The Daily Grind Cafe & Art Bar - Art cafe in Halifax, Canada
The Daily Grind Cafe & Art Bar in Halifax
Description
Popular cafe, lovely decor very busy but clean and welcoming. Unfortunately I was too early to try the lunchtime menu so had a bacon and sausage sandwich instead of pulled pork Panini I had envisaged, hence 4*. Staff are efficient and polite will definitely revisit.
MoreBad service, went here for lunch and know one acknowledged us, even though they werent busy. Lady who served us last time was lovely. Shame she wasnt in todayLast time I came in I was told that we had our orders taken at the table. Wont be returning. Should of at least acknowledged. I think they were about to close so didnt bother to come to us.
MoreA favorite haunt of my aunt. Food is good. Decor nice, though clearly presented more towards female tastes. Staff very clearly know what they are doing.
MoreService was brilliant, the staff were top notch could not fault it at all. When dining in the daily grind I had a strawberry milkshake and a hoi sin duck panini the milkshake was made with ice cream and lovely and cold and had a lot of flavour and the panini was warm crusty and flavoursome
MoreWhat a wonderful place exceptional value for money with excellent choice of food and drink, The staff extremely friendly and very helpful to oblige
MoreFantastic little cafe, lovely selection on the menu. Nice atmosphere inside too.
Came in for a coffee and a milkshake with my so, service from a young man called Jack was faultless ! Very polite and efficient staff ! Drinks were fantastic, beautiful decor! Will definitely come again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MoreGreat service. Steak & Philly baguette really good! Though a bit large for 1 person.
MoreA lovely spot to take a break and enjoy the tasty food in this bright and airy coffee/tea shop offering a good food menu. Staff are jolly and attentive.
MorePretty good coffee and some nice food options
Weak tea, a mix up of orders and poor service to name but a few things. The decor was nice, but unfortunately I wont be coming back here.
MoreLovely place to eat in or outside. Food was excellent plenty of choice served with a smile. Very friendly staff
MoreDont order egg royal twice I had to send them back ( hard boiled the chef didnt even come and say sorry shocking 😩yes you never charged me for it because it was inedible
MoreI was taken to this lovely place for my birthday lunch by my sister. fantastic service, great food, great flat white reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
MoreVery good just for tea and cake will update when Wednesday there.
We stopped off gir a bite to eat at the Daily Grind. My husband had Smoked Sslmon & Scrambled egg this was absolutely delicious. I has cheddar cheese & Gammon Ham Panni with Salad and crips. Which again was delicious. Good portions and nice place to eat very good prices too
MoreDisappointing.Initial told they were shut but then changed their mind.Ordered baguettes and sweet potato fries and were told there were no baguettes but we could have paninis. When the food arrived we were told there were no SPFs!We ordered chips but these arrived half way through eating our meal.To cap things off we were charged for the SPFs which were dearer than the chips.Food ok, service confused.
MoreGreat place great food reasonable price 100% recommended
What a pity! Everything looked perfect: tables outside, yummy food and great reviews. We arrived at 3.35pm only to be told (and quite grumpily we couldn’t be served (not even takeaway coffees offered). The cafe actually closes at 4pm and it was a gloriously sunny afternoon with lots of customers still enjoying the delicacies.
MoreLove the cappuccino here,wiĺ call in again the next time I am in Lichfield.👍🌝
MoreLovely place with a great atmosphere and some wonderful quirky touches. Tasty well prepared hot food and delicious cakes. Very reasonably priced too.
MoreFithy coffee. Absurd that a place that sells itself on coffee passion should have no idea how to make a latte. Have they never drunk one somewhere else and wondered why it is so much better? Maybe pay less attention to decor and more to product.Tow stars as apart from coffee quite nice.
MoreVery nice place. Nice staff friendly.
Fair prices, nice place, staff attentive. Member of staff named Sarah provided excellent customer service, an asset to the place!
