Sam was a terrific instructor. Full of knowledge with a sense of humour. I could have drunk all night ........sample drinks were delicious. Time to try at home!

Took our mate here for his birthday for the whiskey experience and it was absolutely amazing: fun, informative, entertaining, and a little bit tipsy! Hosts were fantastic and well worth the money to have the expereince and bring home your own bottle of blended whiskey. Highly highly recommend!

Such a shame. This place has the most idiotic staff ever. I went to the bar because the length of time it was taking to get any service was ridiculous. Despite serving others at the bar, when I finally was able to order my drink, they told me I had to order through the serving staff. I mentioned I had waited a long time, this prompted a discussion of the staff arguing with me within which time they could have served me my drink. I was asking for a beer and an orange juice, not a complex cocktail. Total idiots, NEVER GO HERE if you want good service. Clearly egos and the need for authority supercedes customer service.

Service was a bit shocking. Lots of people making eye contact but not coming over to take our order. When asking a question to the bar staff the guy just shouted "table service!" at us which was rather rude. Lipstick marks on the glasses. Menus said dinner closed at 10 but waiter said it closed at 9. When queried they said the kitchen had closed early. Good place for 1 drink perhaps but not much more than that. Wouldnt go back again for sure.

Horrendous receptionist who hung up on me twice. I was calling to enquire into sponsorship opportunities. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXTREMELY RUDE. I will boycott this company and its products for this experience alone.

Brilliant gin experience! I had a few to choose from in London and so glad I chose this one. The knowledge, company and the actual gin were perfect for me. Nicole was an excellent teacher and the whole gin-making experience flew by with so much fun! Thank you 😍

I used to go to this pub with friends almost every day when I was a student and never had any problems. Very polite staff and a lovely pub.

Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly , unfortunately are room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived which the staff were so apologetic about, they even gave us drinks and food on the house because of this. nice view of portobello road from our room window. Would definitely stay there again.

Extortionate cocktail prices and tiny portions, 2 sips to every drink. The staff was friendly and helpful though.

The place looks really good, the waiters were friendly and the food was ok.The avocado toast was very small and the Benedict eggs needed more time, the egg white was juicy.The truffled fries with parmesan were not good and they added the parmesan later and the taste of the truffle was barely there. The fish was way too oily but the taste was ok.The sweet potatoes and the lemonade were delicious.

Ive accepted that cocktails are now £10+ but its so annoying when they bring you a tiny glass with 2 sips and you feel completely ripped off.Nice location though that gets good sun.

Suitable for a very young crowd as music is quite loud even in the afternoon. Staff is mostly polite and friendly except for the one miserable, rude long-haired brunette waitress who obviously hates her job! Enjoyed some of the small plates but the burger we ordered was cold. Wines are average too. Probably a good place for a night out but not for food. The waitress deserves a 0 for her attitude and lack of professionalism - thats not how you retain customers!

A below average pub, rather than a cocktail bar. The music is rocker(ish), the food is mediocre, and the servers try to be nice but plates are more thrown on your table vs placed. If you are keen to drink at the bar, great place, for anything else - not quite the place.

Door staff were ok, drinks quite pricey, even by London standards. Service was fine. Nothing special overall.

Friendly staff, good selection of gins. Food is also decent although for some reason kitchen was closed at 7pm when we last visited altho menu said 10pm...

My husband and I went for drinks here before dinner on our wedding anniversary. We thought it would be nice to go somewhere special. Big mistake. The door men were sarcastic to us. The only seats available were at the bar which was fine. We couldnt see a drinks menu so asked a member of staff.... who ignored us and walked past. The same thing happened with the second person we asked. The third sighed heavily, still no smile or eye contact, grabbed a barcode reader of someone elses table and plonked it down in front of us at the bar.As we were looking at the drinks menu I realised I didnt want to be there, it felt horrible, they had treated us horribly and this was not the experience we were hoping for. It doesnt cost anything to be professional, friendly and polite.Thank god we left. We went to a local pub which was equally as busy, yet even before we had sat down and taken our coats off a lovely smiling member of staff came over, and asked us what we wanted to drink. This happened the whole time we were there and fortunately gave us the special start to our evening that we had hoped for. Such a contrast. Its amazing how different work cultures can be.

Nice drinks! A bit too dark at night but very nice ambiance overall. Staff are very helpful and attentive to our requests despite they being super busy.

Staff at the door had an obnoxious attitude that wasn’t a good start. This style doesn’t work in 2021. The atmosphere is nice tho. Cocktails are fine.

Sadly this place is not nearly as good as I was led to believe. The staff are generally rather rude and standoffish with one waitress actually pushing past me while I was waiting to be seated. It took about 10 mins for someone to take our drinks order, on a fairly quiet night, even after I went to the bar and was told someone would be over soon. The music was also so loud that you had to yell just to hear anybody, not helped by the fact that there are massive speakers above most tables. in the Tasting Room. Just a disappointing and rather confused vibe here.

This place is quite poo. Alot of fuss and chaos and its not even that busy! Service took ages and you cant get a drink at the bar (says the snotty serverbecause your sat at a table.. very disappointed!!

The BEST bar in portobello.. it is abit pricey but definitely worth it.. staff are really friendly and attentive, especially Josie and Aidan who made our afternoon an even better one . Will be back and recommend to all locals :)

Went after work for some drinks. The cocktail- cosmopolitan, which wasnt bad, but has a slightly odd burnt taste. The truffle chips were nice and fresh though

Great atmosphere and friendly staff but cocktails were not good and even poorer quality food. Given my friends and I had ordered plenty of cocktails to try hoping they would make up for the previous ones but a real waste of money. Some drinks were so diluted it tasted like water. Real disappointment, not sure why it is so highly rated.

