The Coach House Restaurant - Family restaurant in Bangor, United States
I have been going to the Coach House since I was a teen and now Im in my 40s. Home style comfort food always hits the spot!
We came into town for the first time and were looking for a lobster roll experience and this place was recommended. We walked in and were totally ignored. People came in after us and were seated . An oversight? Okay, I’m good with that . Once we were seated an reviewed the menu, we were ready for the lobster..,Our waitress ( very nice lady told us they were out of lobster! What the heck ? We ordered a crab roll just because we wanted something to eat . It was between tuna salad and maybe chicken salad.. who knows what it was . $65 and totally disappointed.
Pancakes were *perfection*— my friends and I were so hungry on our drive back from Acadia and needed good diner food. Coach house staff was friendly, fast, and the food was unreal. 10/10 will come back
What an amazing place. The servers were off the charts they were fun, they smiled, nice, helpful, etc. The food was great, it was clean and they all cared about the people walking in whether you were a first timer(myself and my husbandor a regular. They made everything such a great experience. We will come back when we are in the area.
Food was good way over priced for what I got chicken tender small salad 20 bucks
Service, food and employees deserve five gold stars. Great place to eat.
We celebrated a birthday party 🎉 there. Service and food was delicious 😋
The cook was very accommodating doing breakfast for us at the last minute. Thank you!! :)They are now closed on Wednesday and close early on Sunday.
Solid breakfast food. A good stop on the way to bar harbor. The staff was nice although they got my order wrong. The food was good.
Staff if quite nice, family feel. We ordered reuben sandwich 🥪 and it was my first so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was tasty. Waited for it quite a while tho.
Best place Ive ever been to awesome staff expeshly Shelly Morrison
Down to Eearth yet out of this world. If You are looking for quality food and a great time pick the.Coaxh house of Brewer. Friendly competent staff, fast service, delicious homecook style American classic food, decent portions, great price value ratio. The list goes on. Tables and booth are wooden and warm, ALWAYS.clean, with disinfectant at every table even! New favourite eatery!
The staff here were so personable, attentive and professional. They really went out of their way to make everyone comfortable without being overbearing. Great service! Good selection on the menu and everything was delicious. Well be back.
My girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner. We walked in and waited to be seated. The woman walked up to us, grabbed some menus and never once greeted us or even said the bare minimum of right this way. She looked like she just exited a methadone clinic. So we followed her to our seats. Our waitress was great and had no issues with her. The food overall was tasteless. I had fried haddock and couldnt take more than two bites. The breading and fish tasted bland. I shouldve gone with my first thought and gone to Governors. Wont go here again.
Such friendly service and the prices are not bad either. I only wanted a Garden salad and I could not believe the size of it
Staff seen as very attentive to their customers...work well with each other...noticeably; greeting new customers & finding a table as one became available.Menu features priced very affordable(something for every palate)Would certainly recommend it to anyone 👍
Food was average. Atmosphere was charming and service was good. Would return if in the area again.
It was okay, average food and service. Fine for a quick lunch but I will look for something else if I return to the area.
A nice place for some dinner in Bangor. Had to wait for about 15 mins around 6PM on a Thursday night for a table of 5 because so busy and likely limited staff. However, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress didnt even need to write orders down, and we had our salads and sides ready within 5 minutes. Tried the broiled scallops dinner which was very good with a side of gallaghers (baked potato which is then deepfried.Waters refills were available very quickly with lemons. Dinner came with a side of bread buns as well. Most dinners on the menu are between $12 - 26. Expect a seafood dinner to be closer to $20+. Neat special for the day with veal cutlets for $12 (didnt try but sounded interesting).Decor and dishes was a little older. No major issues except for a wobbly table but waitress was quick to fix. Not the fanciest place but food was good and lots of options!Great experience! Very friendly and locals seemed to enjoy the place a lot!
Dont do it,Bad Tea,Cold Bread, water down A1 &sauces.dinner guest got food poisoning. Terrible service and over priced
They keep it simple, which is great. We had a nice visit and the staff is awesome.
Coach house is the best restaurant in the Bangor and brewer area people are so positive and onto of their job its the best I love them so much 100%go there and you will see ,,,,,,
Egg-cellent breakfast spot! We didn’t have to wait for a table and we’re served quickly. Food was delicious! We will definitely be back!
I ordered scallops and 2 side dishes. The coleslaw was barely a 1/2 cup. The other side consisted of 4 slices of cukes & 4 slices of tomatoe. It cost $19. The scallops were sliced to look like more. It was pathetic.. I only ate the coleslaw and drank 1 cup of coffee....And, thats all I paid for.
Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here. The food was good, as was the service. It was inexpensive as well.
Food was delicious. Ask for Wanda, shes superb!
The food was good and the staff were polite, but the overall experience did not feel like it justified the price. It is difficult suggesting this place with so many other options available.
Seriously, Coach House is like the "Cheers" of local restaurants. Whats not to like? Everybody knows you and treats you like family. Much of the staff has been there forever. Food is solid home cooking, nothing fancy. If youre looking for good people and good food at a fair price, you just found it.
Love the pies service can be a bit slow but its still worth it.
MY WIFE AND I LOVE THIS PLACE!We have been twice now. The country fried pork is AMAZING! The mashed potatoes are... Mashed potatoes. Most places overdo mashed potatoes like with garlic or redskins. The home made onion rings are BEST! OH AND the homemade woopie pies are soooo good! They also have the best coffee in the area. This is our new favorite place for great food and wonderful service. Im already looking forward to our next visit.
