The Corner - Bar in Auckland, New Zealand
I am a regular of The Corner and never let down! I had my 30th Birthday here and it was perfect! We were well looked after and the platters were perfect for feeding a large group! Special shout out to Sarah who is an absolute super star and went above and beyond in every way possible!
Fab friendly staff. Competent. Great prices.awsome for a small gathering. We had about 50 for a birthday. Cant rate them any better than q10 out of 10.
A friendly local happy hour restaurant
Excellent service. Really enjoyed it. Love you guys
really love to see lovely staff again soon
Really busy for a Monday nightAmazing serviceLoved the open fire - so good for a cold winters nightFood is absolutely delicious and caters well for vegetariansCocktails some of the best we have tried
Great service. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Highly recommend 👍
Food is so good, very friendly staff.
Top class hospitality, food and drinks. Really enjoyed Monday at the Corner by the fire 🔥
Excellent food, drinks and hospitality. Bartenders are super friendly and amazing. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommended 👍
Came here for the Tuesday quiz night and the whole experience was incredibly poor. Upon arrival, we were seated at our table and waited 20 minutes wondering if The Corner offered table service. Went to the bar, and asked - the staff member claimed that they did. Ended up having to place our order at the bar. When the food did arrive, it was very underwhelming and was not worth the price on the menu. The steak was bland and overcooked (asked for medium, received well). The TCs classic burger was fine - but nothing remarkable. Cheese rolls were good, but incredibly overpriced for only having received three of them. Tacos were once again - fine - but not great. The quiz master really struggled as well with audio problems where the presentation audio blasted over the bars music. A pretty awful time with that.Thought this could be the new weekly pub quiz location, but the search continues.
My husband and I had an amazing time at the Corner for Tuesday Quiz Night. Our server had the best attitude and the whole team made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was great, service was even better and everything from the restaurant and bar came out very quickly! We will be back once again next week. Thank you !!
Friendly service and nice food. Great cocktails!
Service from the girls was spot on..However the food was below average...Friends burger was bad...Sent my steak back twice still not cooked as requested... looks like a great place for a drink just dont eat there. Cheers.
I went there around 8.30 pm on a Wednesday, walked around, had a look at the place, checked the menu.Place was not full.My presence was not acknowledged at all, no staff to ask if I was looking for something or if I would like something.Strange.
Great little pub, great friendly staff, nice food and the best mulled wine Ive had in years. Great job guys.
We used to come here a lot a few years back as we lived across the road but after going back recently its sad to say we will likely never go back. The steak and chips meal that we ordered medium well came medium rare, cold , was tiny and was served with two pieces of broccoli and less chips than a McDonalds small fries. We also ordered the largest burger on the menu, which was average but also came with a pathetic amount of fries.Sadly despite the fantastic atmosphere and decor we left hungry and felt ripped off. One of our favorite old haunts has slipped very far indeed.
Great spot, great food and beer, great service
So cosy and warm. The fire in the back is a treat. Great vibe. Service is good. Will be coming back
Very nice place to stop it to.Very clean and great staff
Love the platter, perfect for me and my husband a light lunch, thanks Patrick!
Service was good here. My first time. Good pub Grub. Relaxed atmosphere. Will do it again
Good service, food was great and loved the atmosphere!
Got to give a five. Super service for a birthday lunch. Fab food ,great serviceLoved it
Amazing Food really enjoyed the Sunday at the Corner Remuera. Great ambiance and top service. Both lovely bartenders and great cocktails. Definitely recommended.
Since Jason wrangled pizzas at Seymours this watering hole has gone from strength to strength (except, you know, that one time back in the day). Now, with a young, friendly, on to it staff and high proprietor engagement this has to be one of the best neighbourhood bars in the country. Bronson made me write something...but he didn’t tell me what to say - and I mean this :).Keep it up or I’ll have to sell my house and find a new neighbourhood.
Such a cool place to have a relaxing drink with friends. Loved the waiter Bronson who was not only entertaining but amazing at his job
Great place for a drink after work! Awesome customer service, especially from that Bronson bloke - dont let his looks fool ya, hes very onto it
Fantastic location, experience, and atmosphere. If you haven’t visited The Corner, you’re missing out. The staff here are phenomenal, particularly Bronson, who will readily tend to your every need. Lovers of Little Creatures, search no longer: you have found your favourite pub!
Great food and drink options, a welcoming atmosphere and excellent service – made for an all round enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back!
The Sangria at this bar was incredible and food was immaculate. Our tender Bronson was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again
Amazing experience at The Corner. Bronson, our bartender, was nothing but helpful and full of knowledge. Will be coming back to see him. Would recommend!
