The Clay Oven - Restaurant in Bakau, Gambia
Great restaurant, great food, lovely staff, well air-coned, been going well over 40 years in Cape point/Bakau area.Tuesday night is "sizzling" night a sort of waiter buffet combo, eat as much as you like, all freshly cooked when you ask for more.Huge menu & everything is cooked to order & comes piping hot to the table, been eating here for just over 40 years & never had a single problem.Best Indian in Gambia without a doubt.
Well done, really enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff is very professional. Food was delicious. Looking forward to going back.
Best Indian food..
Super leckeres vegetarisches Essen.
Delicious food and a lovely indoor seating arrangement. Would not mind coming back here again. It is a bit off the beaten path though.
Legendary Indian food restaurant in the Gambia.
Food was amazing, ambience slightly average . I’ll go back for food though
Perfect place since a lot of years!
😋
Curry was outstanding, love variety of dishes and the staff a very friendly and very good customer service
Food was good. However greatly overpriced for the Gambia
Birthday dinner. Nice decor . The food was exquisite. The wait staff were quite nice and helpful. Made very good recommendations when some the menu items we wanted were not available.
Literally the best Indian food in Gambia, the service was excellent and I will definitely visit again
Very quite, food good but all menu not available

Am a foodie but there foods are great.... Had an amazing birthday dinner. And the place is very neat to standard, classic and elegant.
The best place to eat authentic Indian food. Good customer service from the staff and you get value for your money.
An Indian restaurant five minutes away from the busy seaside. Clientele is upscale, so not really the same experience as Senegambia! Mostly clientele of local and expats. The food is very good, and the owner, a Kenyan of Indian origin knows his stuff. There is a good variety of choices, everything is fresh and tasty while not being over spicy. Definitely the best Indian cuisine in Gambia,
Very Over priced small portions, we have a much better curry in the uk for half the price my partner is now so ill after eating there he cannot get out of bed except for the bathroom , we may have to get a doctor!!!
Lovely restaurant ..food good and reasonably priced
Worst Indian food ever
Exquisite!
One of the very few best restaurants in The Gambia
Very nice place to try Indian food
Weeknight dinner. Really nice small plates. The coconut shrimp dish was particularly great and there were a lot of nice local juice options.
مطعم هندي مميز
Great hospitality first of all and then great food. Just off of the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. Jul Brew on draught too. Just looked at the last 2 reviews mentioning the cost. I would say that cost wise this is on a par with other local eateries and not expensive but moderate.
1 of the top restaurants in The Gambia. Excellent food, excellent staff, and the restuarant is absolutely beautiful. Great for dinner functions.
The Clay Oven,s food is nice not very cheap but affordable
The best Indian restaurant in The Gambia. Nice food and more for the money u pay
I think this is the best restaurant in The Gambia. Really great Indian food and intimate setting. Pricey though - youll pay minimum 500 dalasis if you want a vegetarian meal and rice/naan.
I had such a great formal evening here ,
Good food !
Amazing food. Great service. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Expensive. But the best Indian in Gambia. Go on Tuesday for buffet. And buy yourself a glass of underpriced single malt.
So sexy and intimate. The food is INCREDIBLE! Plus theres an all you can eat option on Tuesdays for D700.
Food taste, hotel service, ambient are very good.
Tasteless food expensive they need a good indian chef
The Clay Oven, is an institution in The Gambia. I just love the palak paneer. Well really, I love everything !Super professional management and staff, lovely ambience, and a soothing decor.Never forget, to "mind the red one " ;0)
Amazing food that has remained consistently great for over two decades. The Clay Oven has established its name as the highest class restaurant in town among locals.
Expensive but good Indian food in the Kombos.
Geweldig eten! Pure klasse! Schrokken wel even van de rekening maar dat is uiteindelijk je eigen schuld natuurlijk
Nice food, if a little expensive. Be prepared to be eaten alive if you sit outside.
Excellent place!!
