Marble Quay, St Katharine's Way, Tower Hill, St Katharine's & Wapping, London E1W 1UH, San Marino
Reconstructed, 18th-century timber-framed warehouse with pizza, balcony dining and large garden.
Great vibes, a good spot for brews if youre in the neighborhood. Historic building is both beautiful and functional, with indoor and outdoor seating, patio, balcony, and two floors for drink spots. Third floor has a nice restaurant with a varied menu. Really enjoy going here for the aesthetic and comfort it brings. Something about it!
The first time I went to the Dickens Inn was in 1997 and I love to go back there from time to time.Last week my cousin was in town with her husband and 2 children and I decided it would be a great place to take them. We turned up without a reservation but Moon managed to find us a table. We appreciated it massively and everybody loved the food. Thanks again Moon for going above and beyond!
Beautiful place for photo especially from outside. Nice flowers and views. However the food disappoints. Was in a group lunch so probably the mass production causes the drop in standard for the lunch. Was impressed with the selection of drinks at the bar counter but we only had 2 vouchers each for drinks
Lovely place for lunch. Second level is cosy for event, equipped with screen and projector.Food is alright. Service is prompt Good lunch..
Nice atmosphere inside and outside. I booked a table for 4 at 8pm. When we started to order almost 80% of the menu was not available anymore and they kept bringing people in. When we were ready for desserts they said that the kitchen wasnt open anymore and it wasnt 10pm. The quality of the food was good at least.
This charming pub is tucked away in St. Katherines Docks. We enjoyed some classic fish and chips and a few pints here. It wasnt too busy during our visit and we were able to enjoy our food and drinks outside enjoying the views of the Docks. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a pint.
The atmosphere is very good. Its 18th century building and it is authentic. However the ventilation wasnt the best and my clothes were smelling like the food they serve there after my visit. I had the rib eye steak that was supposed to be well done, but Ive recieved a medium one if not even medium rare. Tasty for most people, but I dont like seeing pink in my steaks. The service though was very good and everything was served and prepared fast.I would recommend to visit at least once. The view towards the St Katherines dock is incredible.
A very old beautiful pub. The food was very nice and the staff were friendly. The thatched roof and all the flowers outside are so pretty. The history of the pub is also amazing. Well worth a visit. Burger and chips, bowl of pulled pork nachos and 2 large cokes cane to £35.48. Pricey but worth it
We were warmly welcomed and served with amazing service and recommendations by Moon. We were there for my dads birthday and they made the evening very special with their kindness and sweet gestures. The food was delicious and the place is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely come back during our next London trip. Thank you again Moon and all the staff at The Dickens Inn!
Very enjoyable and relaxing Pub/Inn located near the Tower Bridge and just off a small marina. Great place for a cocktail at the end of the day.
Attractive pub from the outside, but a bit dark indoors. Mainly lagers to drink.
We had a nice walk around canal basin and stumbled upon this wee gem. Its located in an old wooden building which dates back 200 years. This hotel is not disability friendly . It is accessed up about 6 wooden steps. Theres 3 different levels each one has a balcony which is lovely on a nice night. The staff couldnt do enough to make sure everything went well. Food was amazing. Toilets are on every level and are clean and tidy. I will definitely dine here again brilliant 👏
the food was really good and the waiters / waitresses were really kind. it was a great experience and we came back after the first night to dine here again! also during our second visit, a waiter called moon was really nice to us and in general!
We had a great experience at The Dickens Inn - Grill Restaurant. They took our large group (11and the food was all served hot and at the same time. It was so delicious! Lots of beer options and a great menu for children. Service was also great with all staff helping and checking on us even though the restaurant was as busy. Lovely evening! Thank you!
Really disappointed. Had fish and chips when the kitchen first opened and it came with completely stale and rock hard bread.Sent it back to get the exact same plate back again with the same rock hard bread. It had obviously been left sitting out. As had the butter which was liquid. Mushy peas were gritty and had obviously been sitting out too all for almost £17! Ultimate nachos come with barely a spoonful of pulled pork.Such a shame as the building is beautiful and the view over the docks is lovely. Definitely give food a miss here.
We had a great dish in "the grill" restaurant on the third floor. The waitress is very kind with always smile. I had a traditional Cumberland sausage. So great!
Great location, span over 3 floors and still difficult to find place to sit! Outside amazing views everywhere you look
Had dinner in the top restaurant which was more expensive than we thought. Wanted a Sunday roast but the vegetarian option was not available. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would go for the Copperfield Bar next time. The pub was nicely decorated with flowers and thats special.
