The City Labor Club in Canberra

Depressing pokies venue. Only thing that made this place good for a late night drink was the staff but most of the good ones seem to have moved on. Location and mezzanine level have so much potential- remove the pokies from upstairs and install a proper sports bar/tab and you might have a decent venue and patrons wanting to visit for something other than pokies or toilets.

Feel sorry for the understaffed kitchen. I had to wait over an hour for a bacon and egg roll. I wanted to leave but didnt want to bother the staff in asking for a refund. Eventually I just couldnt wait anymore and had to go looking for someone to refund me and cancel my order so I could leave.

Great value. Trivia night+Dendy movie ticket meal Deal. Ok, its just a bistro, but its a good bistro.

Lighting the colour of urine, cheap food thats subsidised by the pensioners pouring their money into the pokies machines. Miserable place to be.

The steaks use to be good but today they were very bad ☹️ (too grisly and hard). My wife and I did not could eat it. They really need to improve the food quality.

Always feel welcome by the warm greetings from foh staff. The size makes it quaint and the service is consistent. Good place to stop for a breather and a treat.

Friendly staff. Well priced dinner. A smaller much quieter club. A very nice alcoholic ginger beer, very refreshing is sold here.

In Canberra City in Petrie Place there is an excellent Club, what a gem 💎, for 16 years there, small Club, The Labour Club.Wonderful atmosphere in this Club, Staff so Wonderful helpful and friendly, looking after you when you sitting in the Club.Open at 7am to have an Morning Coffee and Breakfast until 11am. I had Toast with Scrambled eggs 🥚 and Tomato 🍅, and a big Mug 🍺 of coffee ☕️. Awesome staff and place to get a bacon and egg roll and coffee for $7.40.You can also get lunch (steak, chicken schnitzel or fish & salad or vegeand a Dendy movie ticket for $19!Its open weekdays from 9am until midnight Sun - Weds and open until 1am Thurs- Sat.

Had breakfast this morning and One of the best breakfasts. Wonderful helpful and friendly staff. Quick service, great price and definitely enough food to fill us up. Will go back next time we are down.

Barely capable bar staff, management lost in the wind. The best I can say for this venue is that the kitchen & kitchen staff therein always come up with the goods. Great food, lousy bar service. nuff said.

The bar is great service very friendly and attentive! food section on the other hand is horrible. I waited 5 minutes to get coffee because they were busy chatting in the back. This isnt the first time Im experienced this. The chef the servers all need training on customer service and manners on how to talk to people.

The chicken parmigiana was delicious. Services was very friendly. They dont have apple cider on tap which was disappointing. But I enjoyed my meal very much with a beer.

It was okay food was a bit dry and we found it hard to find somewhere to sit. But the service from staff was amazing and very helpful.

Food was fantastic Brooze was a good price mind you that was only with this member discount but overall the club is not too bad it is a bit small for my liking but it is the city its to be expected.

Website made it look 50x better than it was. Food was overpriced, even the $12special fish, chips & salad. 1pce of Boxed battered fish cooked to barely any fish left inside the batter, some dry shredded beetroot, carrot & something else (from a packet no doubtwith a bit of mixed lettuce & some chips- hard to go wrong but undercooked and not very warm at all.

Food is not too bad. Staff are very nice. Pretty quiet on Sundays if you wanted a nice, quiet place to eat or drink.

The movie deal is $17.50 offered 7 days a week either lunch or dinner.You get to choose between a steak, chicken schnitzel or battered fish. All three come with chips and greens. Sauces for steaks are $1 more. Portions are not huge but average.This $17.50 deal gives you 1 Dendy movie voucher which can be redeemed at a Dendy cinema (usually valid for 2-3 months from the day).You do need to be a member to dine at the Labour Club. Membership fee is $5.50 for 1 year or $11.00 for 3 years. You get a free drink voucher and a meal discount voucher on your birthday month each year which more or less covers the cost of membership. Members can bring in unlimited number of guests on unlimited occasions.

Loved this place we stumbled upon on our stay at canberra.staff very friendly prices were fantastic and the food is the best part of all yum yum !!highly recommend anyone visit this wonderful relaxing club

The Chicken Parmy when its on special can be good, but I wouldnt deviate from that. The dried out chicken what ever they call it they have just served me is best suited for my dog...never again!!!!

ordered the salmon and prawns with garlic sauce. salmon was raw! now im a chef and i serve it medium rare myself but this was pretty well raw. so called garlic sauce was a bechamel base not cream and the salad consisted of limp mixed cress 2 slices of cucumber and a chunk of tomato. then preceeded to tell us they cant swap for another meal that was half the price and could only partially refund because i ate a few mouthfuls. would not return would not recommend.

A waiter whose name I late found out to be Morgan Bell gave me the wrong order and when I told him of this fact he simply shrugged his shoulders saying, an I quote "thats not really my problem mate". This disgusting display of service has put me of this establishment and I advice you do the same!

My partner and I rented out the mezzanine level for our engagement party. The whole process was flawless - the staff were lovely to deal with and the facilities were great (private bar, toilets, jukebox). Well priced, finger food was great. Highly recommended!
