The English Football Pub - Gastropub in Milano, Italy
Great venue to watch Premier League football.
Great pints and tasty cabbage
Great burgers, and a nice-looking pub but some staff members are not so friendly to tourists.
Best drinking establishment in Milan
Slightly expensive pints, other than that. Spot on
Terrible staff, but they show the Italian GP
Good food, good service, a nice touch of home whilst we were away.Just a little dark inside, could do with some brighter lightbulbs 😂❤️
“Too busy” to let people in. More than enough room and man was rejecting many fans in.
I arrived on Saturday at 14:00 to watch the early kickoff in the Premier League, but the place was closed despite the fact that it says its open from 12pm. Ridiculous carry on from a place that advertises itself as an "English Football" pub.
Good prices for beers considering in the middle of Milan. Lots of screens to watch the football.
Okay place. Service quite slow. Good selection of beers. Bit pricey.
Nice pub. Not far from Milan centre. Beer was especially nice after a long hard day.
Great atmosphere, prices are good and friendly staff.
Nice place. it seems to be in the UK in some rando, ordinary pub
Veggie burger was not too nice but ok. Good atmosphere
Taps and lines arent great. Kegs sit in the heat. Also not great. Peroni out of a bottle is good! Do yourself a goodun, and skip the pint. Could not be great.
The football pub is near Duomo, but its.not a touristic place. Its a place where you can drink a good beer (like a Guinnessand eat an amazing hamburger and French fries. The atmosphere and the vibes are extremely good. Best place for a meeting after work with friends or to spend a different night. They also put good music 🎶
Nice place to grab a beer! A lot a different beers to choose from. Definitely a place to visit.
Nice bar, good Guinness.
Very great pub to watch football games !Prices are very attractives for this kind of pub.
don’t expect to come watch english football if milan is playing on the same day. completely understand that we are in milan and it was a popular day for football, but this place is named the “english football pub”
What a fab place, they had the FA Cup final on when I went and there was such a good atmosphere, the food and drink was very good and price really good considering uou are in the centre of Milan. The bar staff were very friendly and I even managed to practice my Italian! Dont worry folks their Engish was perfect! Deffo would go again when Im back in Milan, all the best Giovanni
If you are, like we were, English people in Milan expecting to be able to go to this pub and maybe watch a football match… don’t bother. We walked a mile to get here to try and watch the FA cup final today. Outside were a group of liverpool fans talking about how they were turned down from the bar. We go to enter and are refused entry, they said “ you cannot enter unless you are Italian” a bit confusing and frustrating really and should probably be clarified somewhere
Ok, lets start with the positives! The English league football memorabilia and collection of framed shirts is impressive in the sense of how random is seems to be. I mean they had a framed Dag & Red scarf in there, love it! Additionally, the shrine to both Milan clubs, which also matches the side of the stadiums they sit on is well thought out and presented. The menu item names are very fun, and it was the only location on my 10 day trip around Italy that had Neck Oil on tap. However, it was also not only the worst food I experienced on my 10 day trip in Italy, it was also the worst meal I can remember ever being served as an adult.I was getting a bit homesick and really fancied an English Breakfast the day we visited this place. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest insult to a traditional English breakfast I have ever witnessed. The bacon was cheap and mostly fat, the “scrambled egg” was a reheated burnt omelette, the sausage I wouldnt even feed to my dog, and the beans… the easiest part, just open a Heize can, were absolutely vile. Appeared to maybe be “homemade”, however sat in more of an oil, than an actual sauce, and tasted horrible. The side toast was also burnt, and a side of wedges tasted of disinfectant, in the same way that the glasses smelt.Another major issue with this place however is it’s vibe. It’s very dark, very dusty & stuffy, and the waiter who I would guess may also be the owner just seemed to lack any kind of care of enthusiasm for the business and felt very unapproachable. I can only assume it is also due to people having similar experiences to us locally, and never coming back, hence why we were the only people there. This place has serious potential in that it appears to be the only UK food spot in Milan! However, it needs an injection of life, a decor update, and good clean, and a new chef, otherwise it’ll be gone before too long.Forgot to also add that we were charged €4,50 for a Sprite that would otherwise cost 70 cents, disgraceful!
A beautiful place to enjoy a cold beer, or a tasty hamburger, or a football match, or all of those together!
Excellent beer. good food . Very nice staff. Nice place to stop. A recommended place to watch a football game.
Went in there for a few beers with the boys... wasnt welcoming at all, beer average at best, made the best of our day moved on....Didnt evan take a photo
Great pub. Loads of football memorabilia, both British and Italian, several TVs (when we went in, there was Italian and English football on, plus golf). This place sells cider too.
Amazing pub in the heart of Milan, the staff is Italian and speak English perfectly, they are very helpful and amazingly nice , you must try the Pizza and their drinks. A must go when visiting Milan
Many years has passed since this English style pub opened in Milano.Busy ambient during football evenings.International set
An authentic pub atmosphere.Premier League games, serie A, Champions League, quality beers and variety of snacks.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and many screens to watch many matches.