Beautiful looking pub overlooking the Quay. Nice area to have a walk around. The food was very expensive for what it is, but I guess your paying for the location.
Great looking pub in a fantastic location. Some of the stuff could have been nicer/more helpful others were very polite and professional. Food got mixed reviews. I was told there was no fish on the day however Ive seen many people having fish for lunch throughout our stay there, even people who arrived after us. Bbq chicken lacked flavour. Pizza, nachos and burgers were better.
Staying close by, searched for best pub in area, and this popped up. The burger meat was good, lettuce and tomato- soso. The photo is great, I added the gold crown for a little extra detail. 😉
Excellent service by our waiter, Moon, who was very attentive and came with great recommendations. Food was tasty and very fresh.
If you want to impress your first date you have to take her to the top floor the grill.Food was delicious and views were amazing and Yoana really looked after us and made iur evening unforgettable.
I visited lot of restaurants in london, but dickens inn is something special because of delicious food and customer care, A part from that we can see from there one of the best london view.
The ground floor, outside and balcony seating areas busy. Ordered from the lunch menu, nice meal reasonably priced but the drinks are city prices. The building inside has alot of unused areas mid floor, a bit like the Marie Celeste. Did not go to the upper floor but that area apparently has a more refined dinner menu. It was nice sitting and eating on the balcony watching the yachts sailing by. However, even though it is an old building needs refreshing in some areas.
Absolutely loved the feel and the ambience of this pub. Was a busy Saturday afternoon when I went (but lots of seating so found table), stopping off for a couple of pints on a walk down the North bank of the Thames (so didnt eat, cant comment on the food). Just a beautiful tranquil location by the marina. Special place.
Excellent Service Moon was very polite and gave us a 5 stars service beautifull place and nice view
Great service at an iconic location. To be seated at a table on the second floor balcony, enjoying the superb view of the docks, while being served excelent food by very friently and efficient staff really makes for a superb and enjoyable experiance. Staff was very accomodating providing us with a balcony table and attentive service. The Ultimate burgers were super tasty and large portions escorted by really crispy chips making the plate worth its value end even surpass it if the place and the spot is taken into consideration. Service was relaxed and not pushy. Food was delivered fresh and on time even though it was a busy sunny Saturday afternoon. Bravo.
Have been coming here since 1974 its a far cry from those days. Great beers, sawdust and believe it or not spittoons. Now there is a different much richer type of clientele, disappointed. I know its all about making money but the pub has slowly lost its charisma over the years. Maybe try it again, but its seems to be just full of new wave yuppies.
Very good service, great food (we had the Ultimate Burger and the Fish & Chips, good value with great views (its hard to believe you are in the middle of Londonand the drinks werent outrageous. We thoroughly enjoyed it and sat out on the top balcony
I went to the Grill restaurant upstairs for my friends birthday, and half way through eating my salad a slug slithered out of the leaves!I was shocked and disgusted and so was the rest of our table. The staff were very apologetic and allowed me to order another meal for free, but at that point I had lost my appetite.Overall I think the restaurant was very quaint and beautiful, just very unfortunate what happened which ruined everything.
Lunched here with the family on a Friday. Its in a nice location overlooking some docks with fancy boats. It looks really old, and is quite dark inside, but with TV screens usually showing sport.I had a chicken club sandwich, which was delicious. Others tried the all day breakfast, a very generous portion on a meal which they rated as pretty good, apart from the sausage.Ill definitely visit here again.
Enjoyed this quaint old pub once a warehouse and certainly enjoyed the Cider. The meals we ordered was delivered quite quickly and was pretty good. The pub itself has a few outside areas which enjoys the late afternoon sun. The menu will suit most tastes. It is in St Katherine docks which is a lovely place to look round.
The building is stunning. We went to the grill for dinner. One of our party had a roast beef dinner and said that he had had better, the person who had fish and chips said that it was very good. Im vegan, there was one vegan option for each course. I really didnt want a salad for my main so I had the tempaura cauliflower (starterand chips (a sideas my dinner. The cauliflower was good. However, when we had looked into it online there was an option for butternut squash and chick pea curry, but that wasnt on the menu when we arrived. The other person who is vegan ordered the salad and it arrived with chicken on. When we asked for it to be changed they said that they would take the chicken off ... I had to request that they make a new one.Would I eat there again? Maybe. It was expensive for what it was. Would be better if we could choose our meals from across the different menus
Whenever Im in the area, I stop here. This is my favourite pub in London. With a large selection of alcoholic and soft drinks and a varied menu there is something for everyone. Tucked away but only a short walk from tower bridge its easy to to forget youre in central London. Lots of outdoor seating and a view of tower bridge and st.catherines dock. It may seem a bit pricey but its worth every penny.
