Low-key restaurant offering comforting American grub plus ample beer taps, cocktails & wine.
Yummy food and delicious drinks. Awesome waitstaff! The tables are sticky and gross but its a very cool vibe.
Food was phenomenal. Service matched and a great setting. Great for a Dinner out or just cocktails!
Stopped by while waiting to pick someone up from the airport. Everything was fantastic! Food was amazing and the service was exceptional.
Short ribs are the best I’ve ever had! Also, outstanding service and crème brûlée had a nice twist of flavor. I’ve been many times, highly recommend!
Great food and service. Sanford is an undiscovered Gem in Florida. Great food and entertainment.. highly recommend.
Good food. It was very hot outside the day we were there and kind of humid inside.
A bit pricey but great atmosphere
The food is absolutely amazing! Some of the best food Ive ever had! And I love that they do a chefs special every day. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because service is just ok. When weve been here and sat at the bar, service was phenomenal. But sitting at a table, it seemed that our server only came once in a while. After eating, the rest of my party went to the car and I waited about 10 minutes trying to get the attention of our server for some to go boxes but it seemed she was avoiding me.. very odd and awkward.. We will probably come here again but will just sit at the bar.
I want to give this place 5 stars. Just an issue that I ran into with the beef tenderloin I ordered. There was silverskin in the middle of each slice that made it difficult to eat. The flavor was fantastic and the drinks were amazing, but this was a pretty basic thing to miss. Ill definitely come back and will most likely change this to a 5 star review though. I have a feeling this was a one-time mistake.
I loved this place. Warning, the online menu shows they offer gnocchi pomadoro. It’s no longer on the menu. It was the sole vegetarian option, and being a vegetarian, I was dismayed to see it not on the menu when we arrived. Not to worry, I was presented with some vegetarian options when I enquired and the mushroom risotto was to die for! I have to think it wasn’t you’re normal mushroom risotto…must have had some truffle too, I’m guessing. All of my non-vegetarian dinner mates also enjoyed their food as much as I did. The atmosphere was great and informal. Service was stellar.
Great environment. Excellent service. Good food. We went to The District based on a local recommendation. It didn’t disappoint. We were lucky to dine on an evening with relatively few other patrons which made for a calm quiet dinner. I had the trout, my buddies had stake. No one had anything to complain about. The serving sizes were ample.
Food is alright. Drinks are alright. Still has a bit to go to come into its own as a place to revisit, but convenient to the airport if youre looking for food before or after a flifht
The food was absolutely out of this world. We started with the shrimp dip which was very rich and easy to split. We then ordered the short ribs and they were so tender and flavorful. The risotto that accompanied it was just mouth watering. The only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because the service was just disappointing. After ordering and receiving our starter we weren’t checked on again to order our entrees until well after we finished the starter.
We enjoyed it very much, food and drinks were almost perfect.I had the spiked blueberry lemonade and my husband had a mango beer and both drinks were delicious. We had the shrimp dip and it was perfect. My husband had the trout and that was perfection…everything in that plate was tasty and cooked perfectlyI had the filet mignon, I ordered it medium well and I know is difficult to cook a filet mignon than way because is a thick cut…. But they bunt it, so the meat had a little burnt crust that tasted like charcoal….. I was hungry and I didn’t want to complain so I just took the crust out and eat it…. It was delicious without that.
I love their herb half chicken & Nonnas chocolate cake. Absolutely delicious!
Very unique bar and restaurant. Stopped in for drinks but the dinners being served looked amazing!
This restaurant was wonderful. I cant remember the last time my family and I have enjoyed a meal quite so much. We had 3 adults and 2 children with us. We ordered the Short Rib entree, Pork Chop Entree, Bass entree, and the kids split the Halved Chicken entree. We all shared a bite or two from each others plates and all of the main dishes were cooked, plated, and seasoned perfectly. Our cocktails (Their version of a Manhattan, and a specialty drink I cant rememberwere also made fantastically. The only downside (as insignificant as it waswas the ahi tuna appetizer was a bit too spicy. They had a wonderful Wasabi cream sauce beneath the tuna, but some sort of Cajun, or pepper seasoning, dusted over the tuna was a bit much. We will be back!
From the start it was great, the hostess Tanya was friendly and a delight to chat with. Our server Victoria was knowledgeable and super kind to my 18month old grandson. She made great recommendations that we ordered. The fillet was tender the peppercorn sauce was perfect, the lobster dip incredible, it was a hit for my grandson too! To top the meal off, the creme brulee, it was decadent! Will definitely recommend and be back many times to come!
