Piazza Campo de' Fiori, 20/21, 00186 Roma RM, Italy, Vatican City
The Drunken Ship - Pub in Vatican City, Vatican City
Decent spot for a drink, but I wouldnt hang out here all night long lol. Crowd can get a little annoying. But the staff is pretty friendly and its a nice spot to grab a shot or two before you head back out to keep exploring Rome.
Great American Bar in Rome
Mmm just go there for a drink. Don’t eat. Hamburguers are not fresh and it’s expensive in comparative to the other restaurants on the piazza. :)
10 minutes waiting and still no one came to the table. Unbelievable! Worst her ever!
Amazing bar in campo di fuori area of Rome, very good vibe and a good time here always. All the staff are great here but a special mention for the beautiful Julia and also Mario the D.j. we had a great time guys.
I had a great time here.I found the staff to be friendly and attentive enough. The vibe (music and decoris clearly geared towards the college-dive crowd.. but Im totally fine with that. The one bathrooms cleanliness needs more attention. (More for the female patrons sake). It was very empty when I went (during the middle of the day of a windy work week), which worked out great for my group and I...until a strong gust of wind knocked over a couple of the giant outdoor dining umbrellas and sent the American flag on a collision course w/the back of my head (we were drunk enough to find all that hilarious at the time).Drinks and food were very decently priced, in my opinion (Salmon & avocado club sandwich for €10!! Hell yea!)They even gave us 4 free shots.Im definitely coming back next time Im in Rome.
Horrible place, was kicked out by the security guard saying he was in charge of who comes in and sits, even though we called and the worker said to come in. Security guard extremely discourteous. Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND
Great time, they speak fluent English which is a plus if you dont speak Italian and drinks are reasonably priced
Nice bit of Americana in the heart of Rome. Great place for exchange students.
The bar has a nice location and some of the staff are nice. However, I cannot give more than a star because, besides being tremendously overpriced and playing unnecessarily loud music, one of the bartenders literally bullied me, without any exaggeration. He aggressively shouted senseless things at me every time he saw me in a disrespectfully and mockingly loud voice. When he shouted at me for the umpteenth time and I ignored him, he moved towards me and brazenly patted me on the back. I really wonder where the head of the person who hired him was at when they did. The degree of indolence to his aggressiveness and rudeness of the other bartenders cannot be overstated. Not going back to this bar ever again.
Good place for a beer and football on TV
Everything I was looking for was served there... friendly English speaking staff with good and fast service ... the prices are relatively high compared to other similar places in the area
American fare. A little pricy. Hangout spot for American study abroads
€20 for a jug of local beer, that is basically two pints of beer in the jug - so €10 a pint. Tourist trap, avoid.
Very american, liquor is expensive, but fun if you dont want to talk to anyone not from the United states
On our last night in Rome, all my friends and I wanted to do was to go to our favorite bar, Drunken Ship. When we got there some bald douché bag with a velvet rope refused to let us in. With no good reason I must add. Little do they know, my friends and I were planning on spending the rest of our money that night. Their loss I guess, because we just took our business to Scholars. I highly recommend going there instead. All the Drunken Ship cares about is getting American girls drunk and taking advantage of them. Can’t believe five Americans willing to spend a check at an American bar got denied. Very disappointing.
Guy at the front actively discriminated against us because we were American… at an American styled bar. Absolutely egregious. Place is small and only good for student discount, but even then the drinks are trash.
If you are an American in the Campo area and like Tex-Mex, you’ll feel at home here!
It was a normal place but unfortunately a small bad incident happened! And sadly didnt get a friendly reaction from the bar tender!!Blue Hawaiian 10€
Tourist trap. Music is tremendously loud and annoying, food was late and horribly prepared. Pasta was nuked in the microwave- not sure how you could mess up pesto pasta. Perhaps if you’re drunk enough, you’ll enjoy the food. I get that it’s bar food- but even bar food should be prepared well and be edible. It most definitely is a drunken ship- it put our family on the poop deck and had us walk the plank.
We came for drinks and had some fun. It was crowded, loud, and full of American tourists and still a lot of fun. The drinks werent the best but still enjoyed ourselves. But if you dont like crowds, loud atmosphere, or young people dont go.
Waited about 30 min for a terrible drink just to be told to leave by rude bouncers. Don’t go here.
An expat bar with lots of college/uni aged kids. Drinks are on the expensive side and I wouldnt recommend the toilets! But the atmosphere was good otherwise!
Would not come again, staff is unfriendly and we were not allowed to stand anywhere, beer is expensive.
They don’t let guys enter after around 11.They only allow girls inventing the excuse that the bar is full. It’s a shame considering it is a pub. Then they allow only student of a specific university some nights; something absurd for a big pub in one of the most crowded squares in Rome. It should get a control from the local police!!
The worst drinks ive had in a very long time. We had to take our drinks back, and the bar tender admitted to knowing the rum was bad, but still served us anyway??? Then he said he could give us nicer rum, but it would be 10 euros. Do not waste your time
it feels like a frat basement. we waited in line to enter to an underwhelming scene. the music was bad, the drinks were weak and the staff were annoying. i truly do not recommend if you are looking for a fun night. absolutely don’t come here.
