The Copper Pot - Indian restaurant in Westport, New Zealand
Impressed with this wee Indian shop, butter chicken is tasty! Nan bread seems to get better every time I go in. I like that there is an option to get extra meat in the curries. We got a medium once which was pretty spicy, so unless you can handle spice I would stick to a mild. Only had takeway so cant comment on the restaurant service.
Consistently good food at a reasonable price. Weve been here numerous times and always enjoy it. From this curry addict.. Would recommend.
Great service and delicious food. My car battery was dead today out side the restaurant and the man that served us didn’t even hesitate to help. I really appreciated it. They go above and beyond. We live out of town but will definitely be back in. Thank you :)
Love the food. Always a treat. Friendly owner.
Service was fine however the food was by no means good. Ordered the pepper chicken which was dry and bland at best, a keema naan with off tasting meat and a medium korma chicken which I couldnt finish due to being drowned in chilli powder. Would certainly not recommended to anyone I like.
Fantastic Vegan options! Great value staff know vegan and very friendly staff
Pretty consistent pretty friendly pretty bloody yummy! Wish you were open right now!
Average food. The Rogan Josh tasted like tomato puree. Chilli chicken was nice.
What a lunchtime bargain! Great curry with rice and nann bread. Didnt break the bank account either! Highly recommended 👌
Very nice.Waitress very helpful
Berry nice food , will happily buy from here again
A wise friend once told me that the state of the decor in an eatery is an indicator of the quality and service you can expect... please see attached image. The tandoori chicken entree was drier west coast summer road kill and when I expressed this I got a shoulder shrug and an "ah well thats no good" from the pleasantly blunt server.Beware of the spicy factor. Mild is bland, perfect for kids. Medium has added chili...a lot of added chili...and nothing else. An average experience made bearable by the fact that I was hungry.
Great little Indo-Thai place that I never knew existed in Westport nice staff good food
Hot, fast, good Indian food. Cant complain tbh. Had butter chicken and a nan and yeah is exactly what I wanted
Delicious- even better than my recent experiences over the hill in Canterbury! We will be back!Lamb SaagButter Chicken
You can go somewhere to have the better meals...Picture looks good, but gross.
After nearly 3 weeks of lockdown The Copper Pot was our first choice for level 3 takeaways and it certainly didnt disappoint! As always the curry and sides were all generous and delicious, if youre on the hunt for authentic Indian curries this place is definitely for you!
Quite easily the nicest Indian meal Ive have ever had. Thank you
Cant say enough good things about the Copper Pot. Hands down, the best Samosas Ive ever had. Keep going back for them but, everything else Ive tried has been delicious also.
If youre looking to spice up takeaway night, look no further than the Copper Pot. Delicious samosas, chili-level adjusted to your liking, and a menu that caters to every dietary preference among your family members or group of friends. Yum!
ThumpsUp 👍West Coast Indian bar and restaurant.Felt like tap 🍺 beer was missing.
Great food, best dal makhani Ive had this side of Bengalaru
Katie was soo lovely! I am coming back just to have a chat with her again. I really enjoyed how friendly she was.Only giving 3 stars because the owner came in and yelled at her for chatting with us.Naan -4Prawn Butter- I want more
Amazing food and service! I ordered the butter chicken and it was authentic in taste and the wait staff even ask how hot you would like everything. The prawns were also fresh and tasty! I highly reccomend coming here if you are passing through westport.
Lovely food, friendly waitress and it was warm on a cold, wet night. I over ate and couldnt manage dessert 🎂
Got to be one of the best butter chicken my wife has had she just raved about it. I had a dal ..... Fantastic. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Everytime we come to westport we go to the copper pot for a meal as they are consistent in what they do and a a very good price. 10/10
Great food, a little expensive but good quality
We had the mango chicken and it was absolutely fantastic, really quick and totally enjoyed the meal, really nice service and a very today and clean restuarant. Cant wait to go to the Copper Pot again.