Wonderful restaurant. It was our first time here and The food and service is very good. The waiter and employees we’re friendly and patient. And the food was well done fresh the dishes complimented each other. I thought it would be a regular experience but it was pretty good. I will definitely be coming back.
It was packed and there was a wait. However, one of the bar tops opened up and we were able to sit right down. The food was amazing, our server knew just what menu items would tempt our pallets. Will definitely be coming here again!
Great place for great drinks and an elevated dinner. Weve dined here a few times now and they never disappoint. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always super helpful. Highly recommend for a date night 👍👍
My husband and I really enjoyed our food. Very good service. Just be aware that their website has not been updated so they are not offering some of the items posted on their website. Also, the prices have gone up substantially. We would definitely go back.
We had an early dinner Saturday and for the two of us ordered mussels, burrata, and tuna appetizers and then shared the short ribs entree. Everything was delicious and prepared perfectly and the service was excellent. The District is hands down my favorite restaurant in Central Florida. It is wonderful to have this spot in Sanford!
Okay food for the price & rushed environment.Last night my husband & I came to celebrate my birthday. We got a reservation and specifically noted wed be celebrating a special occasion. Not only was it not acknowledged, but we were rushed out of the restaurant. The host kept clearly eyeing our table to turn & burn & began busing the table as we were sitting talking. - taking half drank glasses of water, taking our bill, and practically doing everything but wiping the table as we had just finished eating.Overall unfortunately I dont think Ill be back.
This is a meat gastropub style restaurant in historic downtown Sanford.Food: The photo posted with this review is the bone-in pork chop and lamb chops (special). The pork chop was cooked perfectly to medium temperature, and had a delightful flavor. My table mates enjoyed the braised ribs. All meals were plated beautifully, and the braised ribs were also delicious.Drinks: This place serves a wide variety of mixed cocktails. Personally, enjoyed the district old fashion. Drinks are creative and commendable. we have a good selection of brown liquors, and several beers on tap.Decor: This location includes indoor and outdoor dining, and there is a bar. Hes a welcoming environment.Service: service here was excellent.
Excellent dinner tonight. Service was on point and attentive. The food was superb (get the bourbon pork chop). Great place to check out.
No reservations so we sat at the bar. Best decision! Had the steak specials, lobster dip and chicken noodle chowder. New fashions to drink. The steak was the bomb! Steve the bar tender was awesome! Hubby tried crème brûlée for the first time. He loved it! Definitely a must go!
Everything about this place was absolutely perfect. The feel of the restaurant was both high class and relaxed. The flow of service was perfect. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. The drinks were made with quality ingredients and had the right balance. We had the District and the Sanford Smash. We started off with the lobster dip (not pictured)- great flavor and texture. We decided on the Nawlins style Grouper and shrimp, along with the Filet. The flavor and texture mix on the grouper dish was mouthwatering. It all went together so wonderfully. The filet could have been cooked just slightly more evenly but was still fantastic and I wanted to lick that port wine demiglaze off the plate. Overall a great experience- would definitely go back again.
Wow, we just discovered this place! It’s small so you may need reservations but totally worth it! We were here on a Tuesday night at 5 pm so we were able to walk in. The service was fantastic and the food was even better! See photos. We cannot wait to come back!
Intimately quaint contemporary eatery located slightly off the beaten path of Downtown Sanford with a limited seasonal menu, full of flavorful dishes that invite you to try them all.We had the mussels for an appetizer which were abundantly delicious. For the mains, she had the Nawlins Style Snapper & Shrimp and I had the Rainbow Trout, both were excellent, hats off to the chef.Last but not least, the waitress was friendly, patient and relaxed, no rush here, even though we needed to stay a bit after close to finish up.Well be back, a bit earlier I hope, but thats up to her...😋
The atmosphere was very casual considering the price of the offerings and the upscale menu. For my taste, although the choices were quite elegant and gourmet, the menu was very limited. I must say my meal was very good, this four stars. I would not return because there isn’t anything else on the menu I would eat as a person who doesn’t eat red meat or pork.
Excellent eatery, with a select menu of creative and tasty items. A larger than average offering of seafood items. The trout special was great. Nice selection of beers, wines (glass and bottleand a good selection of bourbons. Reservations are recommended. When you do so, CALL the restaurant. Don’t book online, as they don’t always get those bookings.
A foodies delight. The food is artfully prepared and cooked to perfection. Ive had the pork chop for the second time and it was wonderful. My husband had the yellowfin tuna, delicious and very fresh. A limited wine list, but good and priced right. If you are a beer lover, you will definitely enjoy the wide selection.