MoreI went there with my daughter & 2 granddaughters, it was nicely decorated but that’s the only thing I would give 5 stars for. From the moment we walked in we wasn’t greeted we just sat at a table & they are not child friendly in there as my youngest granddaughter is only1 we wasn’t offered a high chair, the owner was very unwelcoming towards us, he obviously doesn’t have young children or any at all. The food was very average I ordered the pulled pork which was served cold , the jacket potato had been warmed up it wasn’t fresh, & prices are expensive I don’t mind paying for food if it’s good. To cap it all we will not be visiting here again purposely for the customer service from I presume the owner, the young girl was very nice I have to add, what a shame
MoreAbsolutely loved it! The food and drinks were amazing quality and came within a short time!! Service was great too and the interior is picture worthy
MoreWe are moving to Lichfield soon so popped up for an afternoon. We had a lovely lunch here, which was excellent value for money and service was fantastic. Staff were really friendly and the overall look of the cafe is stylish and modern. Will definitely be coming back when we have moved house!
MoreGreat menu in a Friendly warm café, all yhe staff were very happy and helpful. The food was well cooked with lovely flavours. Well done ✔
MoreOnly popped in for a coffee, which was good as was the service. Menu looks very nice will return to try it soon.
MoreGluten free breakfast was excellent. Cappuccino was very good - nice and hot ( so many places serve it too lukewarm these days ). Service was efficient and friendly. Standards are high on Bird Street and the Daily Grind is well up there IMO.
MorePopped in for lunch today. The chicken club Sandwich was delicious and served with a tasty little salad, crisps and coleslaw. Chips were lovely and chunky - pipping hot. Look forward to visiting again when next in Lichfield.
MoreWhat a little gem of a place....loving the decor. The waitress was so lovely and efficient- she was on her own and she owned it!! Great food at a reasonable price - highly recommend
MoreCame here the other week had a breakfast with a coffee and I must say the breakfast wasn’t at all impressive beans were cold, bacon seemed dry, and for what you pay for it’s not really acceptable. And to top it all off the coffee wasn’t nice when I told the lady at the counter she seemed quite rude about it and didn’t really seem happy about making me a new one.
MorePopped in for an early lunch today. The excellent sharing platter was swiftly cooked; well done chef, expertly served with a smile; well done front of house serviceand decent wine prices too.Pleasingly different decor scheme topped it off.Anybody would think I had shares in the business !!Will be popping in again.
MoreI had the avocado smash and the portion size was extremely small. I opted for the "grilled" halloumi topping but am pretty sure it never saw the grill and was just added cold - see photo! The menu also states that you can add a regular hot drink to your breakfast for £1 but we were charged full price for ours, so check your bill!I also felt like the staff were a little annoyed that we were ordering breakfast at 11:50 as it is only served until 12noon?
MoreThe fish and chips my daughter and I ordered we couldnt have as no fish. My daughter ordered Lasagne, but that was not available. I had cheeseburger, which was nice. My daughter had fish pie, which was frozen in the centre. It was replaced. Apologies were made. The place and staff were very nice.
MoreFound this gem of a coffee shop and cafe when visiting Lichfield- Great service and food. Went for breakfast- Eggs Benedict - really good so we went back for lunch - Sharing Platter and Dirty Nachos. Server was lovely and the food again was spot on.
MoreFirst time I came I was very impressed. Staff was friendly and food was really goodI decided to go again and even recommended it to friends that came with me and we were all soo disappointed. We got the Caesar salad both times and it was as if it was a completely different place. I did ask if they changed their menu because it was that different. The portions were significantly smaller also and for 8.95 per salad, I was a bit disappointed with that and the quality this time around. Also we had lemonade, coke, and apple juice. All with a glass and ice. Poured my coke in and not long after saw a Diet Coke bottle top floating in my drink (we didn’t even have thatmust have been in my glass with the ice because I didn’t notice till the ice had melted. :/ the portion sizes were that small we were all still hungry afterwards. Was really upset because before this visit I thought this was our new go to place but I don’t think we will be returning.
