If you are looking for a nice American meal (breakfast or lunch or dinner), this is the place. We are for breakfast as a break from all the croissants. They have excellent pancakes and omelletes. Kid friendly serve and atmosphere. If you like orange juice without ice, make sure to ask.

Blasphemous, atrocious, and downright rude!!! This has been my third time here, and each time the food has been worse. I’m so confused how this place has 4 stars, omelette was overpriced and had a single piece of undercooked bacon and a single sausage cut in half. Forgot to bring out multiple parts of the meal and when we asked we were given a miniature sized cup of fruit. Also who serves eggs Benedict with ranch sauce, only the Diner I guess... I cannot bring myself to recommend this place so please do yourself a favor and stay away.

So so happy that I finally found a U.S. diner in Italy ! I have been craving some good American pancakes and coffee! Definitely recommend it. There are also a lot of breakfast combos and options and for lunch and dinner there are also many many options, including a few vegetarian alternatives.

Came here for an American style brunch and it did not disappoint. The food was good and we arrived quite late in the morning so it wasnt busy and our food arrived in good time. Pretty much what I was expecting, the restaurant itself was fine.

Tourist trap! Absolutely disgusting and inedible. Not sure how this place has 4 stars.. 1 star is more than enough. Lackluster staff and the food looked like it was made by a 5 year old — should’ve seen it coming with their terrible choice of orange-soda themed decor. We ordered three plates of different breakfast foods and not one was remotely appealing, appetizing or tasteful. The hash browns were drenched in oil, tomatoes were sliced in thick, uneven slices.. almost 3/4 inch thick. The pancakes were so bad that we had to order extra whipped cream to cover the terrible taste of them. Coffee was extremely watered-down and full of sugar. Their “breakfast sandwich” consisted of over-cooked eggs slapped onto a hard piece of multigrain toast. The “fruit” served on the side is a skewer with 1 old, PALE piece of pineapple and 2 warm grapes. They say they’re the first American diner in Florence... definitely should be the last. I couldn’t imagine how horrible the lunch/dinner is here after trying the breakfast.

American with kids looking for a break from pasta. Very polite staff. Burger and pancakes were good enough, fries were great. French toast and fruit sticks a disappointment. Probably wouldnt come twice, but hard to complain for the price and options you dont find anywhere else.

Very cute interior and menu! We were greeted and sat immediately, the service was great! I can’t in good conscience recommend the omelette, both omelettes we were served were incredibly burnt and rubbery. Three stars because they had great service, they offered to replace our meals without question, and when we didn’t want to replace them they insisted we paid for nothing despite drinking a full bottle of water by the time we left. From looking at the reviews, skip the breakfast and go right for their burgers!

We really enjoyed this place. It was such a nice change from constant pasta. We are from New York so it was nice to have a burger and fries for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. All of our meals here were delicious and waiters were very sweet. We would definitely go back again!

Come on... how is this 4 stars?! We’ve been here for a few weeks so decided to get some American style food for breakfast. This is by far the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. It’s literally microwave eggs with stale bread and undrinkable coffee. It also is more expensive than any other breakfast place we have been.

I AM SAVING YOU FROM A HORRIBLE MEAL!!! We wanted breakfast besides pastries, so my wife found this place. As soon as we got there it looked very unimpressive with plastic orange seats outside. We sat down and looked at the menu. Definitely NOT a diner menu, but I figured we would try it anyway. I had the Spanish Omelette with salsa and Pecorino, and a side of crispy bacon. My wife got the breakfast sandwich. The omelette was cooked to death. Completely brown on both sides. It literally had something like Pace Picante and way too much cheese. I love cheese, but if it was cheddar, mozzarella, Monterey Jack, provolone, it would have been fine. The cheese was overpowering and inedible. Less is more with a strong cheese (or mix the cheese with a milder cheeseMy bacon was super thin. I asked for it crispy and it looked like they just put it in the deep fryer for way too long. I couldn’t pick up a piece without it crumbling in my hand. Basically like powder. The “hash browns” were like a fritter with a few shreds of potato in it. (Not in a good wayMy wife’s “breakfast sandwich” was not good either. The fruit skewer did not look fresh either. We were given glasses for water, but no water. If you are charging $9 for a breakfast it should be edible. This was very disappointing. Avoid this tourist trap. We wanted a change in food close to home. This is nothing like an American breakfast. Save your money! I can only imagine how horrible the lunch is. 🤢🤮

Seems to have an extensive menu. We tried the bacon cheeseburger and avocado burger. Both were delicious. Great place to drop by when you need a break from pizzas and pastas.

