The Duke in ‘Akko

Probably one of Haifas best known pubs in the Carmel neighborhoods. The place is always a good choice for a drink with friends. One thing that sets this place apart from other pubs in Haifa is the level of food. The Dukes menu features some entrees that one could expect to see in a high class restaurant. Not only that - they actually taste like in a very good restaurant! Highly recommended!

We wanted to like it but....The good:The cocktails and beer selection are fantastic. The food is actually quite delicious.The place is quite lovely and unique looking.The bad:The tables are so badly placed, the place is so crowded that its impossible not to constantly be pushed by other people while sitting specially kids.Service is not truly the best, they seem understaffed. I got up myself to order. And later I asked 4 times and waited about 20 minutes for a glass of water, even though by then the place was pretty empty.The worst:Everything else would have been annoying but acceptable if by the end of our meal we wouldnt have had to deal with an entitled rude waitress who believed she deserved a high tip even though the service was very poor. She thought it appropriate not only to complain about the already undeserved amount of the tip and made faces at my husband. Extremely unprofessional. Specially when the meal was 363 shekels for two adults and a 2 year old.

Get the Duke Burger 220 with Sainte Mauer cheese. Best in Haifa.

I usually always enjoy my time and food at the Duke but I just left such an awful experience. The service was incredibly rude, the orders were messed up, confusion with the bill and Im disappointed in how everything was handled.

Pleasant atmosphere (at least when not crowded), rich spectrum of choices, clean and tasty 😋. All in one, warmly recommended!

Good music, not to loud, exactly what is needed to enjoy the pub atmosphere on one hand and to be able to manage a conversation on the other hand.Very kind and fast service.Highly recommended place for young and midage people who like good pub atmosphere and appreciate good food and drinks.

Really a wonderful place when its quietBut a few times now had to just get up and leave because the extremely loud music made it unbearably painful to be there.

An upscale gastro pub, with a decent variety of well presented food and drinks. The place is well designed and maintained, the service is pleasant and the vibe is good. Prices are on the higher side but well worth it.

Excellent pub, Irish style, located on the Carmel mountain. The food was really good, complements to the chef :), and reasonable prices. The wine and beer menu is standard. Service was great, so was the atmosphere. Parking nearby could be a problem.

Service was impossible. Continuously we needed to attract attention of staff, who were grouped conversing together. Despite hot weather we needed to request water and even then they were unable to provide like warm water. Desserts were sickly sweet. Main course was ok.

The food was great, but the hostess was rude.

We made an order, they confirmed it, the declared delivery time was 50 min, we waited for more than an hour - no delivery. We called them and found out, they CANCELLED our order, without even notifying us. Horrible service, never again.

By no doubt the best bar in Haifa. Superb service, a huge variety of alcoholic brands and gourmet food.I go there whenever i can for the past ten years and always have a great time.

Pleasant place. Not too loud or crowded, cosy atmosphere, happy vibes. Service was very fast and professional. Food was good although not as high standard as the price would suggest. Generally, prices are a bit high, especially for whiskeys (of which they have great variety, by the way). Appropriately, typical customer age is more on the senior side

Great variety of dishes and beer. Good service and nice atmosphere, though crowded - you should order a place to sit at least a few hours in advance or you will have to wait. Good location along the main road - you can either walk, take public transportation or park your car near by.

Vegetarian, pescetarian, carnivore - regardless of what you eat, youll find it here and it will be delicious. Also, very conveniently located. A bit pricey, but worth it. Thats the review as a restaurant. As a bar they have a large and varied stock of beer, wine, whiskey, whisky, cognac, etc.If youre looking to have a good time, get together with friends here and you will.

Love this place! Great food! Way beyond what you would expect from bar food. The duck is incredible! Salads are fresh and tasty. Drinks are awesome and atmosphere is absolutely fun. So this is certainly my go to place for an evening with friends or to just eat well and chill with good music and drinks!

It used to be one of my favorite places, and still very nice to step by. Nice public, good service, good choice of alcohol. Expensive.Seviche was below average though. They used to have one of the best seviche in town, but this is not the case anymore. My friend had a hamburger and it was good.

The food here is really nice. One of the few places I know of who does really really nice dish: smoked goose breast. All the meats menu is tasty. The hamburgers are always done as requested, the chicken liver is tender and tasty. You wont do wrong ordering any dish of the menu.Combine this with a great selection of beers: mainstream lagers, boutique Israeli breweries, and Guinness, and your get a winning place.The people visiting are not young which is a huge plus.But, take into account that you may have to wait for a table unless you ordered a table.

One of the best pubs in Haifa. Lovely atmosphere. Serves unusually high quality food for a pub, including noteworthy desserts. Open during the day and a good place to get a lunch, too. Very popular and frequently packed full - if you plan on coming Thursday or Friday night, call ahead to reserve a place.

Place is amazing, food desert, beer 🍺, clean, great atmosphere. Parking can be quite a pain. They have an English menu and the menu is a tablet style.....never seen that before....I will return again.

Usually crowded (for a reason)... Has a good vibe and delicious food! I highly recommend their burger and shepherds pie!

The place is really overpriced.However the food was good, and the service was fine.Theres an OK selection of beers on tap, and a variety of food choices.Note that especially on weekends you should reserve a table in advance .
