once inside the passport renewal was pretty quick... Odd, but there are no special considerations for US Citizens vs Ukraine Nationals.. I had an appt but made to wait outside with everyone else on a heavy snow day. I waited for an hour ... so dont show up early

Professional, efficient, and always accommodating, American Citizen Services at the Embassy is consistent and excellent. Thats no small trick during this current Covid crisis.If theres any criticism to be offered, its that its not located in the most accessible part of Kyiv. Still, a 20-minute taxi ride is a small price to pay for a facility, personnel, and service this dependable.For all the reasons listed above, the U.S. Embassy does the nation proud--never a bad thing.

I am a citizen and it was horrible. Besides the wait, even though I was a half hour early, and the bureaucratic red tape, they were also nosey and violated my civil rights. If in the USA I would file a lawsuit, but its Ukraine.

Shame on you. Denied a visitor visa for my niece who is orphan. Not enough ties with Ukraine. Both her parents passed away. What ties she can have at 14 years old in this situation ??? !!!Rejected second time. I hope karma gets you....

We had an early appointment and it went very smoothly. After a twenty minute wait, my fiancee was sceen. The Ukrainian lady that helped After her was very kind and helped her sort her documents. Then we waited about twenty more minutes and the officer called us to the interview window. After several minutes and questions (very professional). We were approved!! For those of you who are familiar with the K1 Visa process, this was our easiest step. Thank you Visatutor, Prem!👍👍👍👍👍

Contacted this Embassy after a mugging in Kyiv. Sustained three skull fractures, a hemmorrhage , two intra cranial hematomas, and did a police report.Embassy ACS staff wouldnt give me the time of day.Very cursory. No help.Refused me any further communication. Treated me like a leper or pariah rather than a citizen of their own country.Maybe they dislike p+t army vets.Maybe they dislike everyone.My recommendation is to try and find another embassy if you ever need anything.

We received little help on this topic from the embassy with lots of misinformation.This is the law covering Dual citizenship (Ukrainian + another passportthat many are misinterpreting. It is not outlawed and it is not against the Ukrainian constitution as many would like you to believe.Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine “Citizenship of Ukraine” provides: «If a resident of Ukraine acquires foreign nationality, then in legal relationship with Ukraine this person is recognized only as a resident of Ukraine. If a foreign person acquires nationality of Ukraine, then this individual is recognized only as a resident of Ukraine».The law doesn’t penalize or forbid you from having Dual citizenship, it simply doesn’t recognize two, and this is the same exact rule in most of the world including the USA. If your Chinese and American living in the USA you are recognized as an American. No different than Ukraines constitution.Don’t let anyone mislead you and tell you that you must relinquish your Ukrainian citizenship or that you are breaking the law for having two. No such thing and this embassy needs to clarify this for its US dual citizens avoiding a daily headache on the topic and protecting American Ukrainian Citizens from any misleading information or leaving them at the mercy of the Ukrainian lawyers who want $200 an hour to tell you its not against the law.On your embassies site it states the following:"In addition, individuals who do not relinquish their Ukrainian citizenship upon acquiring U.S. citizenship face potential fines"FALSE the above is 100% FALSE and possibly written by a Ukrainian/ American who themselves are not understanding the law or the status adding more confusion by giving false information.A bill imposing a fine was tried two times and did not pass or retracted. Making the above statement unwarranted and completely FALSE.This embassy is hurting its US citizens by providing wrong information on their site. And by allowing border patrol to harass US citizens against their own constitution that are based on rumors not laws. The law is clear on dual citizenship, if you are Ukrainian with a US citizen you are recognized as a Ukrainian only."Does not recognize" is being confused on a daily basis with being outlawed or illegal. This debacle should stop and this embassy should not be advising its citizens to seek legal advise on this issue which makes them more vulnerable dealing with some shady law firms. There is no legal advise on the matter as there is no law being broken. You are eager to put wrong information on your website such as you must relinquish your Ukrainian citizenship but you wont post the correct article regarding the matter, not only to help your dual citizens but also as a symbol to anyone attempting to harass US Ukrainian citizens crossing or traveling.2235-141єдиного громадянства - громадянства держави Україна, щовиключає можливість існування громадянстваадміністративно-територіальних одиниць України. Applied for a visitors visa for my sister, they denied. The officer refused to look at her documents, proof that she would come back to Ukraine. We are working our butts off paying their salaries while they enjoy their little power to deny us in basic human right to see a family once a year. What a shame and waste of taxpayers money.

The only plus is fast service, good guys at security. I applied for B1/B2 visa. I didn’t get it but it’s ok. The officer I was talking to was a mulatto girl, unfriendly one and irritated, she hardly spoke and understood Russian, was constantly distracted by her colleagues. This was the first time when I totally couldn’t understand an American. I know English pretty well, but I wanted to have an interview in Russian, and I sympathize with applicants who don’t know English and meet officers like that one

I was there in 2012 to get a document notarized. The process was straight forward and I was done in about an hour. This embassy has long lines of people, but as an American if you make an appointment online you can just stop by the security guard.

Freindly staff...with ...quick service...very easy to find..and nice modern facility...comfortable waiting area!!

I love this place, but far away from the center, difficult to get there by public transport.

I think queue may be organized better, and not sure if there are any difference between those who came in appointed time and those who arrive late - all end up with first come first served principle. But overall experience is good.

Absolutely amazing customer service!

I can see why this embassy has poor reviews from people who use the immigration and visa services. They are incredibly overwhelmed and there are so many people throughout the day. I spent three hours here getting various services done for citizens. Everyone there is very courteous and efficient. I do recommend not making your appointment for first thing in the morning because it is an absolute nightmare to wade through the people who are there for visas and immigration. It looks like a line to get it but everyone waits for their times to be called however, it is really disorganized and you need to ask people around you and push your way through a bit. When I left at around 10:00am there was no line so I think this is a more convenient time. There are also no cellphones or bags of any kind allowed in the embassy there and there are places across the street you may pay for. I received my passport 13 days after submitting my application and this included delivery to another city. After dealing with the embassy in Moscow I am ver pleased with my experience here.