Try delicious Fish&Chips with the aromatic IPA ALE beer. The staff will always smile and ask if you are happy. Add this place to your "to do list" in London
We came here for a team lunch on Friday lunch. It’s 5-10min walk from WeWork at 1 St Katherine Way.It was quite quiet. I guess it probably likely to be the same quiet for work day lunches. So we ended up grabbing the seat with the best view in the balcony on the 1st floor. You can see the harbour with yachts right in front of you. On a spring day, it wasn’t too chilly with the jacket on.The food was relatively quick and okay quality. For a main and a drink, the bill came around £20 per person. The 5 star is definitely for the lovely environment and the wonderful view. Will come back if I work nearby again.
On the woman’s day for my lunch break I went in The Dickens Inn pub with my colleague.I was very supposed how beautiful is it and how big is it!!🤩 it so peaceful place where you can eat upstairs, outside with lively sun 🌞 us I did or inside with two floors. Is not at all chaotic but so relaxing and peaceful place. The service was so nice, very welcoming staff and with a big smile, as I like!I ordered 2 full all day breakfast and it was as well so great and delicious!I very recommend this place to the people they work or live around there. Is a fantastic place!
I went to the pub. It was nice and friendly. Dog friendly too! The drinks were nice. They have food as well, which came out quickly and was hot. Its just off the docks, and it looks lovely on the outside and nice on the inside. They have a foosball table in the corner and a tv. You dont need to dress up. You can go in trackies and trainers.
We got married at the Dickens Inn in October 2021 and cannot recommend it highly enough as a wedding venue. From start to finish, the team were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure the day went off without a hitch. We wanted a relaxed pub wedding and got just that! Very good value considering the location by Tower Bridge too.
So it’s cute but the fish and chips were just awful! Super fishy! I was starving so I tried not breathing in as I ate but it didn’t help. Even the chips tasted fishy. Maybe their burgers are good or maybe it was a bad batch of fish. I couldn’t eat them. Honestly this is just another cute pub in England. I would not go out if your way to go here to eat! There are many great pubs to choose from that have history, ambience and great fish and chips
Very quaint pub with a lovely view. If you can afford it, you can stay in one of the very fancy yachts docked outside. After a few pints you can go for a scenic stroll along the Thames.
Unless you take the backstreets beyond the main tourist traps it is unlikely that you will come across this beautiful inn. Always decked in greenery, there are spectacular views across the basin. In good weather the is an outside seating area too.
This is another unique building worth a visit when in this part of London. Had a few pints here - typical pricing for beer. We did not have food but stopped in mostly to see the building and get that old historic feel. It had low ceiling and large wooden joist etc.
Went to the Grill tonight on the 3rd floor, lovely place to eat, we were out on the balcony, really beautiful view of St Katherines Dockyard. Lovely food, wonderfully polite staff, we were served by a very happy gentleman so polite. Only rushed off due to change in my sugar levels. Hope to come back soon.
Came here for my 23rd Birthday meal. Really nice place down by the river in London Bridge, had a good experience, however the prices are just a little steep and this is probably down to the location. Food was great and very filling but I wouldn’t come here for a pint due to the prices. Didn’t also help I had a beer spilt on me but me and my mates had a very good evening.
Really nice views. Pretty good service generally. Prices are reasonable. Had problems with ordering drinks online but the manager explained what was going on. I personally feel like they could make certain things clearer like what time the garden shuts, last orders, what to do if the app fails. Just little tweaks which would increase the stars. Id definitely go back!!
Lovely pub with great location and character. I’ve been coming here for ages but today I remembered why it’s good to have a pint but not to eat here. Because it’s so known and always busy, the pub doesn’t make an effort for the quality of its food (the pub floor). For £16.50 it’s the worst most soggy fish and chips I’ve had in a Pub in London since I can remember. It’s a shame.
Nice characterful pub with great views of St Katherines Dock. The staff are managing covid social distancing very well with great table service. I dont know why I havent been here before- Highly recommended.
Great place, great area! Never been here before so was a bit worried how its gonna be with booking the table etc (as we were a bigger group of people). Very smooth process, polite staff and only good vibes as soon as we entered. The place is huge, 3-floor pub with the seating inside and outside + the garden downstairs. They show all the main games - like Euro 2020 now. We had a really good time and will certainly come back again, thanks!