Not what we expected but exceeded any expectations. Bronson, our server, was wonderful. Efficient, humorous and knowledgeable. Food was lovely. Yep, well be back.
Excellent local pub. Great service, good beer and food is nice also. What more can you ask for?
What a great place to meet friends for drinks and eats. The food is outstanding, they have an impressive wine list and their staff are incredible. Its great that its just outside of the city centre but still close enough for a business lunch without the hassle of searching for a car park. Will definitely be back!
Ah such a good experience here. The waiter was amazing and the food is great :I ordered the pork but personally preferred my girlfriends steak. The chairs are comfy and the drinks are well made :)Lovely local pub to have a meal at! :D
Delicious burgers! (This one is a veggie burgervery chilled atmosphere! All round awesome :)
Just been there to watch bronze final of RWC2019. Quite good atmosphere. And the service is good as well. Food menu covers different choices from 5 dollars cheap drink to expensive spirits. I like it as there is no smoke.
A great bar to have around the corner from home. Really chilled out vibe, staff were super friendly and even put the netball on for us on a Friday night when we just asked for a cheeky score update. Had the fire roaring which was great on a wet winters night. Good selection of whiskey, and they have Guiness on tap. Enough to keep this guy very happy.
Surprisingly rude staff tonight after coming here for a while. Food is average... Would never get anything fried as it always tastes like fish from mixing oils/not changing out the oil. Other than that, average suburban bar.
Viewing of GoT Monday evenings is pretty cool. Beside wines and ciders, we enjoyed great food and nice dessert there. Top notch bar in the neighbourhood :))
The food was good and service pleasant. There were not many people there and it was relatively quiet inside so thought a nice relaxed late lunch.... then they turned on the soccer for the bar man and two locals to watch through the sound system full bore.Ahhhhhh end of said quiet lunch, surprising as there is a sports bar 5 meters across the road!
I liked it. Easy to get a beer and find a good spot to sit down. Didnt try the food (not sure if they do any?). Reasonably good value for that part of town. Would be great if they started tabs and offered table service.
We use a private room out back for our toastmasters meeting.. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The room is set up well and the meeting runs smoothly. However the establishment has now started a quiz night on the same night we need so either we need a new day or a new venue.. Most of us would love to stay so we will look at other days.. All the best.. Well done
It was refreshing to find reasonably priced drinks, particularly the local beers of which there is a fine selection. I havent tried the restaurant yet but on checking others there is a really diverse selection on the menu. All round a top venue and the music is great also.
Generally great. Bar staff made extra effort to deliver drinks to table due to line up. Big Samoan dude called "Mario " was incredible singer. He made the evening even if somewhat sheepish about his talents
Not a bad place with an old English pub style theme. I ordered the haloumi salad which was healthy (ahemhowever there were plenty of other tasty looking dishes I saw on other peoples tables (baby lamb shankswhich makes me want to try again in the near future.
All style over substance. After much press hype about this place now serving breakfast on the weekend, we thought wed try it out. Firstly, their website has not been updated with the new opening hours (2 weeks out of dateso had to call ahead to check if they were open. This was an indication of the level of service and attention to detail you can expect at The Corner. The decor and styling is on-point and gorgeous. Shame about the dire service and the misleading menu. There were more staff than customers, yet it was impossible to flag someone down to ask for some more water, ask for another round of coffee, ask for some milk to go with the tea, ask for clarification on the odd brown stuff that was put down on the table - looked like a cube of fudge, could have been honey. Turns out it was burnt nut butter. Thank goodness nobody had a nut allergy! Coffee was inconsistent- some came with an attempt at latte art and others not. Requested a single shot flat white which came with the standard two shots. The coffee itself was nice. And then theres the stingy portions - for a dish just shy of $20 , the single piece of toast that accompanied the smashed (which came whole ?!avo was tragic. And the $6.50 for a side of bacon , 2 of the tiniest rashers of bacon.Nobody came at any point to check if we were okay or needed something. And at the end we had to again struggle to flag someone down to bring the bill. All such an effort when Sunday brunch with friends should be chilled and relaxing. We felt so bad about our choice of venue that we decided paid for the whole table. And when we paid, nobody asked "was everything okay?" as it is customary to do in hospitality.Such a pity as this place has the potential to be wonderful. In Auckland we are spoilt with an array of excellent cafes so theres no need t o have to put up with such disappointment, this was definitely our first and last visit to The Corner.
Fabulous menu!! Very tasty with lots of fresh healthy options and a great variety. Atmosphere was buzzing, and staff were really helpful, especially the french guy. Kombucha on tap is the best around- and a expert wine list. New regular !!
Great spot with a premium selection of tap beers and impressive wine list. Nice relaxed atmosphere and a great location. Really friendly and helpful staff. The food was amazing and will definitely be back!
