe the food was DRY. The bun was dry, the burger was dry not at all juicy. It wasn’t hot, barely warm. I can’t remember anything in the way of garnish. Fries on the side were in a very small container. I’m a slow eater and I was finished in minutes. Very uninspiring meal. Cost was 12-15 quid can’t remember, but unfortunately I Will remember a bad burger. How can a burger experience be so difficult to get right? Lack of effort….Staff friendlyCouldn’t pay by cash
Really lovely service from the team, and great food, i had the burger, very delicious. will definitely visit again soon!
Great selection beers and the food was spot on too, the bar staff were lovely and accommodated to all our needs!
Had a really great evening here with my friends! Food was delicious, good selection of beers on tap and staff were fab. Would defo recommend, will be coming back soon!
Excellent experience! Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and amazing food. Staff is really friendly and helpful.
Great pub with nice outdoor space. Good selection of beers and food👍 Had amazing time there with my friends highly recommend 👏
This is a very nice pub in Herne Hill, at the moment they have a happy hour deal for cocktails which is good value. We have been served by Jenny a few times who is very helpful. Food is always delicious as well!
Visited a few times now and absolutely love it! Great location gorgeous inside and great service. I have allergies but Jenny was really accommodating and made sure we had a great time! Will definitely be back
The Florence has quickly become a favourite hang out spot of ours. The servers are very friendly. Jenny was phenomenal!
Lovely pub and the staff were very welcoming! I was greeted by a lady who I think was called Jenny and she helped me out with any questions and recommendations that I needed. Would recommend :)
Good pub in a good location. Highly recommend trying their Wing Wednesday deal. We spoke to Jenny at the bar who was very friendly:)
A really lovely pub that weve overlooked for too long. Good food and sweet friendly staff and a beer garden!!! Look forward to returning soon.
Had our first happy hour there last Monday and we were served by Begonia… All I can write is MERCI, everything was great, THANK YOU!
Well, it was quite good,I liked an interiorBut the food was just okay
Managed to get in for the Flo Fest last Saturday, absolutely incredible experience. The massive beer garden had a Jubel Peach Beer pop up bar (one of my favourites and it’s on the main bar too). The two Sams were fantastic on the bar and the DJ sets were brilliant, can’t wait for their next festival!
Went in a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was really nice and the staff was lovely. The pub was not very busy and it had a lovely garden out the back. Sam and Sam gave me great recommendations.
Ive been here a few times. I even left a review from my other account the last time I was here, but I feel like things have improved a lot since then and I feel like its time to post another one. I came here on Thursday and got recommended a neckoil, had not tried it before, however I was given a taster and I loved it. Later on I tried something different and was offered the 2 for 12 deal that they do on Monday till Thursday. It is on selected cocktails, however it is really nice. I was told that they do not really do them as it is not on the menu, however Sami told ne he can make me one. I saw Anna there as well, she did a great job at giving my food. I received cutlery and sauces, even got offered a desert. It was a lovely evening out and I had a vreat time. I hope both Sami and Anna getrewarded for working so hard and making my evening wonderfull.- Moshi.
Had the best day ever. Wee sam helped me chose a drink out of the wide range of options. Great recommendations and amazing food, was served quickly and had a great time. This is the first pub Ive been to, so thanks for making it special yo!
Sensational pub with lovely garden, great staff, amazing cocktails at two for just £12. Came in very happy, left even happier.
Great vibe, good for groups as there is a spacious outside area. Wide variety of beers on tap and lovely nibbles on the menu.
The florence is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, serving a great selection of food and drinks with amazingly friendly staff! We came here the other day and got chatting to Marla who was extremely patient when we were choosing which wine to have and even recommended some places to visit in the area as we are not local and were stuck for some things to do. Great vibes all round cant recommend enough.
Amazing outdoor space, great food and delightful service. Very accommodating and considerate waitress - made all the difference 🌷. Look forward to our next dinner at the Florence.
This is a great little eatery. The drinks are superb I didnt try the food but what came out of the kitchen looked deliciousA good place to eat and drink with your friends or just chill on your own.
One of the best Sunday roasts in London! Great service from Sam too! Will definitely be back soon!
Came in on my day off and was served by Samuil and Anna, had a great time with lots of good recommendations for food and drinks. Also the beer garden is a massive plus, definitely somewhere to head to if youre near Brockwell Park.
I had such a lovely meal at the Florence. What really made it for me was the service. Bego dealt with picky children with grace and tact and really made out family lunch something special Will definitely return. Thanks Bego!
