Moresuch a great view in a calm area of the city!
Yup, truly a useful bridge over the canal in downtown Ottawa. It serves a a main commute route for students, for people who work downtown and for folks just going out for a walk ,run or bike along the paths. The sight of the canal as well as the parliament in the distance are nice also.
MoreIt is beautiful and I are over the whole custom of locking a lock with yours an your soulmates names engraved ,to the bridge rails

Everything on the Rideau us amazing
Great little bridge, very picturesque view of the canal from the bridge
Amazing View. I took beautiful pictures.
Great spot, beautiful sights. With social distancing measures it can be difficult to stop and take in the sights without infringing on others space BUT if theres a chance to safely snap some pictures I would highly recommend! Sunset shots of the Parliament and Chateau Laurier with the Canal in the foreground are amazing.
MoreAwesome view. Day or night.Easy access to UOttawa, Rideau Canal, and LRT.
Really cute views and stairs leads down to a closer canal walk.
Super easy to use. Tired of getting soaked crossing the canal? The Corktown footbridge is the answer.
MoreNice bridge. Good view of Château Laurier especially in the evening.
Great view and a very nice part of town. Next to the university station as well.
It was very exciting to skate on the Rideau Canal!!! Good fun vibes. Only down side was I stood in line for 40 minutes for a sled that was advertised on the truck and they didnt rent them there :(

MoreSweet little footbridge over the Rideau Canal. Very scenic.
Nice view, bring lock to left :)
It was a nice bridge to walk over and to see the locks people have left on it
It gets you from here to there and even back again. A great place to store your unused locks. Also a great place to try keys you have lying around that dont seem to open anything.
MoreOnly 5 min from home. Then walk or ride down east side of canel to our new foot bridge at Clegg. Have a bite at the Ritz. And go home
MoreCute bridge over to Ottawa University with so many lovers locks. Super cute and gorgeous view down the canal to the Fairmont Laurier.
MoreAside from a beautiful walking path, this bridge is also known as" Love Locks Bridge". Take your sweetie and a padlock
MoreNice bridge, good view and easy provides easy access to both sides of the canal.
We are used to reviews of cars and smartphones, so why not bridges and the experience of crossing, gazing at views made possible and climbing them? Here is mine: from the U of O side up the bike path, the hairpin turn and to the start of the bridge, the experience unfolds and the view is a surprise every time. There is invariably someone enjoying the scene and taking a picture or milling about. It is a destination and a success. Continue on and it can be a bit dramatic as cyclists, pedestrians and flaneurs alike vie for the right to get where they need to go first. Momentum seems to have the upper hand. But that’s not the bridge’s fault. Stay tuned for the review of the crossing. Other notes are that the locks are a bit romantic, if derivative and a possible pun as well. Again, something organically formed. This simple structure has transformed the experience of living in this particular part of Ottawa. If you haven’t yet, you should make it part of your weekly routine.
MoreA very nice and functional bridge that sees lots of traffic from pedestrians with strollers, runners and cyclists. All the padlocks give this newer bridge a touch of character. It also offers nice views of OttawaU, Chateau Laurier and the Rideau Canal of course.
MoreIts beautiful scenery....the 🔐 bridge is not as nice as the one in paris but still nice place
MoreInvaluable pedestrian and cycling link connecting Sandy Hill and Centretown. Awesome views up and down the Rideau Canal.
MoreA nice spot for a good view of the canal, and our very own version of the locks of love in Paris.
MoreScenic spot along the rideau canal. Very convenient for getting from Centretown to UOttawa as well. Hoping they reopen the stairs soon (they were closed during the winter).
MoreIts a bridge, gets you from one side of the canal to the other. It either works or it doesnt, hard to not give it 5 stars if it works.
MoreMost European cities have built bridges over their canals centuries ago. Well, here in Ottawa it takes decades to get one built over the canal. This is one of them and its very convenient from Sandy Hill to downtown Ottawa. Im grateful for this one.
MoreBridge across the Rideau canal in Ottawa, built by Cork men! Many died during the construction of the canal. Well with a visit. Try a cycling tour around Ottawa, definitely the best way to see this lovely city.
MoreIts a bridge!!! Over the canal,no less. Most cities in Europe that are divided by waterways have hundreds of canal bridges. In fact they form an iconic image of Europe. Here in Ottawa it takes decades of petioning all levels of government to get a simple bridge constructed. The corktown bridge was close to 25 years in the making, if not longer.
MoreGreat spot for photos of the Rideau Canal. Also convenient pedestrian and bike access across the canal. Soon it will provide easy access to the LRT from the Golden Triangle area of Centertown.
MoreCentral location and an Uber romantic vibe at night. Great place for proposals and photography.
MoreBeautiful romantic bridge that you can put your love locks on! :)
Im going to explain the concept of the lock bridge. You and your significant other are supposed to lock locks together as a means of true trusted friendship by the locking mechanism of each lock. Thus ensuring the strong bond of metal to heart ♥ engagement... These bonds are few and far between which should not be taken lightly. Stay true to your heart and LOCK-ON FRIENDS 😎
MoreGreat pedestrian/cycling bridge that crosses the Rideau Canal. Its pretty high traffic during the University school year (Fall / Winteras its situated adjacent to University of Ottawa.Youll want to check out the locks that are being attached to the bridge. Very cool.