Love the distillery so many gin combos and more. Just tell them what you like and they will make something for you! Made my own gin here too and you can reorder whenever.

Friday evening drinks and compulsory food due to COVID restrictions. Had really nice drinks and loved the atmosphere of the place. Must say that in London finding nice music within bars it’s tough so I was pleased to listen to some nice music mix. Staff was friendly and really happy to assist and chat.One thing I wouldn’t recommend and that’s the minus 1 start would be the calamari which didn’t really worth it.Overall happy with the place, will revisit for sure!

Went for drinks. Please do yourself the favour and sit upstairs. It opens at 3. Drinks were definitely good but the host seemed a little stressed. He was running around a lot even though there weren’t that many tables full and the upstairs wasn’t open yet... I wonder if it might be a staffing issue.

Lovely pub on Portobello Rd but sadly portion was very small (barely any soft shell crab in my burger, topped with a burned bunand just an average Taste. Staff were friendly which was a plus.We weren’t asked to check in for our visit for covid which is a little worrying.Wouldn’t visit again I am afraid

Shouldnt be more disappointed!Great menu on paper but reality was really different. Ordered a Vegan jambalaya, which has been pretty much tomato rice and uncooked sausage. Undercooked pita bread, I would also suggest improving seasoning .If only it was the only downside! Very poor and unfriendly service too unfortunately. Such a shame as the window and look from the outside were promising. Definitely wont come back..

Really cute boutique rooms. Small but cozy. We booked in for one night and enjoyed staying in. The decor is modern. The record player is a nice touch. There’s a small fridge well stocked with drinks and free samples of their gin. The bathroom is clean and the water pressure is amazing! The soaps and shampoos are also quality products. Only thing is there’s a lot of stairs to climbs to get to the rooms. So if you are traveling with heavy luggage, be aware of that. But overall, would love to come back and stay here again next time!

This place was recommended to me as I was looking for a good place to have some gin. It looks well done up. And the variety of gin was amazing. The bar tender was quite knowledgeable,. The crowd is decent. A definite recommend if you looking to have an evening out with your mates or looking for a cosy night cap with a lovely friend.Not to forget, they do have their home brand of gin called Portobello Gin which is fantastic! And if you want to give someone a unique gin, then you can buy the bottle of gin straight from the bar!!Would definitely go back to this place again.

Lovely stay at the distillery, small but perfectly formed room with beautiful en-suite. What a lovely touch with the retro record player and vinyls. Very helpful staff and absolutely wonderful products in the bathroom. As a person with long hair it was so refreshing to have large bottles in the rooms with a separate conditioner. These products are amazing. Well done, loved it

Went with some friends who love gin and they loved the place, I was slightly nervous as it was bottle service only in our booth but I dont think we got charged for this just the drinks. The guy serving us was really great and friendly and the drinks were good. Quite steamy in there but lovely setting and not that expensive for cocktails considering the area!

Went to the upstairs GinTonica. Great selection of gin drinks - sampled quite a few between us and all were fantastic. Also has the tapas menu which was great. Portion sizes were good and food tasted great. Vibe upstairs is quite chilled and nice and cosy. Staff also super friendly!

Nice place at Portobello road to get a gin and some tapas.The space is nice and very trendy. It had two floors. The ground floor its mainly for drinks but you can order some tapas too. The upper floor has the kitchen and tables to get dinner.The gin offer is very wide, and the staff is friendly. The weekends is usually crowded so it is better to book a table even Moe if you are more than 4 people.The tapas are good quality and prepared by a Spanish cook.Nice option at Portobello

A wonderful place with some of the best gin around. The gin experience evenings are a bit pricey but a superb evening out. The team are hugely knowledgeable and guide you through the history of gin up to the preset day, serve a variety of different cocktails and finally help you through a whirlwind of potential flavour combinations to make your very own gin. All in the delightfully decorated surroundings of Portobellos homage to a Victorian gin palace.

Very very good drinks and a comfortable location. No matter if you join just for a drink or for some food too. The staff is looking for your needs and is serving fast. The food smells delicious and the drinks are excellent. The tender knows the drinks well and knows how to serve them! I will be back for sure!

Upmarket bar and restaurant. Good choice of Gin and cocktails. Staff were attentive as one would expect from a bar of this standard. Tapas are served in the upstairs bar and charcuterie in the downstairs bar. We tried the tapas and they were good. Overall a great experience. Budget about £10-£12 per drink.

Was taken here for their gin making experience followed by dinner.The experience was more detailed than expected with a vast wealth of gin history discussed. And then you get to make your own....how cool is that.Food was a pleasant surprise. Shared meal concept as we were a large group but was all great quality and rather tasty.Would go again!!

This was an absolutely lovely new pub that hosted the 7 of us for lunch. Although the food came out staggered with a some delay between dishes the staff were so lovely. They offered us complimentary dessert which was gorgeous.The food was very tasty and the staff are friendly, approachable, and very honest. Making it a truly lovely lunch.

We went to the ground floor bar/dining room and had amazing nibbles. It was reasonably priced and the staff was great. We had some incredible gin and tonics (their own gin is amazingand wanted to buy some. Their master distiller bottled some and saved it for us before being sent to bars. Great staff and great food.