The copper pot restaurant I visited was very appealing. The food was very authentic and delicious😋😋. I ordered Kadai paneer which was the best paneer dish I have ever had. Highly recommended. Will come back next time too🤩🤩.
Mild methi chickens the hidden gem of the menu, although not on new menu, still make it for me yum
I would not normally give low rating to a business unless they are missing something really badly. In this case the food was below average and rest I dont care. I am least bothered about service and ambience but only care about food. These guys have made one of the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life, they injected the dishes with the so much extra salt, that I would normally eat in 1 month. We ordered 3 dishes and none of them was tasty at all. Plenty of salt in all 3 dishes and paneer was full of cardamom (enough to have it a year combined for small user like us). I can make better paneer dish at home. Waste of money. :)
Excellent food, including truly delicious vegan kai. Dad was really happy with his fish n chips, and kept pinching my amazingly yummy onion bhaji ,-)Friendly and helpful staff.Highly recommended!!
Very nice.very tasty.
The starter was ok, but not flash. The main was inedible as it was doused in so much salt it wasn’t funny. The garlic naan was ok, better than a mall anyway. We mentioned that the food wasn’t good, and rather than any sort of apology, the hostess simply processed the payment with no further comment.Won’t be back, I’m afraid.
What a delight to find authentic curry in Westport. Fabulous :). Relaxed vibe. As good if not better than curries in the big smoke! Well done guys.
Food was excellent but the restraint ambience needs some work.
Pride of this kitchen and their warm hospitality 🙏🇮🇳🧡. Family Friendly 👪 Restaurants With Great 😍 Heart.A great experience along with my family. Looked after my parents with typical, authentic dishes ( out of menu dishes ). Looked after our young kids with Indo-Kiwi requirements. Had barred my ladies specific diet requirements 👍🏼. This was my best experience in NZ tour....where i had tummy full of food as a freelancer. You made us to forget bitter parts of our NZ tour. My parents🇮🇳 only enjoyed your food throughout NZ.Good On You @ The Classic sPOT💐
Brilliant food great service the boys really know how to do Indian food
What a great lunch. Nancy bread was also very good. Great service.
Great to have a good Indian food restaurant in Westport. Highly recommend a meal here.
Great service we dined in, the meal was full of flavor. We ordered a shared entree and shared the main, and had individual garlic naan. Highly recommended. Our young waiter was very helpful, polite and professional.
It was a big meal for me. Thanks. I ordered butter chicken (served with riceand garlic nan (4 pieces).
While on business in Westport, we dined at Copper Pot. Fans of Indian food, my husband loved the dish he had (Madras chickenfound it better than our local restaurants in Nelson. I had the Fish Malabari, the fish was dry and had a couple of nasty bits of flavoured fish. The service was pleasant. The restaurant was open, spacious and clean, simple and comfortable.
Really great options for those with dietary requirements. Easy and delicious gf/df/vege option. Onion bhaji was super unique and the service was great. Would go again!
Good food in great town of Westport. Great service and outdoor seating. Great place
Best Indian food Ive tasted. Friendly staff and very welcoming. Lucky to have them here in Westport.
Had one of the best butter chicken of my life. Very delicious. Ordered it medium spicy which was perfect. Naan bred could have been a bit more chewy & jucy. But overall quality was good. Atmosphere only 3/5 but the food is worth a visit.
Awesome place and friendly staff. U can customize ur spice level here for ur food and great food with quality ingredients. Open even at 9pm
Best Indian Food To Eat. Excellent Customer Service, Friendly Atmosphere and Quick Service.
Wifi must be seriously expensive in this town since its always limited by time or downloads allowed. Here its 20mins which given its a restaurant is pretty good if you are with someone but sucks if you are by yourself. Ordered a starter and a main course to share and they all came out at once. Not impressed with the seek kebab as very dry and the chicken saag was average like this review. Service was prompt and friendly.