Beautiful pub with a lovely outside garden. Friendly staff and great food! Found it by sheer coincidence but will definitely be coming back!
Lovely staff, everything else was disappointing. The sirloin steak was visibly rump, the flank and short rib burgers tasted like massively over cooked frozen beef patties, and it took over an hour. Kind bartender gave us some free drinks for the trouble - seemed understaffed and poorly managed
Actually a decent pub but the service is dreadful so giving 1 star to average their score down and make them aware that it ruins the experience of this pub. Completely ponderous bar staff. Would definitely think twice before returning.
I was really unimpressed. Three of us ordered the burger, which was no better than a big mac but triple the price. One of us thought it worth shelling out £25 for a sirloin steak; what came out was rump, what a mug! We waited an hour to get it. Do not eat here.
One of my locals, great beer garden. Usually coming there on week days, but today we came for Sunday roast. We didn’t have a booking, but lovely host Ana managed to squeeze us in the garden, even though they looked pretty booked up. Our table was little bit wobbly, but our Sunday beef roast made up for it as well as great service provide by Taga. Thanks guys for accommodating us!
I would of happily given 5 stars but the manager Anna really ruined our time at the Florence. Her attitude and manner was out right rude and unprofessional from the get go.I would however like to say first that the waiting staff Marla and Max, who looked after us were lovely and professional and would like to leave a 5 star review to them for excellent service. When we arrived we were met by Ana. there was no smile or pleasant ‘hello how can I help?’ as you’d expect in a service establishment. Instead it was a straight faced ‘hi’ looking at us as if we were some how inconveniencing her when we had pre booked a table. All of the waiting staff we encountered were so friendly and nice, making our Sunday roast so enjoyable but there were several moments throughout where we could see and hear the manager Anna talking loudly, rudely and berating her colleagues and it was really awkward and uncomfortable to be around while eating. We were seated right by the kitchen so it was very clear to see what was going on.I had my toddler son with me needed and to use the baby changing room which required a key. As the manager passed our table I asked her for the key while holding my son. She dismissed me so quickly with a look of disdain saying ‘there’s one in the woman’s toilet’ in such a rude and abrupt way. The womens toilet is very small and hard to change a wriggling toddler in, plus it was a very busy Sunday with people walking in and out so I would rather change a messy nappy in the privacy of a baby changing room otherwise what is the point of having one?I understand that working in the service industry can be very stressful especially on busy day (I have previously worked in this industry), but when you work in a customer facing role there is a polite way to say things and a pleasant way to behave so your customers don’t feel uncomfortable in your presence. We felt so uncomfortable we cancelled our desert order and left early. The lovely staff who served us could see we felt uncomfortable and apologised and discounted our bill. I’m not sure if the manager was aware of how she ruined our time but she didn’t make it known and she didn’t apologise or say anything to us. It’s a shame her bad service has let down everyone else working there who is genuinely nice and doing a good job. I would expect more from a manager.
Very busy when we visited on Sunday afternoon. They seemed short staffed however they were all working hard and making the best of the situation. We did wait an hour for our food however when it did come, it was delicious. Highly recommend the trio roast - Definitely one of the better pub roasts in the area.Pints are reasonably priced and great for taking dogs & families.
We booked for lunch on bank holiday Monday, they said they were serving their Sunday menu so we ended up getting roasts which were delicious, great size portions. Service was really friendly and timely. The garden out the back was so pretty and well sheltered for those windier days! All round a lovely lunch, will be back for sure.
Sunday roast was amazing! Options for veggies/vegans. Lovely drink selection too.
Great Sunday roast, had the chicken breast and it was delicious. Good music too and great vegan options. Only 4 stars because the bar service was slow and the beer they brew not great, luckily I managed to exchange it for a regular ale.
Ive been here a few times now, and Im always happy with the experience. I came out of Brixton tube needing to feed 2 small children at 7.30pm on Saturday and had a strong suspicion that this would be one of very few local options that would still be family friendly.Sure enough, there were at least 2 other families in the same boat as us. Burgers were REALLY good and the service was friendly and efficient. I was even more impressed because the pub was also accommodating grown-up meals, dates, friends having a drink and a chat, and people watching live sport on telly...and making it look seamless.Next time Im in the area and hungry, it WILL be The Florence. Good food, good selection of drinks, nice crowd.Pro Tip: Watch your step when leaving - LITERALLY. When you come through the front door, you step onto a half step before stepping onto the pavement. Its very easy to roll your ankle if youve not paying attention.