Went here with family of five and really enjoyed it. The family liked the food and the beer on tap was varied and plentiful. The service was good, no table service outside during the day but every time we ordered at the bar there was no line. The staff was very friendly, and the price was very reasonable considering it isn’t far from the Duomo. The tables outside were set back from the main thoroughfare and not crowded.
Bad service! First drink is 7€! A shame! Low Quality tv! Only thé atmosphere was Nice. Bad experience!
Tables and chairs werent perfectly arranged but, it was ok to watch Premier League or other football games. Staff was ok too. After so many bars and restaurants visited, finally found someone who can speak English. There were a lot of drinks available and food was served too. There are tables outside but, you cant watch the games if you sit outside. Bigger TVs and table arrangements would be better.Overall it was nice experience and I would recommend for watching football games and having drinking.
Fantastic pub in Milan. The beer selection is awesome and from all over Europe. The atmosphere is also great with a friendly staff. A couple years ago before the pandemic of course I saw it totally packed to the brim with fans watching a Chelsea-Arsenal match. That was also a fantastic atmosphere. So just an all round great pub. I dont come to Milan very often but whenever I do, I grab a beer here.
I went to this pub to relax and drink some Italian beer and watch some FA Cup football. There seemed to be only one guy working at the bar and he completely ignored me despite my obvious presence right in front of him. He was busy with something but after 3 minutes of waiting in the same position, I left the bar. Perhaps it was for the best, as they were showing a lowly Serie A match (no offense to fans of lesser Italian teams, and dont forget the name of the bar is English Football). I think I was generous - if someone is ignored for more than a minute, they have every right to leave the place.Edit: I see the owner has responded below. Thank you for the clarification. Unfortunately, I do not understand Italian so it seems I have misunderstood. Regarding the football matches, is it not possible to stream different matches at once since you have many screens?
Nice, middle sized & neat pub with some good burgers and a very good choice of beers. Prices are good in comparison to location.A whole lot of TVs for sport events.
Loved the team husband and wife ❤️ and lived the Portuguese team very friendly nice great fun game place
Great place to watch footie with like minded fans
A place which has so much potential but doesn’t live up to it. Sometimes the staff are friendly sometimes they can’t be arsed. It’s a big venue with quite a few screens but it’s just terribly organised! The layout could be better to make it easier for the large crowds to watch the match it’s usually just a free for all mess which could fit more people comfortably, the tables and chairs need a revamp. The screens are also always terrible quality even when in HD which is such a shame. They never turn up the sound either so you lose the atmosphere sometimes. It takes forever to get served and they don’t try to go any faster on more popular days which doesn’t make sense. The food is ok and a reasonable price although they cook with so much salt to leave you needing another drink. Milan is crying out for a world class sports bar and this could be it if they invested money and care into the place but I don’t think it will ever happen.
Was disappointed. The staff was just hanging around, couldnt find a place to sit because half the tables had leftovers from the previous people sitting there. Not a large selection of drinks. I wouldnt recommend unless you were standing right beside it.
Lovely authentic English pub in the heart of Milan. Reasonable prices with nice beers and good pub grub. The only negative is the opening times, it shouldnt be listed as open until 2am on a weekend if it isnt. We got asked to leave at midnight as they were closing despite it us being a group of 8 with all half full beers. Felt unfriendly and we had to rush. Happened a second time when we tried to go in around midnight for a pint- once again got told they were closing. Other nights we have stayed there until 2am so there needs to be consistency or at least advertise at the bar saying: closing at 12 tonight. Also the evening bar guy could be friendlier!
A traditional pub mostly populated by Milanesi and British Milanesi
A selection of beers and a no nonsense pub. Have been here a few times and will go back. Decent menu with sandwiches, pizzas and the like. Chips are very good and staff are friendly.
Also known as the gate of hell, one of the most unpredictable and enjoyable pub in town! Strongly recommended. The bartenders are amazing, the local bunch of fellas always in the corner by the counter are wierd but funny and welcoming! One of them is called Yoda, he seems to be ruling them all!
Definitely a pub with good beer and great food. After a year in the US, this is one of the best burger I have ever had here in Italy.Honestly, I cannot believe that such an authentic pub is so close to the Dome, in downtown Milan. What a place!
Good for live football, they show all the games. Its not a very nice pub though and the drinks are pretty pricey so Id probably recommend you find a nicer place if you can. Make this your last resort if you cant find the football anywhere else.
One of my favourite parts of my trip to Milan. A lovely pub with loads of beer choices, football memorabilia and most importantly the footy on the telly. They accommodated for 2 different games and there was a great atmosphere.
As it says. Caught the Spurs v Sunderland match here. Got busy as there was Inter v Juve also on that afternoon but not overcrowded. Pizzas pretty good. Guinness not bad. Great location. Happy I found it.
