Good craft beers and friendly staff
Been coming here years, always a friendly atmosphere with good outdoor seating. Great choice of beers as you’d expect from a brewery but the crowning glory is they now sell Monster Munch!
My favourite Sunday dinner in Nottingham! As well as the rest of the menu being lovely. Amazing atmosphere, dog friendly and nice beer garden. Couldn’t recommend more, the staff are so lovely and really helpful. What more could you want. 10/10!
Good and friendly vibes before a Notts County match, although mum and I were only having for a cup of tea after walking the dog, still it had a nice atmosphere.
Excellent beer and a pleasant environment.Great staff.
Lovely looking pub, really big rooms, wide selection of drinks, friendly staff but the most expensive pint of lime and soda Ive ever bought but then no where is perfect!
Fantastic decor, lovely staff and a great glass of Guinness.
Service good. Would recommend. Friendly staff good enough to meet friends, for drinks and a meal too.
Fantastic pub always friendly staff definitely recommend 👌 👍
Over priced 3.8 beer at £3.90. When parking there signs not really noticeable tell you to give your registration number so you dont get fined so be careful about that!!
This was once the boots social club but now is a lovely restored friendly pub. It has a photo of the original boots dispensary on the wall. A good beer garden and conservatory, as well as plenty of room inside. It gets very busy on match days!!Run by Castle rock brewery which has all the usual range of real ales you would expect. A reasonable range of food too. Will definitely come back again on quieter days.
Attitude of staff is terrible. Let us buy drunks and sit down before announcing that we had 10 minutes to drink them. If wed been told this when we ordered, we wouldnt have bothered. They proceeded to hover around until we left before making a show of pouring my partners almost-full drink away in front of us.Yet another example of aTrent Bridgr pub being complacent because theyve taken their revenue on match day. Were local people who normally visit regularly but we wont be coming in again. Theres a right way and a wrong way to let customers know its closing time, we werent the only ones who felt this way the wrong way this evening.
Good selection of beers are great food. Nice outside dining area. Dont forget to register your car at the bar if you are using the car park
Nice pub, lovely little outside area too and fair prices
This Castle Rock pub is great. Lots of space and lots of outdoor space some of which is covered for rainy days or shade for sunny days. We went with friends for a Sunday roast. Food took quite a while to come but when it did we totally forgot about that. It was amazing and huge! Good value for money. There were so many different veggies, roast carrots and potatoes, mash, green beans, broccoli, red cabbage and then a huge piece of stuffing, Yorkie and the meat. And one of us had the veggie option which looked good. My husband made the comment that he’d have liked it on a bigger plate but then we decided that we actually liked it all piled up as you kept getting surprises as you went down through it and the food stayed hotter. The beers at this pub are brilliant. They have a huge range of craft beers, real ales and more. We sat in the conservatory to eat then moved outside for a final drink in very slightly cooler air. The staff were friendly.
Amazing pizza offers on wednesday.really helpful, friendly bar staff.great location good selection of beer ,cider and spirits
This is a pretty nice looking venue. The servers are polite. Plenty of beer and spirits served. Pets are welcome and there are rooms for large parties, if needed. I ordered the Sunday roast and it tasted fantastic! Beef, mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, cabbage, green beans, roasted carrots and Yorkshire pudding. You WILL be full!
Great place for a drink with various sized hosting area in and outside for private parties. Good links by bus, train and car with adequate parking.
Great place, loads of good pubs in walking distance, get yourselves in here if youre in the area. Cracking selection of ale, beers, wines and spirits. Never eaten here, but friends who have all recommend. Lovely pub, properly run and staffed. Highly recommended.
Excellent pub with a great breakfast and loads of top beers. 👍
Good selection of ales. Great post-Cricket location. Decent beer garden out back. Service pretty good, even when busy.
Lovely place. Very welcoming. Food was nice except gravy ran out and had to wait a while for refills. Other than that very nice Sunday lunch.
I cannot thank and praise the staff for the lovely birthday meal we had today for my 11 year old. They were very accommodating, friendly, attentive and made us feel so relaxed like we were enjoying our meal at home. There were 15 of us with many requests and changes of mind but the the staff remained professional and helpful. Our order was for 5 pizzas, all of which arrived hot, well presented and very tasty. This is our second family birthday gathering at The Embankment and we will certainly highly recommend and return.
Lovely building. Like a pub and registry office all in one.Great for small weddings, as it has almost everything... car park, history, small area for photos outside. However, was a little let down on the food. Sour dough toast, which was like a rock. And brocoli that was crunchy.... to the point of being almost fresh. Staff were very casual too. Nice staff mind... nothing wrong with them, just not smart. Not quite wedding....
Nice place but the prices of drink are expensive they might get more customers dropping in if the price was cheaper being greedy gets you nowhere look at witherspoons across the road compared to you for the same drinks
Great food and great beer! Loved the live music on Friday, too!
Delicious squash burrito, staff very friendly & went out there way to check for no soya. Will definitely return.
Could do with some basic cleaning outside. Lots of rubbish on the floor and dirty ashtrays in the outside area. Otherwise its generally a nice spot to enjoy a beer, lots of selection at the bar and friendly bar staff.
Went to a comedy night here. Great entertainment. Hot drinks served but not all night. Nice atmosphere.
