We’ve been regulars at this pub for several years now - we’ve seen a great change since new staff James, Matt and Rachel arrived; all are so friendly and have created a great atmosphere in the pub 👍🏼

Great pub for the family. Great for watching live sport, nice food and they put on brilliant events for kids. Worth going to.

Change of staff, only 2 on but service was good. best meal weve had for a long time. Served on warm plates, Gammon, Scampi, Fish, all cooked and served well.

Welcoming community pub, great beers good food and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely reccomend.

Everything you could want from a local pub for a Sunday roast or Saturday game. Spacious outdoor area. Edit: when I visited yesterday for the whole evening there was no soap in dispensers in gents wc and paddle on the floor coming from the toilet :(

Dreadfull place ...no staff two of us didnt get any food and us who did food was Luke warm and not really eatable...would not go there again ..sorry

The pub wasnt busy and I couldnt see anyone ordering food. Our burgers still took over an hour to arrive from ordering, I wonder what the chef was doing in the time from receiving the order to us asking the bar staff twice where the food was.

Food was ok. Was wait for food but told that in advance. Bench chair cushions could do with a good clean though.

Visited over the weekend and the service was outstanding. The food came out quickly and tasted absolutely delicious we will definitely be back again soon.

So sick of waiting....and waiting....and waiting....and waiting to get served when theres more than two people at the bar. Will stop here out of convenience on occasion but unless theres some drastic changes I wouldnt choose to come here.

Found online as one of few that also do takeaways. Im disabled and suffer chronic pain, use crutches as balance not good. Thought Id treat myself. Ordered, then waited 20 minutes and still hadnt appeared. Went back to bar and told its literally on its way now, wont be a minute. Took a further 10 minutes to arrive. 2 of the 5 roasts hard in middle, pigs in blankets sausages tasteless.Lied to by staff, kept waiting 30 minutes, atleast my dog got the treat I never. I wouldnt bother. Youd think being takeaway it would be so much faster.

Ate here a couple of weeks ago and the food was absolutely disgusting. After waiting over an hour for our food when it did come.out it was inedible. The chicken tikka masala was cold and tasted it was from the microwave the lasagna was burnt and had a funny taste too it. Will not be visiting here in a hurry again....

Food was lovely and the staff were friendly. Huge stain on the cloth seating area....and plenty of holes ... bit off putting.

Great place for friends and family, always welcoming and staff always go the extra mile for customers. Amy is the stand out employee as creates events & activities, which are always fun!! Keep up the good work!!!

Have had good Sunday carverys in the past but the food and service recently is very poor.We were a table of 4.After waiting for 1 hour the 1st meal arrived which was edible.30 minutes later the 2nd meal arrived but food was cold so was returned to the kitchen for microwave warm up.3rd meal arrived but with wrong meat so was returned.By the time the 4th meal arrived everyone else had finished eating. This was a cold inedible chicken curry which was abandoned.Sorry Crab Apple, you wont be seeing us again.

We were a group of 12, we ordered all at the same time, the bar staff never had a clue what they were doing, ask numerous of times for a umbrella, never received, we waiting nearly two hours for food, four plates came out, as we went in to ask where the rest of the food was they never even had anything else ready, four bloody plates in over two hours!!!! Absolutely ridiculous! We got our refund. Just a heads up to anyone who’s looking for a nice pub, with play area in these lovely six weeks holiday avoid Crab Apple Pub!

Went in today for the first time ever, unfortunately the last also. The place was a disappointing level of clean and, after initially ordering drinks we changed tables. We then waited over half an hour before I asked how long food was going to be - wouldn’t have minded but they were absolutely not busy. The girl said that they had it down as the previous table - I did mention we had changed when ordering and bought it over. I’m pretty confident it had sat under a hot lamp for a little while as it was not great. Mine was burnt and there was something completely missing from my partner’s meal.There are some great Greene King pubs but unfortunately I’m not sure this is one of them.

I moved my poker league to the crab apple at the start of the year. They have provided great service every Tuesday night whilst upto 20 of us play poker. Thanks to Amy N and the team for accompanying the group and managing these busy nights, even doing table service whilst we play most night. Top service 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very dissapointed. Service today was very slow. Meal wasnt worth the money. Tried to complain but wasnt acted upon.Wonvt be returning

Lovely Sunday lunch, burger stack excellent and fish and chips lovely, very happy family all round.

What an amazing place. I became seriously ill in there and the staff were so amazingly competent and caring. I will definitely go there again.

I have seen some bad reviews for the crab apple lately which is a total shame because I have had nothing but good experiences here, today we visited again and the roasts were 10/10 staff are friendly and welcoming also! Would defo recommend! The venue has a pool table and park so perfect for family’s.

After trying 3 pubs for food last minute, without success. We decided to try a carvery in the hopes we wouldnt need to book and we came across The Crab Apple and very glad we did, friendly staff and really nice food. The roasters were especially lovely. If I lived nearer would definitely go again. Unfortunately I live in Manchester :-)

Stopped here for food, wish I didnt bother now, ended up waiting over 2 hours for chicken wings, onion rings and the smallest portion of mac & cheese even though hardly anyone was eating, tables was sticky, menus was filthy and in this current situation youd think a little more attention would be used in keeping things clean

Called in on the off chance and hadnt booked. Lovely bar staff found us a table and we had a lovely carvery. Used to go here regularly before lock down and am so glad its back again. Will definitely be regulars again.

Were always looked after when we visit. The staff and Maggie are always supportive of my husbands disability needs whether with food, seating or table service. Have to commend Jordan who in our experience has given us admirable and professional service at all times. Would definitely recommend.

Bar staff were really friendly. Food came quick. I had the Bombay Bird Burger and it was delicious!

Went for Sunday roast with my parents. Has a good selection of food at a very good price. The pub feels a bit run down however everyone was really friendly and accommodating to my Mum who is in a wheel chair. They also have a lot of TVs if you like sport. The beef was on the well done in terms of cooking but nice. I really liked the roast potatoes which were crispy. Also the Cauliflower cheese and broccoli were good. The Brussel sprouts were a bit soft for my liking. So based on price and quality I would push to a 4.