MoreI visited Lichfield on the 4th of July I came across this little Gem of a coffee shop . My wife and I were extremely impressed with the cleanliness and all of the safety measures that had been put in place . We sat inside due to the weather the tables had been freshly wiped and We were given a menu after a couple of minutes our orders were taken . Our drinks came almost immediately followed by our food 5 minutes later , after a couple of minutes we were asked if everything was ok with our food our plates were emptied we could not find any fault. My wife visited the ladies whilst I settled the bill on her return to the table she stated even the toilet is spotless … if you are in Lichfield do not pass this place by we will definitely return and will also recommend to our friends … Thank you for making our visit pleasurable Colin and Liz
MoreTook my daughter here 3rd July 2021 after visiting here before and had okay service, got to say today was not a pleasant experience, we was told we could sit anywhere was not told to use the check in barcode service, we both sat at a table which was disgustly dirty menus on the table from previous customers their was a member of staff sat at the counter whilst another one went outside to serve the few customers they had, after 5 mins without any acknowledgement from anyone my daughter said can we go somewhere else to my relieve I said yes, what made me chuckle as we was leaving a member of staff decided to come out and say thank you hope you enjoyed, my reply, enjoyed what we havent even been asked to order anything. Would I go again....nope!! Just to clarify their was only myself and my daughter inside.
MoreFirst time visiting today, what a beautiful tasty breakfast. Lovely place and wecoming staff well done will be visiting again soon.
MoreNice food but really small portions. Left really hungry. Potatoes leathery like they were several days old. Nice coleslaw though and delicious pulled pork but barely enough to feed a child. We left really hungry
MoreGreat breakfast, had eggs Benedict. Service great. Very clean and staff very aware of social distancing. Girl on the till was constantly using anti bac.
MoreThe Cappuccino was way hotter than it needed to be and sadly on the watery side. The cheesecake however was good and service was fast.Hope they will improve their coffee game and provide more ecofriendly take away packaging in the future.
MoreA very new coffee shop, came here before for Bfast, which was lovely...went in today on my own, got served very quickly, really friendly staff, cappuccino was just lovely...really great for vegans has so much choice for milk, eg sota, coconut etc to name a few...great to meet fruends and family. Definitely cone again, thank you for a lovely experience
MoreBeautiful little cafe, only popped in for coffee and cake. Decor looks great and the cakes were delicious, coffee was a little too bitter for me personally. Worth popping into though if youre passing and need some refreshments 👍
MoreIt looks very nice and modern. The menu selection is quite decent. Have only been once for soft drinks and cake, but they do breakfast, meals and drinks.
MoreA bright and cheerful coffee shop with plenty of food choices ranging from gluten free breakfasts to paninis, jacket potatoes, and strong espresso coffee. The seats are comfy and not jammed together so there is plenty of space for everyone.
MoreA great, nicely decorated cafe. The coffee was actually good but very poor service. We arrived and we were ignored and treated more like a nuisance than customers. We asked for a decaf capuchino and two regular cappuccinos. The waiter mixed them up and the Barista did not care which one was the decaf. Pointed to one haphazardly and did not even reply to questions. At the end it was not decaf and I had anxiety the rest of the evening. We are not returning.
MoreWe visited the daily grind for lunch. We had been several times when the place was the lounge. We chose a nice outdoor table and ordered quickly inside the cafe. Drinks arrived quickly but we waited over 1/2 hour for food. I had chosen a jacket potato with tuna and my husband a philly steak and cheese baguette. What a disappointment!!! My jacket was tiny, easily would have fitted into my hand. The salad garnish consisted of leaves and nothing else. I did ask the waitress if that was correct and she said that was all it came with but she would feedback. For £5.55 you would expect a little more. My husbands baguette was just awful. Advertised as "steak" in reality was plastic packet beef. The red cabbage coleslaw was inedible. At £7.95 this was very poor. There are lots of places to eat in Lichfield and due to the tourist market most cafes are a little overpriced; but we felt this was poor food at over inflated prices. We wont be returning anytime soon.