The most American experience of my life. If you want to feel like in America while staying in Rome this is the place to go. Sometimes the ambulance had to come though because some people drank too much😔
Overpriced, but not bad at all. Good beer, bad music too loud inside. Toilet was pretty dirty as well.
An ok bar with an awful restroom. Also, they charged me 15 euro for one beer because they charged me for the wrong thing. I tried to dispute but they didnt take me seriously.
Great bar in Rome, very popular aswell. Toilet is a bit disappointing. I recommend woman not to use it.
The best bar in Rome I have been! Amazing servis with great servers who smile all the time and help you with your order. I recommend 100%.You will feel like you belong here.Thank you! :)
Love the atmosphere here! Great music, great drink choices, and pretty decent food. The food definitely ranks in the bar food category, but well made! 10/10 Recommend!
As Americans living in Rome, we were excited to try this place. The staff was friendly, the drinks were good (in a college bar kind of way), the food was horrible. It was all clearly microwaved, frozen food, for the price of a normal restaurant. I hope no one takes this as an example of American food.
Student bar for American kids. Probably be fun for American 18/19 year olds looking to get drunk, hook up and experience nothing about Italy. Thats not necessarily a a criticism. Just my personal opinion. The northern Irish barman is very nice the Italian guy was not and was just arrogant after I made my orders in Italian, presumably because he realised I wasnt gonna tip him on top of the ludicrously overpriced, supermarket standard beer he served me.However the ridiculous US flags draped over every surface and the beer pong table just give it a cheap "pub crawl" look.Used to be better many years back, and it really needs a lick of paint.
Pilsner very well! Im from CZ, so I recommend this pub. I can imagine to stay there whole day and night! Service nice. No problem at all. Lets have a beer!
Worst bar in Rome? Yesterday night I went in this orrible bar. There was supposed to be an "americans" night. I just found it as a trap for tourist. Quality of drinks was so bad, Ive never seen a toilet as the all location this dirty in my life. I find it also not safe, bad looking people around probably waiting for rob someone. If you are in Rome and you want to have a nice night out, just dont go there!!!
If you’ve been on a wine kick and need a beer, or to watch some football, then this is the place to go. Located in a square with other nice, much more Italian, restaurants, this place stands out as an Irish pub with standard pub fare, TVs with sports, and casual outdoor seating as well.
Young crowd. Very friendly staff. Cheapest drinks on Campo dei fiori piazza. As far as I can tell. Now they have food. A great improvement. Friday Saturday night is a bit crazy. Dancing and fun. Very effective bouncers in late evening.
Used to go there often in the past but seems to have changed recently. Have tried to get in twice with my Italian friends (I myself am Britishbut have been told that "we only let Americans in" by the bouncers.Shame, as it seems quite a selective and - dare I say - racist mentality to hold.
Waking by and seen this place outside the market. Stopped in and had some drinks to pass some time and relax. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather. The staff was great and very attentive. Not sure how the night life is, we were only there mid afternoon for a couple of drinks.
I ordered a Coke and a beer both were not cold. Also I have to wait 30 minutes for 4 French fries.
Seems like an American college bar. Even had a beer pong table and funnels attached to the wall. Music was straight from MTV hits in 2008. Food was terrible. We had a cheeseburger and chicken nuggets that were both extremely cheap and tasted like it. Only pro is that the bill was reasonable. You definitely get what you pay for. Not a bad place to get wasted, other than that find another bar/restaurant.
Just know that this place is considered "the american bar" so if you are ok with that in Italy, then have a blast! Fun place, cheap sugary strong drinks, beer pong, etc. The staff is fun and engaging. Dont expect stellar food but its tasty enough and goes along well with the drinks (and the drunks!)
Excellent international club for the people in the young 20ies. Staff incredible polite. Lost my credit card one night and came the day later in the afternoon and asked for it. The staff was extremely helpful, all of them and found my card. Ill haved too show my id for identifying that is was my card.
Great bar location. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the commotion on the square, and the bartender was nice too. I had to dock a star though, because they claim to be an American bar, and they only thing American there is the flags hanging up. There didnt seem to be a single American beer there!
Positives:The staff are very friendly.Very tourist friendly for English speakers.Student discounts are amazing! The location is superb and within walking distance of a few other pubs.Drawbacks:The bathroom is unfortunately the most disgusting ones I have ever seen.In short, I would definitely recommend this place to any young student tourist looking for a place to get cheap drinks while out on the town.
Stopped by this bar one night in May 2016 by myself and sat at a table outside to drink a beer and people watch. Within 5 minutes I had two other fellows sitting with me, one who was friends with the owner and getting us drinks. Led to a great night. Really enjoyed this place.
Decent beer but kind of expensive overall for the beer offered. There were also a lot of cocktail options and a few wine options as well. I felt the staff was nice and helpful. Wi-Fi was available and good. Downgrading to 4 stars because the bathroom was seriously the worst Ive ever experienced in a bar- so disgusting!
Open and spacious bar for the younger party people, attracts the backpacker croud. Beer at semi-reasonable prices.