Order French toast, straight garbage. Could not even eat it. Staff was poor. My friend order pancakes and they were cold and over priced. Worse restaurant I have been too in Italy. I regret going here and I highly recommend going someone else. Not worth the time or money. Piss poor.

Look, youre in Italy. You shouldnt be having American burgers, out looking for anything remotely like diner fair. But here we all are.Luckily for you, you choose this place where Italian sensibilities about quality ingredients translate into "elevated American diner" if you can even make such a sentence.Fries are from great potatoes, lovingly prepared with (smallside ketchup and without the very Italian "Du-e" mayo/ketchup mix.Burgers are not charred, but moist, juicy, and just seasoned enough. Buns are brioche and delicious, the mozzarella on the burgers made us laugh. Very Italian generous portions! The cheddar was even funnier, as it was essentially yellow mozzarella :PThe kids wanted burgers (not pizza or pasta again dad, ok?And I was glad to avoid the cardinal sin of McDonalds. Settling for the lesser sin of a burger in Florence. But hey. Better than the alternative!

Went there for Thanksgiving- it was fine that we waited a lot for our food but it was not good at all. The squash soup did not have any salt and was pretty bad. The mashed potatoes were the worst ever - no potatoes, they were rather from a premade mix. The turkey stuffing was missing. The apple pie was cold and it tasted like canned apples. In general the food was very bad and not cooked from scratch. The wine was good and the service as well. Would not go there again. I thought a restaurant and food in Italy cannot be bad but apparently if Americans do it...

As Americans we needed at least one hearty eggs-and-such breakfast and the Diner Firenze was just what we needed the morning after airport and airplane food. Eggs were fresh, coffee and tea cups were generous (larger than typical Italian coffee cups), service was quick, atmosphere appealing, colorful and filled with American memorabilia. Staff is courteous and welcoming. We liked it so much we visited twice during our short stay. Its a bit off the beaten path but worth the search. BTW, GPS guidance is shaky in the city. Thank you for giving travelers another breakfast option.

After sleeping in , we were looking for a nice Brunch spot in Florence Italy. This place was on trip advisor with good reviews. It was great for American breakfast and Brunch Food all day. It was in a nice area with plenty of shopping, other restaurants, and tourists attractions. The place is a nice size with a cute diner decor. There is both inside and outdoor seating. It is a popular spot, so there is a small wait time to be seated. Our waitress was very nice and professional. The food was delicious , plentiful, and reasonably priced.

This place is a sublime American restaurant in Florence! It had a fusion Italian-American decor and really felt like home away from home. Probably the only place to get 3 eggs and hash browns with refillable coffee anywhere in Florence. Delightfully friendly servers such as Luke and Solomon and a young lady. =)

I’ve been vacationing in Italy for 10 days and all I wanted was a breakfast that didn’t consist of pastries or a sandwich. Thankfully, I found this place in a Google search and it was exactly what I wanted. They had several different breakfast options with eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. and American coffee. They also had burgers, more American and UK-style salads, etc.I highly recommend this diner to anyone who wants an authentic and more complete breakfast. The service was great and the staff was very friendly! Menu was reasonably priced too.

It was so nice to find this place and we ate breakfast there twice when in Florence. Was nice to finally get eggs & omelets instead of salami & danish for breakfast. Staff was good and the prices are reasonable. Recommend.

Its my favorite "American Restaurant" in Florence. A little place deep in the alleys of via dellacqua which means unless you know the area its a little hard to find. Theres not a lot of brunch places in Italy thats why I love here. Pancakes, bacon, fries and a lot more! Their burger is homemade so itd amazing! And also check the cake they have for the day. It they have the carrot cake try it!

Its a great place to eat, study, at a good price, its always air-conditioned, and the owner is really friendly, speaks English and Italian as well. The food is really delicious and sufficient amount for lunch and dinner for a light eater and its open till 11pm.

This diner takes the Americana breakfast experience to a whole new level. It’s a blend of better quality ingredients that you would find back in the US, coupled with a service space that’s cool, hip without over doing the “buddy holy” theme. Compared to what you find at other restaurants in touristy Florence, the customer service provided by Luke our English host was first rate. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast in Florence.

If youve been in Italy for more than 2 weeks and have hankering for pancakes, waffles, eggs etc. American style, go here. The waiter from Leeds, England is a really nice guy. Great breakfasts. I had two. Yum.