What a great meal! Roxanne was our server and she wash amazing. Everything we ate was delicious!! I had the grouper with shrimp. And the tacos appetizer……home run’ start to finish! Very clean and comfortable. I can’t wait to go back! The hostess was one of the friendliest people ever. You can’t go wrong here!
Excellent food and very attentive service..a must try location in Sanford Historic area.
Initially got off on the wrong foot, but that was a combination of me failing to eat anything all day and the service being a little slow at first. Our server, Oscar, came by and took care of things quickly. I dont think he was supposed to be our server but he definitely stepped up to the plate. We ordered the Nawlins Style Snapper and Shrimp and the Braised Short Ribs. Both were amazing. The ribs came with vegetables and risotto, which was really good. For dessert we had the Lemon Ricotta Cake. Very creamy and smooth.
Great Food! Great Service! Great Beer! Great Atmosphere! I had the none in pork chop and the green apple cider! Best decision ever! Sat at the bar and had an awesome experience chatting with the bartenders! You wont be disappointed!
Excellent food, excellent service and wow factor experience. I split the Braised short rib with Port wine demi, wild mushroom risotto and house vegetables. Cortney the bartender was awesome. If you havent been here, youre missing out.
Delicious food - we got the pork chop and the braised short rib. I loved the mushroom risotto, and the vegetables were properly cooked. According to the menu they dont do substitutions (though we didnt ask). We sat at the community table, servers were friendly. Its better on the weekend to have a reservation.
What a fantastic hidden gem in downtown Sanford! The fish of the day (snapperwith shrimp was incredible and the Ahi Tuna salad was just perfect. We ate outside, in front of the restaurant, on a beautiful evening and it felt a little like a Cafe in Europe. Excellent service from our server and met the owner. Do yourself a favor and dine here for a delicious and relaxing treat!
Best food in Sanford. The Nawlins Redfish with Grit Cakes and Shrimp is amazing. We have been eating here sinve the beginning. Great food, drinks and atmosphere.
Happy Hour made us all very happy, great drink and tacos of all sorts! Our server was amazing too!!!! Will be back (-:
Fantastic food!!! The soft tuna tacos are phenomenal!!!!I loved my drinks!! I have a great time in here and I could stay longer but they close at 10☹️. Well... I guess I have to come back more often to try other things in the menu😊!!!
The owner Brad is amazing. We had my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner at The District. Brad was so accommodating. He made sure we had super service. Allowed us to mix the lunch menu and dinner menu to accommodate all our guests. He even let me tap into there music system to play a special song for the bride and groom. The food was amazing, risotto was especially good. If you are in Sanford, The District is a must.
This was our first time dining at the District. We enjoyed our time here. We started at the table outside because it was such a beautiful night until the mosquitos! We quickly moved inside. Once we got in, the service slowed down a bit. We found ourselves sitting at the table somewhat unattended for a while. Then our food came. Minus a slightly cooler than normal temperature of my hot dish... the flavor was nice and it was perfectly cooked. Its worth the visit. If you find this review helpful, please press like below.
The district is an awesome place. We went there for a group function and they were absolutely wonderful. The food was great, the servers and bar tenders are fabulous and helpful. The decor is really fun and clean.
This place is awesome! The owners are friendly along with the staff. Nick has been my bartender from day one and hes been spectacular. The Bourbon Bone-in Porkchop is amazing. I have had it the last 3 times I have been here. Its thick, tender, juicy and the sauce is bursting with flavor. The Broccoli and mashed potatoes are seasoned properly and delightful. The drinks are all properly mixed and they use fresh ingredients to flavor every glass of their signature drinks.
We had a terrific time. This was in the heart of downtown Sanford.Parking may take a little bit of effort but there will be parking. They seated us very quickly and our server was there almost immediately. The interaction with staff was positive. The meals were well done and delicious from the appetizers to the main courses. The presentation was tasteful as well.We left feeling full and thoroughly satisfied.Would recommend them anytime and look forward to going back again.
We had a wonderful dinner here... It is a bit loud but that is due to the ceilings...Sanford is very lucky to have this little place for fine dining with a causal atmosphere...suggest you make a reservation on the weekends.
Fine dining on outdoor furniture. The seats were horrible and so the entire meal was uncomfortable. We ordered the chicken dip as a starter which had no flavor and the tortilla chips were saturated with cheese dust. I had the pork chop which was delicious , the broccoli rabe was richly full of garlic however the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. The main problem with our meal was the SALT. Too much on everything!!! We asked for some bread to try to cut the taste and the bread came out SALTED. The food and uncomfortable seating were not worth the price but our waitress was lovely and the service was great.