Nicole made this experience one I want to repeat. Never been, having a bad day and stopped on a whim. Offered choice of seating, polite immediate service. Large menu, Nicole helped me build exactly what I was looking for. When I used my lemon from my plate in my water, she brought a lemon for my refill without asking. Attentive without being overwhelming, Nicole is an asset.
i ate here tonite and i loved it!!! tanya our waitress was phenomenal. she was kind informative and very prompt. the food is to die for. it reminded me my grandmas cooking. the portions are huge and pricing is low. you definitely leave with a full belly!!! my new favorite restaurant!!!
Overall a good experience. Staff was kind and helpful. We ate "The Works" a pasta dish, and a Turkey Melt sandwich. Both were good. The Works did not have a lot of flavor but I did enjoy it. The place was clean and not over crowded, a good place to eat. Food did not take long to come out. Which was good.
We didnt have a lot of time before a movie, so tried Coach House instead of fast food. Quick and tasty dinner... made it to the movie theater with time to spare!
Great Breakfast. Amazing food and service. Have gone back 2x since then for just dessert
Whatever you get, it’ll be good. It can sometimes be busy, but you will rarely wait too long to be seated. Fast and friendly service and good food at a good price. Can’t go wrong for breakfast or lunch.
This place is very charming, probably by far the best Ruben, Ive ever had. The menu had a variety of dishes to choose from. Prices were reasonable, and the plate was full. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. If you are in the area, I Highly recommend this restaurant.
This place was recommended to us by another restaurant that wasnt open for business. We figured it would be great. WRONG! Everything about this place was bad. The servers didnt seem to know the menu. None of them looked happy. The decor was terribly dated and wasnt all that clean. The food was reheated frozen food and packaged gravies. Our French onion soup was $6 a bowl. It came with a round piece of cheese on canned soup full of wet bread. It was cold when we got it and the server said she would take it to the kitchen and microwave it for us. Not bake it! We were very disappointed. It was surprising to us that we heard so many people talking about how this was their go to place. On par with McDonalds in my book. Dont waste your money.
VERY bad experience today at breakfast. Waitress brought out hubby order, then informed "oh we are all out of cornbeef harsh, what would like in its place. So, he said sausage, brought it out VERY VERY Over COOKED, change his order on the slip, which was their mistake. Ask for my sausage gravy to be reheated cause it was cool and it came back out with half of it on the plate, cause she heated too much, and said nothing about. People ask us where to go for breakfast and we will tell them not Coach House.
The hosts were cheerful & the Philly cheese steak salad was amazing. The cook’s tastebuds up front delightfully joined me for a selfie between test tasting the debut of the Gallagher Flats recipe. (Hoping the coined phrase will catch onThis Texoma Okie is loving coming back to Bangor Maine area after almost 50 years. My hunnie Chef Mikey rolled his eyes 👀 again as I squealed…. Sooo excited!
Very busy, so good for them. Waited to place my order. All condiments were missing. 2 orders of hand cut fries, got one regular one hand cut. Reuben, the outside of the Rye was so greasy my stomach couldnt handle it and I threw it up. Such a waste, cause I love Reubens. Need to take a step slower and dbl check everything.
Last ate here nearly 6 years ago and have raved about it since. Finally my wife and son were able to join me in an opportunity to finally return. The food was great but not quite as in memory. Somewhat smaller portions these days as with most places. Service was good and friendliness ok but somewhat stiff. Busy staff of course. Overall it was good but not being from the area there will not be a longing to finally return again. Certainly must be a great local eatery
We stayed at the vacation land hotel next to these restaurant, they suggested we eat here. Food was really good and we were completely satisfied. Stops and friendly and important in the price range is very good. I recommend try the daily specials, for that particular day it was haddock fish fries - it really was freshly caught and tasty. We thought to coming back here but Could not manage the time.
We stopped at the Coach House Homestyle Cooking this afternoon on our travel back to NY.The bathroom was not very clean. I wanted to ask the waitress a question and she stated that she would be right back, but never returned. Waited to be waited on for a while. We were a group of 4.I would not recommend eating there.
Great location to our hotel, clean and cozy atmosphere! Waitress was quick & efficient, breakfast was good! Maine blueberry pancakes are soooo good! They serve New England Coffee, which is definitely a plus. Priced just right!
Food is wonderful! Great prices and huge portions! I especially love small town restaurants and this did not disappoint!
Host that sits ya could use more personality not show that customers are bothering her. The waitress we had Kathryn was awesome. Food and prices are great. Will return for another visit to get some great food again.
What a wonderful restaurant!! I believe this is best restaurant in this area!! I am sure I will be back. Their soups and salads were so amazing fresh.
Always enjoy the Coach House...home cooking and there is something for everyone ...well, the vegans might have complaints...BUT the always do!
Their online menu page sux, its all Images, you cant Ctrl+F or search it in any smart way.The food is good, if you can get an order that isnt screwed up every flipping time. In Brewer Maine, this is the only normal restaurant, with burgers, sea food, and breakfast. This is the Third time our order has been messed up, and I personally will not be returning. To be fair, when I have called them, they will fix their mistake, and give you a coupon, but I would prefer they just pay attention to the details the first time around.