Cool place! We arrived in Florence desperate for some brunch and were stoked we tried here out. Eggs Benedict was just what we needed - and they were both great! Coffee nice enough, too. Awesome service, and we were even given a map of the area and some tips of what to see in the city.

Good if youre wanting some "normal" food. They make a great mocha - probably the only place in Florence you can buy one. Overall enjoyable.

We were looking for an American style breakfast after spending 3 weeks in Italy! Just down from our apartment we found just the place! What a great find. Super decor, wonderful service, fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee to die for! We made the diner our place to start every morning off while in Florence. While we were there, met with the owner, Valentino! He also is partners in the Acqua Al 2 just around the corner...so we foundtwo gems in the heart of Florence. I highly recommend this special place.

The service was lovely, and the waitress was very friendly. The menu is very similar to that in American diners in the U.S. and the prices are about the same. The size of the meals are very big, which I really loved. And it was delicious. Im definitely coming back soon.

Friendly staff, good prices , good burgers , clean washrooms. Perfect after a Florence city trip. Ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard as much as you want for free !The fries could be a little bit more deep fried and crispy ;-)

We use to have American food at The Diner since many years. The best diner in Florence. Food delicious. Waiters are so kind. Really good even for families, they also have baby area with some game for kids.

The food is amazing, like how omelets should be in the US. The food was visually so appetizing, I wanted to stare at it longer. The service is awesome and the prices are very reasonable for the food provided. Highly recommend if you are craving am American breakfast experience.

The BEST burger Ive had...and Im from California. Definitely somewhere to visit in Florence if youre missing American food. The waitress who helped us was very friendly and genuinely pleased to be working there. Amazing all around!!

The diners been around for a long time and is well known in the city. I remember going as a study abroad student back in 2007. Now every time Im in Florence with Italian friends I take them to the diner to have an American style breakfast/brunch and its always a hit.

Good selection of juices, great coffee. Eggs Benedict were fair. Eggs and sauce as usual. Muffins and ham/bacon need improvement. Not sure how to describe the hash browns, they were unlike any ever encountered. The choice of a mixed green salad in lieu of hash browns was a better choice. Service attentive, premises clean.

Go here! Stop reading and just go here! Youre tired of trattorias and just need some good old American food to get you over that mid-vacation hump. You dont even have to tell your friends that you ate delicious and fresh fried chicken in the middle of Italy.Ok, here goes... We wandered around trying to find something that wasnt pasta or pizza for about 30 minutes until I found this place on Google. Its a bit off the beaten path and secluded from the busier areas of Florence but its worth it. You will find an English speaking staff that is refreshingly confident in their English and polite to boot. The menus are in English and they have great iced coffee. Read that again... They have ice. I didnt realize how much I missed ice until just now. The food is great and seems fresh from the non-processed fried chicken to the hand cut French fries. The inside is air conditioned as well. Oh and they played Johnny Cash the entire time we were there... and they serve brunch all day. We might even come back tomorrow.

Im not a fan of burgers, but here theyre pretty good. If you like the meat medium rare remember to ask for it: I didnt and my patty was a piece of cardboard. The cheesecake was disappointing.

I hated this place because it was the worst breakfast Ive probably ever had. The eggs Benny was horrible beyond belief. I have never wanted to not pay for something so badly in my life and half of our table talk was related to dining and dashing. My friend told people who were arriving to leave immediately because it was so awful. How can you mess up eggs, because this place managed to do it

We asked a shopkeeper to recommend a place for breakfast and we were told about The Diner. The food was fresh and good, the coffee was "American." My wife and I went back three days in a row and got to know the server, who spoke excellent English. I had Eggs Benedict the first morning and the Combo Breakfast the next two. My wife had poached eggs the first morning and switched to the Combo Breakfast the next two. In Italy, you must ask for the bill, they will not rush you from the table. We took our time and were not rushed.

Cute decor and relaxed atmosphere. Good food! Loved the bacon cheeseburger and the blueberry pancakes when I was missing home food so much! Definitely fixed that craving and improved my whole trip! Also, very good Oreo milkshakes! Staff is friendly and all speak clear English, but difficult to get a hold of after your meal. The burgers are so thick and the buns are soft, which is hard to find in Florence! Ive gotten two and, without asking, they were both cooked well through with little to no pink, just the way I like it! Very pleased! My friends and I are reluctant to admit that weve been here four times in the last week! And, students get a 10% discount!