Beautiful place with stunning views, very relaxing to walk down. You can also catch a ride on The Princess river boat.
Really great place for lunch and a drink.Plenty of room inside and out..parking available..Staff are very friendly and helpful..
Nothing really wrong with the place just need the bar management to be different on Match days. Waiting 35mins to get served is not really good enough. Just a bit of advice from another bar owner maybe have a bottle only section, and only have one lager one cider on and a member of staff just keeps pouring lager not serving. It will speed service up loads. Like I said still a great bar
One of the best pubs in Nottingham. Castle Rock know how to put on a do. Drinks are all good, with an amazing gin selection.
Took my daughter and her friends for a birthday meal on a Sunday, and what a treat it was! Great food at a very reasonable price. I just wish Id created more room in my belly to finish my enormous roast lamb...
I am bound to be bias as my wife and I had our wedding here which was obviously the 2nd best day in both our lives (so far)However we have always had great service the regular food is awesome and one of the many reasons we love going. This also benefits from being like all the other Castle Rocks in Nottingham in that it serves a large variety of different draught. It is stupidly busy on Forest match days but dont let the que for the bar put you off the staff know exactly what they are doing and you can been seen too in a matter of minutes. The great outdoor seating means the pub is perfect no matter the season. The building is also an old Boots Pharamacy (hence the decorso if you havent been goIve attached some photos of the wedding day incase any of you are looking at this review are considering it as a location for your function.
We booked two tables of 6 for a meal after training. We actually had more people at training than we expected and turned up with 17 people, but the staff were extremely accommodating despite also hosting a wedding party. We were given the whole conservatory to ourselves, which was especially kind as Forest were playing and the pub was about to get very busy. Our waitress, El, was excellent. She made sure to take our food order so that we would get it before they got too busy. We didnt wait long for food at all considering they had the wedding party as well. The food was also absolutely excellent, with plenty of vegan options. 10/10, absolutely recommend.
Lovely pub with a great selection of beers, nice decoration and a good atmosphere. Not too busy or noisy on a Saturday night.
Lovely building, with an option to sit in the bar or lounge area. When we visited there was a party upstairs which was loud (not the end of the world though as it was a Saturday night!but not the usual range of beers available
Service was a little slow and had to check where our food order had got to. On arrival it wasnt entirely hot....but it was excellent quality. The staff were also pleasant. Would have been 5 stars if we hadnt waited so long and the food was hot but would definitely go again.
This is such a great pub! The history of the building is nicely represented and the staff are friendly. The beer choice is very good indeed and the food is incredible. Check out the Sunday roast and you wont be disappointed, I assure you!The staff are really good at taking into account dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten free. Highly recommended.
The Embankment is a spectacularly beautiful, very large pub to the south of Nottingham centre, between the station and the Trent Bridge cricket stadium. A good place for cask ale lovers, and a great venue for hanging out for a couple of hours. Friendly staff, wonderful, extensive outside seating area, and not too loud. Whats not to like?
Great pub. Good atmosphere. Especially on match day. Great beer..
A very good Sunday Lunch. The pub is part of the Castle Rock group so the food is usually good. The portions and quality of food is on average a little better here than some others from the same brewery. The beef was tender and not too fatty. The roast potatoes were excellent. Another dish purchased was the Brie Wellington which was good. Im not a parsnip fan but the shaved parsnips were actually rather nice. The only reason why I have given this 4 stars is because the outside could have been a little cleaner as there were a number of cigarette ends strewn around the beer garden.
Went in for a pint after cricket so arrived later in the evening. Very quiet when we arrived and managed to get a table but a couple of beers were out (it was later in the dayand not coming back on. Filled up really quickly with cricket fans and had a good atmosphere. Staff served everyone quickly but still a small queue at the bar because of number of people. Really nice outside area and seating. Good beers and worth visiting but if you dont like crowds avoid times around football/cricket.
A great place, buzzing on a Saturday night. Great Covid procedures, staff great, ordering system great, food spot on, don’t be out off by the look of outside, get in and enjoy!!!
Dull & cold day out from wilford bridge to Trent bridge, over hours enjoymenton my mobility scooter, there is very tarmac path all flare easy going, passing people friendly , it was interesting n beautiful you could seepassed history, good cafe at the start & public house at Trent bridgefew minutes walk of the tram n lots of buses at pub end,
Fantastic place. Great layout with a large outside area. Castle Rock pub which means I can spend hours in here. 20-30 minute walk from the city centre but Trent Bridge boasts a number of pubs in the area. Contender for the best pub in the city.
Nice place great staff. We had a wedding there during the Covid pandemic so it was a little on the odd side. The food was lovely the bride looked wonderful. Beers were top notch. The new staff member was very helpful and clearly an asset to the team.
Fantastic time at the riverside festival, the fireworks were amazing "Thank You". Everyone happy and no trouble in sight. Great. Thank you to the organisers and the patrols (policekeeping us safe and for the bus stewards after the event making sure we all got on the long queue of buses lol, without any problems.
Wow - Tastiest Sunday Roast!2 Sunday roast dinners ordered, two very happy customers! A great roast dinner, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veg cooked well (not limp & soggymash, Yorkshire pudding, crispy stuffing ball not forgetting the gravy, so flavoursome! For £10 this was a great meal at a good price.Couldnt fault it in any way. Hope its as good on a return visit...
