Down-to-earth gay bar featuring cocktails, draft brews & casual eats, plus regular events & a patio.
I love how this place never changes. Vibe is chill, staff are welcoming.
Posted this same review on yelp to make more people aware.....Went to the Depot Saturday night with two of my friends...everything went horrible very quickly.. The guy checking our ID greeted us and was really nice. Then we waited in line to get checked by security. The security lady check my purse first and gave us a story about how someone pulled a knife on a staff member and that they were implementing a new search policy. She asked for consent to pat us and I said yes. Not thinking anything of it. She patted me first but only did the chest area, which I felt was very inappropriate. We all felt very violated. Even the girl behind us yelled wooooh thats to much! WE WERE ALL IN SHOCK. We walked inside and came right back out. The guy that checked our ID was right behind us and even appoligized, saying "that was to much". We were still in shocked, trying to figure out what just happened to us. We went back after a few minutes to speak to a manager. On our way back, we watched how they were patting down the women at the bar next door because it was the same security company, MIB, but it was nothing similar to what we got as a pat down.We went back and we watched the depot let people in with no searches or pat downs, so we asked security for a manager. We spoke to the manager because we wanted him to be aware of what was happening, and we didnt want it happening to other people, but it was clear he didnt care to hear what we had to say.We also asked about where they got training from, and he responded with an attitude, Sacramento shireff department. He also stated that they will be having another training next month. I didnt want to continue the conversation with him beacuse the way he was responding was rude and obvious that he didnt care, so we said thank you and walked off.
The manager omar karimzada thinks its an okay practice to grope womens breast as a safety procedure to enter a club.Dont go there
Security made a friend feel very unsafe, suspect it was because she was a poc. The manager Omar did nothing when he was made aware.
My favorite spot for twenty years. The atmosphere is fun and the staff is the BEST!I love these guys.
Great LGBTQ bar. Staff very friendly
Super friendly door girl, nice staff, strong drink and good vibes
Love this place good drinks nice people bar clean bartenders nice very laid back place
The Depot is a friendly and welcoming neighbor gay bar. The drinks are good and the service was attentive. We were there after a Sunday Brunch so it was nice and mellow the way I like it.This is a cash only bar so make sure you hit the ATM on your way there. There is street parking and some nearby pay for use lots.
worst place i have ever been too doesnt matter on race religion they just assumed on ppl that are happy to be drunk and not let them in very presumtious on there part will never be back ir invite any of my friends or becoming friends at all.
Fun place. Good service. Nice little smoking patio.
A friendly local spot to chill out and have a nice drink.Patio in the back for extra room, has tvs with music videos on.RuPaul Drag Race airs on those nights.Wednesday is Trivia Night where you can win prizes with your team.Monday has free pool (they have 2 tables).Generally open by 3pm and generous happy hour pricing from 4 or 5pm until 7 or 8pm.Check it out, one of my favorite in Sac.
Pretty cool spot. They have pool and guys coming around selling jello shots. Patio is for smoking. Large open windows inside circulates the air so its not stuffy. Bathrooms on the other hand were stuffy.
Awesome bar! Super friendly bartender and great all day happy hour on Mondays. Good ambiance, great decor, good prices for the area. Definitely plan to come back.
KOOL PEOPLE..GREAT TIME.
Better than the merc. Too many straight people have been invading gay spaces and this is one of the last Havens in Midtown for lgbtq Folk. Good staff, cheap drinks and great atmosphere.
Great easy going gay bar. It has a very casual atmosphere.
As an out of Towner, the bartenders and patrons were GREAT!
Very friendly bartenders and great prices.
Excellent food and serviceAfter trying to go to The Brewers Cabinet and geting ignored up front for 15 minutes we decided to come hereThe service was great. Our server, Bethany, was awesome at her job and very nice. The food was also very good.We will definitely be back
Lots of good memories.
So love this bar....I just moved back to sacramento...after living over 30 years in SF...This bar reminds me of bars that I miss there....great bartenders...cool videos...just very cool all around...my only issue.....they dont open until 4pm on weekdays..other than that...perfect bar for me.
Great happy hour prices and a nice spot to chill with friendly people and great bartenders. They have a couple pool tables and an outdoor enclosed patio with heaters. Its a great location and a place to relax without worrying about having a place to sit.
Worst experience of my life. I went in ordered drinks with two of my girl friends we get them and then as I proceed to pay with my card I am then informed that it is cash only. There was not a single sign anywhere that stated as such or we wouldnt have any ordered anything becasue we dont carry cash. Then a guy was sitting next to us chatting up one of my friends while another friend went to go get cash to pay for our drinks the bartender then proceeds to tell us how much it would be but it sounded really high for what we all got come to find out the bartender had added the guy next to us drinks with our tab without making sure if he was with us or not. Then once we proceed to inform her that we didnt know that man and that we were not paying for his drink she tell us "its okay I got you" and then proceeds to still not give me the correct change back. I would not step foot in this place if you want decent service and someone that doesnt just assume all black people know each other becasue that is far from the truth.
Sunday nights with Marshall is one of my favorites and you cant beat Shawnies food available for those late night munchies. If you havent experienced either, youre missing out. Pic is of a half eaten quarter pound pepper bacon wrapped bacon Mac n cheese dawg...
Awesome !!!!
Nice place.
Deanna is the best next Ashley, then eric
Great guys
Great staff and fun, laid back environment.
The bartender pours with a heavy hand and the atmosphere is chill, everybodys welcome. Gotta love a place that plays music videos all throughout the night. The bartender was awesome we had a drink he never heard of and he was willing to make it for us, thats customer service. Highly recommend for anyone visiting SC, this is what a bar is supposed to be.
Had a great time. Cant wait to go back
